For the second time in less than a year, patrons at Blake Shelton's Ole Red Tishomingo witnessed the concert debut of one of his teenage stepsons.

Zuma Rossdale, 15 — the middle of three sons Shelton's wife, pop icon Gwen Stefani, shares with her ex-husband, rocker Gavin Rossdale — played his first public performance Monday, July 29 at Ole Red Tishomingo.

Zuma, who will turn 16 on Aug. 21, covered two songs by up-and-coming Oklahoma country music superstar Zach Bryan during the short acoustic set at his stepfather's hometown restaurant, bar and venue.

"I had no idea that he was going to come out ... and sing until Blake started talking," said concertgoer Jamie McGaugh, a devoted Shelton fan from Coalgate. 

"He did mention Kingston, and he said Kingston's influence was Gwen, but Zuma's influence was him — and he was all proud about that."

An Ada native, Shelton, 48, made Tishomingo his adopted hometown several years ago, and he opened the first location in his Ole Red bar and restaurant chain there in 2017. The eight-time Grammy nominee is known to occasionally perform at his Johnston County hot spot.

Shelton and Stefani, 54, started dating in 2015 after they met when they were both working as coaches on the hit NBC series "The Voice." The couple live on the sprawling Ten Point Ranch near Tishomingo, where they wed on July 3, 2021.

Last August, Kingston, then 17, played his first public set inside The Doghouse music hall at Ole Red Tishomingo, performing a series of original alternative-rock songs. An encouraging Oklahoma audience of about 400 music lovers witnessed his debut, including McGaugh, and her mother, Lanell Eclair, also of Coalgate.

"We made pretty good time. It did dawn on me the other day ... 'He wasn't popped up at Tish in a while; I'd better be on alert because he may be gonna do that, because he does it once or twice a year.' You never know about him. But I never dreamed about it being on a Monday night," she said.

"I was shocked when he walked out. I was taken aback ... because I was like, 'Wait, he never has on a cowboy hat."

Along with the white hat, Shelton took the Ole Red stage in a blue plaid shirt, blue jeans and boots, to perform "Playboys of the Southwestern World," a fan-favorite song he dedicated to his youngest stepson, Apollo. Stefani and Apollo watched the show at a table alongside the pop star's sister-in-law, niece and nephews. Both the boys wore cowboy, hats, too, McGaugh said.

Shelton played��"Pour Me a Drink," his new duet with Post Malone, solo before introducing Zuma. The teen took the stage dressed in a pale striped button-down shirt, blue jeans, brown boots and a black cowboy hat and carrying an acoustic guitar.

"This is Zuma, everybody," Shelton said, as the crowd cheered appreciatively.

"How y'all doing?" the teen drawled as he settled on a tall stool.

"Get the microphone where they can hear it," Shelton coached, adjusting the microphones for Zuma.

Strumming his guitar, Zuma sang solo on two popular songs by Bryan: "Oklahoma Smokeshow" and "Revival."

Everybody was excited. I think everybody was very open with Kingston. But this was more of the vibe that's over there, the country music. It seemed like everybody knew everything, and it was very shocking how good his voice was. I had no idea. He was very good," McGaugh said.

After earning rousing applause for his two-song set, Zuma yielded the stage back to Shelton, who closed the half-hour acoustic show with his signature song, "Ol' Red."

The hot water cascaded down his sculpted body. He groaned as he ran his hands through his luscious chocolate locks. He lathered his shoulders as thoughts of her ran through his mind. He was captivated by her. She seemed to consume his every waking moment. Liam had crossed the line yet again. Every time it seemed his transgressions got more and more out of hand. He refused to allow his friend’s actions to ruin his final couple of days in the states. 

Bastien had taken over the King’s detail while they were in Waxahachie for Savannah’s wedding. For the next 48 hours, Liam was not his charge, he was his friend. His thoughts went back to her. She represented hope, possibility, promise. He had no idea what was to come, but he knew that it would be an exciting adventure if she was at his side.  

As he pulled his white henley tee shirt over his head, his mind went back to the conversation he had at the reception with his cousin Tyler, who was a cyber-security analyst with the Department of Homeland security. Drake explained to Tyler that he would no longer be sitting with him and the rest of the bridal party because the girl who he had been telling Tyler about who works in advertising, who he met in New York was there, and he intended to spend as much time with her as he could. She was something special. She could be the one. “So you invited her to Sav’s wedding?” he inquired. 

“No, actually she is the friend of Sav’s college roommate, Mackenzie, and came as her plus one. I had no idea she would be here.”

