Why Most Relationships End at Stage 3 (And What Comes After)
Nobody tells you there are five stages of love. Or maybe they do, but we're too caught up in stage one to listen.
Stage 1: Falling in Love
God, isn't this part beautiful? Everything is perfect and new and exciting. The butterflies, the constant texting, the way they can do no wrong. Their jokes are always funny. Their little quirks are adorable. The way they breathe is somehow fascinating.
You stay up until 4AM talking about nothing and everything. Every song on the radio suddenly makes sense. You plan your entire day around the chance of seeing them. Even sitting in silence feels magical.
I remember thinking "this is it." Like I had somehow cracked the code to perfect love. Spoiler alert: I hadn't.
Stage 2: Getting Serious
This is when reality starts to blend with the magic. You're still in love, but now you're also building something. Meeting families. Planning futures. Moving in together. Making joint Netflix accounts (because that's basically marriage in 2024).
You start saying "we" instead of "I." You have inside jokes. You know their coffee order by heart. You can read their moods. You're a team. Or at least, you think you are.
The butterflies might fade a bit, but they're replaced by something deeper. Something real. You're not just in love anymore - you're choosing each other, every day.
Stage 3: What Happened?
And then... something shifts.
Suddenly their quirks aren't cute anymore. The way they chew is annoying. Their jokes aren't funny. The silence isn't comfortable - it's heavy. You start wondering if this is all there is.
This is where most relationships end. Right here. In this messy, uncomfortable space where the fairytale crashes into reality.
Their pedestal starts crumbling. You realize they're human. They make mistakes. They have flaws. They disappoint you. And worst of all? You disappoint them too.
Most people panic here. They think the relationship is broken. They think love is dead. They run.
I did. Multiple times.
But here's the thing about Stage 3 - it's not the end. It's the middle. It's the growing pains. It's the part where real love has a chance to begin.
Stage 4: Climbing Down from the Pedestal
If you're brave enough to stay, if you're willing to do the work, you reach Stage 4. This is where you both climb down from your pedestals and meet in the middle.
You see each other clearly for the first time. Not as perfect beings. Not as disappointments. Just as humans, trying their best.
You learn that love isn't about butterflies or grand gestures. It's about choosing each other, especially when it's hard. It's about seeing someone's flaws and loving them anyway.
Stage 5: Working Together as a Team
This is where real love lives. This is what all those romantic comedies don't show you.
It's not perfect. It's not always exciting. But it's real.
It's working through problems instead of running from them. It's knowing when to fight and when to let go. It's building something together, brick by brick, day by day.
It's understanding that love isn't something that happens to you - it's something you build together.
But here's why most people never make it past Stage 3:
1. We think the end of the honeymoon phase means the end of love
2. We're addicted to the high of Stage 1
3. We don't know how to love real, flawed humans
4. We're scared of doing the work
5. Nobody told us what comes after the fairytale
The truth is, Stages 4 and 5 aren't as glamorous as the first three. They don't make good movies. They don't inspire pop songs.
But they're where real love lives. In the mundane moments. In the hard conversations. In the choice to stay even when it's not perfect.
To anyone stuck in Stage 3: it's okay. It's normal. It's not the end unless you choose it to be.
The most beautiful love stories aren't about perfect people having a perfect romance.
They're about real people choosing each other. Again and again. Through the hard parts. Through the boring parts. Through all of it.

Dreamling Bingo WIP - Beta/Omega Relationship
The lovely mods at @dreamlingbingo have let us submit previews for our squares, so I will be posting as many as I can before the day is up lol
This is from an unnamed omegaverse fae fic - A1: Beta/Omega Relationship
CW: implied later mpeg, ref to canonical child-death, ref to canonical death in childbirth
・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚.
“I can grant you riches. Save you from the depths of famish. Restore you to your former glory.” The Fae purrs, curling pale arms around Hob’s shoulders, possessive, nails biting into his skin, toying with the frayed edge of the rags he’s been wearing for months. “But it will come at a price.”
