What happened to Redmi K series in India & POCO F Series??
This blog was originally available on Revue (by Twitter) & was written back in June, 2022 before the launch of Redmi K50i,
As the Revue is getting discontinued, I am making this interesting thread available on Tumblr,
I have tried some alternative platforms to continue my blogs & finally decided to do that on Tumblr. This will be the place, where I will share the details which I can't share on any Community
My Twitter handle will be my primary platform to communicate with everyone & everything that I would do in other platforms will be shared to there.
Many of you must be wondering what Redmi is doing like literally after Redmi K20 Series launch in 2019, they are going to bring back Redmi K series as Redmi K50i in 2022 in India (itās the renamed version of Redmi Note 11T Pro for India) & why POCO is rebranding original Redmi K phones under POCO F series, right?
Give me a chance, I am explaining what has actually happened in past few years.Ā If you found this article useful, informative & interesting then please share to your friends & family members who might be interested in this.
Why this has happened?
Xiaomi's thinking of flagship market in India: -
Redmi in India always had the plans to bring the successor of Redmi K20 Pro in India, as POCO had for POCO F1ās successor as in form of POCO F2 originally in 2019 (yes, you read it right) In Q1, 2020, we had the Covid outbreak throughout the country. Redmi K30 4G was introduced to India asĀ POCO X2 for POCOās comeback.
POCO F2 was originally planned
Long before, people had asked the Xiaomi team to bring flagships to Indian market. This had happened till Mi 5. ButĀ Xiaomi India wanted to focus on majority share of Indian Smartphone market which is in budget segment (>ā¹5k - ā¹15k), so they established the identity of āM-Iā as budget friendly brand & missed the great opportunity for flagship competition with OnePlus in India.Ā
Observing peopleās request for flagships priced at aggressive pricing Mi MIX 2 was introduced. But this didnāt set that great impact on the Indian industry. And for this Xiaomi India didnāt bring that much flagships till 2018, later in 2020 with the introduction of Mi 10 in Indian market, this thing got changed.
In 2018, to change the scenario POCO brand was introduced. F1 did that what we all know. Looking at the success of POCO F1, Xiaomi decided to do the same on with Redmi. So, they introduced Redmi as their 2nd sub brand after POCO during the launch event of Redmi Note 7 series in Q1 2019. (Source)
POCO was the reason for the birth of Redmi K
Redmi K series was introduced to walk on the same path of POCO F1.Ā Few guys still donāt know that how āK20ā word came up. This actually made up from āFlagshipĀ KillerĀ 2.0ā.Ā
youtube
POCO's point of view on this: -
Many people must not know that POCO F2 was a thing. Yes, it was planned to be launched back in 2019 in its original form.Ā This was scheduled to happen just after Redmi K20 series India launch/ Mi 9T series global launch. After this device got launched to Global markets, few days later this was planned to be launched as Redmi K20S for Chinese market. But, very sadly this plan was cancelled. If this had happened, we shouldnāt be seeing POCO to be called as ārebranding brandā. We may have seen the alter reality.
I have covered POCO F2 in POCO Community India (Hereās theĀ linkĀ of that thread, I have shared the details in here), and after getting the invitation for the beta testing of it, my first ever thread was on POCO F2 (by this I think you guys can get an idea how I am emotionally attached to POCO, I even had made this silly Tweet once, now donāt take this Tweet seriously šš)
POCO F2 Black variant Prototype
POCO F2 Green Variant Prototype
POCO was also determined to re-enter the Indian & Global smartphone market.
Redmi in India always had the plans to bring the successor of Redmi K20 Pro in India. In Q1, 2020, we had the Covid outbreak throughout the country. Redmi K30 4G was introduced to India as POCO X2 for POCOās comeback.Ā
You guys must know that Redmi K30 Pro came to global markets as the POCO F2 Pro. ButĀ this wasnāt planned for Indian market. C Manmohan had said POCO F2 Pro wonāt be coming to India & this wonāt be POCO F1ās successor.Ā (This is theĀ sourceĀ article confirming my statement. In this article you will see that C Manmohan had addressed this on an interview with Amit Bhawani.)
youtube
During a fan meet-up at this same time,Ā Manu Kumar Jain had said that Redmi K30 Pro was coming to India as Redmi K30 Pro only. The source of this statement is from Techno Ruhezās Tech news (at that time I didnāt know about Mi FCs & that the people in these FCs get chance to meet/ talk with Xiaomi officials, so after knowing this I joined the Mi FC Kolkata Telegram group actuallyšš. And during this time like a normal fellow, I used to watch Tech Youtuberās contents daily)
Redmi K30 Pro was coming to India as Redmi K30 Pro only
But, as the Covid situations got worse & the lockdowns got extended,Ā launching a ā¹40K phone right after Mi 10 was big gamble for them.
