obsession | aegon targaryen x reader
summary: anonymous requested: aegon being obsessed with his new wife, but stuck in council meetings all day. when he finally sees you at night he's always trying to impregnate you and give you as many babies as possible.
warnings: established relationship, smut. (oral, handjob, piv, creampie, impreg.)
a. note: link to the original request.
You and Aegon have only been married a week, and already even a day away from him feels dull and empty, like a world stripped of all color and joy.
Though you didn't know him well before your betrothal, you've found your new husband to be doting and sweet and quite handsome to boot. To be married to a Targaryen - much less the king - is any highborn girl's dream. They are the rulers, the protectors, of the realm.
But that's hardly what matters to you, when it comes to Aegon.
He may be king, and you now queen, but you find yourself believing you would love your husband even if he were a lowly pauper from Flea Bottom.
And that's why you're now hurrying up to your bedchamber after a long day of entertaining the keep's guests from the riverlands. You've taken tea and other small meals with the visiting lords and ladies all godsdamned day.
All you want now is to see your husband after many long hours away from him.
On his part, Aegon himself has been busy with small council meetings and petitions throughout the day and has been eagerly awaiting your return since he got back to your shared bedchamber and found you still absent.
He's right behind the door when you push it open, stumbling back in pleasant surprise, a flushed grin on his face. "There you are, my sweet," he mutters, taking your hand and drawing you close to him. "I heard your footsteps in the hall...."
You grin, falling against him with a sigh and kicking the door shut behind you. "Did you now? And you were so sure it was me?"
You slot your fingers with his and squeeze, gazing lovingly up at him.
"I would know your footsteps anywhere." He pulls you flush against his chest, arms wrapping you in a tight embrace. He buries his face in the crook of your neck, inhaling deeply, relishing in the scent of your hair, your skin, the day's exertion still clinging to you in a damp, cloying sweat.
He mumbles against you, words ushered against your skin, "I missed you."
"I've missed you too, my king." Finally, wrapped in his arms, everything is right with the world. "And how was your day? Meetings went well?"
Aegon is already half undressed, his tunic laying loosely over his unlaced trousers; you take the opportunity to slip a hand underneath his top and trail your nails lightly over his back.
His eyes slip closed in obvious pleasure at the feeling of your fingers on his spine and he shivers under your touch, a soft moan escaping him. It takes him a moment to respond.
"Mmm, my day was long and tiresome. I spent the entire day in the small council chamber, then moved along to the throne room to listen to petitions and resolve asinine disputes. I couldn't wait to come back here to you.... to have you in my arms, finally." His lips are seeking your neck again, his favorite place, laying soft kisses along the skin there.
"I'm sorry, love," you sigh contentedly. "You know I feel much the same - all this droll highborn talk puts me to sleep, it always has."
You roll your eyes, intensifying the scrape of your nails over Aegon's back. "But at least there was tea."
A full body shudder rolls through him this time, back arching under your hand as he groans and grabs wantonly for your hips.
"Tea?" He murmurs, lips brushing your ear. "You and your damned tea. Sometimes I think you might love your tea even more than you love me...."
"Oh, how could I?" You gasp, aghast, as you pull back to look at Aegon. Both hands now planted on his shoulders, you give your husband a studying look. "I love nothing more than you, my king."
A gentle hand comes to stroke at his soft cheek, thumb brushing back and forth beneath the dark circle ringing his eye. "You look exhausted, Aegon. Shall we to bed?"
Aegon leans into your touch, closing his eyes again only briefly, savoring the feel of your sweet touch against his skin. He draws a deep, steadying breath before meeting your gaze with a weary smile.
"You're right," he concedes, hushed, "I am exhausted.... but I don't think I could sleep just now.... "
The timber of his voice dips lower, and his bright blue eyes darken as he takes hold of your waist again. "Do you know what's been on my mind all day?"
You press against him, loving when he gets like this. So desperate and needy and all for you, secreted away from everyone who have had him all to themselves all day. Now meant only for your eyes.
"I'm sure I could guess, but.... Why don't you tell me?" Taking his hand, you lead him slowly toward the big bed in the middle of the room.
Aegon follows your lead, willingly, letting you guide him to bed. His gaze devours your figure, watching the way your hips sway with each step. Such nice, child-bearing hips, he thinks. He can't help but admire the way your silken gown clings to you as you move.
As you reach the bed, Aegon is there behind you, arms around your waist, holding you back against him. "All day, I've been thinking about holding you just like this," he murmurs, his lips at your ear. "Your body pressed to mine.... the sound of your labored breathing as I make you mine.... as I breed you...."
With your back pressed to his chest, you can feel him through his trousers - already deliciously hard for you. His hands prowl over your body atop your gown, and you turn in his embrace to start plucking at the already half unlaced top of his tunic. "Aegon.... I need that. I need you. Please."
His breath hitches. The desperate tone in your voice, the way your body responds instantly to his touch.... it makes his head spin.
"I know," he growls, his hands never relinquishing their hold on your hips as he kisses your neck. "You don't know how much I've wanted you, darling.... how hard I've been all day." He grinds himself into you, his erection straining at his trousers.
Wanting to see more of him, to have more of him bared against you, you urge him to raise his arms, ripping his top off over his head.
Your small hands travel his chest, brushing his pretty pink nipples, palming at his belly. "I think I have something of an idea. Because I've been wet all day at the thought of retiring here, to do this very thing."
His eyes flutter shut and he whimpers wantonly at the feeling of your hands on his body. No one had ever touched him this way before you.... He is completely at your mercy, putty in your hands to do with as you wish.
"Is that so?" He gasps, voice trembling, abdomen tensing under your touch. "Did you spend the whole day thinking about this.... thinking about me?"
He sounds surprised.
You tilt your head. "Of course, my sweet. I spend every day thinking of you. When I'm taking tea or practicing my Valyrian, you're always in the back of my mind. And I do mean always."
While he's preoccupied with this thought, you let your hands stray to his trousers, undoing those the rest of the way as well.
You slip your hands past the waistband and he gasps, his body shivering against yours.
"And what thoughts do you have of me, my darling?" He murmurs huskily, the timbre of his voice dropping an octave. "Tell me. I must hear them."
Aegon is already half mad with desire, with the way your body fits so easily against his.
With one of your hands seeking his hardness, the other brushes a lock of fine hair lovingly away from his face. "I think of your lips, the sweet kisses they give. I think of your hands, and what pleasure they bring me. Of your tongue...." Here, your fingers brush over his plump lips. "But mostly I think of your cock, and how one day soon it will give us an heir...."
Upon saying this, you grab it, and start to stroke slowly.
Aegon groans aloud, a guttural sound of need and desire that reverberates through his chest. He buries his face again in the crook of your neck, laboured breathing hot against your skin.
"Oh gods, yes...." He gasps, hips jerking reflexively into your hand. "Keep talking.... don't stop.... I know.... I know I'm not worthy, of any of this. But gods, when you say I am I actually fucking believe you...."
