The founder of the spyware app pcTattletale said his company is “out of business and completely done” following a data breach over the weekend. The shutdown comes days after a hacker defaced the spyware maker’s website and published links containing large amounts of data from pcTattletale’s servers, including databases of customers’ information and some victims’ stolen data. pcTattletale was a remote surveillance app — often known as “stalkerware” for its ability to track people without their knowledge — that allowed the person who planted the app to remotely view screenshots of the victim’s Android or Windows device and its private data from anywhere in the world. pcTattletale advertised its spyware app as a way to monitor employees, but also openly promoted its ability to snoop on spouses and domestic partners without their consent, which is illegal.

Vice Admiral Krastina was on duty in the inner segment of the Sol system to monitor a crucial mining aspect of the Dyson Sphere construction. Well, closer to a ring-like skeleton. It'll take far more than a few minor moons to approach even a thousandth of completion.
The current power output was astonishing already, yet not even close to a fraction of what the planetary Warp Gate required. The logistics crew are looking for a more... creative source of materials.
The Sol system was abuzz with activity. Massive orbital construction projects, terraforming Mars and Venus, strip mining some of Jupiter and Saturn's more useless moons, if not outright breaking them down, and the thousands of emerging research stations given a blank check and left to their own devices. A bustling and eager young space faring civilization. Also known as a target rich environment for prospecting rogue elements.
No matter how broad and all encompassing the Galactic Coalition strives to be - space is vast. Some might say infinite. Within infinity all possibilities are real. Maybe nowhere close, perhaps not any time soon, but if it's even remotely possible, then it is guaranteed to be.
Of those limitless variations, Rogue Pirate Admiral (self proclaimed) Big Thrasher (self nicknamed), was in charge of the undisputedly most powerful independent fleet (self assessed, would be disputed if the topic was brought up outside his fleet) in the entire Galaxy (has not operated outside a small cluster of sixteen systems), and he has set his sight (wears an eyepatch just for show) on the refinery station around Mercury.
It's the perfect plan (has not updated the fleets database on Humanity in months) with no chance of failure (failure is always possible). He has accounted for Everything (literally the opposite is true)!
He commands all ships to enter hyperspace and emerge danger close. The hummies won't know what hit 'em. Hehehehee...

MOTHRA operatives embedded in Brazilian media are to monitor and suppress any mention of Celso Portiolli and the "MOTHRA Institute" in connection with ANM-538-related events. A cover story involving an unrelated financial investigation is to be used to discredit any journalists, influencers, or individuals attempting to uncover the truth.
Description: ANM-538 is an anomalous document titled "September 11 and How I Started to Evade Taxes", written in Portuguese and attributed to Brazilian television presenter Celso Portiolli. Their aim was to create a global event of unprecedented scale, thereby providing MOTHRA the opportunity to manipulate financial markets in the aftermath of the tragedy.

Addendum ANM-538-A:
Following our documentation of ANM-538, we discovered that agents of another unknown secret foundation agents were dispatched to investigate the authenticity of Portiolli's claims regarding his involvement with ANM-538. Upon questioning, Portiolli denied all knowledge of ANM-538 and insisted that he has no connection to any such organization.
Efforts to locate the mysterious Foundation have so far proven unsuccessful. The organization remains highly elusive, with no physical traces found.