In an online meeting on Zoom, Manu Kumar Jain was talking about Redmi K30 Pro (Screenshot taken from YouTube)
youtube
At this time, many people came to online (who werenāt that much active on internet before), online classes, job meetings, more OTT contents consumption happened like never before. So, people preferred budget smartphones for this & itās the same reason why Android Tablets are back again in the market.
So, observing the industry needs of that, Redmi K30 Pro was dropped for Indian market. Maybe Redmi K30 5G/ Redmi K30i could have been in their plans to bring as non pro version of Redmi K30 Pro in India, I donāt know about this.
Redmi K30 Series was planned to be launched for India
Even Mi Note 10, Note 10 Lite were in their plans for bringing in the Indian market, but this decision was also dropped.
They focused on budget Redmi 9 series & Note 9 series for the demand of public back in that time (and Mi Community India ban also happened by this).
Later Mi 10T series was brought to Indian market as to provide the essence of budget flagship (but it lacked Amoled for which it didnāt receive well response)
In the meantime,Ā POCO originally had the plans to bring F1ās successor to India, introduce M series right after X2ās launch. But, Covid + Lockdown hit their plans. Itās believed that they had the plans for recreating POCO F2 for India. Redmi K30 Ultra was planned to be brought as the āPOCO F2ā.
But after observing the situation which wasnāt right in that moment, the plan was again dropped. Their main focus was to work on their biggest product for 2020 āPOCO X3ā. This is why C series was introduced.Ā As the C series was introduced in the 3rd Generation, thatās why it has āPOCO C3ā naming.Ā (If you guys follow me on Twitter, then you guys should have seen that I have explained their nomenclature & recently discussed about the updated naming scheme in their 4th Generation, Iām sharing the link of that Twitter thread)
C series wasnāt planned in the first place
The things we started seeing from 2021: -
In early February 2021, Redmi K40 series was launched in mainland China. In March 2021, Redmi India introduced Redmi Note 10 Series Globally.
In this year, Xiaomi India had planned to differentiate their products in Xiaomi & Redmi brands.
I can still remember that we had been invited in the āRedmi Note 10 Series Indian launch Event Watch Partyā which was happening on over a Zoom Call arranged by Gitansh Anand Sir.
After the Launch Event was done & all of us went wild after watching the prices of Redmi Note 10, Note 10 Pro, Note 10 Pro Max, a Q&A Session on these products was arranged with Raghu Reddy Sir (Ex CBO, Xiaomi India). In that session we were given a hint that āRedmi K40 Series was coming to Indiaā.
Later you all know that Redmi K40 became POCO F3 for Global & Mi 11X for Indian market and Redmi K40 Pro+ became Mi 11i for Global & Mi 11X Pro for Indian market.
Finally, Redmi K40 Gaming got launched in Chinese market & this came to Indian market as POCO F3 GT.
Why rebranding happened?
From 4th generation of K series, Redmi made it as budget flagship with aggressive price point. Since in global markets the og āXiaomiā phones & various accessories do sell well, thatās why og Xiaomi products work in global markets.
POCO Global introduced F3 as almost at the same price of Pocophone F1, they were able to utilise that opportunity. And POCO India had brought POCO X3 Pro as the successor to POCO F1, but to redefine POCO F, they needed to go with K40G as POCO F3 GT.
In other hand,Ā Indian smartphone Industry has the mammoth share of market in āā¹7k - ā¹15Kā, the >ā¹20K market has slightly evolved & people who were buying flagships were directly preferring phones >ā¹40K. Phones at ~ā¹50k were placed as flagships by Oneplus (iQOO wasnāt in the competition before this). If one was going up >ā¹55K, then people were preferring Samsung Galaxy S in Android & Apple iphones.
So, bringing actual Xiaomi branded Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro was like a gamble which Xiaomi India understood with Mi 10. So, budget flagships with aggressive pricing were their choice to go with. Thatās why, Mi 11X series happened.
