The moon's reign had reached nearly half its service for the night. Long past the waking hours of most other students, and even longer past curfew. Neither of them should be stirring and yet here they remain. The viper meets the mouse, but the venom's carrier had yet to unsheathe its fangs. Be it his or hers.
"Going somewhere?" She calls to him from the dark. What momentary comfort she's garnered deep within the cushions of the common space couch is ushered out in place of adrenaline at the catch. Looming green walls harbor none other than Hogwarts' most cunning students, only the blue light of the moon dares present itself to betray Slytherin's coloring.
Aspen allows her visage to be hidden beneath the bindings of a book for the time being. She's feigning a lack of interest when in truth, his late-night disappearances are the most interesting thing she's made note of all year. He'd captured her attention the second his presence confirmed her suspicion in the late hours of night, her own presence patient. Waiting.
"Must be awfully important to leave at this hour." The book closes with a soft thud to reveal eyes brimming with curiosity-- or was it the consternation found in familiar distrust? A passing moment and she unfurls from her serpent coil in the cushions to stand, legs stretching as the blood rushes to redistribute where circulation had once been restricted. "Important enough to be breaking curfew."
Tumblr media
She'd sink her fangs in him if she had to, but for now she'd disfigure her intentions and muddle them with the curiosity clawing free from hazel hues in the moonlight.

Shen Wei nods. "I agree. These past years have certainly wreaked havoc on those who get allergies." While he's never had allergies himself, he remembers his twin would get sick a lot, so he feels for those with allergies this bad.
Tumblr media
"Ah yes allergy season is never fun. I do hope that everyone has the medication they need as it seems like the season only gets worse and worse by each year that passes us by" he said and sighed, shaking his head.

Do you think you'll ever continue Veteran Jon Au? I just love the idea of Jon getting to be a big brother for little Jon&Rheagar without the complications in Restoration Au. And I'd really love to learn more about his marriage, his dragon and where was he during the twins childhood. Also the delicious angst of Daemon trying to parent a full grown son. And his relationships with Viserys, Otto and Rhaenyra must also be very different. I'd love to read more or learn about any ideas/headcanons you might have 🥺
I will freely admit that Veteran AU is the one I struggle with most, primarily because the backstory for it is so convoluted. It requires a consummation baby who was lost but not in such a way that Jaehaerys suspects/declares war on Volantis, followed by a falling out between Rhea and Daemon that leads to either Rhea hiding her trueborn twins from their father (a kinder explanation might be that she feared a similar fate befalling them) or Rhea hiding Elys's bastard twins.
And then requires me to substantially change the Volantis-Asikos storyline (basically, Asikos and the warlocks would have to be almost a non-factor, where Volantis betrayed them early on).
And then requires that Jon and Rhaegar don't attempt the Dragonstone letter plot so that only Vet!Jon knows about the upcoming Volantis kidnapping plot.
It's really a "me" hangup since I'm sure most people aren't that fussed about a messy backstory.
As to where Vet!Jon was...he was basically kidnapped at around age one by Volantene agents and was raised there in secret, along with a dragon that hatched. He's assumed to be loyal due to his upbringing, and Volantis is greedy enough to want his little brothers as well. Vet!Jon's memories fully waking up and understanding that he has baby brothers who are about to be kidnapped is what he needs to bust out of there and haul ass to rescue them.
A few scattered thoughts:
I feel like Vet!Jon is probably the most...lost of the Jons who get summerhalled? He doesn't get that immediate twin-bond that gives him a new brother to love and protect, though he grows attached to his little brothers very quickly. And since he's older (17ish), he doesn't get a "redo" of his childhood with a loving father. He's a grown man, a weary veteran who "killed the boy" long ago, and however much Daemon wants to be his father, it's gonna take a lot of work.
And I also mean lost as in the sense of purpose. It was easier for Resonant!Jon to conclude that his new mission was to protect his family (Raymar/Rhaegar). Vet!Jon was in the middle of fighting a war that he never got to finish. He has siblings he will never rescue, though he does rescue the twins. At least he'll have Runestone to rule!
His dragon would be one from the clutch that Qelebrys and Shadow belonged to! In honor of Rhaegal, I'm thinking green--perhaps a deep forest green? With golden accents to round out the bronze and silver.
Very combative relationship with Viserys. If Viserys thought Daemon was bad, Jon is Daemon with sound arguments to back himself up, rather than destroying furniture from Viserys's chamber out of pique. Jon gets very upset when Viserys upsets Daemon, too.
Forget Jon's feelings about Otto, he is probably going to straight up murder Cole in a duel and cry zero tears about it.
I could see Jon viewing Rhaenyra as a stand-in for Dany. He wasn't able to help Dany reclaim the throne, so he'll ensure that Rhaenyra becomes queen and her children live.
Jon wants to level Volantis. They're the number one threat, in his (and Daemon's) opinion. They got away with kidnapping once, and almost twice, and have suffered ZERO consequences, aside from some light property damage when Jon took off.