“I don’t…” Hob winces, arms tightening around his middle as he attempts to starve off another sharp pang of hunger. “I’m sorry, but I don’t have anything to give.”
The Fae hums, petal-soft lips brushing over the shell of Hob’s ear. “Oh, you sweet thing, there is always more left to give, and you have Endless.”
Hob grimaces. His life is endless until the day he decides otherwise. He’s not sure how he feels that this creature discovered that with such ease. He can’t find the will to care much right now.
“What service would you ask of me, then?”
“Service?” The fae repeats, their arm slipping off him like liquid silk as they trail around to face him. “Is that what you would offer me? An act?”
“Is that what you want?”
“I suppose I could ask you to silence church bells. Swear fealty to the Archfey. Learn the name of a devil. Lay with me.” The fey winks as Hob’s shoulders tense. “But that would be such a waste when I can smell the life on you. All those memories. Would you surrender one of those to me? Your first kiss. First mate. First love,” The fey pauses, tilts their head and smirks some dangerous thing. “A flame that’s yet to burn out, I see. And such an ill-advised candle to worship at that.”
“Fuck off. What use could you possibly have with my memories?”
“That is my business. I owe you no explanation. But where there is love there is also loss. Let’s see here…firstborn fell casualty to a tavern brawl. The second lost in birth along with the mother. Poor Robert Gadlen. All that life and yet here you are drowning in tragedy. I suppose you must be numb to it all by now?”
“Just get on with it and name your price. If it’s a memory you want well - well my answer is no.”
The fey smiles some beautiful, fanged thing. “Not a memory. No, I would claim to something far more precious than that. Your third born. That is my demand.”
And Hob, who has no intention of ever siring children again, snorts. “Deal.”
.
Of course, when Hob gets Dream pregnant three hundred years later, that becomes a bit of a problem. In his defence, he didn’t realise Dream could get pregnant.

Understanding US H-1B Visa Denial for Indians: Expert Advice and Solutions
The US H-1B Visa Denial For Indians program is essential for bringing skilled professionals—particularly those from India—to work in the United States. Designed to help U.S. companies fill specialized roles, the H-1B visa allows companies to hire international experts in high-demand fields like technology, engineering, healthcare, and finance.
Indian professionals make up nearly 70% of all US H-1B Visa Denial For Indians, bringing in-demand skills to the U.S. tech, engineering, and management sectors. For these individuals, the H-1B visa is more than just a job opportunity—it’s a gateway to career advancement and, potentially, long-term residency. Their contributions are particularly critical in technology fields, such as software development, artificial intelligence, and data science, driving U.S. innovation and economic growth.
The U.S. tech industry, worth an estimated $1.8 trillion, relies on skilled professionals, including many from India, to maintain its global edge. Indian H-1B workers contribute heavily to this success and their expertise benefits industries.
In recent years, US H-1B Visa Denial For Indians rates have surged, with Indian applicants facing some of the highest refusal rates. At one point, denial rates hit 30%, driven by policy changes, stricter definitions of “specialty occupation,” and a closer examination of the employer-employee relationship. These challenges have added uncertainty for Indian applicants and the U.S. companies that rely on their skills, making the H-1B process increasingly complex and competitive.
Common Reasons for US H-1B Visa Denial For Indians
When applying for an H-1B visa, understanding why applications get denied can make all the difference. Here are some of the most common reasons for H-1B visa denials:
1. Specialty Occupation Requirement
●       What is a “Specialty Occupation”?According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), a “specialty occupation” requires specialized knowledge and at least a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Fields like IT, engineering, and healthcare typically qualify, as they demand advanced knowledge and training.
●       Why Some Roles Fall ShortNot all roles meet this requirement. For example, positions that are too generalized or don’t require a specific degree may be denied. USCIS may question the “specialty” aspect if the job description lacks specific technical or academic demands.
2. Employer-Employee Relationship Issues
●       USCIS Standards for a Valid RelationshipThe USCIS requires clear proof of an employer-employee relationship, meaning the employer must control the employee’s work assignments, duties, and schedules. This becomes especially crucial when the applicant works at a third-party client site.