This is why we are watching og Redmi products in Indian market with either Xiaomi or POCO branding nowadays.
And for Global markets POCO is launching the Redmi Products with their customizations to bring in aggressive pricing.
POCO-Redmi was planned with POCO F2 - Redmi K20S from 2019
This is why we have now POCO F4 series.
Return of Redmi K in India: -
I have said in this blog that, Redmi India has always tried to bring the K series back to Indian market. But since, Redmi K series is flagship offering from āRedmiā brand, now Redmi in India canāt put the K in their desirable price point, this can become too much expensive & a crazy gamble in 2021 right after lockdowns of 2020.
So, finally in 2022 the Redmi K is coming back to India in the form of āRedmi K5Oiā.Ā Here āiā stands for āIndiaā, i.e., āi = For Indiaā.
Well, this is an unreleased product at the time of my writing, so I should not be talking about it that much, but I can assure that in that price segment where itās coming in, will be the āmost powerfull smartphoneā and gamerās delight. For your kind information Redmi Note 11T Pro which is launched in Global markets as POCO X4 GT & this is coming as Redmi K50i in India.
This was also planned to be launched as POCO X4 GT in India as the successor to POCO X3 Proās performance icon, but Redmi needed this device to reboot K series for India.
Hope that you guys liked my blog & understand what has happened in past 3-4 years with POCO F & Redmi K. I also hope that you have understood why this happened. I tried my best to make this in simple language with interesting & informative presentation.
I have one request, if you guys liked & found this blog as helpful, please share this to your friends & family members who are also interested in Xiaomi & POCO.
I personally want all Xiaomi & POCO Fans to know about this Globally. I have explained those topics which used to be unknown/ not understandable to most of the people. Hope that everyone read this blog.

About 4 months after presenting the Redmi K30 and K30 5G, Xiaomi has finally made the most leading model of the Redmi brand for 2020 official. The new Redmi K30 Pro is official and is exactly what we all expected from it. This is the renewal of the Redmi K20 Pro, launched in Europe as Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, which managed to conquer so many hearts based on an exceptional technical section added to a price-performance ratio rarely seen so far in the telephone market.
Design
Except for a few small changes, the design of the Redmi K30 Pro, as well as its twin brother the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition, is not very different from the Redmi K30 presented at the end of the year. We find again a device built-in aluminum and glass, the front of which is almost entirely occupied by a large 6.67-inch screen.
At the back, a circular camera module leads the central part of the glass panel, available in several different colors, including silver, blue, white and purple.
It does, however, change the screen. Redmi has decided to abandon the IPS technology of the Redmi K30 and go for an AMOLED panel at Full HD + resolution, which unfortunately loses the high refresh rate of its younger brothers along the way. Although this will not be a problem for the vast majority that still has a terminal with a screen at 60Hz, I am afraid that it could be a point against the rest.
Another difference compared to the Redmi K30 and K30 5G is the inclusion of a front camera module located on the top of the phone that opts for the āpop-upā format to leave a completely clean front and free of sensors. It is the same format that Xiaomi already used with the previous Redmi K20 and that it repeats now in its new flagship for 2020.
Technical Sheet
While other companies choose to equip their reference phones with processors of the Snapdragon 700 line in order to save costs, Xiaomi has succumbed to temptation and has endowed the Redmi K30 Pro with the Snapdragon 865, the most powerful chip of the South Korean company, causing the considerable price increase within the affordable high-end segment.
Next to the chip, we can find 6 or 8GB of RAM memory, in both cases based on LPDDR5 technology, and 128GB or 256GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage.
Its battery is located at 4700mAh capacity, and it adopts a 33W fast-charging system, although we still do not have wireless charging. Of course, MIUI 11 is the version of the system that brings these two terminals to life.
Cameras
Beyond its technical specifications, the photographic section is the aspect in which Redmi has put the most emphasis during the presentation of its new star phone. Depending on the chosen model, we will have a somewhat different camera system.
In both cases, the main sensor is a 64MP resolution Sony IMX686 with four-axis OIS and Super Pixel technology. Next to it are a 13MP āultra-wideā camera and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. In the normal model, the ātelephotoā sensor has 5MP of the resolution, while the Zoom model uses an 8MP sensor, with 3x optical zoom and digital zoom of up to 30. In addition, both the main sensor and the ātelephoto āFeature optical stabilization on the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom. One feature that the two models share is the ability to capture video at 8K resolution.
