And so again the hollow pitter-patter of the rain on broad June leaves

as the hungry, hungry sky swallows the deep blue hills. The soft sounds of an approaching storm echo through the forest, as the wind gently plays with the leaves overhead. The sky is a deep, dark blue, as if painted with a brush. From the horizon, a distant rumbling can be heard, as the storm draws nearer. The trees bend slightly with the force of the oncoming weather, and the leaves begin to rustle more noticeably. As the storm approaches, the forest grows darker and gloomier, the sounds of rain ever louder. This is a rainstorm that is sure to last some time.

Will it? Because that's what I think every time I look at these blank pages, and the only thing coming from the spilled ink is pain and sadness. A few patches of color blotted out by the black, not even an artist can make it pretty. No painting over, just empty void.

The sun glowed a magnificent orange as it slowly sank beneath the horizon. It's light shone through a smoke plume of a nearby wildfire, which made the sunset look like a painting. The heat of the blaze mixed with a gentle breeze, and the smell of burning wood filled the air. It truly was a beautiful sight.