You welcome him against you with your hand cupped behind his neck, holding him close as you continue to stroke him inside his trousers. You soothe his little shakes and trembles with a kiss to his shoulder as you mutter softly, "Think of how many times you've given me your seed in just the past week. How many times more you're going to in the coming years. You're going to give us such a big, beautiful family. I love you, Aegon...."
You know your king likes hearing this, and that his favorite thing in this world is finishing inside of you. As such, your words have the desired effect - Aegon is now throbbing against the palm of your hand.
Close to your ear, his breath stutters. His body follows shortly after with a tremor, and he clings onto you, fingers grappling at the back of your gown. Your words, your touch, your presence - it's all he needs. And he's completely at your mercy, a mess of desperate desire and need.
"I'm yours.... I'm all yours...." He sobs into your neck. "You're the only one who makes me feel like this. The only one who makes me feel even remotely alive."
His hips buck his cock into your hand, the friction driving him mad. "Please don't stop.... I need you."
"Shh, Aegon...." You soothe him further, more kisses pressed to his warm skin. And though he's asked you not to stop, you do, only temporarily.
Doing your best to ignore his whimpers at the loss of your hand, you turn and offer your back to him. "Undo my dress, my love. Or shall I call my handmaids in to assist instead?"
Behind you, Aegon stumbles forward. "No," he growls. "No, I'll do it."
You know he hates the thought of anyone else seeing you in any state of undress, which is why you'd said it in the first place.
His hands are clumsy and shaking, but he manages to undo the buttons of your dress, revealing more and more of your skin. Every inch he exposes is like a revelation, a small taste of what's to come.
He pushes the dress from your shoulders, letting it fall to the floor in a pool of fabric at your feet.
Clad now in only the sheer, white shift worn under your gown, you step out of the folds of your dress heaped on the floor and back toward the bed. You offer a hand to Aegon. "Come, my king. Join me. Or haven't you been thinking about this all day?"
His eyes rake over you, the thin material of your shift leaving little to the imagination. Aegon swallows hard, his throat suddenly very dry.
"Gods, yes," he rasps, taking your hand and letting you lead him to the bed. "It's been maddening to be apart from you all day. To think of you, only a few corridors away, while I was trapped in ridiculous meetings and listening to petitioners...."
"Petitions are important," you sigh, sinking back against the veritable mountain of pillows adorning the head of the bed. "Meetings less so, I'm sure. But.... nothing more important than doing your husbandly duty to your wife."
You laugh softly, spreading your legs as your shift rides up around your thighs, letting Aegon settle between. "My dear Aegon.... you know you do deserve this, don't you? All of this.... all of me?"
He admires your splayed legs, gaze dark and intense. Then he reaches out, letting his hands travel over the soft flesh of your inner thighs.
"I think you give me far too much credit, my love," he begins, pausing to press a gentle kiss to your leg, lips skimming over your sensitive skin. He moons adoringly up at you, raw desire written plain over his face. "But when you say it.... I almost believe you."
It's so hot these days, you typically decide to forego any smallclothes under your shift. Tonight, you're especially glad for that - Aegon's mouth is dangerously near your thighs. No doubt he can see your sex glistening beneath the shadow of gauzy material stretched between your legs.
"It's true, my king. All the love you have for me.... I want to return it tenfold."
With that, you start to pull the shift up further, so that slowly, your bare lower half is made plain to Aegon in the dim light of the bedchamber.
His mouth goes dry at the sight of you, bare and exposed to him. His breathing quickens, and he takes you in like a man thirsting for water.
"Gods, you're beautiful," he breathes, his voice barely above a whisper. His hands twitch with restrained need, aching to touch you, to feel you. "If I could, I would spend the rest of my life worshiping this body, and never go even a second without stopping.... "
The shift slips up even further, over your breasts and off, as you shake your hair loose. "You look like a man who wants a taste, Aegon.... Why don't you indulge?"
You encourage him with a hand at his shoulder, pulling him down.
He can't resist you, not that he'd ever dream of trying. He leans in, hands grasping your thighs, gentle kisses laid in their wake, his lips a mere preview of what's to come.
"You're so wicked," he murmurs, his breath coming in scorching pants against your thighs. "Always so eager to drive me to such desperation...."
Painstakingly slow, he inches higher, his lovely mouth trailing up toward the center of your heat, lips pressing soft kisses over the sensitive flesh.
You hook a leg over his shoulder, keeping him close with that hand now in his hair.
"You were already hard when I was still wearing my gown," you giggle, pressing your thumb to the corner of his plush lips. "Don't act like you need any tempting.... "
"Gods, not when it comes to you," he mutters, his lips now hovering just above the most intimate part of you, the anticipation driving both of you mad. "You're like a drug, my love - so very addicting. Once I have a taste, I can't get enough...."
His tongue darts out, tasting you delicately, barely enough to even feel, and he positively howls. "You taste so sweet.... my favorite meal."
The second lap of Aegon's tongue over you is also gentle, almost innocent. "Please, Aegon.... I need you."
You press that thumb harder, parting his lips and making him suck on your thumb.
He takes it eagerly, tongue swirling around it, long lashes fluttering against his cheeks as he tastes you.
"You know I can never resist you, my love," he mutters around your finger. "I'll give you whatever you want, whenever you want it."
He kisses your thigh, your hip, your stomach, working his way back to the place he wants to be most.
Once he's released it, you smooth your wet thumb over his cheek, leaving a streak of spit. Then leaning back, you grin. "I think you know what I want."
He smirks up at you, a mischievous glint in his eye.
"You know I do," he murmurs, tongue delving between your slick folds. He grunts against you, the taste of you sending his mind spinning. "Heavenly.... I could spend all night right here, just like this."
Your thighs tremble beside his ears, and Aegon pets his hands soothingly over them.
"A-Aegon, gods.... your tongue always feels so good. It's not too late, we can keep at this for a while before we have to sleep, don't you think?"
His words are muffled, but the meaning clear; "I have no intention of stopping any time soon, my queen.... I plan on having you scream my name before the night is through."
Aegon's tongue swirls in lazy circles against your clit, hands gripping your trembling thighs to anchor you to him.
Aegon loves to tease, you know this. And yet, it still takes you by surprise and leaves you breathless how slow and lethargic those sweeps of his tongue really are.
"Aegon," you moan loudly, head thrashing, fingers plucking at your stiff nipples. "Aegon, I love you...."
"I love you," he says, pausing to flick his tongue against your clit, teasing it relentlessly. "Gods... I love you so much... so much... "
His mind is hazy with desire, lost in the taste and scent of you, the feel of your body under his touch. He can't get enough of you, craving more and more until he's completely satisfied, which he knows will take hours at the very least.
Aegon is gazing up at you with a mix of desperate desire and heartfelt love. The fire blazing in his bright blue eyes is intoxicating, drawing you in.
