La vieja Máquina de escribir

En la mesa antigua reposa, una máquina de escribir, su teclado lleno de polvo, sus cintas listas para vivir.

Una reliquia del pasado, que escribió cartas de amor, poemas de eterna belleza, y novelas de gran valor.

Sus teclas, alguna vez fuertes, ahora tiemblan con el viento, pero su alma sigue viva, en cada letra y momento.

Testigo de tantas historias, de tantas vidas y pasiones, esta vieja máquina de escribir, sigue guardando sus emociones.

Aunque muchos la hayan olvidado, su valor sigue siendo igual, porque en sus teclas y engranajes, se esconde un trozo de verdad.

Oh, vieja máquina de escribir, tu tiempo ya se ha ido, pero tu legado y tu alma, en nuestros corazones ha vivido.

La dueña alza el cuerpezuelo, llora muy recio y maldice quien al laustic asechara, la obra de lazos e ingenios, pues su gran dicha le roba: «¡Cuitada, qué mal me aqueja, ya no me alzaré de noche ni me pondrá a la ventana, cual solía, a ver mi amigo! Una cosa sé de cierto: creerá él que me celo… me conviene que lo sepa. El laustic le haré llegar, contar le he la malandanza». Y en un paño de jamete, leyendado en obra de oro, al avecilla amortaja. Llama luego un paje suyo, le encomienda su mensaje y a su amigo lo despacha. Llégase éste al caballero, lo saluda por la dama, todo el mensaje le cuenta, y del laustic le hace entrega. Ya dicho todo y mostrado, que cabalmente lo oyera, tiene del lance gran duelo; mas sin ruindad ni tardanza manda forjar un escriño, no de yerro ni de acero, sino de oro fino y gemas muy raras y de gran precio, con tapa bien ajustada. Al laustic pone allí dentro; luego el relicario sella, que doquier lleva consigo. Esta andanza fue contada, que no pudo estar oculta; bretones de ello hacen lay que nombre de Laustic llaman.

                   PHOTOSHOOT: LOVE + FEAR ALBUM

Marina teamed up with world-renowned photographer Zoey Grossman for the visuals of her fourth studio album titled "Love + Fear" back in October 2018. Serving a clean aesthetic, this album is all about Marina's mentality and feelings. The good and the bad sides. The light and the dark. And this shoot represents it well.

Styling by Mercedes Natalia. Hair by Marissa Marino, glam by Katelin Gan.

For her hauntingly beautiful album cover, Marina wears nothing but a pair of the  statement-making Gemma crystal cascade earrings by accessoriy designer Rebecca Minkoff.

For the second look of the photoshoot's black & white section, Marina sported the Amelie polka-dot ruffle trim bardot top by California-based swimwear label Vitamin A! She wore it with a pair of skinny jeans with raw hem by Levi’s.

Many of these photos made it into various magazines. This one made it into Vogue Greece! She’s looking fine in a Ganni ivory knitted sweater featuring 3/4 sleeves and a ribbed mock neck. Her Dusk belted bikini bottoms are by Australian label Peony, which you’ll see more of later.

She decorated her sweater with a Chanel pearl-embellished double C logo brooch!

In this shot Marina is serving us face while wearing yet another piece from Peony. This is their frill-trimmed crop top made from recycled and sustainable Italian fabric. It features thick shoulder straps and a shirred back.

Her “You Are Beautiful” pink felt beret is fruit of the collaboration between UK designer Mary Benson and television and radio presenter Gemma Cairney.

The amount of swimwear we’ll see in this shoot is amazing. For these visuals, which were used for the “Superstar” single cover, M sits in the pool rocking a black swimsuit with asymmetrically draped shoulder from “loose luxury” label Baja East’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection.

We’re getting into some color now. Here, the Welsh beauty poses in a white cropped tie-waist shirt which she wore on top of a Solid & Striped neon-green one-piece swimsuit with open back.

My favorite look from the entire shoot has to be this one! The lavender ribbed one-piece scoop neck swimsuit, our girl looks so good in, is by Topshop! But it’s the accessories that made it for me.

Firstly, Marina rocked a DiorClub1 visor from Dior’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection. The white & black structure is embellished by the "J'Adior" signature, while the transparent yellow visor recalls the colorful universe of the collection. The "Christian Dior" woven elastic is adjustable to offer maximum comfort.

Her shoulder-gracing teardrop earrings in gold & silver are by emerging jewelry brand TUZA.

The last accessory is this vintage Celine gold chain-link belt with Triomphe logo charm.

In this close-up shot, M wears a pair of vintage-inspired twisted gold hoops from Free People.

For the penultimate look (an outtake, actually!) Marina can be seen repping this Tory Burch Gemini black one-piece swimsuit with gold link shoulder detail.

It took him a lot of trial and error. Even after he finally made his way back to Japan and the sorta familiar regions, it turned out that no one really knew the name of the girl that saved the world - most seemed to have forgotten about the whole ordeal entirely, in fact. Knowing how well Ryuko dealt with unwanted attention (bad), that was probably by choice. But left him with frustratingly little threads to follow.

That is, until someone sort of seemed to recognize her description and, after eyeing him suspiciously from head to toe (had he looked that bad?!), advised him to come to this place called Izu.

Which was a whole province and then a city of the same name inside that province, apparently. And sporadically full of tourists, at that. People. Lots of people. Made him a bit anxious - he still needed to remind himself he couldn't be accidentally stepped on anymore. But more importantly, he was still looking for one person. What's the expression? A needle in a haystack.

So he did what he's been doing this whole time - he approached the nearest vendor, he did not forget to bow with a greeting, 'cause that's what was polite for human-bodied people to do, and he just...asked.

"Excuse me, very sorry to bother you, you didn't happen to see a young woman around these parts, about this height, blue eyes, bright red streak in her hair, like mine?" He was still talking louder than strictly necessary, just in case anyone ever had trouble hearing him again.

An ear piercing roar shook the trees of the forest. Sounds of thunderous footsteps and the crunching of falling tree trunks rang through the air.
