Dune will be released on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on August 31 via Arrow Video. Daniel Taylor designed the new artwork; the original poster is on the reverse side. A 4K UHD Steelbook with the original key art will also be available.

The 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert's 1965 science fiction novel is written and directed by David Lynch (Twin Peaks, Mulholland Dr.). Kyle MacLachlan stars with Patrick Stewart, Brad Dourif, Dean Stockwell, Virginia Madsen, José Ferrer, Sting, Linda Hunt, and Max von Sydow.

Both 4K UHD and Blu-ray limited edition sets include a bonus Blu-ray disc loaded with extras, along with a 60-page book featuring writing in the film by Andrew Nette, Christian McCrea, and Charlie Brigden, and more, a double-sided poster, six mini lobby card reproductions, and a slipcase.

Dune has been newly restored in 4K from the original camera negative with original uncompressed stereo audio and DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround audio. Special features are listed below, where you can also get a look at the contents.

CONAN LE BARBARE

Dans le style de Cimmeria.

Au debut des annees 1980, John Milius et Dino de Laurentiis se sont associes pour porter au grand ecran les aventures inimitables de Conan, un personnage cree en 1932 par le tourmente Robert E. Howard - le garcon s'est suicide dans la noix de coco avec seulement trente ans -, qui dans les annees 60 est passe des romans aux bandes dessinees aux mains de l'editeur Marvel, devenant le barbare le plus celebre du monde. Milius, un artisan du cinema au talent irrefutable (malgre l'irregularite de sa carriere), a apporte sa vision de l'epopee a la production, elevant le film aux autels du meilleur cinema d'aventure fantastique. Apres sa premiere, " Conan le Barbare«C'est devenu un film culte pour d'innombrables followers et aujourd'hui c'est une reference dans le genre epee et sorcellerie, il pourrait meme etre considere comme le titre le plus emblematique de cette section.

Apres avoir remporte l'Oscar pour " Le Midnight ExpressOliver Stone a rejoint le projet en tant que scenariste. Connaissant a peine le personnage, ni le materiau de reference, Stone a evoque la possibilite de definir l'action a l'avenir, ou Conan ferait face a des zombies mutants. Ces premieres occurrences n'ont pas ete prises en consideration - ne me demandez pas pourquoi - et Milius a fini par picorer a partir d'une poignee de sources. Sans aller plus loin, la sequence de la Tour du Serpent decoule des histoires "Voleurs a la maison" et "La tour de l'elephant", Valeria (la blonde aux bras prise par Sandahl Bergman) apparait dans "Ongles Rouges" et le mechant de Plot Thulsa Doom (go-mane James Earl Jones) saute d'une autre piece de Howard, "Le roi Kull d'Atlantis." Le meli-melo qui en resulte est une aventure aussi puissante qu'une epee d'acier cimmerienne.

Mais la plus grande vertu de cette pseudo-epopee medievale est peut-etre son indiscutable protagoniste, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Etant pratiquement inconnu au cours de ces annees, meme apres etre apparu dans le tristement celebre " Hercules a New York, " il a fallu attendre son apparition dans " Fer a repasser, " un documentaire de musculation, que l'Autrichien muscle a attire l'attention du producteur Edward Pressman. Physiquement spectaculaire, Schwarzenegger est devenu celebre avec un role sur commande inimitable. Quelques annees plus tard, avec le succes de « Terminator », Il consoliderait sa carriere de morceau hollywoodien, en concurrence directe avec Sylvester Stallone.

Un spectacle divertissant avec une intrigue plus qu'interessante, developpe efficacement et avec beaucoup de rythme - chaque nouvelle scene est une toute nouvelle accumulation d'emotions -, le film de Milius se demarque surtout par ses scenes d'action voyantes, qui suintent austeres et violence cruelle, capable de remplir le recit d'adrenaline et de sang. Force, acier, muscle et sueur, sorts et fantaisie, avec l'accompagnement magnifique et tonitruant de la bande originale epique composee par Basil Poledouris, une partition qui ameliore encore les qualites d'une ?uvre essentielle.

• Le pire: Qu'est-ce qui est venu ensuite.

 Le saviez-vous…?  Les lieux de tournage du film sont tournes en Espagne. La ville qui apparait au debut de l'aventure a ete construite sur le versant nord de la Puerto de Navacerrada, a Madrid. Jorge Sanz joue Conan enfant et Nadiuska joue la mere du barbare. Le film regorge de dialogues memorables; pour montrer l'un des plus memorables: "Conan, quelle est la meilleure chose dans la vie?" A quoi le cimmerio repond: "Ecrasez les ennemis, voyez-les detruits et ecoutez les lamentations de leurs femmes."
