Rick Sanchez Character Study to the tune of Nothing's Working Out by meiyo
I love Rick Sanchez So SO much as a character--- he embodies a very anti-vulnerability, hyper-prideful caricature of a traumatized and grieving man
also ofc he functions under this misconception that he's essentially above human bc he's such a genius, which leads him to this belief that no one could understand his pain or the things he's seen (also supported by the way that two major relationships that he tried to share facets of himself with, Unity and BP, both rejected him). He holds a relationship with his family, but is always aware that they are replaceable and exist across timelines (young Rick holding a baby Morty in BP's house, despite meeting Our Morty only a year ago seems to prove (in my headcanon) that Rick C-137 has replaced Morty and the Smiths multiple times, but not BP). So that's part of why BP is particularly focused on as a sore point for him, alongside Diane and Unity ofc.
Other notes on the animation:
the "assimilated" pictures match up w how the smiths changed over the seasons, from jerry and beth's divorce to clone beth joining the family
starts at morty Also joining the diane-BP-Unity train of leaving rick behind, whichever way it might be, which triggers his big abandonment issues which is the animation
I'm doing an amv and decided to plan it out. I usually don't storyboard, but I wasn't 100% sure how it would happen in my head, so I storyboard. Idk if it I did a good job and I might redo some shots, but it's good enough for me
ok canonically he wouldn't even bother dodging the bullet cause he has the shield but he looks epic (even though I'm just seeing he's off balance but oh well,,, little practice