"I know.... I know you said you want to do this all night, but.... don't you want to put a baby inside of me instead?"
His breath stutters, eyes flashing with heat at your words. He presses another kiss to your hip, his hands roaming over your skin.
"A baby...." he muses, the thought sending a thrill through him. "You'd give me an heir, my love? Our child.... growing inside you...."
"Of course," you chuckle, carding a hand through his hair. "Isn't that what we've been trying for every night - and some afternoons - this past week....?"
He chokes on a laugh, his hands moving to rest on your stomach. "Every night and afternoon.... and some mornings." He looks up at you with a cheeky smile. "I've been a very.... thorough husband, haven't I?"
You nod, grinning down at your handsome husband. "Some might say too thorough. We've both been neglecting our royal duties, somewhat, to try and conceive. Tonight could be the night...."
He chuckles, hands moving over you, palming gently. "And if not tonight.... then we try again and again and again. Until we're successful."
He trails kisses over your stomach, his mouth wandering over the soft skin. "I'm not going to stop until I get you pregnant, love."
"We should start now, then...." Your cunt is dripping onto the bedclothes, all Aegon would need do is take those confounded trousers off and slide right in.... "Get me pregnant, my king. Give us an heir."
Aegon needs no more prompting; he kneels up just long enough to kick his pants off the end of the bed, then crawls over you.
"As you wish, my dear." His body presses close against yours, the heat between you searing hot. He bends to press a kiss to your neck, hands gently caressing your body. "You'll give me heirs and spares?"
You brace yourself with your hands on his arms, running over his heated flesh. "We'll have so many princes and princesses running around, we won't know what to do with ourselves," you reply quietly.
Aegon's cock is red and leaking, bobbing between his legs. "I want it," you mutter, staring hungrily down at it.
"That's the plan," he mutters, eyes darkening as he follows your gaze down between his legs.
"You're just as wicked as I am, aren't you?" His voice is strained with need. "I want to tease you more.... make you beg and squirm.... but you're making it so hard for me to hold back now."
You swipe a hand between your own legs, gathering slick from your folds to bring to Aegon's length, easing the way as you stroke him.
"Am I making it hard? Am I making it so hard, my king?"
Your touch sends a jolt of pleasure through him, a grating cry falling from his lips. He nods desperately, his hips bucking into your hand.
"So... gods, so hard... you're going to drive me mad, woman," he groans, his breath coming in ragged gasps. "If you keep this up, I'm going to lose all control..."
"Lose it, then. Fuck me, Aegon. Fuck me so hard the entire keep can hear me scream your name." You're trying to pull him forward by his cock, but the slippery grip of your fingers is making it hard.
Aegon growls, grabbing your hips and pulling you towards him roughly. His cock slips from your grasp, pressing against your entrance as he stares into your eyes.
"Is that what you want, my love?" he croaks, voice breaking with longing. "Do you want me to take you like a savage…. make you mine completely…. until there's nothing left of us but the echoes of our screams along these stone walls?"
He doesn't wait for your answer, pushing into you in one swift motion. You're tight, so godsdamn tight, and it's all Aegon can do to keep himself from losing control entirely. He begins to move, slowly at first, relishing the sensation of your body gripping him selfishly.
Gods, he makes you feel like some lowborn whore when he talks like that, and you love it. "T-Take me, Aegon," you stutter, a moment too late. He's already inside, moving, pushing past that tight ring of muscle that is always so hells bent on keeping him out.
One hand comes down to rub hard at that little button, the one that sends such shocks of pleasure through you. The other braces itself on Aegon's hip, where you can feel his muscles moving beautifully beneath the skin, driving him on.
Aegon growls, feeling your body react to his touch. Your tight walls pulse around him with each stroke, driving him ever closer to completion.
"By the gods, you feel so good," he pants, his fingers digging into your hips as he quickens his pace. "So fucking perfect…. just for me…."
He can feel himself getting close, a fire building inside him that he knows will consume him entirely. But he can't stop now, not when you're writhing beneath him, begging for more. He moves harder, deeper, angling his hips just so to hit that sweet spot inside you.
You find yourself digging your heels into the mattress, helping him to change that angle to the one that makes you see stars.
You truly are screaming his name now, your voice echoing off the walls. Surely those in neighboring chambers have no trouble hearing you now.
"That's it," Aegon grunts, his hold on your hips bruising. "Let them hear you, love. Let them all hear their king getting their queen pregnant."
Your body tenses, pleasure building inside you to a fever pitch. You can feel yourself teetering on the edge, ready to topple over into ecstasy at any moment.
"Gods, Aegon!" You cry out, gripping the sheets beneath you as he pounds into you with abandon.
"Yes, yes…. let them hear it…. let them know you're mine…."
And then it's there, that rush that consumes you entirely. You shatter around him, every muscle in your body clenching as you scream his name. It's enough to push him over the edge too, and he follows you with a hoarse cry, spilling into your depths.
Your entire body feels overheated, the candles on the bedside tables guttering as you cry out with abandon. There's a soft layer of sweat over your entire body as you lie panting underneath your husband.
His cock is still spasming and twitching inside of you. You have just enough energy to wrap your trembling arms around his shoulders and pull him in for a kiss. "Do you feel that, my king? Do you feel your queen's cunt milking all of your strong seed out? It's going to take this time, I just know it."
Aegon whines, his body shuddering with the aftershocks of his release. He collapses onto you, panting and sweaty as he pulls you into his arms.
"Gods, yes," he gasps, his voice ragged with pleasure. "I can feel it…. you're so tight…. so perfect…. I've filled you completely…. you're pregnant with my child…"
He says this like the saying makes it so, and you love him for it.
He nuzzles your neck, kissing you feverishly as he continues to thrust weakly into you. The thought of making you carry his child ignites a fire in him that refuses to be quenched.
The feeling of Aegon still trying to fuck his softening cock into you warms your heart. Your king wants so badly to always be inside of you….
Letting him rest his fair head on your chest, you take a steadying breath. "Aegon …"
He looks up at you, eyes softening as he takes you in. "Yes, my love?" He asks, still panting heavily.
You run a gentle hand through his hair, feeling the damp strands sticking to your fingers. "Do you really believe that I'm pregnant with your child now?"
Aegon nods firmly, pressing a kiss to your collarbone. "Of course I do. My seed has filled you completely, my queen. And soon enough, our child will be growing inside you…. a true heir to the Targaryen name."
He pauses, taking a moment to adore you. "And when that day comes, my love, we'll be unstoppable. Together, we'll conquer all of Westeros and make the world bow to our will."

The Anatomy of an Outfit (aka 'holy fucking Continuum THE LOOK™)
Y'all know I haven't seen a single STP episode since 2.9. I would rather gargle with acid than go near this show ever again frankly, but, well...