●       Common ComplicationsRemote work arrangements, third-party contracts, or indirect supervision roles can raise concerns. The application may be denied if the employer cannot demonstrate a clear line of authority.
3. Educational Qualifications and Job Fit
●       Impact of Education on Approval ChancesUSCIS assesses whether the applicant’s educational background aligns with the job role. For example, a data science job usually requires a computer science or statistics degree.
●       Mismatch Between Education and JobIf an applicant’s education or experience doesn’t match the job description, USCIS may deny the application. This can happen when an applicant’s degree is unrelated to the job or if their qualifications don’t align with the specific demands of the position.
4. Documentation and Evidence Gaps
●       Importance of Strong DocumentationClear documentation is essential in proving the validity of the job offer, role requirements, and the applicant’s qualifications. Incomplete or vague documentation is a frequent reason for denial.

What infuriates me more is that this could have been good writing. Have all this trashfire InuKik relationshipthings and that be called out in-story. Have Inuyasha (an maybe even Kikyo in seperate version) realize how bad their relationship was, as it was built upon loneliness and desperation and actually work to let go. But no, they just had to have it both ways. Have them be this mess and still be treated like they were good and happy before Naraku came along. Inuyasha said in one chapter that he and Kikyo didn't trust each other and enough and that's how far that introspection went. It's so shallow to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jesus take the entire car at this point.
When watching the show as a young girl, I hated seeing InuYasha easily give into his guilt because Kikyo was dead and he wasn’t. That episode where he thinks he needs to say goodbye to Kagome even though he clearly does not want to near killed me.
The worst part of that episode, or any episode regarding InuKik and their supposed bond, was having to watch as he willingly but hesitantly makes himself miserable even as he attempts to make things right by attempting to protect Kikyo.
The fact that Kikyo doesn’t give him any sort of comfort when she probably could is the most fucked up thing about it because I mean how hard is it to tell your once “lover” that you understand what happened? that you’re letting him off the hook?
Reason # 1 why Kikyo was never in love or simply loved InuYasha:
IF she ever loved him she would have let him go because when you love someone you want their happiness, not drag them into an unhealthy loop.
She’s dead for fucks sakes like how is it okay for her to expect him to give up his life for her? his chance to be happy? It’s selfish, manipulative and just gross.
I cannot stress enough just how unfair and uncalled for that was. It will always be something about this series that upsets me.
Here you have this young boy whose suffered basically all of his life and he finally finds a speck of happiness, finally makes friends who wholeheartedly accept him for who he is and what he is, and he can’t even enjoy that? Kikyo even asked Kaede about it.
She can see the change in InuYasha so you can’t say she doesn’t yet she tries her best to make it hard for him because again she is selfish and just doesn’t give a fuck but I digress.
This pleases me so much because while the guilt is still there, the difference is (at least for now) that he isn’t letting his guilt get the best of him. He wants to be with Kagome.
MangaInuYasha seems way more open about his Kagome feels than AnimeInuYasha ever was and I love it.

Sometimes Love Needs a Reset Button
It's funny how we always think the answer is finding someone new. Like somehow, a different person will solve all the problems that made us fall out of love with the last one.
But here's what nobody tells you: sometimes the bravest thing isn't walking away. Sometimes it's staying and saying "let's start over."
Not with someone new. Not with a blank slate. But with the person right in front of you. The one whose coffee order you know by heart. The one whose snoring you've learned to sleep through. The one who's seen you at your worst and stayed anyway.
The thing about long-term love is that it gets buried sometimes. Under bills and work stress and dirty dishes and mundane arguments about whose turn it is to do laundry. The spark doesn't die - it just gets covered up by everyday life.
We forget to look at them. Really look at them. Remember when you couldn't take your eyes off them? When every little thing they did was fascinating? When did we stop noticing?
