@bnha-mirrors Zine Preview: IzuOcha Angst Illustrated by @rolierose, edited by Ryxmas, written as a companion to @minaaashido’s work!
Summary: A hero’s smile is worth a thousand more from fans and friends alike; but the price of those thousands is wrapped in guarded secrets, ebbing away at their own. Even beneath the canopy of sakuras in which all the world is right, it’s not easy to forget the sounds of their failures coming from the hollow metal artifact in the loneliness of the night:
Click, click, click.
*
First 1,000 Words:
“What are you, a shell-less snail?!”
Brushing off the illogical inflammatory taunt, Deku pursued his target around a sharp corner into a park. For a band of mish-mashed thieves, they were surprisingly efficient at using their quirks in tandem: one hardening, one water-creation, one with voice-projection, and a fourth with an intriguing place-swapping ability.
A snappy craaack! confirmed his suspicions as the loud bearded man was suddenly a boisterous lizard with hardened scales.
“You ain’t gonna catch me, hero!”
He really wanted to study that place-swapping quirk later.
“Maybe you should consider a career change if you don’t want chased!” Deku shouted, cracking his knuckles. Good, the park was mostly empty: maybe he could end the chase here. But he noticed as he turned yet another corner that he had lost immediate line-of-sight. Where—?
Ochako’s voice hollered through his headset. “[Behind!]”
“What—?” Deku jolted back, spinning with wide arms as someone tried to spring onto him from a tree.
THWWWWAAACK! His elbow caught the lizard villain’s face with his armored elbow with far more force than Deku meant to.
Oops.
“Got him!” He chuckled nervously as he caught the semi-conscious man before he fell entirely, offering a quick apology as he removed the stolen wares away from the lizard’s reach. “Sorry about the face.”
“It’s just like you to apologize to a criminal.” Ochako ran towards him, tugging along her own floating, obscenity-yelling prisoner.
“Did we catch all four?”
“Shouto’s got the other two back at the entrance.” She fumbled with her headset, repeating herself to confirm their success with their office. “Iida, could you send the police? We’ve got them locked down.”
“[Will do! Good work, team!]”
“Why didn’t Iida join the chase? This is his niche.” Deku whined, but he knew the answer: it was Tenya’s turn to sit tight at their firm and act as commander. He didn’t mind the running in of itself: it was refreshing compared to his regular calls of “please break open X, Y, and Z”.
His report to the quick-to-arrive officers went well, though one frowned while scribbling notes.
“Didn’t that hurt?”
Deku blinked. “I’m sorry?”
The officer poked Deku’s arm with the butt of a pen. “You punched the apprehended suspect with your elbow. Doesn’t your quirk work better with your fists?”
“Ah! Umm … I guess it hurts a little?” He supposed, grabbing at his elbow as he bowed forward in embarrassment. “I did it without properly processing the situation, but I’m fine—really.”
It took half a minute for the officer’s suspicions to be filed somewhere under ‘that’s a Pro-Hero for you, I guess’. The officer gave a sigh and a shrug. “Thank you for your services today, Deku!”
Deku, freed from his obligations, impatiently paced himself down the brick-patterned walkway, waving to Ochako when he caught her watching. She strained to return the gesture. Shouto too, as he was caught up in the arduous task of defrosting the other perpetrators for apprehension. Deku didn’t mind the waiting; he used this moment to observe the park they ended the chase in.
The impassioned scent of burgeoning love in a gratuitous season for sakuras wafted into their lungs with every breath. Thick, wiry umber branches lacking the limitations of individuality twisted together into an unrefined canopy, curtained with bounteous pink blossoms tinted with pearly sun-kissed creams and under-bellied lavenders, perforated only slightly by the cerulean sky above: this beauteous spring, under an otherworldly awning befitting of only the utmost of renewed beginnings, shaped the backdrop for the cameras of approaching reporters.
Though breathtaking, his attention never fully strayed from his companions. He wouldn’t have the chance to talk once the reporters snaked in. So, the moment the police led the last two offenders off-site, Deku clapped a hand on Shouto’s shoulder, the inner fanboy freely leaking out.
