in absence of a reunion noel interview i'm going back to revisit the great gallagher thaw of late 2014/early 2015 to try to make some sense outta these strange reunion times we are in now.
i've been really curious about this time period for awhile and stockpiling posts with the intention of assembling them in some kind of chronological order. still not quite sure what i'm looking at but it's a bit like find the edge pieces of a puzzle and snapping them together for a frame. you can get a vague idea while understanding much of the pieces are missing to complete the picture. most notably noel is giving interviews at this time while liam is mostly out of the public eye entirely.
assembled them in the queue and looking at them in order now and getting a bit choked up by what we have. even factoring in the normal album press cycle, noel's interviews have noticeable outlier moments during this time. charting his uncharacteristically relaxed calm fondness to emotionally raw moments when mentioning liam, it does look like any attempt at a truce all goes south within a months time (mid february to mid march 2015). coincidence it’s when dead in the water is written and the chasing yesterday is released? of course it’s not lost on me it also is at a period of nostalgia with the 20th anniversaries of their first two albums and part of the buzz about a reunion driven by stone roses reunion. but in the course of the entire feud it sticks out as different. and suggests noel was more invested in a reconciliation than he’d ever be willing to admit.
queuing them up now. when they're done posting i'll link them to the chronological list below to access them easily.

Hozier's interviews, radio & podcast & tv, April 2023
April 4, RTE 2FM, Blathnaid Treacy (??) hosts
youtube
“I’m just lucky I guess, I don’t do anything with my hair, I don’t wash it that often.”
April 5, RTE, Ray D’Arcy hosts
“That’s something you miss being a new artist, no one knew me, there was no pressure. TMTC just exploded. There was no consideration of, how will this sound on radio, we never even thought about it.”
“I’ve gained a better relationship with social media. You can look at 100 good comments but only remember the one that says “I don’t like this,” that’s the human brain for you. If you’re coming away miserable, do the work on yourself or don’t engage.”
April 6, Go Loud Now Recorded History, Ed Smith hosts
[discusses Hozier’s favorite albums to listen to, not EYY]
“Chet Baker Sings. It became a favorite for me when I was hungover. When you wake up and there’s just a bunch of bodies around the house and you’re like, I’ve got to clean the kitchen. It’s jazz that requires nothing from you.”
April 10, Sirius XM
[This bit has Hozier recommending songs based on fan’s questions, and does not discuss EYY.]
youtube
“Is there a Mr. Creeping Jenny?”
April 13, Today FM, Dermot & Dave host
"I'm happy with the work, there will be 12-13 songs on the album people haven't heard.”
“Irish people have a strong nose for bullshit."
April 14, RTE One Late Late Show, Ryan Tubridy hosts
youtube
“Political is the story of who we are and our experience of living. A song about going out Saturday night with your friends has loads of political dimensions. It’s whether you choose to engage with those dimensions and think over it, we don’t need to do that all the time.”
April 20, NYC Q104.3's Out of the Box, Jonathan Clarke hosts
youtube
“Direction is the word, [Unreal Unearth] is not tied to the literature, it’s important that the songs just be the songs.”
April 20, NPO Radio 2, Jan-Willem Roodbeen hosts
[includes live performance of EYY]
youtube
“New album out in August, 16 tracks.”
April 20, NPO 3FM, Luc Sarneel hosts

"It always rains in Ireland, it's a wonder it doesn't sink."
"Eat Your Young is for all the powerful boomers."
April 26, EGO FM Metropol, Max Klement hosts
"He goes up in flames when he enters a church, and sees the future sometimes."
"I think the writing is the relief from the anger and depression."

