Rasha and Josephine are so.. I think Josie is just. Very clear about her intentions and very cute. Rasha thinks being around her is like a breath of fresh air. Especially after Rasha has fully committed to her place as inquisitor and thus has to deal with the politics of everything, she and Josie get along so well. Rasha and Josie both understand how image is everything and they’re really in line with one another on how to progress the inquisition. That, and Rasha actually really enjoys participating in the grand game, even if she’s clearly at a disadvantage and Orlesian makes her nervous. They would have each others backs. In general, Rasha would much rather keep in the shadows and not stand out, but Josie would be the perfect person to pull her out of that mindset. Who can resist a public duel for the woman they love. But.. Josephine truly and deeply caring about the intrinsic value of life.. would definitely serve as a reflection to Rasha and to be quite honest that would not go over well. Josephine’s past would trigger her pretty badly. It would go like this. Josie is a good person -> Rasha observes this -> Josie would rather avoid killing or causing death -> However Rasha might feel, she does not act the same as Josie since she is literally an assassin -> Rasha thinks she is evil -> Rasha thinks Josie deserves better -> Rasha breaks up with Josie. Rasha is not evil and also cares about the intrinsic value of life but that is buried deeep deep behind a few brick walls. I think Josie is just enough of a good person that it would make the contrast between them very clear and that would freak Rasha out eventually. Would the betrothal be enough to make Rasha’s headstrong side turn up and be like “fuck everything I do deserve this and Josephine and I do deserve to be happy and I will fight for that”? Maybe. Maybe that would be enough. And then they would be happy together.