“Shouto! It’s been a while!” Deku exclaimed in delight. “I don’t get to see you that often anymore, what with your office all the way in the third district!”
The stoic friend bowed his head so the media couldn’t notice his slight of smile. “Then we should chase cross-town criminals more often.”
Deku’s passionate babble persisted as they tried to catch up on all they had missed since—the Ugware incident last month! Had it been that long? Forty-two days, eighteen hours, and twenty-seven minutes since he last spoke to Shouto.
Far too long.
Ochako walked over to join their conversation moments before the reporters wheedled their way up front. She no longer sported the skin-tight suit of her early debut years; though freeing, it did little to protect her from falls during quirk releases, and did even less when she got injured. She retained the pink-on-black space theme, but much like Thirteen (one of her heroic inspirations), she steered towards reinforced padding.
Shouto, clad in a new wine-red ensemble as a step towards unspoken reparations, addressed the reporters inquiries with a soft monologue. He had mellowed outside of high school, though he continued to err on the socialize-as-needed basis.
Between them stood Deku: a little taller, a little wider, and a slightly bit harrier. Compared to the heroes flanking his sides, he was hardly indistinguishable from his debut: a black-bands-on-green pattern, a metallic visor, armored black boots and white gloves, and a red belt with various first-aid pouches—all indicative of an ingrained reluctance to deviate from his origin. Other heroes changed with the seasons of their careers, but he endured as a formidable evergreen among deciduous peers. An exemplary malachite icon armored from change, exceptionally conspicuous in a realm brimming with blossoms.
Deku, ever the sore thumb, cast the most notable smile of them all. His right arm twitched incrementally with an audible click, click, click.
The erratic motion caught Ochako’s eye. A fleeting moment of buckshot dread faltered her earnest grin, only brief enough to escape outside attention. She side-stepped closer to Deku’s right, raising her hand to grab at his own to obscure it from immediate sight.

This is going to be a kick-ass zine, seriously. Go look at the previews. Pre-Orders open April 28th!

The Realme Watch S launches with blood-oxygen, heart-rate and workout-tracking abilities
Signs of a second-generation Realme smartwatch reared their heads in September 2020 with new certifications for such a device spotted at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). This leak suggested that the device would be able to offer a heart-rate monitor, as well as a round face on which to view its read-outs. Now, a new launch by the OEM has confirmed this spec, along with a number of others.
The new Watch S does indeed have a heart-rate sensor, rated for "real-time" measurements, as well as one for blood oxygen saturation. Their data is displayed on a 1.3-inch screen that can automatically adjust for changes in ambient light so as to (ideally) stay visible at all times.
The Realme Watch S also has IP68 ingress protection (although this was confirmed through its recent leaks) and supports 16 different exercise types, including cycling; outdoor and indoor running; strength training; elliptical machine training; rowing machine training and yoga.
The OEM has priced this new smartwatch, which only comes in black with straps in either the same color, orange or camo green, at 14,999 Pakistani rupees (~US$99).
Realme has also confirmed that this wearable will launch in India (as it also might in the US soon). However, some fans of this company's accessories might have noticed the absence of any mention of its Pro variant at this point.
It is slated to have a larger 1.39-inch display made of AMOLED and a 420mAh battery compared to 390mAh in Pakistan's latest sports-focused smartwatch, but may have very similar specs to the vanilla S otherwise.
An OEM executive has stated that the Watch S Pro will also become available in India, but has yet to specify when and for how much.

Week 27 in review: OnePlus Nord rumors, iPhone 12 won’t have charger in the box
The OnePlus Nord was the talk of week 27. We saw a few teasers for it and we know it packs a triple camera on the rear as well as a dual camera on the front, that it’s powered by the Snapdragon 765G and that it will cost under $500.
We already had a good idea that Apple is planning to ditch the earbuds from the iPhone 12 retail package, likely to boost AirPods sales. Well it seems Apple will also ditch the in-box charger from its future iPhones, with the pretext of a reduced environmental hit. Analysts believe the move aims to offset the added cost of 5G in the iPhone 12.
