Renault Floride Coupé, 1958. Designed by Pietro Frua when he was working for Carrozzeria Ghia, the Floride was a coupé and convertible based on the Renault Dauphine. Conceived specifically for the US market where the Dauphine was struggling, a convention of Renault dealers held in Florida demanded a coupé/convertible to improve Renault's image in North America. In English speaking markets including the US the Floride was renamed the Caravelle. It remained in production until 1968 though by that time sales had dropped off considerably.

Classic Elegance of the 1960 Renault Floride (R1092) with Hard-Top
Rediscovering the Quintessential Classic The Renault Caravelle emerged as a sports car produced and marketed by Renault during its single-generation run from 1958 to 1968. This sleek, open two/four-seater was conceptualized by Pietro Frua of Carrozzeria Ghia and utilized the floorpan and engine derived from the Renault Dauphine. “Guilty pleasure”
1958 Renault Floride 🇫🇷
Utilising the running gear of the economical Dauphine and the same floor pan slightly lengthened, the chic, sculptured Floride with its cleverly disguised rear engine was designed by the Italian Pietro Frua and built for Renault by Chausson with final assembly and trim, virtually by hand, by Brissoneau and Lotz. Although the genius of another Italian, engineer Amédée Gordini, increased the output of the small Dauphine engine somewhat, the first model was dubbed ‘a sheep in wolf’s clothing.
Available exclusively for “No Limits” and “All Inclusive” tiers this August. Since September 1’st. Available for All Inclusive tier only.
Model with HQ interior and functional light.