... Good sweet sanctuary what the fucking hell is THIS. :O (@tennant, clearly a fellow appreciator of all things ancient god, must be thanked profusely for these glorious few shots I'm about to show off. <3)
I called this lovely, lovely man returning about ten minutes after he 'died', but I don't think any of us were expecting his outfit to slay THIS HARD when he did. And not only is it the sexiest thing my fortunate eyes have ever had the pleasure to absorb, but it also happens to be very, er... well let's be real here, it's ridiculously Qcard-coded.
Let's break it down, shall we?
We'll start with the obvious: it's maroon and black. This look appears to be a mad fusion of his Encounter at Farpoint judge robes (which is fair, we end as we begin), and his husband of forty years' captain's uniform. That piped shoulder's hugely reminding me of this, in fact:
It's the inverse! You know, the same look, flipped? Because they have perfectly distinct personalities but are also mega gay???? Costume department allies fr.
The delightfully dramatic sash Q's rocking is also interesting - it places maroon at the centre of the outfit, and is its grandest statement, which makes it an excellent example of the importance of the colour to its wearer. This is the clothing equivalent of him having mon capitaine tattooed across his essence, which... well yeah, valid. Canonical facts. It's worn across virtually his whole chest, too, because nothing says 'that's my husband' more than having him literally held against your heart.
It's a different era of captain, across two shoulders - the old teasing, and the new love.
Also, this fucking brooch.
Now, whilst I doubt they've given even John de Lancie a piece made of actual rubies for a fifteen-second scene, the stones here are very clearly meant to evoke them. And rubies are interesting for several reasons:
They're Picard's birthstone, his birthday being July 13th;
They're symbolic of power and protection. What follows is some of the interesting info I've picked up from internet gemology on rubies:
... Huh. Resolve disputes. 'Dispel anger,' when we've seen a darker Q in this series. And 'protective powers'... mm, how many times has Q saved Picard's life again? What did we get up to, six?
... 'Romantic love.' 'Devotion.' Uh-huh.
This brooch is also evocative of the Navaratna, or this thing:
The brooch itself is clearly stylised, but it features eight gems orbiting a central larger ruby (which is meant to be the sun by the way, as though this motherfucker wasn't already evocative ENOUGH of the sun here or here), and is an important cultural and religious symbol in Hinduism. What's it symbolic of, exactly?
... Oh, nothing much. Just... just this.
... Like I said, nothing much, just the whole concept of Qcard in fucking jewellery form.
The brooch's also, as the wife @porgthespacepenguin pointed out, an eight-pointed star.
... Have I mentioned yet that I fucking detest this show? Because I really fucking detest this show.
There's nine rubies on it, as well. Picard's in his nineties.
So, let's recap:
Nine of Picard's birthstone for his ninety years
Sun symbolism, AGAIN
Celestial relationships
Beyond space and time
Romance
Prosperity
Protection
Resolution
So, all that, from a brooch worn over an outfit that looks suspiciously like Picard's, which has a sash across it in Picard's colour.
... And I'm supposed to believe that Qcard isn't endgame? You're really going to gaslight me to this degree right in front of my salad, you absolute bastards????
Guys, when you inevitably wipe this shitshow of a Star Trek from your collective minds like I'm about to do, just... take this with you. Take the fact that everything about this outfit and this SHOW has said all along that Qcard is endgame, until they couldn't be arsed. Until they lost their balls for the pathetic few who might have naysayed it.
Patrick, and certainly John, deserved so much better. I'm glad that at least someone on this set understands that. (I see you, costumers. I see you, and I love you.)
Just going to... just going to stare at the absolute fine-aged wine of a man that is John de Lancie for a moment, before I lose my whole shit. He calms my soul, you see.
HIT THE SLAY KING JOHN <3
#qcard#q of the continuum#jean luc picard#just gonna throw in here again that I DETEST THIS SHOW WITH EVERY FIBRE OF MY BEING thank you for listening#can't believe love won guys even if no one actually bothered to tell us#they're married now and everything#star trek picard spoilers#stp#meta

🍃🕊🍃 Prophet Jesus (as)
The Messiah, The Messenger, and Servant of Allah
🍃 Maryam (sa), the mother of Isa, Jesus, Messiah (as)
The wife of Imran was a barren and sterile woman, but she heard from her husband that God had promised him a boy who would be able to bring people to life and to cure the sick as well through the power and command of God. (1)
She believed that Almighty God could do this, and prayed to Him to give her the child.
God granted her prayer and she became pregnant. As a sign of thankfulness for this great blessing and gift, she vowed that she would give her child to the service of the House of God (in Jerusalem). (2)
The child who was born was a girl, and when her mother saw her she said, “This is a girl, but I will be faithful to my vow; I will call her Maryam She and her children, I commend to Your protection from the mischief of Satan.” (3)
The wife of Imran took Maryam to the House of God. She entrusted her to the custodians of that place. Since the infant was the daughter of their leader, Imran everyone wanted to pay for her upbringing and guardianship so that the honour of having looked after the daughter of Imran would fall on him. In the end a dispute arose between them, and to resolve their differences they drew lots.
Among the custodians of the House of God the draw came out in favor of Hazrat Zakariyya. So Maryam came under the tutelage and supervision of Hazrat Zakariyya and she gradually grew up engaged in nothing but worship and serving the House of God. (4)
Her purity and devotion reached such a stage that whenever Hazrat Zakariyya (as) went into Maryam's (sa) sanctuary; he found heavenly food beside her. He would ask in surprise, “Where does this food come from?”Maryam would reply,
“From Allah; truly Allah gives to everyone who He wants without reckoning.”

🍃 Zakariyya (as) and Yahya (as) 🍃
The wife of Zakaryya (as) was also, like the mother of Maryam barren, and for this reason Zakaryya had been without children till his old age. At that time when Zakaryya (as) was looking after the spiritual advancement of Maryam in her sanctuary and saw the infinite mercy of God towards her, he was taken with the desire to have a pious child like Maryam. So he raised his hands in supplication towards God and said,
“O God, I wish you to grant me a pure and pious child a child who will be a source of satisfaction to me, the inheritor of me and the House Of Ya'qub.”
🍃🕊🍃 Holy Quran 🍃🕊🍃
(3:38, 19:1-6)
Hazrat Zakaryya (as) was engaged in prayer in the sanctuary when angels said to him, “God gives you glad tidings of a child called Yahya who is of the righteous and devout prophets.”
Hazrat Zakaryya (as) who was himself old and weary and saw the barrenness and sterility of his wife (and to become pregnant in such conditions was a gift which could not be expected). He said with delight and surprise, “O God, in the state I and my wife are in, how can you grant me the favour of a child?”
In answer to this it was said, “This work is easy for God. Did God the Almighty not bring you forth from non-existence into being? “
Thus Hazrat Zakaryya (as) became one of the Divine prophets and throughout the whole of his life he called people to faith and salvation. In the end he was martyred by one of the kings of Bani Isra'il who wanted to marry the daughter of his own brother against the law of God, and to whom Hazrat Yahya had forbidden this.5
🍃 Isa, Jesus, the Messiah (as) 🍃
One day, Maryam (sa) (6) the girl who had grown up from infancy in the House of God and whose upbringing a prophet of the stature of Zakaryya had undertaken was engaged in worship when an angel appeared to her in the form of a man.