Among the many victims of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine are some of the most important ecosystems in Eastern Europe: Ukraine’s forests and protected areas.
The full extent of the damage, however, is unknown. That’s why we are launching a new tool that will help open source researchers track destruction from afar.
In September 2022, Ukrainian environmental researchers visited national parks — which are more resilient to climate change than artificial plantings and support crucial biodiversity—to assess damage to forests and wildlife. Initial findings revealed broken trees, damaged root systems due to trench digging and unexploded munitions scattered across protected lands.
“Forests have suffered a lot on the frontline… huge areas of forests are being mined”, Yehor Hrynyk, an environmental campaigner at the Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group, told Bellingcat. But large parts of Ukraine’s vast national parks, mountainous regions and woodlands are inaccessible for on-the-ground environmental monitoring.
That’s where open source techniques come in.
The OSINT Forest Area Tracker
We’ve launched the “OSINT Forest Area Tracker”, hosted on Google Earth Engine. Our tool compares data collected by Sentinel-2, a satellite which detects changes in infrared wavelengths and can be used to study the health of forests.
The tool reveals the scale and intensity of anomalous changes on land. This narrows down search areas for researchers working on environmental damage in Ukraine.
Importantly, the map does not attribute the cause of these changes, meaning that it is crucial to find corroborating evidence from other sources before concluding that they were the result of military activity.
The tool uses the Normalised Burn Ratio (NBR) index to estimate burn severity.
Researchers can also use the tool to select custom date ranges for geographic locations of interest.
As Ukraine’s official database of protected areas includes over 7,500 sites, we chose not to study them all — among their number are botanical gardens, city parks and archaeological sites. That list also includes many areas in the far west of the country which have not seen intense conflict.
Therefore, we selected 16 areas which featured the highest number of detected fires over the first year of the war, based on Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data. MODIS is a sensor which allows satellites to detect thermal anomalies, including fires in active war zones (Along with VIIRS, MODIS data can be accessed on the FIRMS system; you can read more about its use to open source researchers here). We also added Svyati Hory National Park because of its proximity to fighting. The tool includes a drop down list preset areas from across the country, including those near military activity. These preset areas are referred to by their acronyms, for example SHNP for Svyati Hory National Park. A full list of these acronyms can be found on the tool’s GitHub page. If researchers are interested in areas of the country not included in the dropdown menu, the coordinates can be entered manually.
While the new tool focuses on Ukraine by default, the methods it employs could be used to analyse areas elsewhere in the world.

Future Development
In the case of Svyati Hory, the tool identified damage to a protected area which deserved further investigation. In the case of the Kinburn Spit, it allowed us to further verify existing open source claims about an attack which had caused damage to a forest – also enriching our knowledge about the extent of the damage, which was less easily visible on real colour satellite imagery. However, both cases demonstrate the importance of corroborating the tool’s findings with other sources before drawing any conclusions about the causes of such damage. The author will continue refining and improving this tool in order to better understand the scale of damage to Ukraine’s many protected areas. Feedback or suggestions for improvements are welcomed. how does the capture styler thing work? Is it just like a pokeball??
Oh boy. Okay, I’m not a like, tech person but I will do my best to explain. Long post ahead.
So for my followers who don’t know, some rangers operate with a capture styler to help them recruit wild pokemon on their missions, as opposed to working with a standard team of pokemon of their own. The styler has two parts, the base styler itself (pic below) and the capture disk, which looks kinda like a spinning top. The capture disk is launched from the styler and then basically remote controlled. You can control the disk to wrap wild pokemon up by leading the disk in circles around it, and once you’ve drawn enough circles the pokemon can be successfully ‘captured’. If the pokemon attacks the disk or the line that is being drawn around it, the damage will eventually cause the disk to disconnect from the styler. If that happens you have to either grab a back up disk or find a different way to solve whatever problem you’re having.
It’s pretty different from capturing a pokemon in a pokeball for a bunch of reasons. A pokemon captured with a styler is still considered a wild pokemon for all intents and purposes. Capturing will briefly calm a wild pokemon, and help establish some communication between the wild pokemon and the ranger. This is mostly just because in addition to the calming effect, the pokemon will also generally stay focused on the ranger and view them as a friend. Capturing doesn’t magically enable us to speak to wild pokemon in the same language as them (sadly), but it does establish enough of a bond that we can get them to help put out a fire, or move a fallen tree, or just hold still while we treat an injury. Stuff like that.
Capturing is also pretty temporary. Eventually that wild pokemon will get bored of hanging out with you, and will likely wander off to continue its wild pokemon life. Once it gets far enough away the effects of the capture will disappear. Most rangers are also not allowed to lead wild pokemon outside of their natural habitat, for I think obvious reasons. The sylers will track where a pokemon is captured and send an alert when you get too far away from their home, warning you that the pokemon will be released automatically if you go much further. This feature doesn’t apply to Top Rangers, but that’s a different conversation.
Partner pokemon, the one that stays by the ranger’s side the whole time, can also assist in captures by providing ‘poke-assists’. This will affect the behaviour of the capture disk in different ways depending on the type of pokemon providing the assist. Michael, my mightyena, can help lengthen the range of the capture disk to make capturing larger wild pokemon way easier.
Lastly, capturing also does a pretty thorough scan of the pokemon. Once a pokemon is captured we can see if it’s hurt, how old it is, and any previous trainers who might have caught it in a pokeball (that data stays tied to the pokemon forever, even after release). That last one is super helpful for determining if a trainer released a pokemon into a habitat it doesn’t belong in, which can result in fines (which is a stupid punishment, but I digress) or suspension of league participation. The data from captured pokemon is recorded and stays with the ranger union database so that rangers and their home-base operators can monitor population levels and overall health of the pokemon in a given area. We also share that data with pokemon researchers when applicable.
Generally, rangers who are new to an area (i.e., they were trained and imported from out of the region), and field op rangers (who take on more specialized missions – that’s me!) are the only ones equipped with stylers. Sadly, not ever ranger can be equipped with one, as they are expensive and only produced in Almia. The idea is that rangers who are familiar with the area they are ranging in don’t need the added boost of being able to quickly bond with wild pokemon, as they should already have a pretty good grasp on the pokemon in that area. Rangers without stylers also tend to keep larger teams of pokemon with them in their pokeballs. Also, you have to complete special courses to use a capture styler (or just be friends with a chill ranger…shhh).