The pop-up camera is the same in both cases. It has a resolution of 20MP and is capable of capturing video at a rate of 120 FPS. In addition, the module has a fall detection system and an integrated notification LED with support for 5 different colors.
Price and Availability
The K30 Pro will first be launched in China and then in India. It is very likely that it is also marketed in Europe, it could be renamed Xiaomi Mi 10T or Mi 10 T Pro.
In China, the cost of Redmi K30 Pro in the version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of flash memory starts at $480. No other model on the Snapdragon 865 can boast such a low price. The cost of the Redmi K30 Pro version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of flash memory is $525.

How to Change The Punch-Hole Camera To Battery Indicator? Since the Punch-hole cameras are introduced to smartphones many developers are trying to design something more innovative and attractive for smartphones with punch-hole cameras. In the initial days, some wallpaper designers introduced some mesmerizing wallpapers which are specially designed for Punch-hole camera smartphones.

Qualcommās latest chipsets which were launched in 2019, the Snapdragon duo 865 and 765 are bundled with 5G support. Qualcomm has made it mandatory for the OEMs to bundle 5G modem if they are launching the phones with these chipsets. While the Snapdragon 865 is the flagship chipset, the latter is the midrange chipset which will be powering the budget-smartphones.
So below we have the best 5G phones in 2020 which users can buy and make their purchase future proof. 5G in India is said to be launched by the year 2021 as per the reports from Jio. Further, if you want to know how 5G works and everything about 5G then head to this link.

The Oneplus 8 has a 6.55 inch 90 Hz of refresh rate display having fluid AMOLED curved display.

4. OnePlus 8 Pro
The OnePlus 8 Pro is the best OnePlus has to offer as of now. The phone has all the bells and whistles of a flagship phone and the hardware is just right up to the mark. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 865 5G coupled with 8 to 12 GB of RAM.

5. Samsung Galaxy S20 5G
Not many good compact-sized smartphones are there in the market as of now. Especially if you look at the flagship-level hardware, the display always goes all the way up to 6.7 inches on an average. But if you are looking for a high-end flagship 5G phone to buy in 2020 in a compact size then the Galaxy S20 is the right choice for you. The Galaxy S20 doesnāt miss out any major feature from the S20 Ultra except that witty 100x zoom lens and the battery size. Rest of the specs remain the same.

However, the international variant is 5G ready and considering its compact design and with flagship level hardware this is easily the best compact 5g phone to buy in 2020.
6. Oppo Find X2
Oppoās take on the flagship game starts right from its top of the line Oppo Find X2. This time Oppo has used the top of the line hardware and materials to make this perfect flagship 5G phone for 2020. There is a pro version of the Oppo Find X2 as well which more or less is the same phone except with a different back design and a slightly better camera. Not only that Oppo has recently even revealed a Lamborghini edition of its Find X2. Considering such attractive designs and options from oppo it makes a striking contender that is in the list of best 5G phones in 2020.
7. Motorola Edge+
Motorola in 2020 is back with its top tier flagship phone that has all the bells and whistles of a flagship phone. The phone has a massive 6.7 inches curved AMOLED display with a 90 Hz of refresh rate. Powering the phone is the Qualcommās snapdragon 865 5G chipset along with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
Motorola has really bumped up the specs game this year at least on paper. Speaking of which the phone has a massive 5000 mAh of battery which supports turbocharging, wireless charging and does have reverse wireless charging as well. The edge+ has a 108 MP main sensor along with an ultrawide and a macro lens at the back and a 25 MP front camera for selfie.
The phone is a bit chunky because of its battery but has overall very good build quality and the design is also very much like a modern 2020 flagship phone.