We get so caught up in what's missing that we forget to see what's still there:
The way they still reach for your hand in their sleep
The coffee they make you every morning without asking
The fact that they remember your mom's birthday
How they know exactly what to order you from every takeout place
The way they can still make you laugh even when you're mad
Maybe love isn't about finding someone new. Maybe it's about choosing to see the person you're with through new eyes. About remembering why you chose them in the first place.
Sometimes you have to press reset. Start dating again. Not other people - each other. Find new things to talk about. Create new inside jokes. Make new memories. Rediscover the parts of them you forgot to notice.
It's not about going backward. It's not about trying to recreate what you had in the beginning. It's about building something new with the foundation you already have. With the person who already knows your story.
Because here's the truth: that initial spark? The butterflies? The can't-eat-can't-sleep feeling? It's beautiful. But it's not sustainable. Real love is what comes after. It's choosing someone over and over again, especially when it's hard.
But sometimes you need to remind yourself why you made that choice in the first place.
Look at them when they're not paying attention.
Ask them questions like you're just getting to know them.
Listen to their stories like you haven't heard them before.
Touch them like it's the first time.
Kiss them like it might be the last time.
Love isn't always about finding something new. Sometimes it's about finding new ways to love what you already have. Sometimes it's about remembering why you fell in love. Sometimes it's about pressing reset and starting over. Right where you are. With exactly who you're with.
Because maybe the greatest love stories aren't about finding the right person. Maybe they're about being the right person. Over and over again. For the one you already chose.
So before you decide the spark is gone, before you convince yourself you need someone new, before you give up on what you have, try starting over. Right here. Right now. With them.
Because sometimes the love of your life isn't someone new waiting to be found. Sometimes they're right there, waiting to be loved like you're just beginning.

Development Update - Lumayn
If you’re here reading this, thank you for taking your time for this little blog of mine. This week on the agenda I’m going to be talking about how the development of my current project has been going, what I’m working on now, and where development will go next.
Before we begin, I’d like to announce that the project now has a name: Lumayn! This word was originally something that I thought I had come up with when I used it for the name of a continent in a DnD campaign that I have been running. I thought to myself, “Why not use it for the game name?”. So, I went about googling to see whether the name was in use and it wasn’t! But, what I also learnt was that it is already a word in use in the Somali language and translates to “lost”. Serendipity smiled on me when I chose this word; it’s the perfect word for my DnD campaign AND for this game!
Now, lets get into the breakdown.
The Problem Space
Like all things, Lumayn began as a concept. I thought to myself about some of my favourite games that I played growing up: Pokemon, Digimon, Monster Hunter, and what drew me to those game types, and what inevitably pushed me away from them. The draw of those games was simple: The games featured really cool monsters and you get to interact with them; I loved finding monsters whose designs I found fascinating. No game is perfect though. For Pokemon specifically, it was things such as: being able to draw a parallel between the core mechanic and animal captivity, too many designs which results in some awful and lazy designs, and a lack of focus on the interacts with the monsters specifically that led find it difficult to play the games past early iterations. To fix the issues I have with the monster genre, I wanted to come up with an idea that focused more on the monsters themselves, their personalities, your relationship with them, and interacting with them.
Lumayn Concept
Lumayn is a 3D monster adventure game where the player’s interactions with their partner matters. You partner has their own personality, and how you treat them will affect how they treat you back. The player will work with their partner to learn abilities, evolve, fight powerful enemies, and restore their town.
Your relationship
The way you treat your partner will change how they react to your assistance. In combat, you will be able to suggest actions and provide help, however, if your partner does not respect you because of how you have treated them, they may ignore you entirely and refuse assistance.
Whiteboxing
I began development of the prototype by focusing on developing a sufficiently sophisticated AI for demonstration purposes. Using basic capsules in Unity, I used the Unity Navmesh system to develop a follow system
youtube
I then whiteboxed a basic start area, and what would be a combat arena. When the player collides with an enemy, they and their partner would be transported to participate in an intense fight with one or more enemies
youtube
Working on the AI
The AI that runs the monsters in Lumayn will be an extremely important part of the experience. Each monster will have a unique personality based on many different factors that change how they behave.