 “Sounds like fate.”

“What are you saying?”

“I’m saying that of all the places in the world this one person could be, she is here at your sister’s wedding... in Waxahachie, TX. If this girl is the one, you’re screwed. You might as well spruce up your resume. She’s a career woman. She is not going to move to Cordonia for you, and you suck at long-distance relationships. I can probably get you in at my job. My guy Rob in HR owes me a favor.”

“I’ll keep that in mind if I ever get the courage to ask her out,” he told Tyler.

The truth was, he could easily see a future with Riley. She’s beautiful, honest, smart, quick-witted, and kind. His cousin’s words bounced around in his head as he pulled on his favorite distressed jeans giving himself a quick once over in the full-length mirror in the room his Mom had decorated for him at the ranch after she returned to the states when his dad passed.

He opened his laptop and took a look around the room. The Walker Ranch had been in his father’s family for several generations being passed down to the eldest male child, like each generation before. Drake stayed in Cordonia after his father died and was handsomely compensated by the crown. His college education was covered, and he and his sister received a stipend each month. Drake was always taught to do a lot with little and to save the rest. For years he lived at the palace and saved every penny. Being friends with Liam, he learned how to invest wisely and he did pretty well in the stock market. His newest pastime had been real estate investment. He had been buying foreclosed homes in and around Dallas and having his Mom’s brothers and his cousins fix them up before selling them for a generous profit. 

He was curious, he was now the rightful owner of the Walker Ranch. It had struggled in the past, but because of his business plans and wise investment, the family business was as strong as it had ever been and his mom was nearing retirement age. What if he and Riley did end up together? He knew the plan was for his cousin Miranda to replace his mom when she was ready, while he retained ownership, but where would that leave him? He pulled up the DHS website and clicked on the careers tab. He was reading a description of a position that he believed he would qualify for, Intelligence Analyst.  

Just then Liam plowed through his door without warning. 

“Li! What the fuck man?” he shouted as he closed his laptop abruptly. 

“My apologies, I hope I'm not interrupting.  I just wanted to apologize if I offended you. You were right, any woman can be a lot. Carsyn is not speaking to me, she thinks I'm interested in Riley.”

“You are interested in Riley. She's just not interested in you and it's killing you. Let me ask you something, why is it so hard for you to grasp that a smart beautiful woman would be interested in me over you?”

“It’s just.. It’s not that. I'm not accustomed to rejection. It intensifies my want for her.”

“ I hate to cut our conversation short but I have to head out. I’ve got a few stops to make before I pick up Riley.”

“Then I shall take my leave. Enjoy! Smart man, planning a date when it’s going to storm. I’m sure you won’t have a problem closing tonight,” he said as he left the room.

The evening came and Drake drove along the winding Country Road towards the city. He tapped his thumb against the steering wheel to the beat of Chris Stapleton’s, “Starting Over.”

Then he switched from Prime country to the Heart and Soul station on his XM Radio. If he was going to have her in his life it meant embracing all aspects of it. He knew that music was a big thing for her and although she would listen to a little bit of everything she loved R&B and Jazz.  A song by Luther Vandross came on and to his surprise, it was not very different from the country music he listened to all the time. The chorus was catchy and very fitting. 

“Excuse me Miss, what's your name? Where are you from, and can I come? And possibly, can I take you out tonight?”

He found himself humming the tune as he stepped into the local Nursery to pick up a houseplant to go along with the Pinot Grigio he bought as a gift for Riley.  He decided on a Prayer Plant. 

It was relatively low maintenance and he thought it would be entertaining to watch it curl up in darkness. He didn't want to do the same flowers and candy that everyone does. He wanted to take her something that she would keep for a while, and possibly would make her think of him when she saw it.  As much as he didn't want to admit it the thought of her dating someone else while he was back in Cordonia was driving him insane. 

He was nervous and he couldn't figure out why. They were just going to hear some live music.  But he wanted to impress her so badly. He knew that it was more likely that he would end up putting his foot in his mouth but with her, for some reason, it did not matter. When he pulled up in front of her place he put on ChapStick, and reached into his glove box, sprayed on some Chrome, and checked his breath before quickly gathering the gifts for her and heading toward the door. He tucked the house plant under his arm as he smoothed over his clothes as the elevator took him to her floor.  A small lump formed in his throat as he approached her door. 

She opened the door and his breath caught in his throat as he took in her appearance. She was dressed in a denim outfit with matching stiletto boots and oddly enough, the denim matched his jeans. It would almost appear planned. He was secretly thrilled. She smiled at him and he was sure he forgot his own name for a few seconds. She stretched up on her toes and kissed him sweetly on the cheek.