In more positive news the iPhone 12 series will be able to shoot 4K video at up to 240fps for some next-level slow-mo footage.
In Samsung rumors, we got our first look at the Galaxy Note20 Ultra in Mystic Bronze and also a side by side look at the cases for the Galaxy Note20+ and Note20 Ultra, driving home just how much bigger the Ultra model will be.
We also saw the 45mm Galaxy Watch3 from all angles, its new watch faces, period tracking in the calendar app and features like Spotify, ECG monitoring and new notification icons.
We’ll close with the first rumors about the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875. It seems it will be mass produced by TSMC on a 5nm node, have the new Cortex-X1 prime core, support 100W fast charging and reportedly cost 40% more than the Snapdragon 865.
Those were the highlights of the week! See you next one.
Tumblr media
The company released the first part of its short documentary series detailing the development of the upcoming model.
Tumblr media
It’s still running MIUI 11, but with the most up to date base OS now.
Tumblr media
There’s little we don’t know about the watch following these leaks.
Tumblr media
The phone will cost KRW1.32 million, or about $1,100.
Tumblr media
Sales begin tomorrow at 12 PM.
Tumblr media
The images were published to Samsung Ukraine’s Note8 page, but quickly taken down
Tumblr media
Ming-Chi Kuo and analysts at Barclays both say so. Also, Kuo predicts a new iPad is coming this year, a new iPad mini next year.
Tumblr media
We could see the new Moto G series members debut as early as next Tuesday.
Tumblr media
The Note 20+ will come in Copper color with a matte finish, in addition to its several glossy finish colors.
Tumblr media
No word on the phone’s launch though.
Tumblr media
There are rumors of a significant price hike. The fast charging will be geared towards gaming phones, which typically have large batteries.
Tumblr media
It’s rumored to be a rebadged version of the global Redmi Note 9 Pro.
Tumblr media
It remains to be seen if all 12-series models will get this feature or if it’s strictly for the Pro versions.
Tumblr media
The full list consists of 59 applications, including Baidu maps and WeChat.
Tumblr media
The 5G-capable SoC will power up the OnePlus Nord.
Tumblr media
The phone’s specs have been leaked on Twitter.
Tumblr media
The phone will be accompanied by the Realme Buds Q true wireless earphones.
Tumblr media
The phone is expected to bring the cost of Samsung-branded 5G phones even lower.
Tumblr media
Google is keeping quiet on the release date though.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Price Reveal, Mi 10 Launch, iQoo 3, Oppo Reno 3 Pro, and More Tech News This Week
Tumblr media
Samsung Galaxy S20 price announcement, Mi 10 launch, and MWC Barcelona 2020 cancellation were some of the biggest tech news stories that dominated this week. Additionally, Xiaomi introduced its Redmi 8A Dual smartphone and increased the Redmi Note 8 price in India. Further, iQoo, which is a Vivo sub-brand in China, and Oppo revealed the launch dates for their new phones in the country. Read on for more on these and other major tech happenings of this week.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 price in India revealed
Days after Samsung unveiled the new Galaxy S20 series at an event in San Francisco, the South Korean tech giant has announced the India pricing and sale date for the new phones. According to a press note shared by the company on Saturday, Samsung Galaxy S20 series pre-bookings are now open in the country and the interested consumers can order the phones right now. The company is only taking orders for 128GB models of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra. So, it is unclear if or when it plans to release other storage variants in the country.
Coming to the pricing, Samsung Galaxy S20 price in India is set at Rs. 66,999, while the Galaxy S20+ will cost Rs. 73,999, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra is priced at Rs. 92,999. As mentioned earlier, these are the prices for the 128GB models of the Samsung Galaxy S20-series phones. Samsung says, the pre-booking consumers will be able to receive their orders starting March 6.
In terms of the specifications, Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra, all three phones run Android 10 with One UI on top and feature Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display with 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy S20 has a 6.2-inch QHD+ (1440×3200 pixels) screen, whereas the Galaxy S20+ comes with 6.7-inch QHD+ screen and the Galaxy S20 Ultra packs a 6.9-inch QHD+ screen. The Indian variants of the Samsung phones are likely powered by Exynos 990 SoC and support just 4G LTE connectivity.
Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra First Impressions
For the imaging needs, the Samsung Galaxy S20 has a triple rear camera setup that houses a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, 12-megapixel wide-angle shooter, and a 64-megapixel telephoto camera. The Galaxy S20+, on the other hand, packs an additional DepthVision sensor — apart from the three cameras identical to what are available on the Galaxy S20. Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra houses a quad rear camera setup with a 108-megapixel wide-angle shooter, 48-megapixel telephoto shooter, 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and a DepthVision camera. For selfies, the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ include a 10-megapixel selfie camera, whereas Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with a 40-megapixel selfie camera.
There is no word on when Galaxy Z Flip foldable phone, which was unveiled alongside the Galaxy S20 series this week, will be released in India or what will its price tag. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is second foldable phone of the company and it sports a clamshell design similar to the Motorola Razr (2019). Samsung Galaxy Z Flip has been priced at $1,380 (roughly Rs. 98,400) in the US and it is already on sale in limited quantities in select markets.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip First Impressions
Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro launch
After weeks of teasers and leaks, Xiaomi’s new flagship Mi 10 smartphone pair was unveiled during an online presentation this week. Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro share a number of specifications but there are a lot of differences as well. The Mi 10 series price starts at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 41,300) in China. There is no word on India launch right now but Xiaomi India chief Manu Kumar Jain did tease Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro India release, however warned the consumers that the India prices won’t be in line with the Chinese pricing.
In terms of the specifications, both Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro run on MIUI 11, based on Android 10, and are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. The phones feature a hole-punch design with a 6.67-inch AMOLED Curved full-HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate. Additionally, you will get in-screen fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, 5G support, Wi-Fi 6, and NFC on both phones.
Other specifications of the Mi 10 include 108-megapixel main camera with 8K video recording support, 13-megapixel wide-angle shooter, and a pair of 2-megapixel cameras. The Mi 10 comes equipped with a 4,780mAh battery that supports 30W wired charging and 30W wireless charging. The phone also supports 10W reverse wireless charging. Mi 10 Pro, on the other hand, features 108-megapixel main camera, 20-megapixel wide-angle camera, 12-megapixel camera, and 8-megapixel telephoto shooter. The Mi 10 Pro packs 4,500mAh battery that supports 50W wired fast charging, 30W wireless fast charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
MWC 2020 cancelled
Following the decision of a number of major mobile phone companies and telecom giants to pull out of this month’s MWC Barcelona trade fair over coronavirus fears, the GSM Association (GSMA) decided to cancel the whole event. Because of the cancellation, some smartphone makers have postponed their launch events that were supposed to take place one or two days ahead of the MWC 2020’s official public opening, while others are hosting online-launches directly from Barcelona.
Mobile World Congress Cancellation: Counting the Cost of the No-Show Trade Fair
MWC 2020 cancellation will have not only impact Barcelona’s economy but will also lead to monetary losses for companies that were ready to showcase their wares at the event and were planning for weeks. Smaller companies will be impacted the most as such trade fairs give them an opportunity to highlight their products in front of global media and other attendees. GSMA’s decision to cancel hasn’t gone well with everyone as many are calling it unnecessary. Barcelona mayor and Spanish health authorities also said there was no reason to call off MWC. Additionally, World Health Organisation (WHO) noted that there is no reason to cancel large gatherings right now.
The panic wasn’t limited to just MWC 2020, Facebook also cancelled a global marketing event that was supposed to take place in San Francisco. The conference was scheduled to take place next month. Unlike MWC that was expected to host around 100,000 people, Facebook’s event would have only seen around 5,000 attendees.
iQoo 3 India launch on February 25
iQoo, which is Vivo’s sub-brand in China, officially made its India debut earlier this month. The brand insists that it is a separate legal entity in India and is not a Vivo sub-brand. Whatever the case, iQoo is getting ready to unveil its first phone in the country. Set to be called iQoo 3, the phone will be launched on February 25. From what we know so far, it is going to be a flagship phone. Alongside India, iQoo 3 is also being launched in China on February 25.
