@xlostparadise asked:
i never want to let you go. not again. -- from eden to raj?
"I love you, and I know I want you in my life forever." Raj told Eden as it wasn't about wanting to let her go, or the fact that he had before. He was all in this time. Raj just hoped that she realized that sometimes things were going to be out of his control. As a doctor his career often took over his life. "We can make things work, we just need to be all in." He added before he locked his lips with hers.

Raj knew that Emmy has a point. There really wasn't anything that was physically stopping them from trying again. He knew that he was happiest with Emmy by his side, but that was also what made him a bit worried. He was scared of losing her again if he was willing to let her back in now.
"Are you willing to open your heart up to that potential pain again?" Raj added as he knew there was no guarantee that they could make it work this time around. After all, it wasn't as though all of the past problems would disappear just because they wanted them to.
It shouldn’t have pleased her as much as it did to hear him verbalizing his care of her. Yet, Emmy felt more ‘looked after’ in his simple reminder to rest than she had in anything anyone else had done for her in the time since their split. She wasn’t sure what that said about her.
It must have been that or maybe it was his very presence that emboldened her. She reached out, the tips of her fingers brushing his wrist before her hand came to rest on his arm. “Raj, what if…” Her words faltered slightly but her fingers flexed on his arm, steeling herself, driving the words. “You seem to miss me. I definitely miss you. What’s stopping us from trying again?”

Thiru S. Sarvesh Raj IPS| Young guns fire up city police force
Chennai: Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras with face recognition technology monitoring the streets, dedicated teams to crack long-pending criminal cases or a friendly DCP (deputy commissioner of police) assuring people about the safety of their neighborhood, policing in the city is getting dynamic with a fresh team of officers at the helm. Blending technology with interpersonal skills, the youngest-ever batch of six IPS officers are emerging as a promising bunch for the Chennai City Police.
A case in point is the significant dip in chain snatchings and thefts in T Nagar this Diwali. “Earlier, at least 40 to 50 cases of snatching were reported during Diwali season, but it has reduced considerably this year,” said a police officer, attributing the decline to better policing because of CCTV cameras with face recognition technology. “Using technology has helped us reduce the burden on the police. Digitising records has also aided in utilizing manpower efficiently,” says C Aravindhan, a computer science graduate, who introduced the idea of the CCTV technology.
At the other end of the city, C Kalaiselvan plans to have CCTV cameras in the whole of Madhavaram police district. “There are four arterial roads and many link roads. If we install CCTV cameras across these roads, no one can escape from the police purview after committing a crime,” says the 34-year-old postgraduate in agriculture. He believes that technology is a handy tool for the police.
Breaking the image of the authoritative cop, the young crop is ensuring that it is more accessible to the citizens and open to discussions regarding issues in the neighborhoods concerned. DCP Adyar Rohith Nathan believes in personal interactions and tries to meet people under his jurisdiction whenever possible. “Adyar is a cosmopolitan area, so interaction with residents will help to create a sense of a safe community,” says the 28-year- old mechanical engineer from Anna University.
His cousin S Sarvesh Raj, DCP of Ambattur, is also a mechanical engineer. Interested in crime detection, Sarvesh solved the 2013 Mangadu murder case where a woman was found killed in her house. The case had remained unsolved for the past four years. Meticulous planning is his strength but compassion his stimulus. “I want to create an environment where everyone is safe and happy,” said S. Sarvesh Raj, who was the assistant superintendent of police (ASP) in Dindigul.
The officers compete and brainstorm with each other to resolve issues. The eldest in the batch, Pravesh Kumar, believes in team work. A postgraduate in mechanical engineering from IIT Delhi, SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat) analysis is his mantra. “When I was the superintendent of police in Namakkal, I deployed a dedicated team to solve a triple murder case,” he said. Using dedicated teams has helped in reducing crime in his jurisdiction and is serving as a model for others.
Handling sensitive areas like Washermenpet and Kasimedu, known for rowdies and brawls among fisherfolk, IPS officer Sashank Sai falls back on his experience as ASP. “As an ASP in Tenkasi and Nagapattinam I have handled many criminals and dealt with issues relating to fishermen. Those areas have moulded me and helped me to handle fisherfolk in Kasimedu and rowdies in Washermenpet,” said Sashank, who studied mechanical engineering at the Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Hyderabad, before joining the uniformed services.
Getting young guns was a strategy, says city police commissioner A K Viswanathan, who assumed charge in May amid the political turmoil in the state. “The youngsters are living up to new challenges and their novel problem solving ideas using technology is showing the way for the rest of the state,” he said.

"I am all for machines that save lives. The problem is, we can't rely completely on machines to do the jobs of doctors. There are too many things that might go wrong and a machine can't be trusted to always make the right choices. We need someone who is able to look at things both logically but also with compassion. That's where the machines lack." Raj replied as there needed to be a certain sense of humanity when it came to things.
"The best bet is probably to talk to Samantha in scheduling. She is the one that can ensure I can actually get time off without it causing mass chaos." Raj said, although he was sure nobody would object to him taking a break. People often told him that he was working himself too hard. A break would be a well deserved change from his usual reality. "I have faith that it will all work out the way that it is supposed to."
"That has to be a bit scary and exciting as a doctor though, right? All the new machines to help you save lives, but do you think that makes people sort of a master of none? Do you think this younger generation that's more into gaming and tech will move into the medical field and surgery or that it's going to continue to negatively impact the profession like education and law?" Pem had clearly been thinking on this a lot, she realized as she caught herself asking Raj a half-dozen questions.
"Okay! Great. I'll have Violetta look into it for us. Is there someone at the hospital she can talk to to help us make plans?" Her one and only employee had graciously taken on planning out her schedule so that every order had time to be made and possibly re-made, throw and sip sessions were also new and on the calendar, and that there was still time for her to make the products people walking through town popped in to buy. While they both had busy schedules, it was his that was less flexible. "We'll figure it out, Aşkım."

"I spend more time on social media than I should." Raj admitted as he often found himself checking his phone during his breaks at work. It was a way to numb his mind from reality for a while.
"That makes sense. Everyone loves a story with some history to it." He said, but Raj couldn't be completely sure. They were out of his element with this conversation.
"I think it is important to know a bit of everything." Raj replied as he felt that no culture was more important than another. It was important for him to be rounded.
"Oh of course, I imagine they adore them. I'm not particularly good with the internet and social media stuff. I prefer paper books and the like. I think I do have some somewhere."
"Well Nessie is fascinating because of the pictures and the history and the possibilities. I love that people feel so passionate about it that they've gone diving in the Loch to try and find them."
"Oh, by Bill Bryson. It is a very good book. Do you have a particular culture you're drawn too or do you just like exploring everything?" Maria asked.