AMPLITUDE MODULATION DSB-FC
Amplitude modulation (AM) is a modulation technique used in electronic communication, most commonly for transmitting messages with a radio wave. In amplitude modulation, the amplitude (signal strength) of the wave is varied in proportion to that of the message signal, such as an audio signal. This technique contrasts with angle modulation, in which either the frequency of the carrier wave is varied, as in frequency modulation, or its phase, as in phase modulation.
AM was the earliest modulation method used for transmitting audio in radio broadcasting. It was developed during the first quarter of the 20th century beginning with Roberto Landell de Moura and Reginald Fessenden's radiotelephone experiments in 1900.
In the process of Amplitude Modulation, the modulated wave consists of the carrier wave and two sidebands. The modulated wave has the information only in the sidebands. Sideband is nothing but a band of frequencies, containing power, which are the lower and higher frequencies of the carrier frequency.
The transmission of a signal, which contains a carrier along with two sidebands can be termed as Double Sideband Full Carrier system or simply DSBFC. It is plotted as shown in the following figure.
However, such a transmission is inefficient. Because, two-thirds of the power is being wasted in the carrier, which carries no information.
If this carrier is suppressed and the saved power is distributed to the two sidebands, then such a process is called as Double Sideband Suppressed Carrier system or simply DSBSC. It is plotted as shown in the following figure.
.
Mathematical Expressions
Let us consider the same mathematical expressions for modulating and carrier signals as we have considered in the earlier chapters.
i.e., Modulating signal
m(t)=Amcos(2πfmt)m(t)=Amcos⁡(2πfmt)
Carrier signal
c(t)=Accos(2πfct)c(t)=Accos⁡(2πfct)
Mathematically, we can represent the equation of DSBSC wave as the product of modulating and carrier signals.
s(t)=m(t)c(t)s(t)=m(t)c(t)
⇒s(t)=AmAccos(2πfmt)cos(2πfct)⇒s(t)=AmAccos⁡(2πfmt)cos⁡(2πfct)
Bandwidth of DSBSC Wave
We know the formula for bandwidth (BW) is
BW=fmax−fminBW=fmax−fmin
Consider the equation of DSBSC modulated wave.
s(t)=AmAccos(2πfmt)cos(2πfct)s(t)=AmAccos⁡(2πfmt)cos⁡(2πfct)
⇒s(t)=AmAc2cos[2π(fc+fm)t]+AmAc2cos[2π(fc−fm)t]⇒s(t)=AmAc2cos⁡[2π(fc+fm)t]+AmAc2cos⁡[2π(fc−fm)t]
The DSBSC modulated wave has only two frequencies. So, the maximum and minimum frequencies are fc+fmfc+fm and fc−fmfc−fm respectively.
i.e.,
fmax=fc+fmfmax=fc+fm and fmin=fc−fmfmin=fc−fm
Substitute, fmaxfmax and fminfmin values in the bandwidth formula.
BW=fc+fm−(fc−fm)BW=fc+fm−(fc−fm)
⇒BW=2fm⇒BW=2fm
Thus, the bandwidth of DSBSC wave is same as that of AM wave and it is equal to twice the frequency of the modulating signal.
Power Calculations of DSBSC Wave
Consider the following equation of DSBSC modulated wave.
s(t)=AmAc2cos[2π(fc+fm)t]+AmAc2cos[2π(fc−fm)t]s(t)=AmAc2cos⁡[2π(fc+fm)t]+AmAc2cos⁡[2π(fc−fm)t]
Power of DSBSC wave is equal to the sum of powers of upper sideband and lower sideband frequency components.
Pt=PUSB+PLSBPt=PUSB+PLSB
We know the standard formula for power of cos signal is
P=vrms2R=(vm2–√)2RP=vrms2R=(vm2)2R
First, let us find the powers of upper sideband and lower sideband one by one.
Upper sideband power
PUSB=(AmAc/22–√)2R=Am2Ac28RPUSB=(AmAc/22)2R=Am2Ac28R
Similarly, we will get the lower sideband power same as that of upper sideband power.
PUSB=Am2Ac28RPUSB=Am2Ac28R
Now, let us add these two sideband powers in order to get the power of DSBSC wave.
Pt=Am2Ac28R+Am2Ac28RPt=Am2Ac28R+Am2Ac28R
Therefore, the power required for transmitting DSBSC wave is equal to the power of both the sidebands.

music ask meme!
16. tell us the name of a song that most people probably don’t know but you absolutely adore: i'm about to rock your world and introduce you to the REAL crown jewel of irish music, the one and only CMAT. her latest album crazymad, for me is wall to wall bangerama but i can't stop spinning have fun! especially because she shouts out how fucking impossible it is to afford rent in dublin!!!! FUCK!
23. how did you discover your favorite artist? i'm the bollocks that does have a different favourite every day depending on the mood but to pick one that like fundamentally redirected my music taste, i first heard seven nation army by the white stripes on my wee boombox radio when i was eight (a whole TWENTY ONE YEARS AGO) and said what the fuck is THAT and listened like a hawk for the next time it came on so i could record it onto a cassette tape. and then once i got my first mobile phone i kept texting into the same dj (jenny huston on 2fm i believe? but it could have also been rick o'shea) asking them to play more white stripes because i couldn't find any of their CDs anywhere (shoutout small town ireland) and wasn't allowed to be on the internet yet! fuckin maaaaaad. i think i heard hardest button to button next and actually blew a gasket