Can you make this one to in your serie with Rheagar and his sister/wife? 👀 #fireandgoldserie
Fire and Gold (the innocent)

- Summary: Rhaegar chooses you over her. And Ceresi never forgives you for it.
- Pairing: sister!reader/Rhaegar Targaryen
- Rating: Explicit 18+ (just to be safe)
- Previous part: 2
- Next part: the spider's offer
- Tag(s): @sachaa-ff @alyssa-dayne @oxymakestheworldgoround

The Red Keep is in chaos. You can hear the screams, the echoes of horror reverberating through the stone halls, the distant clash of steel as guards and servants rush in a frenzy. But all you see is blood. Crimson stains the floor, splattered in grotesque patterns, soaking into the hem of your gown as you kneel, trembling. You cradle the small, limp body in your arms, your fingers trembling as they brush through his hair. His eyes, once bright and curious, now stare lifelessly at the vaulted ceiling above. Your child. Your sweet boy. Gone.
You can barely breathe, the weight of your grief suffocating you. Rhaegar is beside you, his face stricken, eyes red and hollow. His hand rests on your shoulder, the grip tight enough to bruise, as if anchoring himself to you, to this dreadful reality. His tears mix with yours as he pulls you close, burying his face in your hair, his sobs breaking through the shock.
"How did this happen?" he chokes out, his voice thick with anguish. He looks up at the assembled Kingsguard, his gaze blazing with fury and despair. "Where were you?"
Ser Barristan steps forward, his white cloak stained red at the edges. "Your Grace, we—" But his voice falters, the usual calm shattered.
You lift your gaze, the room spinning around you. Every breath feels like fire in your lungs, every heartbeat a dagger twisting in your chest. The guards stand in a circle, faces pale, eyes averted. Except one.
Jaime Lannister shifts uncomfortably, his gaze flitting to the side as if he can’t bear to look at you, or the child you hold. His hands are clenched at his sides, knuckles white against the steel of his armor. There’s something in his eyes—a flicker of guilt, a shadow of unease—that catches your attention, even through the haze of your grief.
Your mind drifts back, unbidden, to that night nearly a year ago. The night of your royal tour. The confrontation after your eldest wounded hers, Cersei’s voice sharp and venomous as she hurled her accusations, her jealousy like a blade cutting through the air. You remember the glint of steel, the sudden pain, the scar it left on your arm—a wound you’d thought would be the worst of it. But now… now it’s this, a deeper, more grievous wound that will never heal.
King Aerys’s voice cuts through your thoughts, a roar of rage that shakes the very foundations of the keep. He storms into the room, eyes wild, hair unkempt, his fury a palpable force. “Who did this? Who killed my grandson?” His gaze sweeps over the room, manic and dangerous, before it settles on Jaime, and for a moment you think he knows, that he sees what you do.
“Your Grace, I—” Jaime begins, but the king silences him with a gesture, a flick of his hand that sends a servant sprawling as he seizes a burning torch from the wall.
“I’ll have their heads!” Aerys screams, his voice breaking with the weight of his grief. “All of them! The traitors, the murderers—burn them all!”
Rhaegar stands, drawing himself up to his full height, his presence a stark contrast to the king’s frenzied wrath. “Father, please,” he says, his voice strained but steady. “We must find out what happened. We must—”
“Find out?” Aerys spits, his eyes blazing. “It was that Lannister bitch, wasn’t it?” He waves the torch wildly, and the guards flinch back. “Always scheming, always whispering in her father’s ear. And you,” he snarls, turning on Jaime. “Where were you, golden boy? Where were you when my blood was spilled?”
Jaime’s face is a mask of stone, but his eyes—those eyes, shifting and evasive, tell a different story. He swallows hard, glancing at you, and in that moment, something cold and sharp twists in your heart. There’s a truth there, hidden and ugly, that you can’t yet grasp, but you will. By the gods, you will.
You look down at your child’s face, his features so peaceful, so wrong in their stillness. You press a kiss to his forehead, your tears falling onto his cheeks, mingling with the blood. You don’t look up as Rhaegar kneels beside you again, his arms wrapping around you both, his sobs quiet now, broken.
“When I find who did this,” you whisper, your voice raw and ragged, “they will burn.”
You feel Jaime’s gaze on you, sharp and almost pleading, but you don’t look at him. You can’t. Not yet. Not until you have proof, not until you can make good on the vow that’s already forming in your heart.
Rhaegar tightens his hold on you, his lips brushing your hair, his breath warm against your skin. “We will find them,” he promises, his voice trembling but fierce. “I swear it, Y/N. We will.”
The Red Keep is still in chaos, the screams and cries echoing through the halls, but here, in this small, blood-soaked corner, there is only the three of you—mother, father, and the child you have lost. You hold him close, your tears endless, and you know, with a terrible certainty, that nothing will ever be the same again.

