#I'm rewatching Riki Oh because I wanted to give Lee a gory splatter film to enjoy#I'd already written this scene with my own memories but figured I ought to check#But man.#Lee's right this stuff is art#A guy looks like he's about to kill himself rather than have to fight Ricky#But then he's just getting at his intestines so he can attempt to strangle Ricky with them#Ricky tries to teach a poor young man how to blow a melancholy tune on a leaf whistle#but the man cries#for he has no tongue in order to produce correct leaf whistle technique#The gang leaders cut it out years ago#So Ricky gives him his precious flute#and the lad dances a merry jig#Five minutes later the man has been flayed to death and dumped in the prison yard for his arrogance#Ricky howls into the night sky and snaps his flute in rage#he will burn their prison poppy fields to the ground for this#Tear this prison down with your own two hands Ricky#I believe in you
