I honestly…. What was your first time with your f/o like?

the first time was A Mess because we were both hyped up on whatever had been circulating at the Crusaders’ party. we ended up in some empty room in this run down fucking house fucking over a table, and got walked in on by ginger and his gaggle of goons. i realized later though that ginger and them never realized it was ME rust was with, because he’d leaned forward and put his arm in front of my face, so all they saw was the blonde hair and just assumed he’d found some chick. it was kind of, idk, sweet?? to realize years later he ended up reflexively protecting me from the start.

it depends. pre ‘95 we were going at it pretty wild until he was able to push me out of the crusaders after i got jumped. ‘95 was a mixed bag until the dora lange case was solved, but after that it was pretty regular, a few times a week until shit imploded in ‘02.

sensual is probably a good fit for the most part. not to sound cliched but we definitely try to convey things through sex that we’re too emotionally constipated to say with words. sometimes rust buries his face in my neck and tells me i need you, and i know that there’s more to it than the immediate, psychical need. oh it can get pretty messy, entirely because of me. he tells me once after the fact, because he’d gotten into something in the evidence locker, that when he was married him and his wife could go at it and you couldn’t even tell, “but we go at it and it’s like the goddamn flood sweepin’ noah’s ark away”.

the best mix though is an even distribution of degradation and praise. like, absolutely tell me what a filthy fucking boy i am, but be sure to tell me what a good filthy boy i am. he also likes to claim ownership, which is how his dumb ass accidentally pavlov trained himself into going into nut mode whenever someone calls him death//stroke because “slade” as an answer to “whose pussy is this?” wasn’t getting me what i wanted and it was like ten minutes before i came up with the right answer. after that he kept doing it because you know, ego, hubris, etc, and now he’s fucked himself while trying to fuck me, good job, colonel. (oh, great, colonel will be the next thing.)

WHAT WAS THE LAST MOVIE YOU SAW? Hm…good question. I see a lot of things when I’m just up late. Last one I actively watched was The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies for the second time. I love it but I get so annoyed on how they decided to end the film.

WHAT’S THE WORST INJURY YOU’VE EVER HAD? I think…when I almost tore some ligaments in my foot and I couldn’t walk for a month or so. Oh and one time I got a rope caught under my armpit as I fell and it tore my skin right open, leaving massive burn-ish mark from front to the back of my shoulder. Wasn’t pretty. It burned all night and I kept crying and sweating and tried to lay a cold wet piece of cloth over it. I was 12 I think.

DO YOU HAVE ANY OBSESSIONS RIGHT NOW? Critical Role. Just, what I generally talk about and fangirl over. I have plenty of other things close to my heart but they’re a bit on hold as I have my new child to look after.

HHHHHHHH yesterday. LITERALLY yesterday. there was a french club meeting that served cheese and bread! so i took my Good Friend WIliam (who is not in french, unlike me), and we walk into the room, and i say “helLO!” bc that’s good manners, when you’re going to just get food and leave, and it’s dead silent. i get food and leave. william has told everyone in our entire hall twice.

my friend and i were driving around evERYWHRE basically, we went from pasadena/san marino to like. hollywood all the way to beverly hills and back and it was wonderful, we stopped 3 times to chase stray cats, take shitty pictures, go to iHop, and almost died several times bc hE SNAPS AND DRIVES at NIGHT on LA FREEWAYS

bunny the stuffed bunny! she’s pretty large, like as long as my torso! she’s white fabric with colored fluffy bits and very floppy, loose ears. she has green button eyes that i had my grandma sew on bc otherwise she actually scared me a bit when i was a kid, but i loved her anyway bc my great-grandmother sewed her for me in the first place. bunny still lives on my bed at home!

one i’ve been wearing a lot is the fork ring i got from the portland saturday market! it’s literally the tines of a vintage fork separated from the part you hold, sanded down so it’s round, and looped into a ring shape. i fidget with it a lot and it reminds me of my mom and step-dad, bc i got it when i was with them. i wear it mostly everyday tbh

yeeeeeeS i have several! the bistro, which is on campus: it’s so comfortable, it has couches everywhere and board games and so many books and zines and the walls are half chalkboard so there’s always art or snark everywhere. the music is super eclectic (it was lorde yesterday, today when i went in it was old-school 90s rap), plus it’s student run so the coffee and pastries and food are SO GOOD. the archive, which is downtown, is really boujee as fuck but it’s SO COOL. it’s so fucking aesthetic, with brown leather stools and uncomfortable booths and vintage books and stuff everywhere. for half the day, it’s a coffeeshop, and after 7, it becomes a bar. then back home, of course, coffee bean and tea leaf is the classic

VREPIT  SA  !!  let’s  talk  XENOBIOLOGY  !!  because  the  galra  look  nothing  alike  aside  from  their  skin  &  eye  color  ;  i  want  to  address  this  as  ...  well,  the  first  post  on  this  blog,  haha  !!  

