12. fashion sense

hawaiian shirts, wacky patterned button downs over graphic tees with shit he likes on them or just stuff that says the randomest stuff on it!! i think he wears denim/leather jackets or like bright colored windbreakers !! if someone gives him a friendship bracelet, he will wear it till it falls off/ same with those bracelets they give you at amusement parks or like any event, just Leaves them on. converse/ sneakers in general. he has to buy a new pair like every month cause he Ruins them somehow. FUNNY SOCKS WIHT PATTERNS!! if not they just dont match :)

26. insecurity

as like outspoken and no filter that he is, he worries that everyone hates him. or that one day they are gonna say shut up for real richie your so annoying. i think somedays he takes it to heart when they say beep beep richie and goes quiet for like the rest of the day. i think he just has such deep rooted self loathing whenever he accepts a compliment its over the top and acted like "OF COURSE I AM" even though he doesnt believe it. he worries a lot about being forgotten and getting left behind, i.e. missing and no one would care. thats why he tries to make himself the loudest inthe room look at me dont forget me.

Various Aromantic and Asexual interpretations for Shakespearean characters:

There was significantly less evidence for these identities, seeing as Shakespeare loved his romance and raunchy writing... Still, I was feeling really good about these examples!

Hamlet as (a sex-repulsed) asexual:

He has several speeches condemning sex, and the language shows his disgust goes deeper than at his mother’s betrayal. 

Calling Claudius “Bloody, bawdy villain! Remorseless, treacherous, lecherous kindless villain!” instead of focusing on the fact that he murdered his dad.

He tells his mother the act of sex “blurs the grace and blush of modesty,” and that Heaven itself “is thought-sick at the act.”

“The rank sweat of an enseamed bed, stew’d in corruption, honeying and making love over the nasty sty!”

He tells Gertrude to turn down any future advancements, including Claudius’ “reechy kisses, or paddling in your neck with his damn’d fingers”

It isn't just his mother, either. He warns Polonius to keep an eye on his daughter, lest she “concieve” through sex.  He tells Ophelia “the power of beauty will sooner transform honesty from what it is to a bawd than the force of honesty can transform beauty into his likeness.”

The repetition of “get thee to a nunnery. Why wouldst thou be a breeder of sinners?”

The only time he talks positively about sex occurs at the height of his madness act, on the night he commits the first murder. By Ophelia’s uncomfortable reaction to his sexual flirting, it’s clear that Hamlet is not speaking like his usual self. 

The cast reflects a sex-focused society as they immediately believe the protagonist’s troubles stem from lack of sex rather than his grief. After Claudius and Polonius overhear the prince speaking explicitly of his disgust at Gertrude’s remarriage, they assume “the origin and commencement of his grief spring from neglected love.”

He tells his friends, who also believe this, “Man delights not me; no, nor Woman neither; though by your smiling you seem to say so.” 

Lady Macbeth as aromantic:

She cares deeply for her husband, helping him gain power and riches. She wants the best for him, but never acts with the same romanticism towards him as other Shakespearean wives. 

She shows dedication to her partnership with him and their future, but

Spealing of kids, there's her notorious lines about killing her hypothetical child. Those lines are really expressing that she would honor a promise to her husband no matter what it meant -- on the surface, readers/characters see the line as a cruel thing to say, but she’s proving her commitment to Macbeth without using typical declarations of love.

Going off of that, one can look at this in a meta way for more evidence. Those lines and behaviors from Lady Macbeth have been skewed and judged harshly by the public. She is often depicted as a horrible wife and mother, and therefore a villain. In the same way, the public commonly accuses queer people (especially aromantics) of being harmful to family structures and monstrous, heartless people without taking the time to understand their words.

Katherina in Taming of the Shrew as either label:

She is also an unconventional partner that society is unhappy with

Her independence from men may be viewed as independence from romantic/physical relationships in general. 

She undergoes cruel conversion and a society that is wholly against her.

When looking at themes, any Shakespearean characters who experience this “otherness” may be taken as an asexual/aromantic metaphor. They face isolation from those around them. They don’t fit into traditional partnership roles, and express loneliness or frustration with others not understanding their attitudes and behaviors.