Based on this request: Can you do a Robert Baratheon x stark!reader. The reader fostered with Ned at the vale and she gets pregnant with mya stone but a couple of months after the birth the reader was sent away the to foster a another house and she took mya with her and Robert has to marry Lyanna but he doesn’t love her he loves the reader and they reunited at the day rheagar crown Lyanna and Robert doesn’t want to marry her anymore and so they changed it so that he marry the reader. I hope that makes sense.
Here you are, lovely! The request was changed just slightly. *Familiar characters are NEVER mine!*
Warnings: AU, angsty. fluffy. Pre-show events AS romantic as I can possibly make Robert.
Pairings/Characters: Robert Baratheon x fem!Stark reader, Lyanna Stark x Rhaegar Targaryen
Tumblr media
You watched with tears in your eyes as the Vale grew smaller in the distance. You clutched little Mya to your chest while she cooed. You knew your guardian would be livid at the fact that you had given birth to Robert Baratheon's bastard, but you never thought they'd send you away, especially since Robert didn't even know of the child's existence. They sent you away from the only home you'd ever known to be fostered elsewhere until someone could marry you off. It would be a while before you saw Robert again.
*time skip*
"Stop fidgeting." You instantly stilled, "Forgive me, Lady Olenna." Lady Olenna Tyrell had been the one to take you and Mya in after your former guardian pushed you out. You had been “raised” alongside her son, Mace, who was older than you. Olenna sighed. She had come to love you and Mya like her own family over the time you'd been a ward of Highgarden. But she knew you were anxious about this visit to King’s Landing.
When word had reached Highgarden of Robert’s victory and coronation as King of Westeros, you had felt your heart leap with joy that he was alive. Only your heart sank once more when you heard that he was now betrothed to Lyanna, your sister. You loved Lyanna, of course. She was a fierce woman to be admired and was certainly a match for Robert. That didn’t mean you had to like it. In truth, even after all that time, you still loved Robert. Your sister didn’t as far as you knew.
When the wheelhouse stopped outside the Red Keep, you let out a breath, gathered up little Mya, and stepped out after Lady Olenna. It only took a moment for you to hear, “Sister!” Then you felt Lyanna’s arms wrapping around you and your daughter. “I have missed you!” You attempted to smile at her. You knew it wasn’t her idea to marry the man you loved.
Someone clearing their throat had Lyanna pulling back from you. You glanced up to see someone who could only be Rhaegar Targaryen standing there. You curtsied before letting your eyes travel to the man next to him. Robert. His blue eyes were riveted on you for a moment before they began bouncing between you and Mya. You greeted the new king as was customary with a “Your Grace,” but your eyes never left his face as you watched him piece together your little secret.
“Lady Y/N,” Rhaegar broke the awkward tension, “Welcome to King’s Landing.” You gave him a tight smile as Lyanna took your elbow to lead you inside. You could feel Robert’s gaze on you. Lyanna led you to the chambers made up for you and finally let go of your elbow. She glanced around before plopping down on your bed. She looked uncomfortable and you couldn’t tell if it was because she hated being trapped indoors on such a nice day or if she had something to say.
After what seemed like an eternity, she spoke, “I’m sorry.” Your brows drew together in confusion. “What for?” Mya fussed a bit, but you calmed her as you waited for your sister to explain. “Marrying Robert. It was not my idea. I-I know how much you loved him.” You gave her a soft smile. “You do? I didn’t think anyone knew, but I do know that you would never hurt me like this. You never liked the idea of marriage and I’m certain you-” you cut off when you noticed her cheeks tinted pink.