“Hey Drake, you smell delicious.”

 “Hey. Thanks. These are for you.”

“Aww, you brought me a houseplant and wine? I’m not worthy, but I love it. Thank you. Come in! I promise I’m almost ready.”

She sat the plant on the counter and placed the wine in her wine fridge. 

“You look greeeeat,” she squealed. 

“Thanks. So do you.”

“So how’d you know what kind of wine I like?” she asked as she finished her eye makeup in the mirror. 

“Observant, I guess. I saw a bottle in the trash when I was here yesterday.”

“I’ll keep that in mind. Are you ready?”

He stood moving to open the door for her. “After you.” They made it downstairs as a couple of her neighbors made it home from what he only assumed was church. He couldn’t figure out if the staring was due to her outfit or if it was because she was with him. He looked at her in awe as she strutted with confidence to his car. 

He opened the door for her and she smiled before thanking him. 

He could feel his heart pounding in his chest. She was rattling on and on about the artist performing in the festival and he was secretly praying she wouldn’t ask him a question that required an intelligent answer. She kept touching his biceps and his hand. Her hands were so soft and he was sooo turned on. He hoped that she didn’t notice the bulge in his pants and think that he was a creep. He wondered if she kept touching him because she was nervous too?

“Um, Ri? You good?”

“Yeah, why?”

“You are extremely chatty and you keep touching me.”

“I’m excited. I’ll try to keep my hands to myself, but the way this henley hugs your arms,” she wiggled her eyebrows. 

He let out a low chuckle as he quickly glanced at her for the seventh time.

“Are you ok?” 

“Yeah, never better. Why?” 

“You keep looking at me.”

He grinned keeping his eyes on the road. They were nearing the venue when she glanced at his pants. He immediately assumed that she spotted his retreating erection. 

“What?”

“We’re matching you know. People are going to think we did this purposely.”

“Do you care what others think?”

“No, I suppose not.”

“Good because we’re here.”

They parked and he asked her to stay put for a moment. He got out of the truck and grabbed a blanket and wicker picnic basket. He walked around the truck and opened the door for her and she blushed furiously as she stepped out.

They made their way to a free spot among the crowd. Riley noticed a few glares from both men and women, who obviously had an issue with she and Drake being there together. Then she smiled as one woman gave her a smile, wink and thumbs up as she stood to the side watching while Drake spread the blanket and invited Riley to sit. She knew that some people would have opinions of them being an interracial couple, but Drake didn’t seem bothered. In fact, she thought it showed how courageous he was. When another woman mouthed, “That’s a good look!”

She bit the inside of her cheek trying not to smile. The truth was she didn’t need any validation. She knew Drake was a catch. The fact that he was easy on the eyes was a bonus.

“Uh, a little something my mom helped me with.”

“I am,” she said coyly as she settled between his legs.

They cuddled for a bit before eating, until one of the performers played a rendition of The Gap Band’s, “Outstanding.” She jumped up and pulled Drake with her. He wrapped his arms around her from behind and swayed back and forth with Riley. She felt so comfortable in his arms, he actually had rhythm. There went another stereotype out the window, it just felt right. 

After several acts had gone on and several glasses of wine later Riley settled in his lap as a performer started to play a slower song. “I love Luther,” Riley squealed as she began to sing along.

Drake couldn’t help but hang on to her every word. He wondered if she was trying to send him a message through the lyrics. She had a voice like an angel and when the song ended he was breathless. 

“Ms. Riley sings too?”

She giggled as she rested her head on Drake's shoulder, her back to his strong chest. He fed her  grapes then strawberries with whipped cream soliciting jealous glances from some nearby onlookers. She made sure to let her lips and tongue graze his fingers.  For a few blissful moments, they both silently enjoyed the closeness.

“You know, this is pretty cool,” he whispered in her ear.

She smiled as his breath tickled her ear. Feeling the effects of the wine, she paused for a few moments before she responded.

“What’s that?”

“This. Us. The festival. It all just feels right.”

She wordlessly looked up at him. She wondered if she could will him to kiss her with her “come get it eyes.”  Suddenly, a torrential downpour covered the venue, leaving Drake and Riley scrambling to gather the blanket and basket before sprinting to his Jeep. Before they could get there he stopped snaking his arm around her pulling her close. 