Monsters will have different likes and dislikes. For example, some monsters will like hot areas filled with lava and stone, while other will like forests filled with trees. In each of these areas, monsters will respond to stimuli like flowers, berries, and pretty stones depending on what they like.
Another facet of their personality will be how they choose to fight while in combat. For example, some monsters will be aggressive, taking the first move wherever they can, while some monsters will be passive and wait to react.
youtube
A basic version of the combat AI has been implemented, as well as the personality generator.
Making things prettier
Your partner can now walk around with you and fight on their own in combat, so it was time to make the prototype look a little prettier in order to better demonstrate the style of the game.
youtube
I took some time to experiment with various free assets to update the game visually. While I am happy for the time being with the way it looks, there will be a lot of work later to improve the visuals.
Modelling
Currently I am working on modelling and animating one of the monster ideas. Animations will make an immeasurable difference in the believability of the monsters and their personalities.
youtube
This is the current iteration of a creature species known as “Rex”. They are an adolescent level monster with an affinity for starting fires.
Next up
Future development will involve giving the demo more personality. Better artwork, models, level design, and interactions. There’s a lot of work to do to give the players a visual interesting game where they can fall in love with their monster partner!
Here’s a peak at a design for the starting area!
Tumblr media
Last Up
As always, here’s a cool frog. An internet classic, the Black Rain Frog!

What resources are available for information on agricultural fairs?
Tumblr media
Agricultural fairs are neighbourhood gatherings that honour the long history of farming and the rural way of life. These fairs give farmers, ranchers, and rural communities a chance to showcase their accomplishments and educate the general public. They typically take place once a year and offer a wide variety of activities and events that showcase the best aspects of rural culture and life.
You can anticipate seeing displays of farm products like fruits, vegetables, grains, and livestock at an agricultural fair. These events frequently include competitions like crop exhibits and livestock judging. Farmers can participate in these competitions to display the quality of their livestock and crops and to be honored for their commitment to the land.
Why do agricultural fairs matter so much?
The best part of agricultural fairs is seeing the work that our neighbors produce, whether it be crafts or poultry. It gives us a chance to admire one another's exhibits and recognise the talents of our neighbors. Unfortunately, there has been a decline in exhibitors across the board over the years. For some reason, community members are no longer featured in exhibits. Coming to the fair to see these fantastic exhibits is what members of our neighborhood do. If we don't have excellent exhibits, the fair will eventually become obsolete. Our incredible neighbors must emerge from hiding to demonstrate their knowledge of agriculture.
Farmers in India benefit greatly from agricultural fairs because they offer them many advantages and opportunities. The following are some of the most significant effects that agricultural fairs have on Indian farmers:
1) Networking and Information Exchange: Farmers can connect with one another and exchange experiences, information, and ideas at agricultural fairs. Farmers can pick up tips from other farmers, talk about the newest farming methods and technologies, and gain knowledge of new markets and business opportunities.
2) Access to New Products and Technologies: Farmers looking to enhance their operations and boost yields can benefit from the demonstrations and exhibitions of new products and technologies that are frequently featured at agricultural fairs. Farmers have the chance to learn about the most recent developments in agriculture and to see the products and technologies in action at these exhibitions.
3) Market Possibilities: Agricultural fairs give suppliers, buyers, and traders easy access. Farmers can promote their goods, establish connections with potential customers, and create new market opportunities.
4) Recognition and Prestige: Farmers can exhibit the calibre of their livestock and crops through competitions at agricultural fairs, which frequently include livestock judging and crop exhibits. Winning these contests can boost the farmer's reputation and boost the value of their farm, bringing in more customers.
5) Education and Training: Farmers can attend workshops, seminars, and training sessions at agricultural fairs on a variety of subjects, from the newest farming methods to business administration and marketing. These educational opportunities can aid farmers in developing their abilities and knowledge as well as keeping abreast of the most recent advancements in the agricultural industry.