“What?” Lyanna bit her lip as she motioned for you to come closer. When you drew near, she whispered, “I don’t want to marry him, Y/N.” You smiled and nodded, but she continued, “Because I’m in love with someone else. W-We plan to run off before the wedding.” Your eyes widened, but before you could speak, there was a knock on the door. You hugged Mya a little closer as Lyanna called out and the door opened.
Robert stood on the other side, his eyes meeting yours once again. “Out,” he stated, causing Lyanna to raise a brow. “It’s alright, Lyanna. We’ll speak again later.”  Your sister sighed, but left the room all the same. Before she walked out of sight, she whispered something to Robert.
Once Lyanna had left, you spoke up. “You’re angry.” Robert’s blue eyes darkened, “Furious, more like. Why the hells didn’t you tell me?!” You rolled your eyes. “When? I didn’t know the last time we saw each other. Once it was discovered, the septa watched me like a hawk to try and determine who the father was. I-I wouldn’t say. I knew how important your titles were as the eldest son and I didn’t know what would happen to you if it got out you’d fathered a bastard. By the time I was free to send a raven, word came that you were being crowned king. You didn’t need to be saddled with the scandal.”
“That wasn’t only your choice to make, Y/N!” You huffed and set Mya down on the floor to play. “King or not, you do NOT yell at me, Robert Baratheon. Especially not in front of my daughter.” Robert opened and closed his fists a few times in an action you knew he used to calm himself. You were one of the few people he would never hit.
“And now you’re betrothed to my sister. You will marry and have children with her. I expect nothing from you, Robert. Nor will Mya.” Robert’s brows furrowed. He looked deep in thought for a moment until little Mya decided to stand on shaky legs and wobble her way over to him. He looked down when he felt her fall into his legs.
Without thinking twice, Robert scooped up the little girl in his arms. She gave him a toothy grin and laid her head on his chest with her tiny fist in her mouth. Robert looked up at you and then back down at his daughter. “Hells!” he nearly yelled, but changed his tone to a softer one so as not to scare Mya, “I’m the king, right?” You arched a brow and nodded, unsure where he was going with this. “I say who gets married or not. I won’t marry Lyanna. I don’t want to.”
“Robert, you can’t just break off an engagement like that!”
“Yes he/I can!” Robert and Lyanna, who had decided to burst into the room at that moment, replied in unison. You jumped a little and Mya began to fuss. Robert froze and you stifled a giggle. This man, this hardened warrior, looked absolutely petrified at the crying child in his arms. You swiftly took her from him and shushed her.
Robert glanced at Lyanna and then at Rhaegar, who stood behind her in the doorway. “Planned on running off, did ya?” Robert asked and Rhaegar’s eyes widened. Lyanna jutted out her chin in defiance. “Yes, if you must know. Now we don’t have to because you’re going to marry my sister and have a dozen more babies while Rhaegar and I marry and leave to find our own adventures.”
“Do I not get a say in this?” you asked, bouncing Mya. Lyanna looked at you. “I mean, I guess Robert could always marry Cersei Lannister and you could find some lord to marry. Maybe Mace Tyrell.” You grimaced at the thought and Lyanna continued, “Besides, Lyanna of Houses Stark and Targaryen suits me better. You and Robert were always meant to be.” You couldn’t help but chuckle at your sister before meeting Robert’s gaze once more.
“Well? What are you waiting for?” you asked after a moment and Robert’s expression shifted to one of confusion. You laughed. “I positively demand a proper proposal from the king if I am to marry him.” Lyanna and Rhaegar quickly left the room after Lyanna took her niece with your permission.
Once the door closed behind them, Robert met your gaze. “Come on, Y/N.” You crossed your arms over your chest with a smirk on your lips. Robert was absolutely not a romantic person so this was torture for him. “Oh, just marry me, woman!” At your unimpressed look, he added, “Please. You know I love you.” You beamed. “That’s all I needed to hear.” You stepped closer to him and kissed him deeply.
(a/n: I hope you like it!)