‎Eiza Murphy Returns With Her Next Single ‘Haunted’Eiza Murphy is an Irish singer, songwriter, and producer who now resides in Los Angeles. She was born in Ireland. Eiza relocated to New York when she was fifteen years old in order to learn Logic Pro music production at Dubspot School of Electronic Music. She was the only female student in a class of twenty male students and was the youngest student in the school by 15 years. [embed]https://soundcloud.com/elizabeth-murphy-17/taxi[/embed] Since then, her debut tracks have been used in the series 'Riverdale’ on Netflix, have ranked at #1 on iTunes Ireland twice, and have been featured as 'Track of the Week’ on BBC Radio 1 and RTE 2FM, respectively. Eiza has established herself as a unique talent despite the fact that she has only five releases to her name at this point in her career. She possesses that kind of elusive and captivating quality that pulls you in to lose yourself within her tracks on multiple occasions, despite the fact that she is still in the formative years of her career. Eiza Murphy has been hard at work over the last several months putting the finishing touches on her first EP and writing songs for other artists, including Kenzie Ziegler’s most recent hit “100 Degrees.” Eiza Murphy is back with her new single after releasing the song “Haunted” early on Tiktok, where it quickly racked up more than 19.5 million views. The song “Haunted,” which Eiza wrote and produced, is about having feelings for a person who is also in love with another person. Irish Radio Online - Ireland Stations FM & AM + (Radio Android Application 🇮🇪📻)
 Sure, here's an article for all radio stations in Ireland:
Radio has been a staple of Irish culture since the early 20th century, and today it continues to thrive with a diverse array of stations catering to a wide variety of tastes and interests. From music to news, sport to culture, there's something for everyone on the Irish airwaves.
One of the most popular stations in the country is RTÉ Radio 1, which offers a mix of news, current affairs, and cultural programming. It's also home to some of Ireland's most well-known broadcasters, including Morning Ireland's Bryan Dobson and the legendary Marian Finucane, who sadly passed away in 2020. Other RTÉ stations include RTÉ 2fm, which focuses on popular music, and RTÉ lyric fm, which specializes in classical and contemporary art music.
For those who prefer a more commercial sound, there are plenty of options as well. Today FM is one of the most popular stations in the country, offering a mix of music and talk shows aimed at a young, urban audience. Spin 1038 and Spin South West also cater to a younger crowd, with a focus on pop and dance music.
Classic rock fans will find plenty to enjoy on stations like Radio Nova and FM104, while those who prefer a more traditional sound can tune into stations like Clare FM and Midwest Radio, which serve rural communities across the country. Sports fans have plenty of options as well, with stations like Off the Ball and Newstalk 106-108 FM offering in-depth coverage of local and international sports.
Finally, there are a number of community radio stations across Ireland that serve specific regions and interests. Dublin City FM, for example, offers a mix of music and news aimed at the capital city, while stations like Raidió Fáilte and Raidió na Life serve Irish-language communities in Belfast and Dublin, respectively.
In conclusion, Irish radio offers a diverse range of programming that caters to all tastes and interests. Whether you're a fan of current affairs, pop music, or sports, there's a station out there for you. So tune in and discover the best of what Irish radio has to offer.

#Repost @davefanning ・・・ Very shortly, I’ll be launching the Fanning podcast on RTÉ Radio Player (and wherever else you get your stuff) and presenting a new music show on RTÉ Gold. And with programmes like Fanning at Whelan's on the telly and a bunch of new series on Gold (ranging from the 10-hour Fanning’s Fabbest 50s to other 10-parters like Irish Music: 60s-2000s), I’ll be turning up on 2FM on Bank Holidays starting with this coming St. Patrick’s Day Friday with a U2 special to celebrate the launch that day of the band’s new 40-year retrospective album. So, I’m gonna split the scene for a while. I’ve been thinkin’ ‘bout this for the past few years and have decided to step back from my weekend show on 2FM to spread the word of Fanning on the digital empire. A busy year ahead; see you along the way. https://www.instagram.com/p/Co-hMq7onQr/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