Maryam (sa) thought that he was a man, and in fear sought protection from God, but the angel gave her glad tidings, “I have come from your God to give you a pure and perfect son. “
Maryam (sa) said, “How, since no man has had contact with me and I am not a fornicatress.''
“Your God,” said the angel, says that this work is easy for Him; that it may be appointed as a sign and an indication of His Mercy.”
So Maryam (sa) became pregnant, and, since she had no husband some gossipers began to make obscene comments about her, and she became grieved so as to be free from these afflictions she took herself far from people, and had to go to a remote place. There she counted the days until the birth of her child.
At last, when the time of delivery arrived, she took refuge from her pain under a dry date palm in the desert, and in that very place she delivered her baby into the world without any mid-wife or nurse.
Loneliness fear of disgrace and the thought of how she would prove her chastity to people filled Maryam with so much anxiety that she said to herself, “Would that I had died before this and had been lost from people's memories.”
Then she heard a voice, which consoled her, “Do not grieve, your God has set under your feet a stream, refreshing to the soul. And shake the trunk of the withered date palm that fresh dates may tumble down for you. Eat, drink and calm your mind, and if you see any man point and say, “I have vowed a silent fast, and today I will not speak to any man.”
Miracles and unseen help, one after the other made Maryam courageous. So, because of this tranquility, she took her child back with her to the place where she had been living. When the people saw Maryam with the child clutched to her bosom, they began to chide her, and said, “Your father was not a bad man, nor was your mother unchaste.”
Without speaking, Maryam pointed to her child. That meant: ask from him what has happened, and you will get your answer.
“How shall we speak to a child of that age!” they said in amazement.
But Maryam's child spoke through the power of God, and in clear distinct speech said, “I am God's servant. He has given me the Book and has appointed me to be a prophet. And wherever I may be He has put me as the bearer of good news and with His blessing; and He has commanded me that as long as I live I should pray and give zakat and he has made me loving towards my mother Maryam.”
The clear mind of this child dumbfounded them and this great sign dispelled their incrimination of and suspicion toward Hazrat Maryam (As) and they knew that this infant was brought into existence by the Will of God without a father. And that in the future he would have great rank and responsibility.
🍃 Description of the Condition of People Before Prophet Jesus (as) 🍃
Before the birth of the Messiah, Palestine was in the hand of the Romans. But the people of Palestine, although they had no support to help them to eventual emancipation, were engage' in a struggle with the alien Romans. This continuous fight worsened the condition of Palestine and its people.
The economy was in a shambles and heavy oppressive taxes added to the evil. Free people were either anxious and in chains or were engaged in a life long struggle. Prosperous places came to a standstill and everything fell into ruin and became weakened even the faith of the Jews themselves, so that they no longer abided by the commands of their religion.
Perhaps this weakness of faith was a present for Roman colonisation from the people. Colonialism always has and always will use this gift, because in this kind of struggle the enemy has no need of arms. People who neglect and give up their faith, without their knowing, will be gradually annihilated.
Under these circumstances, in that time full of disturbance and agitation, the need was thoroughly felt for Divine leader to come and save the deviated people from their misfortunes and aberrations.
And thus it was that, with the expediency of the love and mercy of Allah, the Compassionate, Hazrat Isa (a.s.) came into this world. The birth of this beloved one was accompanied by wonders, all witnessed to his exalted and magnificent rank. These were Divine signs that he was God's leader and that the strong hand of God had brought him into existence to establish the great revolution.
🍃 The Message of Jesus (as) 🍃
The Injil descended to the person of Hazrat Isa (a.s.) to be a plan for the liberation of those who were lost. The revealed Injil (gospel) has disappeared and the Gospel which are now in the possession of the (Christians are not revealed books.
Hazrat Isa (a.s.) announced his prophetic message and started his activities on a large scale. He took great pains and sacrificed himself to save the Jews and to exterminate the roots of their deviations.
But the leaders of the Jews, who clung to their position and rank, and who thought that these would be destroyed by the coming of Hazrat 'Isa and feared his prophetic mission, plotted together to find ways to create a disturbance to check his progress.
Hazrat Isa (a.s.) was aware of their designs, but he was as steady as a rock, and thus dispensed his guidance and leadership, and informed the people of the superstitions and distortions that had crept into the religion of Hazrat Musa (a.s.).
Sometimes, while he was doing this, he would cure a sick person by the leave of God, or, similarly by His leave, bring to life a dead person, so that they would understand that he had come from God and had been sent by the Unique and Incomparable God.
🍃 The End of the Mission of Prophet Jesus (as) 🍃
Day by day, Hazrat Isa’s friends and followers increased, and the more they increased the more the opposition of the leaders of the Jews increased, to such an extent that they decided to do away with him.
But God concealed him from their eyes, and they crucified another by mistake who resembled Hazrat 'Isa (a.s.), and thus they believed in their error that they had crucified Hazrat 'Isa (a.s.). This fact has been explicitly stated in the Holy Qur'an:
But they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them; and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no certain knowledge but only conjecture to follow. For a surety they killed him not Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power and Wise. (4:157-158)
Therefore, the matters of the cross and the illogical embellishment, which were added to this matter are all without any foundation. For example, the Christians today say that every man is, in his essence, a sinner, although he may not have committed any sin during the whole of his life. That is why Hazrat 'Isa (a.s.) was crucified in the place of these men so that they might be spared the torment of Hell and its Fire. And that is why the Marcion and the Gnostics did not believe in the killing or crucifixion of the Messiah.
🍃 Prophet Isa, Messiah (as), or the Slave of God 🍃
What is clear from the Holy Qur’an and even from some of the New Testament which is at present in the possession of the Christians is that the Messiah always considered himself as God's slave, worshipped God, and called people to the worship of the One God. (The Gospel according to St. Mark ch. 12, v. 29.)
Hazrat Isa (a.s.) said:
“It is Allah, Who is my Lord and your Lord; then worship Him. This is a way that is straight.” (3:51)
Hazrat Isa (a.s.) never claimed to be a god, and if Christians know him and consider him as God, then it is their own imagining.
Nehru, in his book Glimpses of World History, wrote that the Messiah was never a claimant to divinity or to being a god, but that people like to turn their heroes into a kind of god.
Hazrat Isa (a.s.) was, like other prophets, a man to whom revelation came from God and who was moved to lead and guide society. If he had a miracle, other prophets also had miracles. If he was born without a father, Hazrat Adam (a.s.) was also created without a father or a mother, but no Christian thinks that he was the Son of God.
The Qur’an says:
The Messiah, son of Maryam, was no more than a messenger many were the messengers who passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their daily food. (5:75).