first  off,  planet  daibazaal  is  said  to  be  the  galran  homeworld.  the  king  of  the  galra  is  clearly  zarkon,  that’s  been  established.  above  are  some  galra,  you  know...  they  have  some  similarities,  but  otherwise  are  incredibly  different.  the first  four  all  share  some  catlike  properties  (  fur,  catlike  ears,  etc  ),  the  last  two  are  more  reptilian  (  scales,  fins,  ridges  of  sorts  ).  so,  uh.... after  a  discussion  with  a  friend,  i  think  ‘  galra  as  a  blanket  term  for  a  large  group  of  species  that  resides  within  the  same  solar  system  ‘  is  a  good  way  of  putting  it.   

so  in  that  regard,  i’m  going  to  do  some  small  classifications.  a  lot  of  people  seem  to  compare  galra  to  cats,  which  i  am  totally  ok  with,  because  i,  knight,  love  cats  more  than  i  love  myself.  i  am  also  going  to  reference  httyd  &  say  that  dragons  are  the  cats  of  the  supernatural  reptilian  world,  which  thus  means  i’ll  put  down  ‘  dragonlike  ‘  as  a  classification  of  galra.  ok,  i’ll  make  this  easy  for  myself  &  start  with  three  categories  :  catlike,  dragonlike,  &  mixed-bag,  because  i  can’t  really  figure  out  things  beyond  that  (  as  i  actually  only  have  rudimentary  biology  skills  when  it  comes  to  genetics  rifp  ).  obviously  galra  like  sendak  fall  into  the  catlike  category,  zarkon  falls  into  the  dragonlike  category,  &  honestly  though,  it  seems  as  a  great  deal  of  galra  are  in  the  mixed  bag  category.  

what  do  the  two  categories  entail  ?  i’m  going  to  just  wing  some  things  here.  note  while  there  are  advantages  &  disadvantages  genetics  wise  between  purely  catlike  &  purely  dragonlike  galra,  there  isn’t  necessarily  a  ‘  better  or  worse  ‘  mindset  in  this  ;  there  is  however  social  status,  which  will  be  discussed  in  a  later  post. 

note  these  are  just  generalizations  &  there  are  exceptions.

catlike  galra  genetic  things  include  :  stealthy  movement,  like  cats,  these  galra  are  silent  on  their  feet,  mostly  ....  &  can  land  safely  if  jumping  from  heights,  like  cats ....  they  also  have  heightened  hearing  due  to  larger  ears.  arguably,  their  night  vision  is  better,  although  there  are  some  things  about  cats  not  being  able  to  see  more  than  a short  distance  ahead  of  their  bodies ...  i  am  not  sure  if  this  is  true.  catlike  galra  also  may  nuzzle  against  things  to  mark  them  as  territory.  they  are  suited  for  survival  in  cold  environments,  as  the  fur  really  helps.  they  are  more  agile  on  their  feet  than  their  purely  dragonlike  counterparts  ;  they  may  find  jobs  in  the  empire  in  espionage  or  assassin  type  things,  although  they  clearly  can  also  be  commanders. they  are  more  apt  to  look  to  upgrades  such  as  sendak’s  arm  &  whatnot  if  they  rise  high  up  in  military  rank,  but  are  perceived  as  the  naturally  elegant  galra.

dragonlike  galra  have  natural  body  armor  &  are  more  durable  on  their  own  without  any  enhancements.  while  their  movements  can  be  considered  almost  clumsy  compared  to  their  catlike  counterparts,  these  galra  are  best  suited  for  warfare,  the  front  lines,  &  may  make  it  big  as  gladiators  in  the  ring.  they  are  natural  weapons,  with  teeth  &  claws,  they  do  a  great  deal  of  damage.  they  may  also  headbutt  things...  due  to  their  reptilian  nature,  they  are  not  well  suited  for  cool  environments.  while  they  may  not  be  fully  cold  blooded,  they  have  a  lower  body  temperature  &  can  be  hindered  in  cold  weather.  however,  they  can  survive  longer  than  their  catlike  counterparts  when  it  comes  to  harsh  conditions  without  water  or  food.  they  are  seen  as  the  resilient  galra,  but  are  not  considered  to  be  as  physically  alluring  or  attractive  as  mates  if  seeking  a  simple  homelife  by  other  galra  —  dragonlike  galra  may  be  used  for  breeding  strong  &  healthy  children,   but  usually  are  not  the  go-to  romantic  mate.

mixed  bag  galra  are  just  that,  a  mixed  bag  of  genes. 

zarkon  is  dragonlike,  but  post  quintessence  exposure,  he  is  capable  of  the  catlike  reflexes,  although  he  cannot  move  silently  &  may  not  always  land  on  his  feet.

