How To Freshen Up A Space With Paint
Whether you are on a tight budget or just looking for a quick and easy way to upgrade your space, a few coats of paint can go a long way. Brighten up walls with a new eye-catching hue or get a little funky and paint the insides of your kitchen cabinets a vibrant shade of blue. It's a great way to infuse your home with a little personality without having to throw down mad cash and also if you decide the color no longer fits your furnishings or taste, it's easy to swap out for a new one. And also, the experience of your Painters in Perth will also affect the process of painting which offer the best prospect for your modern Painting in Perth.

Walls
Wall Painting is the most obvious way to transform your home with paint. An accent wall will allow you to introduce a pop of color without going all out, while a soft neutral hue can help transform your space into a serene escape.
Compared to traditional latex, semi-gloss paints, pure acrylic paint dries into a thicker film. This helps to hide blemishes underneath while providing an extra level of durability. The Valspar Signature dries into a satin finish that is a good middle ground sheen between flat and high gloss options.
Ceilings
Ceilings are typically white, but there's no rule that says they have to be. Introduce a little wow-factor to any room by getting creative in this oft-forgotten space. Vibrant colors, bold stripes, unexpected geometric patterns and even murals — almost anything goes. Just make sure to give your ceiling a thorough cleaning before getting started.
Painting ceilings is easier with a sprayer or spray-on paint, and flat latex is the best choice for textured surfaces like popcorn ceilings. Glazes can be used to coat paint and create a reflective sheen. Eggshell and satin finishes offer a slight sheen as well.
Floors
Refinishing floors doesn't always come on the cheap and if you do decide to take matters into your own hands, be prepared to dedicate an entire weekend or two (or even three) to do it. But a little pick-me-up doesn't have to come in the form of refinishing, there is another option — jazz them up with a durable coat of paint. Go for solid color or take a tiled approach for a bit of texture and personality. Of course you will need to do a bit of prep beforehand, like rubbing off the finish with a sanding sponge and giving the floor a good cleaning with a damp cloth. Put on a layer of primer, then get to layering on the paint, cutting the edges with a brush first. Work in thin coats with a roller and allow each to dry thoroughly for best results.
Buy a latex paint especially formulated for floors or decks. Floor and deck paints often come in a semi-gloss finish, because you're going to top the paint with polyurethane, you don't want that. The polyurethane will provide the shine and it will adhere better to flat paint than glossy.
Stairs
Paint a runner is a great way to brighten up your stairwell, an often overlooked though highly trafficked space. Like floors, you'll want to sand and prime your stairs first before adding a base coat, which you'll applying using a 3″ angled brush. To create the runner itself, have a 2″ angled brush on hand and use painter's tape to mark your desired runner width. Apply a coat of paint, allowing to fully dry before adding on another. Once it's dry, add a few coats of protectant seal.
High-gloss paint is more washable and durable than matte finish, but it highlights imperfections. Unless you plan to sand the stairs smooth and protect them from high-heel dents or pet-claw scrapes, go with semigloss paint.
Furniture
Furnishings can be just as important as architectural features in terms of bringing character to a room, so if you're looking to change things up, this isn't a bad place to start. A simple can of paint can unlock so much potential in tried-and-true pieces, whether they be hand-me-downs, rare vintage finds or even old Ikea staples. Get funky with patterns and multiple colors or take the classic route and layer on a coat or two of varnish. Sanding and priming the piece before painting will help you achieve beautiful results and don't forget a final protectant coat! Replacing the existing hardware with new nobs or handles is another easy fix that will really take things to the next level.
It's best to use a satin or semigloss finish in either a latex or an oil-based paint. Never leave primer unpainted. If you choose a latex paint, a latex primer is an excellent choice for most uses. It goes on easily and blocks most stains, but it doesn't have the odor of an oil-based primer.
Kitchen Cabinets
Remodeling your kitchen will majorly up your home's value, but it requires some serious investment. Painting your cabinets is a fairly easy and economical alternative that will instantly give your kitchen or bathroom a facelift. Keep in mind that some surfaces will be easier to paint than others, unfinished wood, wood laminate and metal are easy to work with, while plastic laminate might require the help of a professional. Remove the doors before painting and don't forget to sand, clean, prime and seal. This is another place where new hardware can make a huge difference.
Semigloss, gloss, or satin—the harder the finish the better. Matte paint on kitchen cabinets is impractical; I wouldn't even use eggshell finish. You want a surface that's durable and wipeable, so you won't be painting again for at least a few years.
