If you can’t criticize bigotry without offering a disclaimer about something unrelated then you are a bigot, full stop, and you are exactly the type of person who has helped enable this kind of hate in our society.

Pennsylvania State Police have charged a Harrisburg man they say broke into Gov. Josh Shapiro’s residence early Sunday and started a fire while Shapiro and his family were sleeping. Shapiro, his wife Lori, their four children, two dogs and another family were forced to evacuate from the home, which was significantly damaged by the fire. There were no injuries. Cody Balmer, 38, turned himself into police has since been charged with attempted murder, aggravated arson, terrorism and other charges in connection with the fire, which occurred hours after Shapiro and his family hosted a Passover dinner. Balmer said he was angry with the governor and would have beaten him with a hammer if confronted, according to an affidavit filed early Monday.

In the world of US politics that US citizens should be aware of, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro was the target of what I can only describe as a hate crime and a terrorist attack. While the suspect's motives are unconfirmed or have not yet been made public [AP], given the timing of the attack being the first night of Passover, Gov. Shapiro's position a Democratic leader and proximity to the Harris campaign, and the fact that the attack was clearly premeditated [CNN], I cannot help but draw that conclusion.

We live in dangerous times, especially for those of us who are marginalized in one way or the other. Please stand with and protect your Jewish friends and neighbors, especially in activism. They are far more likely to face retaliation than their white gentile peers. We have a duty to stand together.

I've seen a couple people on here say things like, "The US is being run by literal Nazis and you're upset about antisemitism from leftists?" And you know what? Yes, I am.

I am angry that the people who told me they weren't antisemitic are being antisemitic. I am angry that the people who promised me a safe space are now going back on that promise. I am angry that the people who said they were better than that are being cruel in the same ways as the people I've always expected cruelty from.

I expect antisemitism from Nazis. I get angry when it comes from people who claimed to be my friends.

ok i'm gonna answer one of these unironically for once, one of my favorite bands of all time is Talk Talk. they only released 5 albums, my favorite of which is the final one "Laughing Stock". it's great on its own but if you want to get the full effect and hear an artist evolve in real time into something wildly different, listen to all 5 albums in release order and that last one will hit like a speeding bus.

release order is "the party's over" -> "it's my life" -> "the colour of spring" -> "spirit of eden" -> "laughing stock"