Like all other human beings, they were in need of the necessities of life.
This truth, which has come in the clear word of Allah - the Qur’an - agrees with both wisdom and the intellect, because a man, who, like other individuals, has no power from himself, and thus like other men and prophets is in need of the necessities of life like food and sleep. By the Judgement of wisdom, he does not deserve to be worshipped.
So, according to the intellect, and with the confirmation of the Holy Qur’an according to the existing New Testament (Gospel of St. Mark), and on the evidence of great historians, Hazrat Isa (a.s.) was the slave and messenger of God, and never laid claim to divinity.
But after Hazrat Isa (a.s.), his pure religion lost its genuineness and polytheism and idolatry found its way into it, so that Will Durant in his 'History of Civilization; has written that Christianity did not eradicate polytheism, but has rather adopted it.
Everyone who has studied Christian dogma will confirm that the historian has proved a historical fact. For even now such beliefs as the following are found among the followers of the Messiah.
1) Isa became separated from the essence of God and he is therefore not created, but is called the Son of God;
2) The Messiah was a man, but a man in whom God was incarnate;
3) The Messiah is himself God who showed himself in the form of man.
But we all know that God is not material as a result of which he could exist in space, or separate from himself parts and call himself the Son of God. And we also understand with our wisdom that God has no dimensions as a result of which he could be contained in something or incarnate himself or come forth in the likeness of man.
Moreover, how can it be possible that a God without any need should become in need of food and clothing?
Therefore, if the Christians ponder carefully, they will confess that the Messiah, like all other prophets, is the slave of Allah and has absolutely no claim to divinity.
The Qur’an says:
“They are unbelievers who say, “Allah is the Messiah, Maryam's son.” Say, “Who then shall overrule Allah in any way if He desires to destroy the Messiah, Maryam's son, and his mother, and all those who are on the earth? For to Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, creating what He will. Allah is Powerful over everything.” (5:17)
🍃 Sayings of the Messiah (as) 🍃
The Prophet of Islam, the great Messenger (S) said: The disciples asked Hazrat Isa (a.s.), “With whom should we associate?” He replied, “With those whose countenance recalls Allah, and whose speech adds to your knowledge, and whose actions make your eagerness for the concerns of the next world greater.”7
The Prophet (S) also said, “The disciples asked Hazrat Isa (a.s.) for guidance for them and he replied, “Musa, Kalim Allah, said to you, “Do not swear in the name of Allah what is a lie, but I say, “Do not swear in the name of Allah, even what is true.” The disciples asked for greater guidance, and he said, “The prophet of Allah, Musa, said to you, “Do not commit adultery.” But I say to you, “Do not even think of it, because everyone into whose head the thought of adultery enters is like the person who kindles a fire in a painted room, which even if it doesn't burn the room, at least blackens the paint.”'8
Amir al-mu'minin (a.s.), Hazrat 'Ali said, “The Messiah, the son of Maryam said, “Fortunate is he whose silence is thought and whose look gives advice; whose house gives him rest and comfort. He repents of his improper actions, and people obtain tranquility from his hand and tongue.'9
Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (a.s.) said, “Hazrat Isa (a.s.) said to his companions, “O sons of Adam, “Turn away from this world towards Allah, and do not enslave your heart to it, for you were not created for this world alone. It has no merit for you. You will not stay in it, and it will not remain for you. What a great many people are deceived and ruined! Whoever is attracted by it, and places his confidence in it will be lost. Whoever likes it and goes after it will perish.”10
He also said, “The Messiah (a.s.) told his followers, “Refrain from regarding others wives for it plants the bitter seed of passion in the heart of man and that is enough for your perdition. Alas for he whose aim is the pleasure of this world, and whose actions are sins! None of you know how tomorrow and at the time of resurrection he will be ashamed before Allah.”11

The Art of Courtly Love (written by Andreas Cappellanus, at the behest of Marie of Troyes) is a fascinating and wild fucking ride, maybe the wildest bit being the dialogue where the man and woman are arguing whether it is ever ever possible for a married couple to be in love, and to resolve the dispute, they write a letter to the medieval courtly love advice columnist the Countess of Champagne (aka Marie of Troyes), who responds with typical 12th-century long-windedness and absolute confidence:
"Now your letter has shown that this is the doubt that has arisen between you: whether love can have any place between husband and wife and whether between lovers jealousy is blameworthy; in both questions each of you falls back on his own opinion which side properly should get the decision. We have therefore examined carefully the statements of both sides and have in very truth inquired into the matter by every possible means, and we wish to end the case in this decision. We declare and we hold as firmly established that love cannot exert its powers between two people who are married to each other. For lovers give everything freely, under no compulsion of necessity, but married people are duty bound to give in to each other's desires and deny themselves to each other in nothing. Besides, how does it increase a husband's honor if after the manner of lovers he enjoys the embraces of his wife, since the worth of character of neither can be increased thereby, and they seem to have nothing more than they already had a right to? And we say the same thing for still another reason, which is that a precept of love tells us that no woman, even if she is married, can be crowned with the reward of the King of Love unless she is seen to be enlisted in the service of Love himself outside the bonds of wedlock. But another rule of Love teaches that no one can be in love with two men. Rightly, therefore, Love cannot acknowledge any rights of his between husband and wife. But there is still another argument that seems to stand in the way of this, which is that between them there can be no true jealousy, and without it true love may not exist, according to the rule of Love himself, which says, 'He who is jealous cannot love.' "
#now I don't pretend to follow all of those arguments#but I think the lady has made herself clear#and I for one am too scared to argue with her#the art of courtly love#medieval literature

who: @omerflorent where: the florent apartments within highgarden, shortly following everyone's departure from the reach. this is set before omer florent's visit to the riverlands.
omer florent had upset his wife. did he realise yet? probably not. would he realise it? sooner rather than later.
"i've got business to attend to in the riverlands....been pulled into da' nonsense between the idiots of raventree hall and the brackens. aye, i sent ronan a raven this morning to let him know i'd be travelling to see him." she could recognise her husband's voice anywhere. his words were enough to capture her attention, looking toward the archway to the other room where they were.
the longer she heard him speaking with his cousin, declan florent, who had come to see him from brightwater keep itself, the more she thought about drifting into the chamber with the gentleness of a tornado. declan florent held the position of the current heir of brightwater, working as the seneschal of the keep whilst the lord and lady took up residence within highgarden; their first meeting had been a somewhat tense one, considering the man had eyes which reminded her of a beaver and looked upon her incredibly carefully, as though he were waiting for her to pounce.