This was it, he was going to do it, it was now or never. If she was the onehe wanted to look back at their first date and tell a romantic tale of their first kiss in the rain. Now was the time. He leaned in and when she opened her eyes her lips found his instantly. It was everything she expected and more. It was hungry and passionate and lustful and it made her lady parts twitch. When he pulled away he watched her for signs of regret, but her eyes said she wanted more. 

“Hurry, get in,” Drake urged her as he took the time to throw the basket and blanket in the back.

They were both soaked. She laughed hysterically when he finally got inside. 

“This entertains you, does it?”

She nodded as she continued laughing, her eyes were clenched tightly. 

He went back in taking her lips again as it continued to storm all around them. Her hands roamed his body and her eyes went wide when she made contact with the bulge in his pants. Another stereotype out the window…Drake cupped the back of her dripping head with his left hand deepening the kiss while his right hand explored the soft skin of her thigh as a soft moan escaped her. Suddenly his phone rang, “Mama’s Song” by Carrie Underwood blasted from his pocket startling Riley. Drake huffed and looked at her with apologetic eyes before answering.

“Mom? What’s up?”

“I’m so sorry for interrupting your date Drizzy.”

Riley smiled.

“Mom, what’s wrong?”

“The power is out and the generator didn’t kick in. I gave Larry the weekend off..”

“I’ll be there as soon as I get Riley home safely. Sit tight.”

“Thanks Driz. How’d it go? Did you kiss her?”

“Mom! She can hear you.”

“Hi, Mrs.Walker.” Riley chimed in.

“Hi, sweetheart. Did he kiss you?”

Riley laughed again. 

“Bye Mom!”

Drake ended the call and turned to Riley, cheeks flushed red.

“I’m sorry.”

“For what?” She asked as he pulled out of the parking lot.

“For the way, tonight is ending. For my Mom.” 

“Nothing could ruin today. Not even your Mom Drizzy,” she laughed again.

‘Geez, Ri that was below the belt.”

His comment made her think about his bulge and she began to blush.

“Are you blushing?”

“Maybe.”

“Why?”

“Oh, it’s too embarrassing to share.”

“Now you know I won’t stop until you tell me.”

When they pull into her neighborhood the entire area is pitch black. Her building was also dark. 

“Good thing I have candles.”

“Or you could go back to the ranch with me,” he said shyly.

“Really? I don’t want to put anyone out.”

“It’s just Mom and I. Liam and Carsyn should be out for the evening. Besides, I promised you dinner and it’s Sunday, I bet my mom cooked.”

“I can’t meet your Mom looking like this. I’ll be ok.”

“Riley, I’m not leaving you alone in the dark.”

“If you want to spend more time with me just say that.”

“Fine, I want to spend more time with you and I’m not leaving you alone in the dark. My Mom would kill me. Pleaaase! I can get you one of Sav’s outfits. I promise it will be an adventure.”

“Okay, I’ll go. But only because you’re so cute when you beg.”

He bit his lip. “You haven’t seen anything yet.”

“Drake Arrington Walker!” she warned.

“Too much?” He smiled.

When they arrived at the ranch, Drake showed Riley to his room and gave her towels and a change of clothes while he went to help with the generator. She quickly showered, pulled her hair up into a messy bun and moisturized with his Nivea lotion that she found on the counter she walked back into his bedroom pulling on the leggings she borrowed. She was still bare from the waist up when the door opened. Her back was turned when she looked over her shoulder to reprimand him.

“Drake!” 

“Riley, it’s me, Liam.”

Riley screamed as she scrambled to cover herself.

“Get out!”

“My mistake. I thought Drake was in here. But this, you are much better.”

“Get. Out.”

“Come on, what’s a little fun between friends?” he asked as he closed the door.

Before she could answer Drake barreled into the room, his fist connected with Liam’s jaw before he tackled him. 

“Have fun with me you bastard, I told you to leave her the fuck alone,” he yelled as Bastien pulled Drake off of Liam. Riley watched the entire scene in horror from the corner.

“Get the fuck out Li!” 

After Bastien escorted Liam back to the guest house, Drake checked on Riley.

“Are you hurt? He didn’t touch you did he?” 

“No, I’m more embarrassed than anything. He walked in without knocking while I was changing.”

“Well, you don’t have to worry about him.”

“What in tarnation is all that racket back here?” Bianca asked as she turned the corner.   

“Just Li being a creep. Everything is fine Mom.”

Riley stood when Bianca entered the room. 

“Riley, this is my Mom, Bianca. Mom, this is my Riley.” 

His eyes went wide as soon as the words left his mouth. He grimaced as Riley extended her hand to his Mom. Bianca pulled Riley into her embrace instead. 

