Lombok, Indonesia
living in Lombok Island
Lombok is an Indonesian island east of Bali and west of Sumbawa, part of the Lesser Sunda Island chain.
Lombok is a treasure trove of natural wonders and unique wildlife. The island is home to the second highest volcano in Indonesia, Mount Rinjani, boasting a stunning crater lake called Segara Anak at its summit. Trekking up this majestic mountain is a must for nature enthusiast
Lombok island is relatively safe. While economically less thriving compared to Java or Bali, Lombok offers unique island atmosphere, the western and middle part which closer to Bali has sizeable Hindu population, and some sites along Mountain Riniani offers fantastic hiking and trekking over the weekend.
The eastern part is dominantly Muslims and home to stretches of tobacco plantation

May 2023 trekking to mount Rinjani Lombok Island Indonesia 🇮🇩 with my mates @funilyenuf @yudychainy 💪 Mount Rinjani is an active volcano located on the island of Lombok in Indonesia, standing at a height of 3,726 meters (12,224 feet) above sea level. It is the second highest volcano in Indonesia, after Mount Kerinci in Sumatra. It was a hard climb but nothing compared to the Porters effort who play an essential role in supporting hikers and trekkers on their journey up Mount Rinjani. They are responsible for carrying heavy loads (20-25kg) of equipment and supplies, including tents, cooking utensils, food, and water. Without their help, it would be extremely challenging for hikers to complete the climb to the summit. #rinjani #rinjanimountain

Exploring the Majestic Volcanoes in Bali: Hiking Trails of Bali
Tumblr media
Introduction
Bali, a paradise island in Indonesia, has some stunning landscapes. Among these, the volcanoes in Bali stand out. These volcanic trails offer hiking enthusiasts a unique blend of adventure and breathtaking views.
Mount Batur: A Sunrise Adventure
Mount Batur is one of the most popular volcanoes in Bali. The hike to the summit is not too challenging, making it perfect for beginners. Starting in the early morning darkness, you'll reach the top just in time to witness a spectacular sunrise. The view of the sun rising over Lake Batur and Mount Agung in the distance is truly unforgettable. Don't forget your camera!
Mount Agung: The Sacred Giant
Mount Agung is Bali's highest and most sacred volcano. This hike is more demanding, recommended for experienced hikers. Starting your journey at midnight, you’ll climb through dense forests and rocky paths. The effort is worth it. At the summit, you’re rewarded with panoramic views of the island. On a clear day, you can even see Mount Rinjani on the neighboring island of Lombok.
Caldera Batur: A Hidden Gem
For a less crowded option, consider hiking the Caldera Batur. This trail offers a more tranquil experience. You'll walk along the rim of an ancient caldera, enjoying views of the lake and the surrounding countryside. This hike is perfect for those who appreciate nature and prefer a quieter path.
Preparing for Your Hike
Before you set out to explore the volcanoes in Bali, make sure you're well-prepared. Wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring plenty of water. A headlamp is essential for early morning hikes. It’s also a good idea to hire a local guide. They know the trails well and can share interesting facts about the volcanoes and the local culture.
Conclusion
Hiking the volcanoes in Bali is an experience like no other. Whether you're watching the sunrise from Mount Batur, scaling the heights of Mount Agung, or enjoying the serenity of Caldera Batur, each trail offers its own unique adventure. So lace up your hiking boots and get ready to explore the volcanic wonders of Bali.

Perjalanan ke Lombok: Cerita Berlayar
Tumblr media
Hai.
Tumblr media
By the way, ini adalah kali pertama aku berpergian jauh dengan "mengeteng" alias backpacker-an.