"aye, i do remember ya, my lady; lord hightower's cousin."
that in itself was enough to sense the feeling of suspicion the man held toward her, in which lucrezia's only reply was her hands crossing over the bodice of her gown and omer opening his mouth to say something. something she no longer were paying attention to. for half a moment, she had the inclination to confirm, insisting that yes, she was kin to the hightowers. instead, she kept her mouth shut, entirely dissociating for a few minutes whilst her husband and his kin started speaking rapidly in the tongue of brightwater.
and so now, whenever declan ventured forward from brightwater keep, their interaction was cordial; for she did not enjoy being in his presence for too long. she would come up for a reason to be in another room, never making it too obvious it were him she was avoiding. he were there in this moment, in the next room with omer, whilst she looked over a new petition put forward to the lord and lady that had been brought by declan himself.
the farmers were disputing land borders once again, this time including sheep numbers: the case seemed mundane, and able to be resolved by rebalancing the number of sheep by providing personally, until she noted something at the end.
they also accuse farmer john and his wife morra of using the aid of a woods witch, for their sheep all fell suddenly ill, and only three have survived. an investigation into the health of the sheep will be conducted. there was no mention of the woods witch; no mention of the other individual involved in the case, accused to distributing literal poisons. she looked at the parchment as though she were going mad - such matters were not included in the herbal house.
she quietly arose from her chair, noting the way grape seemed to look up from her place by the fire at the sound of the chair against the wooden floorboards. lucrezia absentmindedly made her way over to lovingly stroke the top of her head, hearing the sounds of the men finishing up their discussion, with declan continuing to talk as he were halfway out the door in that loud way the men of brightwater often did with one another. she crossed into the room with enough time to wave him goodbye, before letting the door close behind her.
she looked at omer, her face blank; it were obvious to see she were upset with something. "the riverlands?" she asked, her voice attempting to hide how upset she seemed to be at what she had overheard from the other room. it were not working, for her tone sounded on edge and strained. it were obvious she had been given enough time to stew on her feelings, as she read the petition over and over again. "is your pregnant wife there or here?"
#c: omer#omer 012#this moment of timing when your soul needs aligning it's me you confide in (holy water baby let me drown you the fox and the wine)#no time no compass gave me no signs ; and isn't it pretty to think all along there was some invisible string tying you to me? I dreamt that because of a great flood, most of humanity was now living on ships. The floods caused food shortages, and each ship - whether it was a small sailboat with a primitive roof housing a family of fishermen, or a large ship belonging to a noble family housing aristocrats, their servants and their guests - acted as its own economic unit. Money still technically existed, but due to major changes in the fabric of society, there was a slow but noticeable shift back to a barter economy. The two main commodities were food and narcotics.
First we followed a pre-flood feudal economy. A small village struggling to produce the amount of pineapples the king demanded of them. It wasn't a question of whether they had enough to eat - they were practically starving - but whether they could loot enough to give to the king's men so they wouldn't tear their village to pieces. So much bloodshed on such an empty stomach.
Then, post-flood economy. We follow a noble house. This is a patriarchal society where every member of a noble household (relatives and servants) are formally subordinate to the patriarch. It is, however, more complicated than that. A huge amount of importance is put on scrying, prophecy, and dream visions, with minor prophets springing up everywhere. Those who predicted the flood before it happened have gained a substantial amount of power. At least 5% of the population now claims to have some prophetic ability.
These prophecies - some of which are granted more credibility than others - influence matters of family. In some ways, this society resembles Ancient Rome: divorce, remarriage, and adoption (including adult adoption) are incredibly commonplace, and ordained by politicking and prophecy. We follow one such household. A woman (who looks exactly like Marcia Succession) is married to a new husband. He is probably her fifth husband. Their match was ordained by a generally credible prophet, so she accepted it.
A few months into their marriage, however, husband and wife get into a theological argument. Something involving mushrooms. Resolving it is of such importance to the husband that he embarks on a solo journey in a tiny canoe to speak to a remote oracle, leaving his wife with primary command of the ship.
There is a power struggle between her and the most important servant, who attempts to execute far more control than is technically her right. The wife resents her, and they have many disputes were both are clearly seething and finding it very difficult to restrain themselves from screaming at each other. Oh also the servant looks like Mrs Cobell (??) from Severance fame or whatever her name was. The one with grey hair.
The arguments are always started by the servant, who chides her master's wife on matters of moral conduct, religion, and childrearing. Their relationship is complicated because the servant was part of the patriarch's household, and thus, has known him longer than his wife has. He clearly puts a lot of trust in her, as, while he gives control of most matters to his wife, he makes the servant responsible for the household ship's drug trade during his absence - something he is usually involved in.
And the wife doesn't WANT control over the drug trade because she has no experience with it and also disapproves of it but pragmatically accepts it as an inextricable part of post-flood society. But she also doesn't want the servant whom she REALLY does not trust at all and sees as a spy to have said control either. And it must be handed to the servant that she is very good at trade.
But once the servant crosses a line - she orders her mistress to do something instead of passively aggressively criticising her. And also the wife sees it as a ploy to try to extract information from someone about something important. I don't know what. But something important. And she snaps and yells at her and says that it is she who has sole command of the ship in the absence of her husband, and that the servant had better watch her tongue, because there is nothing stopping her from throwing her overboard.
And the servant backs down and says, through gritted teeth "of course your ladyship.... Btw I completed that drug deal so we are now significantly richer. Anyway I'm off to my quarters now". Then I woke up so I couldn't say exactly what it did to their power dynamic.
Another fact about this society that I didn't know how to weave in: the nobility is FAR more traditionalist, religious, and believes more in prophecy (which is kind of in conflict with the traditionalism - as prophecy was a way more fringe part of their religion before the flood. But after many prophets were completely right about predicting the flood everyone was like OH SHIT and started taking them seriously. But the nobility moreso than the common people).
Divorce and remarriage and adoption are, as above, very common, but again, more widespread among the nobles. The flood killed many and left countless orphaned children, which common people would adopt. But for the nobles it was complex and political and the average noble would go through AT LEAST three spouses in a lifetime.
The marital age was very young - and even younger for women than it was for men. And when a remarriage happened - because someone was widowed or divorced or sometimes because prophets were like "you must marry this man right now! Divorce your current husband NOW!!!" there would always be a lengthy and tedious process determining whether each member of two household-ships (from the couple's siblings to the scullery maids) would remain on their household-ships or move to the other. And it was, of course, orchestrated by minor prophets and diviners.

So there's a guy who calls in all the time named Tony. He literally calls at least two or three times a week, and often multiple times each day that he calls. He is extremely unpleasant. Yells at you and constantly interrupts you whenever you try to answer his questions. There's an issue with his account that goes back to January of this year. But the thing is, the problem isn't the issue itself. That was resolved long ago. Long story short, there was an issue with a $1400 payment he made, a check that was sent that we didn't get so he put a stop payment on it and sent us another check. Only the first check eventually showed up and we cashed it, but then of course it came back returned
He agrees that that was what happened. But the problem is that there was also a payment dispute on the account which again was resolved. Only, he keeps calling in about it, gets agents confused and they open up new payment disputes which then put a temporary credit on his account that gets reversed
This keeps happening. Then he complains that his balance is all wrong. Multiple times we've gone over every single transaction and showed that the balance is correct. He'll seem to accept that, but then call in again demanding to know why his balance is "wrong". Oh, and then he'll also demand to know "why it takes 8 months to fix this problem" .... dude, it was fixed long ago, but you keep restarting the problem
By now he's spoken with every single person in my department multiple times. And it's gotten to the point that when someone gets him they'll post in our work Teams chat "Tony [last name] is calling in again" to warn everyone else
So, today I got him. But this time his wife was also on the line. And she was yelling at him. "The lady this morning already went over the transactions, Tony! The balance is right!" and then at one point she told him "You don't know what you're talking about" and "I'm sick of hearing this every day!"