“It’s nice to meet the girl who makes Driz nervous.”

“Mom!”

Riley laughed.

Come on darling, I know y’all were supposed to get dinner. It’s Sunday so I cooked some pot roast, mashed potatoes, carrots, and green beans and for dessert, banana pudding funnel cakes.

“Oh my God, Mrs. Walker, that sounds amazing. Drake, you were holding out on me.”

“Not, really. Maybe I wanted to cook for you first.”

Harries keep saying that holding hands doesn't mean they're dating but.for some reason (be it PR or not) I am 100% sure they are dating. Like hugging her before leaving the set, her defending him on social media and constantly commenting and mentioning him, harry following her back to her trailer, her doing a 'happy dance' when he was casted, potentially living together while filming in Palm Springs and in LA currently, taking her to a very exclusive and private wedding ( i don't think he took her as a friend like some claim, corona still very much exists and it's dangerous) , sharing each others clothes like he did with camille , hanging out with his rich friends, pictures of them arriving at his house and sitting at the balcony and of course the lap sitting.

My take is that they had/have hots for each other and started messing around which evolved into dating and then they decided they could get something out of it (pr) but it backfired because the hadn't expected people to be hostile and not supportive

Either way it's a big mess they should have kept secret

Ok. If you believe this, go ahead. Here is my input on the situation. 

1. Remember when they announced it was gonna be Florance + Harry? How the Harries acted?? They all thought they were gonna end up dating, but then came the other side of the fandom saying no. Why not? Cause she’s been in a long term relationship, and Zach Graff talks about her in his podcast, and she in it too. So... the rumors died down, everyone thought, oh, they are just co-stars and starting to become friends. They were seen hanging out and just getting to know each other. People accepted that, that they were only friends and nothing else. That is the reason why Florance Pugh, who might have been the first girl they thought for the stunt, didn’t become part of this shit. 

2.  The vote shirt. If y’all didn’t know, the Vote shirt, which there are more models of it, it was a way to invite people to vote. Harry Styles wasn’t the only one to get one; so were other artists and celebs. Why? Because they wanted to make people vote, they wanted to invite young adults and newly turned 18s to vote for Biden and kick trump out. You think those posts were coincidental? That they came out of nowhere? No. They were taken with their knowledge, well Harrys, and that's why he wore that shirt. It's super coincidental that no fans saw him with that shirt, but we got those pics right before election day. Super coincidental. So... why was Olivia wearing that shirt? Probably because they gave the whole cast the same shirt as a PR package. So, if they all have the same shirt... and they want to start rumors about H+O, they photograph Harry, and then Olivia photographs herself with the same shirt. But funny how no one connected the dots there, right? That's because it seemed far-fetch of them being together. 

3. The constant media of Harry Styles from her was to plant us the initiative that she has an interest in him and pull people to the movie. If you have an artist with millions and millions of following, he’ll always make a big headline with entertainment media. This will bring free mtking for the movie and people will remember it. Also, she needs the notoriety for the film; you see, she was acclaimed for booksmart and now requires that same energy with this movie. She needs it to be successful. 

4. the trailer and set photos. I find it interesting how they are to high-quality. Pap photos that aren’t staged tend to be so blurry, and for these ones to be so well made and just not bad quality at all, it's obviously staged. Also, she is the director of the movie, and this is H’s first significant role in acting. I would find it weird if H didn’t talk to her, asked for pointers, guidance, etc. Florance and all the others have years in the film industry, and he doesn't. The vid where they are hugging, that one is backgrid too. It looks really staged and him just saying goodbye. It's weird though, how come we only get paps from Backgrid and Digzy, the pap photographer? Two of the main staged paparazzi we have out there. They wanted us to believe that they were together, start speculating, but we never did. They had to shove it in our faces for us to realize. Actually, after this, in December, an article came out where he said he wasn’t in a relationship and didn’t want one. It's so funny how this situation contradicts everything he has said.

5.The wedding was staged too. Some people say it was in Jan, but I found an article that said he was married to Glenne, which was outed on November 25th. Many people have messaged me that they’ve called the Ranch, and it hasn’t been open since November, and then others have said it was in a private estate, which still doesn't make sense cause he let paparazzi in, no one can go in without authorization. So, him holding hand with Olivia, walking slowly, and then running out and leaving her (which those pics were outed and were paparazzi taking them outside the venue) doesn’t make sense. None of the wedding pics or statements make sense. All of them state something different. One article says it's at the ranch, the other private estate, then him saying, ah my girlfriend, while officiating and those people being the sources? None of that makes sense. Y’all really believe that the 16 people there would out Harry?? If he was in a real relationship, nope, they wouldn't.

