For the peoples saying that nobody asked for the upcoming Global Horse Store, may I propose a concept for consideration?

Non-Star Rider is a category of players that exists.

Non-SRs can only reach Moorland, Fort Pinta, the zonies at the circus, the pony championship, and most events that have portals in one of those areas.

They used to have access to Ferdinand's Horse Market, full of ancient models that are relatively affordable, but they have been deprived of that for quite a while now. Non-SRs have to wait for the bazaar to have a similar, if slightly more expensive, setup.

Those who can't buy lifetime, or even a monthly subscription, also have to depend on the rare SC codes SSO gives out. So they may pull together enough SC to get one horse after 2-3 years, if they're extremely frugal.

Having a global horse store that will have every horse, hopefully including Ferdinand's, is a dream for a non-SR. They'll finally be able to get a breed they want and in the color they want.

Certain breeds/coats may still be locked by player level/rep, just like the tack and clothes in the current global store, but at least non-SRs will get some of what they once had either way. _

No, having a global horse store will not discourage exploration all that much, if at all. SSO and players alike already forget that Dino, Mistfall, Redwood, and Wildwoods exist. Players who don't like the GHS can do the same thing as players who complain about Instagram comments they don't want to see: Practice self-discipline and not click the button that would reveal it.

And no, it will not screw up reputation-building because older/less popular models already get moved to higher-level areas like Epona. SSO nullified the logic of it themselves. _

TL;DR please think a little bit less about "nobody asked for it" and a little more about "what kind of players might benefit from it." I hear being inclusive is a good thing to do.

it's not mendatory when one is living on top of the iterators/striving towards the religion and some May choose to rather wrap their hands up, but it is pretty common to cut the fingers off up there. some would rather do That to visually signal how good religious followers they are than actually work on themselves thru worship and other religion stuff. it's like a performance for everyone else, almost

the hands stuff in the oc lore is: • five fingered - the base for "higher" beings (aka sapient creatures capable of worship stationed on the planet) • three/four fingered - animalistic/way below the worshipping sapient creatures • fingerless hands - dedication to the religion in the form of renouncing using/taking anything the world has to offer. separation from the physical world is the whole theme of the Sins so goin as far as putting the body thru smth like that fits in real well

they sometimes take off the whole upper part of the hand (so half palm gone) or even the whole thing goes off. also thinkin that maybe the predecessor to this was just cutting the tendons that make the fingies move

ok disclaimer we haven't actually read the story or anything (we don't read them until they come out on en) but honestly the new vbs arc makes sense to us? like even though their goal from the beginning has been to surpass RAD WEEKEND, it's also almost been to surpass RADder, if that makes sense. and then with the knowledge of nagi's death they know now why RADder never made it the way they wanted to. so it makes sense that their goal would shift from simply surpassing RAD WEEKEND to being "on top of the world" like RADder had once dreamed. namely carrying on nagi's legacy.

A Letter for The First Lost

A drabble about Wings Unflown. Iterator oc

Flooding, flooding with data. A dam barely restraining the overflow of code, information, and music. There is no room for thought or diverted focus, and that is how Wings wants it.

Music blasts in her chamber like a siren and fills her thoughts with intense guitar and orchestral ensembles. Neuron flies dance around her body in time with the rhythm, swarming in and out of her chamber in waves of powerful information. They fly through screens that surround her in words and footage and pearls. Perhaps this could be considered overstimulating, especially to one with lesser capacity than she. Yet here she is. Working. Thriving

Distracting herself...

No matter how hard she tries to bury, archive, and file away the data, she still cannot get all reminders out of her head. Ending's schematics, their core purpose, chatlogs upon chatlogs upon *mems* of them that she stripped and saved and buried. Their music playlist, once at the top of the SOLA playlist files, is now buried beneath every other playlist she has made. Not one song is allowed to be played. They've been erradicated from every other location. She just cannot risk accidentally happening upon a song on her radio that they loved. It hurts.. It reminds her that they can’t listen anymore..