The question is specifically for the book only.
The question is not "who deserves the Iron Throne?" or "who would be the best ruler?"
Feel free to (politely) explain your reasoning in the comments and/or tags!

When will people stop blaming Catelyn capturing Tyrion for starting the War of Five Kings?
Or Rhaegar and Lyanna eloping for starting Robert's Rebellion?
Α single person's actions ( or two in Rheagar- Lyanna's case) can't start a war. In both cases war was coming anyway and would have happened with or without Catelyn and Rhaegar-Lyanna being around.

People really say Maester Aemon had to be blind to not recognize the Targaryean features in Jon, or why Ser Barristan didn't come to Winterfell because he'd recognize them. As if there were not multiple people who have seen and been around Jon Snow, who if he actually looked like Rhaegar, would've recognized him already.
You want to tell me Robert "I kill Rhaegar in my dreams every night because I am obsessed" Baratheon, wouldn't have noticed if his best friends bastard son with a mysterious unknown mother JUST so happened to look like the Targaryean he is still hatefully obsessed with? Or Cersei who literally is still so obsessed with Rheagar that she put some mostly random nobody on the small council because he sort of looks like Rhaegar, wouldn't have looked at her husbands best friends bastard son and thought it was weird he looks like Rhaegar? Or just literally anyone who was alive during Roberts Rebellion and would be somewhat familiar with Rhaegars appearance?
Or maybe did some people forget that Tyrions line saying Jon must have nothing from his mother in his looks, was a reference to the fact that no one has ever questioned who his father is because Jon looks that strongly like Ned. And how that's actually a clue that Jon looks just like LYANNA.
Literally none of this works if anyone who even sort of could notice Targaryean features, could just easily notice them in Jon.
The whole reason this lie was pulled off is because Jon looks NOTHING like a Targaryean. Jon is literally one of the characters described as looking the most like a true northerner. So unless Rhaegar magically looked not at all Valyrian and randomly just like a northerner, the real reasons certain characters never met him or cannot physically see him, serves a different purpose then Ned Starks bastard son just so happens to look so much like a Targaryean but SOMEHOW no one ever noticed.
Is this just really bad reading comprehension on their parts, or are these people so desperate for Jon to become a Targaryean that they are literally trying to gaslight themselves into thinking that the most Northern looking character actually is so distinctly Targaryean but everyone around him his entire life so far is just that stupid and didn't notice Neds clearly Targaryean son?