Why would I bring my s/o around when it's not my house? None of the storylines, the narrative, anything of it makes sense. The photos of them going out are also weird, they are near a restaurant, but restaurants are shut off cause of Covid, from what I’ve heard. Again, the photos of them entering a house, a girl looked into it and found the address. It's a house a lot of people use to stage pap pics.  So... this is my long as answer... second of all, not all Harries believe it's a PR stunt. Most harries are actually shipping them and saying they are dating, trying to prove it. I don’t think that, and if he is genuinely dating her, then he is an asshole, which goes against everything he’s said and done.

Last night I half-asleep reblogged a post about Kid quick drawing his bouquet, which led to the mental image of Kid firing said bouquet to Tetsuma who runs the whole damn wedding asile to catch it. This morning at breakfast my brain was all, "Okay. I know how to write the Panther/Sena soulmate fic like you’ve been talking about doing," and proceeded to dump a whole ass scenario on me like you know I don't have other things to do today besides write fic.

Anyway to clear my mind a bit so I can do said other things, I'm going to write down my general ideas so that I don't forget since I’m not sure when I’m going to have time to write it @____@;.

The fic is set in 2020 or so, which puts the main cast in their mid 30′s give or take

Sena got drafted into the NFL when someone who remembered him passing the recruitment in high school finally tracked him down and was like “I’M RECRUITING FOR SEATTLE NOW JOIN OUR TEAM FFS DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS TO FIND YOU?!”

There’s also a World Football League (WFL) now and a World Bowl where the best teams across the globe come together every summer to duke it out before their pro-seasons kick off where they live (if northern hemisphere) or just after their pro-seasons end (southern hemisphere). It’s held in the last weeks of July with the ultimate champion vs champion World Bowl finale six months before the Super Bowl. 

Anyway, most football players retire in their mid-30′s and Tetsuma and Kid are no exception. They plan to stay in America, get married, and continue running a charity they’ve had for the last few years called Sports Club, which is pretty much a revitalization of the Boys and Girls club.

So their wedding is going to be held on some mega ranch in Wyoming that various teammates helped rent out because they also want to experience an American west ranch wedding too dammit. They’ve invited the whole found famdamily from various players from various high school teams from their youth, their NFL teammates, Tetsuma’s mom is there, Kid’s parents are not there (they think all this American culture was a bad influence), their hgih school coach is going to sit where parents sit though 

So everyone is there, which admittedly makes the fic a bit complicated but if I break it up into pockets maybe it won’t be so bad especially since the focus is Pahtner/Sena not actually the wedding

Most of them are either married, partnered, or in the closet. Some are still single. Monta and Suzuna were the first to get married oddly enough and have a couple of kids who are old enough to appreciate the ranch and horses. Hiruma and Mamori aren’t married but they’ve been living together for like ten or so years. They’ve got a toddler who looks like a mini version of Mamori’s mom and does the softest babiest kekeke laugh, which Sena isn’t sure what to make of yet. Hiruma is totally not retiring from football yet. He’s probably going to still be there in his 40′s if they let him lbr. There are other kids running around too. When I said the whole found famdamily I meant all of them. Getting this venue was definitely a group project, which they all took on because they all wanted to celebrate together too. 

Anyway, onto the soulmate stuff. In this universe, soulmate marks are near-extinct. They appear once you meet your soulmate and their intensity and size indicate how deep your connection is. 

Sena didn’t really notice because he was so busy and tired, but somewhere during the summer the Houston team first came to Japan he gained a mark on his leg  that look like birhtmarked roses (US national flower) descending from his knee to his ankle. The mark is quite prominent and used to get him into trouble at school because it was thought to be related to the yakuza at first. Panther’s mark is a similar presentation on the opposite leg except his flower is a chrysanthemum and is devoid of pigment. Since birthmarks are so rare, everyone thought he developed a strange pattern of vitiligo 

There should be a lot of flashback scenes that flesh out Panther and Sena’s relationship since they’re now kind of teetering on the edge of retiring/starting a new chapter, finally going to be able to be in the same city

Hiruma and Mamori are also soulmates but their marks are like aggressive freckles on their hands. 

Are there other soulmates? I dunno. Still cooking. It might be it’s not so much soulmates are rare but that typically their marks are like the aggressive freckles so nobody really thinks about them being significant. 