8. Xiaomi Mi 10 5G
Xiaomiās 2020 flagship phone is the Xiaomi Mi 10. This flagship phone by Xiaomi gives all the performance from a modern flagship phone but undercuts the price by almost 40%. The Mi 10 is powered by Snapdragon 865 5G processor along with 8 to 12 GB of RAM. It has storage options up to 256 GB. Android 11 Beta arrives on Redmi K30 Pro and Poco F2 Pro
Android 11 Beta arrives on Redmi K30 Pro and Poco F2 Pro After the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, Android 11 Beta arrives on Redmi K30 Pro and Poco F2 Pro. Last week,ļæ½ļæ½XiaomiĀ released the beta version ofĀ AndroidĀ 11 for two smartphones:Ā Mi 10Ā andĀ Mi 10 Pro.Ā Now, it's time for theĀ Redmi K30Ā Pro andĀ Poco F2 Pro toĀ receive the new mobile OS fromĀ Google,Ā which contains a series of improvements and interesting news. First of all, it is good to remember that we are talking about a beta build, so several problems can be found.Ā Therefore, we do not recommend in any way installing it on your daily use device, as this can compromise usability. Android 11 Beta arrives on Redmi K30 Pro and Poco F2 Pro It is also important to note that this ROM is still AOSP, that is, it does not bring MIUI, Xiaomi's proprietary interface.Ā Instead, we have only the simplest and most "pure" Android look, without any customization, something that can please some and displease others. How to install the beta version of Android 11 onĀ Redmi K30 ProĀ and Poco F2 Pro Taking into account that the Poco F2 Pro is just a renamed version of the Redmi K30 Pro, both share the same build of Android 11. However, the installation process is not so simple, as the device needs to have theĀ bootloaderĀ unlocked.Ā In addition, the "Mi Flashtool" program is also required.Ā Therefore, the procedure is only recommended if you really know how to use the Xiaomi tool. Redmi 9 first live pics reveal design similar to the Redmi K30
We saw the specs of the Redmi 9 family on Monday, and now we have first live pics of what is allegedly the mightiest member of the lineup - Redmi 9. The device has three shooters positioned vertically and a fingerprint scanner right below them> There is also a fourth snapper and an LED flash on the right side. This whole combo looks a lot like the Redmi K30 and Redmi K30i with its circular design and vertical alignments, although the camera placement with the flash and the fingerprint scanner reminisces more of the predecessor Redmi Note 8 Pro. The Redmi 9 is pictured in two colors...

Week 20 in review: Poco F2 Pro is here, huge iPhone 12 leak, Pixel 4a tested
Welcome to your weekās recap. The past seven days brought us the Poco F2 Pro, the triumphant return of no-nonsense flagship phone. Based on the Redmi K30 Pro, the Poco F2 Pro is the cheapest Snapdragon 865 phone in just about every market, starting at just $500/Ā500 for a 6/128GB model. Pre-orders are now live, shipments begin on May 19.
A huge iPhone 12 leak showed what Appleās upcoming lineup will look like, thanks to renders based on CAD schematics. The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro will adopt an iPad Pro-like design with flat sides and squarish edges. The iPhone 12 Pro will come in three sizes ā 5.4-inch (which will be about the size of a 4.7-inch iPhone SE 2020), a 6.1-inch and a 6.7-inch. All three will use OLED panel and at least the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch are expected to have faster 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate and smaller notches. The Pro iPhones will also get exclusive LiDAR and 3x telephoto cameras. The main camera is expected to stay 12MP, but Apple will increase the sensor size.
We also got a big Google Pixel 4a leak. The phone was benchmarked, its battery was testedtoo. The Snapdragon 730 posted expected scores in AnTuTu and Geekbench and didnāt have issues with modern games. Impressively the Pixel 4aās 3,080mAh battery managed to achieve up to 7 hours of screen on time.
The next big story is about the Nokia 9.3 PureView. Itās expected to use its 108MP camera to record 8K video. The Nokia 9.3 PureView will also be capable of āZEISS effectsā and have Pro and Night mode shooting.
It turns out the OnePlus 8 Proās custom 5MP sensor designed for IR and color filter images can see under certain fabrics. Because the camera lacks an IR filter, it can, under specific conditions, see through specific fabrics.
Realme unveiled the Narzo 10 and Narzo 10A smartphones. The Narzo 10 is based on the Realme 6i, while the Narzo 10A shares most of its specs with the triple-camera version of the Realme C3, but has a new flashy back.
Realme will start selling Narzo 10 in That White and That Green on May 18 at noon local time for INR11,999 ($158/Ā146). The Narzo 10A, available in So Blue or So White, will cost INR8,499 ($112/Ā104) and will arrive for its first sale on May 22.
The US has extended its restrictions on US companies to work with Huawei for another year. This means Huawei is unlikely to regain access to Google Mobile Services and by extension apps like the Play Store, YouTube, Gmail and Maps at least until May of 2021. Huawei is working tirelessly to expand its Huawei Mobile Services support and create a worthy alternative.
Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 768G, which is an overclocked variant of the popular Snapdragon 765G, sharing all of its internals, including the X52 5G modem.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A Quantum, which is a special version of the Galaxy A71 with a quantum cryptography aiming to offer unparalleled security. Itās a phone that is going to be selling in Samsungās home market of South Korea.
We heard two reports last week about the Samsung Galaxy Note20 and Note20+ā displays. One stated that both would be 120Hz but the latter one claimed only the Galaxy Note20+ will have a 120Hz, while the Note20 will get a 60Hz panel. And thereās not going to be a Galaxy Note20 Ultra.
Check out the full list of our most read stories below and see you in seven days!.
Yes, itās a rebadged Redmi K30 Pro, a companion to the Poco X2, which was based on the Redmi K30.
Details continue to change as Apple engineers try to figure out what works and what doesnāt. A 64MP camera apparently falls in the ādoesnātā column.
The 108MP camera and Snapdragon 865 chipset that this phone allegedly has should have no issues with 8K/30fps video.
They are the Realme 6i and triple-cam Realme C3 for the Indian market.
It received a score of 118, slightly besting the iPhone 11 Pro Max, and Samsung Galaxy S10+ 5G.
The platform is an upgrade over the Snapdragon 765 series.
Official sales start on May 14.
President Trumpās new executive order extends the original ban for another year which means: still no Google services.
Itās a rebadged Galaxy A71 5G with a quantum random number generator chipset.
The future of the Xperia line isnāt looking too bright.
All three are up for pre-order while official sales begin on June 3.
Analyst Ross Young even supplied additional info that hints at what Samsung is doing to improve battery life to support the 120Hz mode.
If Google can manage to sell it this cheaply, it might give iPhone SE buyers something else to consider.
WeĀre yet to see a phone pass the 600,000 threshold.
It will ship from June 1 onwards.
It was previously rumored to arrive on May 22.
The Snapdragon 730 and 6GB of RAM perform well, the 3,080mAh battery even better.
The info comes from Samsung itself, allegedly.

Xiaomi Redmi K30 to be Unveiled on December 10: Hereās Everything we Know
The Redmi K30 will be launching next month with 5G support, punch-hole display and 60-megapixel camera.
The Redmi K30 will be launching next month with 5G support, punch-hole display and 60-megapixel camera.
Xiaomi is preparing to launch a successor for its popular Redmi K20 series. The new Redmi K30 was earlier teased by the company and it seems that we finally have a launch date. Xiaomi will be launching the new K30 series on December 10 in China. The new handset will also come with 5G support which means it will be the first phone under Redmi series to feature the next-gen connectivity standard.
As mentioned, Redmiās GM Lu Weibing had given an early look at the Redmi K30 last month during a launch presentation in China. The teaser of the upcoming phone showcased as device with a punch-hole display with a dual-camera setup on the top right corner. This means that the handset could have almost zero bezels. Weibing had also confirmed that the handset will support dual 5G, which means it will work with both SA (Standalone mode) and the NSA (non-standalone) networking. NSA basically relies on the existing LTE infrastructure for certain tasks.
The handset is rumoured to feature a 120Hz refresh rate display which means that Xiaomi means business this time. It is also rumoured to launch with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chip, and possibly the Pro variant will rock the Snapdragon 855+. The handset is also expected to feature Sonyās latest 60-megapixel IMX686 camera sensor along with additional camera sensors to capture ultra-wide, telephoto and macro photos. While we are expecting an in-display fingerprint sensor, a rumour suggests that the Xiaomi Redmi K30 will sport side fingerprint sensor instead. The handset should be priced similar to the Redmi K20 series and will potentially compete against the likes of the recently launched Realme X2 Pro and the OnePlus 7T.

Redmi K30 Pro sells out in seconds, at least 25,000 units pushed
The Redmi K30 Pro family arrived earlier this week in two versions - the more impressive Redmi K30 Pro Zoom with a telephoto camera, and a vanilla variant, swapping the zoom lens with a macro shooter. Both went on pre-order at the March 24 event, and today the first flash sale took place. According to the official Redmi profile on Weibo, all units were sold out in 30 seconds and Xiaomi gained CNY100 million (about $14 million) in revenue in that minuscule time slot. While the number sure looks impressive, it is better if we put numbers into perspective. Since the most affordable...
