The mouth-watering aroma of freshly brewed chai filled the air as Rakesh greeted his old friend Avinash on the porch of his cozy cottage. “I kept her locked in the cellar for weeks, bombarded her pretty head non-stop with hypnotic suggestions and subliminal conditioning. The drugs made her so susceptible. Day by day I could see her white bitch identity crumbling.”

And when the rains occur , the flow of the stream gets strength and the flow races on with speed , flood like .. the force of the flow is so large and strong that it cuts straight through the meandering body , leaving the looped portion by itself .. thus forming a semicircular water body lake in isolation .. shaped like the bend of the river at the time of the flood .. which is horse shoe shaped , like an oxbow , a cross bow ..

7 Amazing facts about Kullu Dussehra you didn’t Know!

Kullu Dussehra is one of the most beautiful and amazing festival celebrated in Kullu Valley.

History of Kullu Dussehra - It’s the legend of 16th century when Raja Jagat singh used to rule over Kullu kingdom. It is believed that one day he came to know about the peasant in the region who was possessing the riches of pearls. Raja Jagat Singh became greedy and wanted to own the riches of the peasant and thus ordered the poor peasant to either handover the pearls to the king or get hanged but the irony of situation was that the pearl possessed by the Brahmin was the great wisdom and knowledge, Knowing of the consequences peasant threw himself in the fire and cursed the king that “Whenever you will eat, the Rice will appear like worm and water like blood”. To change his fate Raja was told by the brahmin to go and fetch Raghunath deity from Ayodhya and hence Raja Jagat Singh told one of his brahmin to do the desired work. The Brahmin sneaked into the city and was able to steal the deity of Raghunath but was captured by the local people of the Ayodhya. It is believed that when they were carrying the deity towards Ayodhya the weight of the deity increased manifold but when carried towards Kullu it became light. This Raghunath deity is placed in the rath during the Rath yatra on first and last day of Dussehra and this is how Dussehra in Kullu is celebrated. I have written history in facts because many people don’t know about the history of this amazing festival and hence I believe it is an amazing fact to know Kullu Dussehra.

Kullu Dussehra was declared an international event and is witnessed by around 4-5 Lac people from across the globe.

No Burning or ravan - The burning of Ravaan is basically a symbol of Dussehra festival. But the most amazing facts about Dussehra in Kullu is that no Ravaan is burnt during the event of festival celebration. I have visited number of states during Dussehra festival but I have not seen a single state in India where Ravaan is not burnt during Dussehra, But Kullu is  such a state. Dussehra festival is marked with pulling of Rath along the Dhalpur ground.

Fair and Festival - Kullu Dussehra is not only about the Rath Yatra but there is more to explore. Here you can do shopping, eat you favorite snack, Chill out with your friends or family members. The festival is celebrated for nearly 7 days where the four main grounds of Dhalpur are covered with various stalls.

Guinness Book of World Records - Kullu Natti has its name in the Guinness Book of World Records as “The largest Nati dance consists of 9892 participants, achieved by District Administration Kullu, in Himachal Pradesh India on 26 October 2015. The event was headed by DC – Kullu Rakesh Kanwar.The folk dance was dedicated to the theme of the girlchild (beti hai anmol)and the participants would take a pledge to work for the cause.

Indian and international artist perform – Artist like Kailash kher, Jassie Gill etc. performed at kala kendra Kullu in 2018. List of 2019 artist will be disclosed soon.

when i was student of BFA painting at RSA jaipur in that time sir Rajdeep ji exposed to my painting from Rajasthan patrika news paper as a press photographer he coverd to kala mela year 1998/ when i completed my masters in Painting i exhibited my street exhibition subject life in Ramniwas garden in that time sir Rajdeep ji coverd my exhibition or he created a special photo that photo was published in all edition of Rajasthan cities ..from street to house of Rajasthan people my work presented by sir Rakesh Rajdeep ji ,In year 2005-06 i launched to city bhaskar news paper as a press photographer with team of bhaskar in that time i competitor for him or we team of Bhaskar won that competition in two month in Jaipur ..

or yesterday i collect a reward for coordinator of painting exhibition of Amar kala Mahotsav2023 Bikaner from hand of Sir Rakesh Rajdeep ji ..

it was great movement for me ,he also gifted to me his one photograph as a award .so lots of regards for Him from my heart or i Thankful for his love and blessings ..

.. a quiet day of thoughts and verse .. of the multiple decisions to be taken and made .. nightmare for the Libran, who are astrologically challenged by the factor of making or taking decisions .. even ‘Ike’ Eisenhower , a Libran I am told, took quite a while before saying yes to the operations that marked D Day during the 2nd WW ..

we are in delightful and most supreme company .. 

but it needs to be agreed and admitted that management is a supreme art and one that the ‘moi’ has failed often enough for him to take an assist .. and the assist doth come in the form of the format of this great game the boxing of the kick .. which is very well when you watch , but in the ring it is just you and the other .. generally stronger and superior than yourself  ..

it is also well past the hour and the deliberations that have been practised for in the past few days has just flown out of the window .. the need to eat and sleep in time has defaulted tonight .. and for this there is only the ‘moi’ to blame ..

but .. the presence of the Ef in my life has eased the feelings of disappointment, with regard to management .. given the clarion call , several would readily come forward and  assist in the makings of a good manager or the special private assist .. of this I need not even consider .. it would be an honour anda delight to be in their company and see how they contribute to my living .. 

one day some day it shall happen .. 

dramatis personae .. yours truly in the  Sherwood magazine and the contribution from Ef of the winning of the Cup for best actor :

the Kendal Cup, for best Actor , Sherwood 1957 .. for Nikolai Gogol’s ‘Government Inspector’ , where I played the Mayor .. and where Ma and Babuji had come for the Founder’s Week to witness it .. at the shool hall .. Milman Hall .. 

Hollywood made a film of the play calling it Inspector General .. and Danny Kaye, an exceptional talent ,  played the main role .. 

Also then was announced a best actor for the Hindi play , a cup donated by Babuji .. calling it the Bachchan Paatr .. paatr is cup .. in Hindi .. the first of its kind in Sherwood .. the play was the ‘Bishop’s Candlesticks’ ..

Kendal Cup was donated by Geoffrey Kendal, the leader of the theatre group called the Shakespearana .. they played, the bard’s plays all over the country .. he was the Father of Jennifer Kendal , wife to Shashi Kapoor .. 

So much so long ago and so much in remembrance ..