Recent teasers indicated that the iQoo 3 will come with a quad rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary camera sensor. The phone is also teased to pack UFS 3.1 storage. Additionally, it is expected that the phone will support 55W fast charging and sports a hole-punch design. The brand has also teased the phone’s long lasting battery and enhanced cameras.
Realme C3 Review
Oppo Reno 3 launching in India on March 2
Chinese smartphone maker Oppo is all set to launch its Reno 3 Pro smartphone in India on March 2. The Reno 3 Pro model being released in India is going to be different from the Reno 3 Pro 5G released in China. One of the key differences that we already know is the presence of a dual selfie shooter on the front in dual hole-punch design. One of the front shooter is going to house a 44-megapixel image sensor, Oppo has teased. Additionally, the Reno 3 Pro will only support 4G LTE connectivity in India, unlike the China model.
Thanks to teaser images, we already know that there are going to be four rear cameras, however the details of the cameras are unclear. Other specifications of the phone are also a mystery right now but we can expect Snapdragon 700 or 800-series SoC, and around 6 to 8GB of RAM, and over 4,000mAh battery. We will know more when Oppo officially unveil the phone next month.
Redmi 8A Dual launch, Redmi Note 8 price hike
Xiaomi was quite busy this week and the company not only launched the Mi 10 series in China. It also introduced the budget Redmi 8A Dual phone in India and increased the price of Redmi Note 8. Talking about the Redmi 8A Dual first, the budget phone has been priced at Rs. 6,499 for the 2GB RAM + 32GB storage variant, while its 3GB RAM + 32GB storage option is priced at Rs. 6,999. The first sale for the phone has been scheduled for February 18.
Tumblr media
The dual-SIM (Nano) Redmi 8A Dual runs MIUI 11, based on Android 9 Pie, and features a 6.22-inch HD+ (720×1520 pixels) display. Under the hood, the smartphone has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, paired with up to 3GB of RAM. The Redmi 8A Dual has the dual rear camera setup as the USP. The camera setup includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Additionally, there is 8-megapixel selfie shooter on the phone and a 5,000mAh battery.
Huawei Watch GT 2 Review
Coming to Redmi Note 8 whose 4GB RAM model got a price hike this week. Xiaomi blamed the supply issues because of coronavirus outbreak in China as the reason for the price increase. Earlier, the phone’s 4GB + 64GB model used to sell at Rs. 9,999, now it is available at Rs. 10,499. The 6GB RAM version continues to retail at Rs. 12,999.
BSNL Bharat AirFibre broadband service expansion
In telecom news this week, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) expanded the availability of its Bharat AirFibre service to Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Haryana, and Telangana. The state-owned telco is in plans to bring Bharat AirFibre service across all of its telecom circles in the near future. It was initially rolled out in Veenavanka of Telangana’s Karimnagar district in January.
Additionally, BSNL extended the validity of its Rs. 999 prepaid recharge plan. With the latest development, the Rs. 999 BSNL prepaid plan is valid for 270 days. This shows an increase over the existing 240 days validity. The update is applicable in the Chennai and Tamil Nadu circles for a limited period. The Rs. 999 BSNL prepaid recharge plan offers 250 minutes of voice calls throughout the validity — alongside access to personalised ringback tones (PRBT) for 60 days. It, however, doesn’t include any high-speed data benefits.

Vodafone Rs. 499 prepaid recharge launch and other tech news this week
Vodafone launched a new Rs. 499 prepaid recharge this week that comes with a validity of 70 days. With the launch of the new Rs. 499 prepaid plan, the telco has also increased the validity of its existing Rs. 555 prepaid plan to as many as 77 days. The Rs. 555 Vodafone prepaid plan previously offered 70 days validity and same benefits as the Rs. 499 plan. The new prepaid plan is available for both Vodafone and Idea Cellular subscribers, though it is initially limited to select circles. The Rs. 499 prepaid recharge plan brings unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls, along with 1.5GB high-speed data per day for 70 days.