Of course!! She's not thinking about that!! She is thinking so so very much, but it's about everything except what she actually needs to think about!! She gets a lifetime of work finished in mere minutes, she floods her feed with layers upon layers of content, she has three entire brains overflowing with information, and none of them are focusing on the issue at hand. Imagine that! Because she isn't!!

Or... maybe she is. Maybe.. maybe there is a simulation deep in her processes. One that is constantly being adjusted for accuracy. One that will forever be outdated because she never knew how they acted outside of their can.

Still.. still it plays. Over and over again. It is a simulation of a hypothetical visit. Wings in her chamber, hovering close to the floor, and right across from her is Ending. It's not real. It never will be. But she couldn't help herself. Every word she makes them say cuts a wound in her chest.

“I missed you, Wings.” They say every time. But it's not real

“{I'm so sorry I couldn't reach you.}” She replies in turn. ”[My towers reach everyone but I couldn't reach you.] |I'm so, so sorry..|“

”It's okay, it's not your fault.“ Every single time they say that, it doesn't feel right

”Of course it is!!” She wails. “{You were GONE!!} [I could've tried harder to find you, to search for you, to connect somehow but ] |But I didn't!! I never did!!|”

She never understands why they don't reply. In every simulation of this same scenario, even after so many adjustments for accuracy, they would never reply. They would only stand and stare at her with quiet, sad eyes. Perhaps it's because she's right. Perhaps it's because it truly is her fault.

She can't... handle it anymore. Simulation 3,440,509 of this same conversation, and it finally breaks her. She crumples to her knees on the floor of her chamber. She buries her face in her hands and every mind wails. It bleeds through the simulation and stains her towers. Each structure groans and cries for the sibling she failed to find. Electricity boils into the sky and consumes the air and the ground. In mere seconds, it is all she can think about. And it hurts

...

Something shifts in the simulation, startling her into silence. This is something new. Her focus returns to it just as Ending's face appears in front of her. They're suddenly so close. She flinches back, expecting him to strike her. To yell at her. Something.

But instead, all they do is extend their hand to her. Red fingers.. She stares at them. It's only a simulation, but still the idea of contact keeps her frozen in place. She doesn't... like being touched. It makes her chest tighten and her hands shake and her minds scramble like frightened moths. It's not something she wishes would happen to her without warning and careful coaxing.

Ending wouldn't know, so neither does this Ending. Wouldn't that mean they would touch her outright? But they don't. They're only holding out their hand

...

Slowly, she breaches the gap and takes their hand. It's a delicate touch. It's barely even there. Yet it's enough comfort. It's a silent “I forgive you.”

And despite knowing this will never be real, it still... feels right.

When she opens her eyes in her chamber, there is no one there but her.

Why do people think rw/by isn’t profitable so they need a reboot? If it truly wasn’t profitable the way it was then why would viz pick it up wouldn’t they just leave the ip to rot?

sunk cost - these are people who have wasted up to eleven years of their lives hating on this show in spite of its continued survival and popularity (which is another thing they're in denial about, that the show is popular and has a dedicated global fanbase. these people need to believe that the only people who watch RWBY are people who share their opinions and only do so to make fun of it); so they're clinging to farcical ideas like "RWBY only has one more season and then Viz are gonna reboot it so it'll be good", "Viz is gonna scrap the main show and just continue Ice Queendom because that's more their brand" or flat out "they're gonna cancel Volume 10 and reboot the whole show so it'll be good" because they need to live in that delusion that the show doesn't have a large following invested in seeing it through to the end, and ignoring the enormous fallacy that is purchasing the rights to a show that's nine volumes in to its story only to scrap the whole thing before it's finished (not to mention Kerry's still involved which - even precluding that means a reboot won't happen - means the things they hate about the show wouldn't go away)

and not only that, under Viz, RWBY is likely to be even more popular and profitable once it picks up again, because Viz is bigger than RT so there's gonna be less issues in accessibility (getting the show out to bigger audiences), greater merchandising opportunities (merch was something that RT always struggled with) and more funding for the show itself (so more money to go into refining the animation, more animators on the project, fleshing the story out because they've got more runtime to work with), stuff to appeal to the already existing audience as well as draw in new crowds with easier access to the content

Earth knows Cybertron is a a graveyard and the politician is more uncomfortable at the racial attitude to organics prevalent amongst Cybertronians. Especially when learning it seems like an there are ab awful lot of non organic or non humanoid life out there

And the sheer scale and scope of the war is..well swallowing Earth up as autonomous thing.

