It occurs to me that maybe one of the reasons I didn't necessarily percieve Raphael as my enemy was because I unlocked that one scene where he saves you when the Goblin priestess imprisons you in selunes temple in act 1 right on my first playthrough. It made a pretty big impression on me and made him seem less hostile. I think it was this scene that really made me look forward to our next meeting.

Being rescued from the clutches of the enemy is a popular romance fiction trope for a reason, and it probably activated something in my brain.

It's too bad he doesn't bring it up later to tease Tav because that seems like something he would do.