There’s a hand on either side of their face, when they finish rebooting, and they find themselves looking at a troll that they don’t recognize.
Database Search: Unavailable.
The troll before them has wide fins and wild hair, and the droid can see their housing reflected in a pair of wing-shaved sunglasses. They can feel the current running from the troll’s palms, past the speakers that they talk through, and one side has already been heavily damaged.
They lift a limb to push the troll’s hands away as gently as they can, given the fact that their systems are still recovering from running out of power. The troll is rattling off something too fussed for them to care, so M594275 just raises their volume over the voice.
“While I appreciate the power, you’re going to do unnecessary damage if you continue like this. Please return me to a charging station, or consult my mechanics, if I’m unavailable, in the future.”
They’re sure that the troll can hear their annoyance, even if one speaker is cutting in and out as it dies. Who would try to recharge a robot through the face plating? Just because this model hasn’t got the detailed expressing that others do doesn’t mean that there aren’t still delicate pieces under the surface. Maker, this fuchsia must be stupid. Or under duress. But even if that’s the case, it was still a poor decision. One that risked one of their fastest means of communication, until replacements can be brought in.
“Who needs examination?”
The troll blinks at their question, her fins pressing back against her hair.
“What? What sort of exam-“
“You restarted a medical droid in one of the most absurd ways I’ve come across yet, obviously there’s an emergency, or you’ve just tried to fry my speakers for nothing.”
The air between them sparks a moment, and the troll cocks their head to one side a little.
“Why the hell were you shipping a medic with navigational equipment? This wasn’t even supposed to be a- shit. Res, fuck off-“
The droid follows her eyeliner to another seadweller, this one with bright red fins and an eyepatch. One who seems to have very little intention of fucking off, even as the fuchsia tries to wave him off.
“You got it back on, nice! What’s it do?”
If they had teeth, they would threaten to bite the man, with how he’s prodding at the mesh vents on either side of their face, intended to protect their speakers from debris. When one isn’t running psionic currents directly through said speakers, at least. They spare the first troll a glare, but she’s spared the brunt of it by their bangs.
“I’m a medical unit. I specialize in surgical procedures, but-“
“It’s fleet, dude, fuck off. Fisvet’s gonna lose her shit if he’s gotta cover your ass twice in one week, and I can’t do shit if I’m having to power the ship!”
“That’s what we have backup power for, chill-“
“Backup power that we’ve been using for nights now so I can help you get shit sorted, yeah!”
M594275 just wants them to stop.
“Technically, I’m not combat ready, and my connection to any systems is offline. If you’re worried about getting reported for a mutant, don’t. I don’t care if you live or die, so long as it’s not on my watch.”
It would hardly be the first time they’ve turned a blind eye. Pandor hardly monitors their data anymore, and she’s always been enough of a bleeding heart that they doubt it would be of much concern even if she did. They sincerely doubt that, if this person got hurt, it would be remotely connected to their presence. That’s simply not what they were made for.
Not that the information has done much for the bickering, though.