Employment and Economic Growth: A Relationship
The amount of employment in a nation is significantly influenced by its level of development. Therefore, employment opportunities increase as a nation develops and its production rises. Production has increased in all economic sectors in India over the last 30 years or so. However, unemployment has gone up in absolute terms over the course of the planning period. This occurred as a result of the trend rate of growth being significantly lower than the targeted rate during the first three decades of economic planning. As a result, not enough jobs were generated. Additionally, economic expansion cannot end unemployment on its own.
Fairs and festivals' value to rural development and agriculture
Animators of static attractions, catalysts for other developments, and attractions themselves, festivals, and special events are known to play significant roles in destination development. Festivals and special events also extend the destination's tourist season, offer cultural and educational opportunities, foster a sense of community pride, aid in the conservation of sensitive natural, social, and cultural environments, and support sustainable development in addition to the economic benefits that they bring. One of the tourism sectors with the fastest growth is event and festival tourism.
It is gaining popularity as a means of reviving local economies in rural areas. In regions that were previously dependent on traditional industries like farming or narrowly focused tourism industries, the need for industry diversification has been prompted by developing technologies and changing weather patterns (i.e., an increase in droughts and floods/storms). Many of these places have used events and festivals to draw tourists who would otherwise avoid regions with a seasonal tourist appeal.
The International Festival and Event Association (IFEA) conducted a survey, which estimated that the special events industry includes between 4 and 5 million regularly occurring events and has a sizable economic impact on the world.
Regarding the Kisaan Helpline
A dedicated platform (for the agricultural supply chain) called Kisaan Helpline offers farmers one-stop information. Other agricultural information available to farmers includes soil testing, training, crop protection, crop nutrition, seeds, agricultural news, articles, advice from agricultural experts, and solutions. On the Agro Expert Forum of the Helpline, farmers can offer suggestions, solutions, articles, their opinions, and agricultural information pertaining to crop protection. The goal of the Kisan Helpline is to encourage agricultural consultants and experts to share their knowledge with others while also keeping their opinions to themselves. This will aid in guiding farmers by promoting their concepts, articles, and agricultural knowledge.
What part does the Kisaan Helpline play in agricultural events?
Although Kisaan Helpline is not directly involved in planning or running agricultural events, it can support farmers who are taking part in them.
For instance, farmers can access information on the most recent agricultural technologies and practices through the Kisan Helpline, which can be helpful for getting ready for and taking part in agricultural events. Additionally, they can use the helpline to speak with experts and receive guidance on a variety of agricultural topics, including crop choice, soil management, and livestock care.
Additionally, the Kisan Helpline can inform farmers about government agricultural programmes and policies, which can help them navigate the various rules and requirements related to agricultural events.
Conclusion
Farmers in India can get information, support, and direction from the Kisan Helpline on a variety of topics related to agriculture. The Kisan Helpline can be a helpful resource for farmers who are looking for information on the most recent agricultural technologies and practices or who need guidance on government programmes and policies pertaining to agriculture. The Kisan Helpline gives farmers a direct line of communication with the government, enabling them to succeed and thrive in their careers. This programme demonstrates the Indian government's dedication to advancing agriculture and ensuring the welfare of its farmers.
By giving out prizes for their produce at the conclusion of the event, farmers are encouraged. It serves as a common forum for farmers, scientists, and organisational entities to share knowledge and experiences regarding contemporary agricultural technologies. Farmers' fairs offer an affordable way to spread knowledge through demonstrations, farmer feedback, and the most convincing interactions between farmers and scientists. Additionally, it provides a venue for the sale of agricultural goods and inputs, as well as for the display of cutting-edge agricultural and related technology.

6 Things to Try While Selling Final Expense Insurance
Tumblr media
Final expense is something that everyone needs. Nevertheless, it can be tricky to sell these products since it involves some hard-to-face facts.
The best part about final expense insurance is that it has low premiums and low face amounts, with simplified underwriting. Also, there is an extensive target market to be covered. However, the final expense is still all about death, which makes it difficult to have a conversation about.
