While there are instances of "use of religion as a weapon" all over the world, the Rajya Sabha MP claimed on Friday that "India is an extreme example of the use of religion." Everything is happening everywhere. Yesterday's events in Leicester were completely intolerable. Everyone knows what happened there. It's now being exported as a result. The police are powerless to take action against those who participate in hate speech in India today because they are supporters of a particular ideology, Sibal continued. The former Cabinet minister was speaking at the "Reflections: In Rhyme and Rhythm" book launch by Rupa Publications. He proceeded by noting that those who engage in hate speech are "emboldened to deliver another statement of the type" when they are not held accountable.