well, i can’t speak for the whole fandom bc i suppose we all chose to pair them together for different reasons so... i’ll just tell you my own reasons hoping that helps??

personally, i find their dynamic to be pretty interesting. we barely see them interacting in canon, which is truly a shame given how their personalities would allow them to have a good atmosphere for both of them.

truth, rohan is an overbearing person, as koichi mentions in the Sheer Attack arc, also pointing out how it’s the opposite to Jotaro’s own reserved, quiet being. 

even so, rohan is overbearing ONLY to koichi because he likes him, and he isn’t that way to anyone else who hasn’t caught his attention. in normal circumstances, he wouldn’t push further dialogue when it’s not necessary, and for a person like Jotaro who skips idle chatter and only speaks in pragmatic sentences, they could actually find a way to work out a good conversation.

there’s also the fact that rohan and jotaro would be able to work together as a team, given that rohan doesn’t precisely rely on anyone and jotaro isn’t the type who’d enjoy being dragged down by another person. the fact that they can work independently while at the same time considering the other’s strength and weaknesses (as we see in the Highway Star arc, rohan isn’t indifferent to other people on the same fight as him, as he saved Josuke without hesitation trusting that he’d find the user of this Stand and put an end to this).

they’re characters that are known for the high intellect and quick measurement of the situation they’re in, and they also use whatever method is necessary so they can get an upper hand in the battle. though in my opinion, Rohan is far more reckless than Jotaro, but that’s just an observation, even Jotaro would feel kind of weirded out at how far Rohan goes for taking the contrary of someone who thinks they’ve got the advantage against him lmao. extra af.

now, after pointing out these things, here comes the canon basis: 

rohan took the decision himself of investigating Kira after reimi requested him, regardless of whether the user was a stand user or not. he collected information and we also see him, in the RPS Kid arc, taking pictures of the people because of a theory he’d thought on his own (’we know that he took the identity of a middle aged man so if we narrow it to just that then we can properly investigate their backgrounds and find a lead’ or something along the lines) and this was key information in the pursuit of Kira, as the photograph he took of Kosaku showed Hayato recording him.

Rohan doesn’t need anyone to tell him exactly what to do, he’s pretty smart and efficent when he puts his mind to it and that’s something Jotaro had to rely on during the investigation, because we know Rohan and him at one point exchanged information in the Kira case.

Plus, it was essential for Jotaro to investigate Rohan due to his connection with Reimi Sugimoto on the night of the murder, so it’s unavoidable that they had to interact at one point behind the scenes, which would lead to both Rohan and Jotaro to observe how the other does their job and their way of doing things.

Rohan is also a person that Jotaro can grow to respect, despite how eccentric and arrogant the mangaka may appear. The fact that Rohan would risk his life in order to prevent any unnecessary deaths at the hand of a murderer and to save someone he supposedly hates above all would be contradictory to the face he shows to the world, and that would deeply intrigue Jotaro. He values this kind of courage (courage, for him, is often translated in willpower/resolution just as we see in his fight against N’Doul, which i often use to describe how Jotaro CAN see the good in a person, no matter who they are and acknowledge a good warrior) in a person and it wouldn’t go unnoticed.

In the final arcs we see that Rohan and Jotaro were supposed to reunite to investigate the Kawajiri household in order to find something that could lead them to Kira, and the fact that Jotaro actually accepted Rohan’s invitation says a lot on its own because he wouldn’t waste his time on someone who he deemed as unreliable. He also wasn’t biased by the judgement Josuke provided about Rohan --- i mean, this is a probability because Josuke never shuts ups and at one point he sure as hell bitched about Rohan (i love josuke bc same).

Then, now in the final chapters, we see that Rohan talks directly to Jotaro, telling him to use his Stand to catch Kira. This proves that Rohan had knowledge of Jotaro’s stand abilities, which could either have been revealed by Koichi or by Jotaro himself in order to work well together should the time ever come. Jotaro doesn’t ignore Rohan’s words and says that he’s too far out of range for Star Platinum’s World to have any effect, so he desists of the idea. Again, Jotaro isn’t one to pay attention to anything anyone says if he deems it unimportant.

There are a lot of things about their characters that could actually work, but we never got the canon interaction we deserved so rifp all I could use to describe the potentially good dynamic between them is mostly interpretations of my own.

I also find that Jotaro wouldn’t annoy the shit out of Rohan and that’s already good enough, because Rohan is the type who kicks out people from his life or proximity once they reach too much. The fact that Jotaro doesn’t press on something or that he is quiet most part of the time and is actually very intelligent and observant would match very well with Rohan’s own life-style. They’re methodic and mental, not really bothering to seek trouble. It’s trouble that finds them for some reason and, in Rohan’s case, ghosts.