Doesn't the game canon actually acknowledge the iterators' personhood to some degree? The one pearl about political discourse in Metropolis, "parental obligations," and recognizing the iterator has likes and dislikes. Like sure theyre slaves but I dont think objects is how the Ancients really saw them.

not to be like. mean or anything. but i do keep stating that i am very much not aiming to stick to canon with this stuff. i am refering to my things as the Serotonin Take for a reason. i do with this what makes Me happy no matter how much it goes against the finer details of canon

but if i gotta bullshit an explanation, here:

1. the teacher is biased towards this conclusion because of his personal experiences and opinions. just like some iterators may see themselves as personhood-less and more machine-like, some Ancients are going to see them as weird objects. this ideology, even if possibly not accepted in the whole society, might be seen as beneficial for a certain field 2. it's a result of Boreas' attitude towards just about everything. Boreas is both the one who carries the capital city of the Eo group and the iterator all the students familiarize with first. looking after his systems and dealing with him as they would with their ultimately assigned iterator is a final test for the Mechanics. the idea that Boreas' grumpy very callous-like self is all the teacher knows isn't such a far fetched idea because of his importance 3. different continent, strikingly different history, strikingly different opinions

i originally went out of my way to establish the Eo group on a completely different continent Specifically so i could have a free reign on the local opinions, ideas, politics- just about everything except the Global Religion and the status quo of higher and lower circles in the Ancients' society- once again- for the sake of my enjoyment derived from worldbuilding without having to constantly lose my shit over possibly not conforming to canon

My ideal version of a Rain Meadow (RW online multiplayer mod in development) server:

Server is persistent and tracks reputation (global, local and individual), lineaging and key items. You wanted the Drainage System pearl but someone else took it first and then logged off? Better look for every corner of the map for it. Your friend tamed a lizard but it hates you? You're gonna have to befriend it quick. A carnivore slugcat overhunted and now Farm Arrays is crawling with red centipedes? Too bad.

New players spawn in a random shelter as a slugpup, and grow up after a number of cycles. There's no notification when a player joins or leaves a server, you'll just have to hope that a fellow slugcat finds you before a predator does and that they'll be willing to take care of you until you can pull your own weight. NPC pups will not spawn regardless of the campaign the server is set in to avoid confusion.

Cycles progress regardless of player deaths, if all players die you can force skip to the next. (I think Rain Meadow's story mode already has this?)

No text or voice chat whatsoever. To communicate you must rely on movement, pointing and whatever signs the players come up with.

No names either, players pick a symbol to be represented by. Add made up ones if there's not enough to go around, multiple players can pick the same one and Karma 10 symbol would be the only one off-limits. You would only be able to see another slugcat's symbol after you shelter with them once. Alternate idea: you asign a symbol to the other slugcat yourself. Alternate alternate idea: the symbol you have as a name is based on passages unlocked or what you do the most, you'd be able to tell that an Outlaw is probably going to shank you or that a Mother likes to help out new players.

Dying resets your character: passages, reputation with creatures, everything. You're respawned as a slugpup and have to start all over again.

Ascending permanently removes you from the server. Make sure you're really done before taking the plunge.

I doubt that any of this is feasible or that anybody other than me would enjoy it, but its fun to think about.

you get the impression that gains of American empire used to be a bit more broadly distributed, so there’s a sense in which working class people don’t necessarily feel globally privileged relative to other first world nations.

that said, yeah, the fact that societal discontent has created this giant opening for the Thiel/Yarvin/tech right sickos is very disturbing. Possibly my most hated RW faction, and the most threatening to overall societal flourishing.

All the trads wanted was for everyone to LARP that they care about church and have lots of babies, the nativists want to LARP as 1952 and probably have lots of babies, but these Silicon Valley guys are just freaks. Watched some interviews with Thiel/andresen/Balaji/etc and I’m seriously considering exit strategies from the country