And honestly I feel sorry for her, living with Tony, and the way they were arguing about this issue, I doubt their relationship is all rainbows and sunshine outside of this issue either. But also, some of the things she said to him, I had to keep myself from laughing. But, yeah, she seems a lot more sensible than her husband
Also, the calls are usually long. You're lucky if you get off in a half-hour. Though, one time I got really lucky and the call dropped about three minutes in

Matrimonial DisputeDomestic Violence Help
The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 governs Hindu marriages in India, covering various aspects like marriage validity, divorce grounds, maintenance, custody of children, and more. Matrimonial disputes often involve sensitive issues, including domestic violence. Family courts in Noida, Noida Extension, and Greater Noida follow a structured approach to resolve these disputes and ensure fair and just outcomes. Here are key points regarding the Hindu Marriage Act in the context of matrimonial disputes and domestic violence:
Validity of Marriage:
The Act lays down conditions for a valid Hindu marriage, such as the age of the parties, mental capacity, absence of prohibited relationships, and mutual consent. Matrimonial disputes often arise when one of these conditions is not met.
Grounds for Divorce:
The Hindu Marriage Act provides for both fault-based and no-fault divorce grounds. Some of the fault-based grounds include cruelty, adultery, desertion, conversion to another religion, mental disorder, and domestic violence. The Act also includes provisions for divorce by mutual consent, making it easier for spouses to part ways amicably.
Maintenance and Alimony:
The Act allows for the payment of maintenance to the spouse (either husband or wife) if they do not have sufficient income to support themselves. This is particularly relevant in cases involving domestic violence, where one spouse may be financially dependent on the other.
Child Custody:
The Hindu Marriage Act considers the welfare of the child as the most important factor in custody matters. It also allows for the appointment of a guardian in certain cases, ensuring the child’s well-being is prioritized.
Restitution of Conjugal Rights:
Provisions for the restitution of conjugal rights allow a spouse to request the other to resume cohabitation, which can be significant in domestic violence cases where the emotional bond is strained.
Void and Voidable Marriages:
The Act specifies conditions under which a marriage can be considered void or voidable. Void marriages are null and have no legal validity, while voidable marriages can be annulled by the court.
Property Rights:
The Act addresses the property rights of spouses, including maintenance, stridhan (gifts received by the wife), and more, which can be critical in domestic violence cases.
Registration of Marriages:
The Act provides for the registration of Hindu marriages. Though not mandatory, registering a marriage ensures legal recognition, especially in cases involving matrimonial disputes and domestic violence.
Jurisdiction:
The Hindu Marriage Act specifies the courts that have jurisdiction over matters related to Hindu marriages and divorces, including cases involving domestic violence.
Addressing Domestic Violence in Matrimonial Disputes:
Domestic violence is a critical issue in many matrimonial disputes. Family courts in Noida, Noida Extension, and Greater Noida are well-equipped to handle these cases seriously, ensuring victims are protected under the law. Lawyers specializing in domestic violence cases provide crucial support, helping victims seek justice.
Role of Mediation in Family and Matrimonial Disputes:
Mediation plays a significant role in resolving family and matrimonial disputes, including cases. Skilled mediators in Noida and Noida Extension help the parties reach an amicable domestic violence settlement, reducing the emotional and financial toll of prolonged litigation.
Settlement Agreements in Matrimonial Disputes:
Settlement agreements are often key to resolving matrimonial disputes, especially when domestic violence is involved. Lawyers in Greater Noida specialize in drafting and negotiating these agreements to ensure fair outcomes for all parties.
When dealing with domestic violence and matrimonial disputes under the Hindu Marriage Act, consulting with a qualified family law attorney is essential. A family law attorney familiar with the Act can guide you through the legal process, offering personalized advice based on your specific circumstances. Laws and regulations can vary, so it’s important to seek expert guidance tailored to your needs.
By consulting a domestic violence lawyer in Noida or Greater Noida, you can take the necessary legal steps to protect your rights and find a fair resolution to your matrimonial disputes.

🍃🕊🍃 Holy Quran 🍃🕊🍃
(3:37)
1) Isa became separated from the essence of God and he is therefore not created, but is called the Son of God;
2) The Messiah was a man, but a man in whom God was incarnate;

Supreme Court Issues 8 Guidelines for Alimony Decisions After Bengaluru Techie’s Tragic Suicide
In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court has established an eight-point formula to determine alimony amounts in divorce cases. This decision comes amid the tragic suicide of Bengaluru-based techie Atul Subhash, who accused his estranged wife and in-laws of harassment for money.
Atul Subhash, originally from Bihar, recorded an 80-minute video and left behind a 24-page suicide note before ending his life. In these, he accused his wife, Nikita Singhania, and her family of extortion and harassment and expressed his frustration with the justice system.
The case brought national attention to the challenges faced in marital disputes and the need for fair mechanisms in determining alimony. A Supreme Court bench consisting of Justices Vikram Nath and Prasanna B Varale ruled on a divorce case involving a Hindu couple who were married for six years but lived apart for nearly two decades.
The husband alleged that the wife was overly sensitive and distant from his family, while the wife accused him of mistreatment. In this context, the court outlined the following eight factors to guide the determination of alimony amounts:
1. Status of the Parties: Social and financial standing of both the husband and wife.
2. Reasonable Needs of the Wife and Children: Ensuring the wife and dependent children have adequate financial support.
3. Employment Status and Qualifications: Evaluating the professional capabilities and job situations of both parties.
4. Independent Income or Assets: Assessing the applicant’s existing income or properties.
5. Standard of Living: Considering the lifestyle enjoyed by the wife during the marriage.
6. Employment Sacrifices: Accounting for career compromises made by the wife due to family responsibilities.
7. Litigation Costs: Covering reasonable legal expenses for a non-working wife.
8. Financial Capacity of the Husband: Analyzing the husband’s income, existing liabilities, and other financial obligations.
This framework aims to ensure a balanced and fair outcome in divorce cases, considering the financial and social aspects of both parties.
The decision highlights the importance of fairness in resolving marital disputes and sets a precedent for handling future cases. Atul Subhash’s tragic death has sparked discussions about the need for stronger protections against harassment and better justice mechanisms for those facing marital discord.
