#Rhyming whilst slightly feverish

I must be very sick, because I think that I just made some English verse that I needed for a short fic and I believe that it tracks.

That doesn't normally happen. Or when it does, brain is healthy enough to make me aware that it is very, very bad indeed. So I'm perplexed now.

It's a translation of a 17th century French song. Perhaps what helps is that the source material is supremely cheesy to start with (I love it)

Anyone with some kind of eye for English verse willing to check my work and point out the painful bits?
