Appreciation for Bad Bunny From an Emo/Post-Hardcore Listener's Perspective

I just love what this man is doing with reggaeton music. I've always had a soft spot for hip hop, rnb, phonk, and reggaeton, but wow this guy eats with every album he releases. I may only have minimal Spanish skills, and cannot tell you what exactly he's saying in his songs, but I can tell you that they are absolute bops. From what I've seen, there has been historical queerphobia and hyper-masculine chauvinism in the reggaeton scene, but Bad Bunny has completely changed the game by being extremely accepting, pro-LGBTQ+, and even bending gender norms through how he dresses and presents himself. I mean, he's even kissed a male backup dancer on stage during a performance, which is unequivocally based. His fluidity in his sexuality and gender expression is inspiring, not only does he give a voice to queer POC, he gives off the message that reggaeton is for everyone to enjoy. Even a pasty white bi t-masc like me can throw it back to his music.

My coworker showed me the cluster fuck of a gem that is Nanowar of Steel's "Norwegian Reggaeton" and I might have fallen off the hinges completely ever since.

Despite the MV not being my cup of tea, I'm laugh-crying even harder because song wise that's exactly how I picture a party of the Strawhat-Heart-Kid alliance, in all it's suggestive and chaotic glory- - - At this point I don't know if I should be concerned about my brain or need someone to edit this into an animation.

This grease fire of a song awoke so many thoughts about some of my favorite ships, as well... (one of the dancers has a hat like Penguin, the makeup and wigs and sunglasses don't make it better in the slightest.)

This will haunt me to my grave and I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse. Probably both.

I love how the dullness of techno and its rhythmic monotony makes even the most fleeting moments of interesting sonics utterly mind blowing like hearing a breakbeat 4 hours into 4-2-tha-floor sameness is always the most extreme euphoria, when you're in a state where you've resigned yourself to both physically and mentally going thru the motions (techno dancing and counting beats in your head) even the tiniest bit of rhythmic complexity feels like communion with god,being able to dance and think freely and intuitively to any extent at all after being in a bum-bum-bum-bum prison for hours is so exhilarating, even if it's just a moment of badum-bum-bum or more rarely an appearance of the revolutionary badum-bap-bap