So, where do you get final expense live transfer leads from and how do you close them?
Here is what you need to do:
Target External Leads
The ideal target group for final expense is low-to-middle-class seniors aged 50 and above. However, there is no rule that you need to restrict yourself only to this group. You can find many sales opportunities outside this target market too.
Death is something that can come any time. And more often than not, the loved ones of the deceased may not be prepared to handle such situations. Grief is one thing; but costs of funeral and burial services might seem challenging to bear, especially if they don’t have the cash readily available. Your presentation to your clients should be all about eliminating this funeral planning challenge.
Have a spreadsheet ready with the costs of funeral services. List out the plans that might seem affordable to your clients. You can also sell other plans like life insurance plans and term insurance plans if it works out better for them.
Work on Building the Rapport
If you have been selling other insurance products, you may already have established a good rapport with your clients. Make sure you ask them for referrals after every successful sale. This makes it easier to start conversations with new prospects.
Talking about death with a total stranger might not be that easy. So, start by sharing a personal story that they can relate to. It could be about the death of a friend or family member and how difficult it was for their family members to deal with it. Talk about the difficulties they faced while making financial and emotional decisions, within a short span of time. Were they able to fulfill the final wishes of their loved ones?
Have a worksheet ready with all aspects of funeral planning. Walk your client through the details in an easy-to-understand manner. Be the person they can trust when it comes to any aspect of funeral planning.
Focus on Establishing Relationship
The conversations you have with your customers need not be one-time. You should focus on retaining them as your clients for a long time to come. Create a client profile worksheet and fill in the details of your customers to understand their insurance needs.
Make sure you collect all information about their health conditions as well as the medications they might be taking. Assess their financial situation and find out how much premium they may be able to afford. You have no idea how many sales opportunities you might uncover through these facts.
Understand the Underwriting of Final Expense
Most final expense plans come with simplified underwriting. This means there won’t be any physical or medical exams required. The policies can be issued quickly, maybe even instantly, through an e-application process or telephone underwriting.
Since the underwriting procedure is so simplified, it should be easy to find out if your client qualifies for the plan. All that you need to do is review your client’s replies to the medical questions that you will find on the application. Your client may not qualify for a final expense plan in case of any of the following uninsurable conditions:
A stroke or heart attack within the last twelve months
Cancer diagnosis or a relapse within the previous two years
HIV or AIDS
ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease
Oxygen usage
Congestive Heart Failure
Resident of a nursing home
Inability to perform ADLs (activities of daily living) without help
In any such condition, you should have an alternative option readily available. A few carriers even offer chronic illness riders on their policies to help clients with significant medical issues. You should have complete knowledge about these riders and their benefits.
Underwriting might vary from one carrier to the other. Good knowledge about the underwriting niches of various carriers might help in determining the best carrier based on the medical condition of your client. However, a standard final expense plan should be good enough for healthier clients taking only the basic maintenance medications.
Work on Improving Your Final Expense Sales Pitch
Now that you have all the information you need about your client and determined the right carrier, it is time to offer the various payment options that fit your client’s budget. Make sure you offer at least three final expense options with different monthly payment plans and coverage.
For instance, you may offer final expense plans with different death benefit amounts such as $7,000, $10,000, and $12,000. This will make it easy for the clients to decide on the amount they would be paying as premium. It will also help them understand how a small difference in premium can help them get so much more coverage.
Customize Your Final Expense Presentation
Your final expense presentation need not be only about selling your final expense plan. You should be focusing more on helping your clients create a funeral plan.
You may include details about various local funeral homes, floral services, travel arrangement options, and so on. In fact, you can offer these details free of cost, to all your prospects, even before selling your product. There are also many marketing tools that you can use in your final expense presentation.
The Bottom Line
Selling final expense insurance may not be as easy as selling life insurance or term insurance. However, you can get many new leads if you think outside the box. Make sure you have the best interests of your clients in your mind. Get all the facts you can and look for the gaps in coverage. You might find many sales opportunities that can help you establish long-standing relationships that can be mutually beneficial.