Panther and Sena’s marks are so decorative because these two exhibit soulmate-like behavior in series

The fic stays encapsulated to the wedding party weekend (long weekend?) while containing plenty of flashbacks. By the end of the weekend, Panther and Sena will be making moves to end up together something like that

Diakko Week - Day 6 - Adulthood

I also struggled a little with this one.

Enjoy part 6 of the Diakko Week short stories.

Diana and Akko go shopping, then get ice cream.

Diana pulls the car up into the empty parking space and puts it in park. Diana and Akko step out of the car together and lock it before meeting at the front to lock hands together and start walking off into the store. They swing their interlocked hands and brush their shoulders against each other.

 “So, what do we have planned today babe?” Akko asks, looking over at Diana. She smiles bright upon seeing her fiancé practically glowing from the sunshine through her hair. Akko leans over and kisses Diana’s cheek.

Diana smiles and looks over at Akko, bouncing on her toes. “You are just so adorable.” Diana says, making Akko puff out her cheeks and blush lightly. “First we need to do some prep for the wedding. Then we can get ice cream or something.”

 Akko keeps bouncing on her toes, clearly getting a little more excited at the mention of some wedding prep, but when the ice cream is mentioned she bounces really high and giddily squeezes Diana’s hand. “Oh yes, yes, yes! Today is going to be AWESOME!” she exclaims much to Diana’s amusement.

Diana watches with a small shake to her head and a permanent smile on her lips. Akko laughs and softly kisses Diana quickly on the lips before jumping back. Diana quickly pulls back on Akko’s hand and pulls her back for a deeper kiss. 

“I could get some more of this in place of ice cream.” Akko says when her eyes flutter open while staying pressed up close to Diana. Diana smiles back and presses her forehead against Akko’s.

“Why not both?” Akko grins wide at Diana’s response and simply nods, accepting the perfect offer.

“So where first Di?” Akko asks softly, stepping back a bit and brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Diana retakes Akko’s hand and leads her down the road. Akko strides along with with her, having pep in her step.

“First I had us stopping by a venue place to pick some potential locations to check out later, then maybe some clothes shopping.” Diana looks over at Akko who glances back at her. “Sound good to you?”

Akko nods and somehow smiles brighter which makes Diana’s stomach flutter. “Anything with you sounds amazing.” Akko says sweetly, making Diana blush softly, even though Akko’s words were incredibly cheesy. It only made Diana fall more in love with the energetic brunette.

They make it to the store to look through a book with pictures of venues. Diana flips through the pages and browses some appealing locations while Akko walks around curiously, touching just about everything. Diana watches from the corner of her eyes, making sure Akko doesn’t get herself in trouble, almost like she is Akko’s parent not her fiancé. Akko almost knocks a few fake plants over, catching them as they rock and almost crash onto the floor. Each time Akko pales and freezes with the item in her hands, holding her breath like breathing will make her drop it. Diana is unable to resist a small giggle at her fiancé’s antics and adorableness.

 Akko finally comes back to Diana with her hands tucked in her back pockets to resist touching anything else. “Anything look good?” Akko asks, leaning over Diana’s back to look over her shoulder down at the book. 

“Well it would help to get your input. Oh, and no ‘anywhere with you works’ stuff missy.” Akko blushes and hides her face in the back of Diana’s shoulder.

“Fineee. But ‘tis still true.” Diana rolls her eyes, but still smiles.

“Alight, here look.” Diana points to a few pictures of lovely outdoor places, most of which were near meadows or ranches of sorts.”Any of these look good?” Diana asks.

Akko bites her tongue to keep from saying the ‘anywhere with you’ thing. “Hey why don’t we have the wedding at your family castle?”

Diana hums and nods her head. “You would want to do it there? I figured you would want something new. Also, Akko, sweetie, it’s not a castle.”

Akko grins, “You know me, anywhere with you and I’m happy. Also I like it there. I think it would be really pretty. And it is so a castle.” Akko teases. Even though they don’t live there with Diana’s aunt, Akko loves it there. She feels all regal and powerful in the old stone walls. “That way we can have a midevil wedding, with you wearing knight's armor and I can be a princess.” Akko says posing as if she were a damsel in distress.

“Oh dear. You are already a princess. Beautiful and a pain in the ass.” Diana smirks as Akko’s face turns from cheeky to one of indignation. Diana chuckles softly while Akko crosses her arms and pouts, puffing out her cheeks.

“I. Do. Not. Do. That.” Akko states while turning on her heel and crossing her arms more tightly around her chest. Diana slowly walks up behind her, slipping her arms around Akko’s slender waist.