Our favorite asoiaf families at Christmas :
The Baratheons always spend one year with the Estremonts and one year with the Targaryens (the last family of Steffon). This year it's the Targaryens
Steffon will discover at the same time as the children the gifts that “he and Cassana” bought
Rhaegar and Robert will fight about 15 times: one will end up hurting and the other will be punished
Stannis will hide a good part of the party which will scare his parents because they can no longer find him
Rheagar will get a new wooden sword and his first and only instinct will be to test it on his cousin's head.
Tywin, Joanna and the twins won't come until the 25th for dessert and will still manage to get into trouble with everyone (Cersei said she didn't like Stannis because he's ugly).
Aerys will make a surprisingly delicious dessert
Cersei brags all afternoon about having seen Santa Claus in person (it was Kevan with a beard)
Robert accidentally ended up with Stannis' gift and had books and a stuffed animal. He's not a very good actor.
Joanna insult Aerys because of a very unwelcome comment and everyone agreed with her
Jaime will just run around screaming because he ate too much sugar
Robert sat on his mother's lap, fell asleep and didn't move again even when she put him in bed at the end of the evening
Steffon cried a lot before going because he was stressed, then when leaving because he was sad (and extremely overstimulated)
Rhaella and Cassana will start putting away the children's toys while they sleep but end up playing with them
Tywin will say several times that they should never have come but will cherish this memory (without ever admitting it)
Happy Christmas to everyone who celebrate it !!

ASOIAF Theories I Stand By
Dark Sister is in the cave with Bloodraven and Bran. Meera will use it to kill an Other while Hodor holds the door.
Quaithe is Shiera Seastar. She is to Dany/fire, what Bloodraven is to Bran/ice.
Jon Snow is 100% the son of Lyanna Stark and Rheagar Targaryen.
When Daenarys locks eyes with Rhaegar during her vision in the House in the Undying, he was seeing her in the future. He misinterpreted the vision of her and her dragons, believing her to be his daughter and third child rather than his baby sister. And hers is the song of ice and fire.
Young Griff, or Aegon, is a Blackfyre descendant. He and Jon Connington are both being manipulated by Ilyrio and Varys to place a Blackfyre on the throne. But power lies where power is proceived. Young Griff believes he’s Aegon, Griff believes he’s Aegon, and that’s all that matters. The people will believe it too and welcome him, the mummer’s dragon, with open arms.
Cersei is definitely blowing up the Sept of Baelor.
Jon will be resurrected at the expensive of Ghost and his POV within the narrative. He will adopt physical attributes similar to the direwolf/weirwoods, with hair streaked with white and red eyes.
Sandor Clegane is the Gravedigger. But we might not ever see his character again. And I’m fine with that ending for him.
Arianne Martell is the “younger, more beautiful Queen” who will rise up and cast Cersei down. She will wed Young Griff/Aegon.
Darkstar will be the next Sword of the Morning and be the captain or a member of Aegon IV’s Kingsguard.
Dany is Azor Ahai and Drogon is lightbringer. She is also her own Nissa Nissa. She will die, for love of her people, in a sacrifice that ends the Long Night. As much as that pains me.

Another prompt rheagar first impression of Jon in chapter one
Okay, this is sort of his pre-impression, but hey, you can prompt more than once!
x~x~x
Rhaegar only half-listened to the maester’s voice as he explained the system of oaths binding bannermen to overlords, and the duties owed by one to the other. His thoughts were a jumble that grew by turns more and less confusing. His name was Raymar, but it was also Rhaegar. His brother Jon was not here, which should worry him. Jon never left him to attend lessons alone.
Rhaegar had no brothers who had lived beyond the cradle. Baelon had been small and quiet, and gone before his tenth moon. Aegon had not survived beyond his sixth.
But he remembered running through the halls of this strange castle after a dark-haired boy with a face like his. He knew that boy like he knew his own soul—his sorrows and his dreams, his laugh and the feel of his cheek against his as they crouched in a cranny, knowing that they must not be seen.
It was their name day soon—twins. They were twins.
Worry grew within him, a roiling knot that felt foreign, as though he could cut it at a thought, or cast it aside, but he let it grow instead, prodding at it until it became something like his own, its melody changing from discordant to more of a harmony.
Is he—
—is she—
—all right?
He turned before the door even opened, a beat skipping in his heart. Relief. Anticipation. A boy stared at him through the open door with equal parts recognition and wariness. Jon.

I swear I read a one shot where a modern woman helps Lyanna Stark escape Rheagar, who he's trying to force to fulfill his prophecy nonsense. I think the woman kills Rhaegar, maybe by pushing him out a window?
She briefly inhabits Lyanna's body, though, and Lyanna is thinking to her/ they're conversing the whole time.
