Aelynn tips her head back off of the side of the sofa, staring out the window.

The purpleblood sighs, tapping a cigarette against the ashtray besides him. Even now, he's still in mostly formal wear, waistcoat and suit jacket and all, but he looks exactly where he is supposed to be, in a clearly aging manor, right at home.

"None of the above. I got discharged a long time ago for... conflict of interest."

You get the feeling that there is more to it, but he doesn't elaborate.

"I've worked freelance ever since."

He taps the laptop sitting on the table next to his chair, some array of programs open on the screen.

"Probably won't stop working until I die. Some things never change."

So what I’m hearing is that Rennra would pitchflirt by accusing someone older of having no rizz and being maidenless and watch the confusion and irritation blossom in their eyes

"I don't know if I'd lay it on that thick, I don't want to seem too immature, but I do think it would be funny."

🧪 Rennra, do you ever wish you had also grown up in the Suits Carnival, so that you could have stayed with Aelynn and possibly learnt more about your voodoos?

🌱 Rennra! What makes you the most happiest right now?

No one by that name currently exists at this point in time, but your question gets addressed to a purpleblood child wearing a purple bracelet around one arm.

"I um..."

They seem a little alarmed about being addressed all of a sudden, ducking to hide behind their twin sister, who is wearing a matching red bracelet. Other than that, they're completely identical.

Aelynn looks at her sibling for a moment but doesn't answer on behalf of them, just furrowing her eyebrows and nudging them to prompt them to answer.

"I dunno... I guess um... I'm happy when we go to the city. Or uh, um... Sometimes, our lusus takes us to this forest super far away-"

"Only 2 hours!"

"Two hours away! And we have a picnic there by the lake."

"I don't like the lake."

"I do. I want to take one of those boats with the sticks and have the picnic in the boat. But apparently it's dangerous."

They mumble something unintelligible about picnic food, before they turn around and dash out of the room without much other warning. Aelynn watches them leave, before turning back to get the last word in.

"Because of the lakedwellers!"

She nods, and then quickly turns to run after her twin.

"Of course."

"...There were incidents while I was in school... And university. Personally, I think it benefited me, I was able to stay inside for recesses and I was allowed to type my essays instead of handwriting things."

Also.. What's your position for work? Whattya do? What do you do off the clock?

"I am a Pre-Fleet Recruit Training Coordinator."

"In short, we run training classes for trolls intending to enter the Fleet immediately after reaching eligible age, and I am responsible for organising the classes, schedules, teachers and equipment."

"It's a lot of paperwork and emails."

"Off the clock is occupied by sleeping, mostly, since most days I have overtime and the train home takes a while... But I have a small sailing boat to spend my days off."
