“Morgyn has made this *very* clear to me.., from the day he and my mother met...”  “No matter how used to him being an absolute gremlin I get.., strangers being interested in her still makes me shake my head.”  “ At least I don’t have to worry about her... Seeing how proudly she totes around the pelt of the last guy who tried to break her heart...”

Do I need to but this much detail to what’s always covered in clothes? No.
Do I do it anyway bc i’m obsessed with detail? yes.

and holy shit an actually good art day in trying to draw Morgyn, i’ve been blessed

Morgyn and Ramiel, two Scientists that work on a colony together. They’re Kismates and used to have other crewmates on their habitat.

Ramiel Thosit | Log 3 | Cc78
Taking samples from the subject was surprisingly simple, and showed no signs of harming the subject. Every time I would extract a sample, the egg seemed to heal which allowed the others to do different experiments to study the structure of the subject.
The subject is egg in shape with a thick membrane that holds a blue gel-like substance that could be extracted in long strands. The gel lets off a glow much like the rest of what was sampled from c78 and was able to be cut into smaller pieces with ease.
Tests also revealed that it does not react with nonliving and inorganic objects as it stands alone, however is able to pass into anything living or organic without any resistance.
Due to these findings we decided to introduce a sample of the gel to a native species, taking a beetle from outside and placing it in a test chamber with the gel. As witnessed, the sample embedded itself into the beetle and for the next few days we monitored the beetle while offering it food to survive. Unexpectedly, the beetle began to have a small plant grow off its back that resembled the plants we had been feeding it. After some testing, it was clear that the shrub on the beetle’s back genetically resembled those very shrubs, however there were some abnormalities that were noted down, but wouldn’t come to light until some functions expected of the shrub was absent, such as its ability to photosynthesize. More testing was done to determine all the variations between the beetle’s shrub and the one it was fed leaves from.
The next test was based on a hunch made by Morgyn. Taking a plant from the local ecosystems, we introduced a sample of the gel to it before providing the testing chamber with various samples of metals from the planet. At first it seemed that nothing was happening with the plant despite the sample of gel merging within it, however after the plant being accidentally damaged, patches of metals would either repair or replace pieces that were affected. After further testing it was clear this was a recurring event, and that just like the shrub that grew on the beetle, the metals present on the plant were alike the offered samples with some major flaws. While the shrub on the plant was structurally just like that it mimicked but had flaws in function, the metals on the plant were lacking the structural properties that the sampled metals would otherwise have offered. When tested the metals developed by the plant acted more like the plant itself, easily torn and bent without any resistance.
While reporting our findings to the empire the subject had been described as a catalyst of sorts, which lead to the crew to begin to call it Cc78, the C standing for Catalyst and c78 being the sector of which it was found. From here on we will be calling the subject in question Cc78. The following is an image of the source of Cc78.
Tumblr media
From this point we had been testing the samples of Cc78 in isolated chambers with no way to risk danger to those conducting the experiments. This was something we had a growing concern of, as Cc78 was able to affect living organisms. Before we were able to test if those infected with Cc78 were infectious, an accident had occurred.
While taking more samples for future testing, I had failed to realize that one of the protective gloves used to take samples through the isolation chamber had a tear in it, and as I was pulling a sample from Cc78, the string escaped the tweezers and had found its way into that tear and through my skin. I had to be put into isolation in my lab while the others reported to headquarters for further instruction.

It’s been 87 years since we’ve been on this planet, and at least 20 of those have been, for a lack of a better word, unproductive. I’ve yet to sit down and try and figure out the actual timeline of what went down, but when I do I’ll update the blog with that information.
To start off, It’s clear the A.A.I is broken, seeing as I had to push out the introduction post it had made and was able to take over the blog without needing to override the A.I. Ontop of that, It seems like more than just the empire can see it, which honestly, good. So I guess we’ll start with the beginning.
After the 65 year stasis as our ship made its way, our pilot was released and got the ship landed and the base set up before starting the exit phase of our stasis. The first year was getting used to being in control of our bodies again while doing the preliminary scans and tests we had to do before we were cleared to start exploring. Everything was going smoothly and the planet was extremely viable to support life, even more so than Alternia in many cases, including the fact we could be out in the sunlight with some getting used to it.
Eventually we were given the clear to start exploring, and so we did. It was mostly myself and Morgyn since the others were either able to conduct what they needed from the base or were focusing on the closer sectors, while the two of us were itching to get out there and explore. 65 years of stasis will do that to you.
We hadn’t found anything out of the ordinary of our previous findings for a long time. The two of us would note anything we found and categorize whatever it was under which of the five of us would be best suited for the study. However as we neared sector c78, Morgyn and I noted an odd change in the surrounding flora and the lack of fauna in the sector.
Tumblr media
The sector had an ethereal kind of flora to it that would glow in icy blues, and what water existed seemed more opaque and a vivid purple. The two of us took samples and made notes as we explored, bringing back plenty for the others to look into, including an egg-like artifact.
Morgyn and I encased the artifact in a pod and brought it back to the base along with our other samples, where the five of us logged and reported our gathered subjects to the empire before beginning our various studies.
Vrisey quickly learned that the flora we sampled varied far too vastly from the other native plants, and seemed far too out of place to be naturally part of the ecosystems of the planet, which was supported by the various native specimens seeming to be either choked out and replaced, or grown over by the samples of the more alien specimens. The samples taken from the bodies of water in sector c78 also showed to be water sources polluted with a substance with similar genomes as the other samples taken from the sector.
After going through all of the other samples, all that was left to study was the strange egg that was found within sector c78, which was entrusted to me to take samples of.

I suppose an intrroduction in in orrderr.
This is the blog made forr the crrew of Prroject Gemsong, werre a grroup of five scientists and one of the empirre’s pilots was to be sent to a planet to test if it’s suitable forr a futurre colony.
Ourr objectives werre simple: Test the planet and once the planet was given the O.K. we werre to deploy warrp tech to get home and open the gates forr the empirre to lay theirr claim.
Howeverr things changes when we found an arrtifact, a subject which we named Cc78. It’s a long storry and one I should prrobably tell without my quirrk, so once I’ve sorrted out the inforrmation, I’ll be updating this blog to update those who might have access. Most likely empirre eyes only but.., we’ll see I suppose.