“Oh darling, I am just jesting with you.” Diana gives Akko’s neck a loving kiss which brings Akko from her stupor, making her smile through her frown and angle her head against Diana’s. Diana smiles triumphantly and kisses Akko’s ear once for good measure. “So is it settled? My family’s manor?” Diana asks, teasing Akko a little more. Akko groans and shuffles around in Diana’s arms.

“Yes, it’s settled you butt head.” Akko hugs Diana tightly, which is reciprocated immediately. Akko sighs into the hug and perks up. “Hey, it’s ice cream time!” Diana laughs and tucks her head into Akko’s shoulder while Akko looks at her slightly confused. “What did I do nowww?” Akko asks exasperated.

Diana chuckles and lifts Akko as they hug, her arms holding Akko securely. “Alright let's go get you your ice cream. Then we can shop a little more.” Diana puts her vibrating fiancé down and pulls her by her hand out of the store. Akko leans away from Diana and walks at an angle, anchored down by Diana’s hand with their feet brushing against each other. Diana looks over at her quizzically, but with a great amount of love. “What are you up to?” she asks while Akko sticks out her tongue in concentration and tries to walk on the edge of the curb.

“I’m tight rope walking.” Akko says softly, concentrating hard on not slipping and not pulling Diana on top of her, not that she would mind that, she just didn’t want to pull her on the street. 

They make it to the ice cream shop, Diana holds Akko’s hand tighter as Akko pulls like an excited puppy towards the little shop. “Easy, easy.” Diana says, trying her hardest to keep Akko from flying through the glass door. “Are you sure you didn’t already have some sweets today?”

Akko grins cheekily and turns her head to look at Diana, not letting up on her pulling. “I had you, didn’t I?” Diana flushes and becomes very red, letting Akko finally pull them into the cool shop. Akko bounces back and forth in front of the display, trying to pick her two favorite flavors for her cone. Diana hides her blush and tries to pick something out as well, kind of ignoring the weird look from the shop owner as Akko acts childishly. 

Akko picks chocolate and mint chocolate chip ice cream for her cone while Diana gets a single scoop of plain mint ice cream. Akko licks her cone rapidly, getting some on her cheeks, nose, and chin. Diana watches, covering her face and shaking her head. “Akko. Act like an adult for the love of Beatrix.” She chastises, while also wondering how someone can get so much on their face. 

Akko looks over and laughs nervously, seeing Diana cover her face in embarrassment. “Whoops, eh, sorry babe.” She says softly. She steps closer and half hugs Diana. “Sorry.” She says again, leaning back to watch as Diana’s expression softened. Akko relaxes and slips her fingers between Diana’s and gently tugs her outside to get away from the watching employees. 

“You are such a dork.” Diana sighs with a soft smile. “I guess that is why I love you.” She whispers, leaning in for a soft kiss. Diana’s tongue flicks over Akko’s lips, tasting the ice cream all over her face. Akko blushes and laughs shyly. 

“Geez Diana.” She chuckles a little, while looking Diana up and down. “So hot.” she mumbles to herself while Diana flicks her hair behind her shoulder and looks at Akko lovingly.

“Now let's go shopping. And finish your ice cream before it drips all over your chest and shirt.” Diana takes Akko’s hand once more, “Otherwise I’ll have to lick you clean.” She smirks and begins to walk off, dragging a stunned Akko behind her. 

“DIANAAAAA!!” Akko yelps.

The History of Mountain Meadow Equine Rescue & Rehab

Mountain Meadow Equine Rescue & Rehab Center, while a newcomer to the horse rescue community, comes from a long history of saving animals from neglect and abandonment. It started as the Animal Trust Foundation which was founded May 16, 1973 by Patrica Woodbridge Nelson. Originally named the Animal Trust Sanctuary, the foundation owned a five acre ranch in Ramona, California, where Ms. Nelson established and maintained a rescue center for dogs and cats. Years later the ranch was donated to Fund for Animals, a New York animal rescue of which Cleveland Amory was the head. The Animal Trust Sanctuary changed its name to Animal Trust Foundation (ATF) and continued in the ensuing years to donate funds to many local animal welfare and rescue organizations. It was in November, 2014 that the decision was made to create an offshoot from the Foundation designed to rescue and care for injured and starving horses. Thus Mountain Meadow Equine Rescue came into being.

In these circumstances, often the unfortunate choice is made to euthanize the animal solely because of the unbearable cost placed on the owner. These are our patients.
