this is some kind of standalone idea. the original version was much more goofy, crassus was going to cover up pompey's mouth and say, 'no, no. he's got a point. let him speak,' and then pompey was going to bite his hand and say, 'you're not even supposed to BE here.'

then I read a review about a staging of julius caesar that sounded like it got REALLY mean (because it involved improv since it seemed like the intention was supposed to be interactive with the audience) and decided to add some teeth into it.

(also yes, I broke the 180 rule. it’s fine. usually I try to include panels that show characters walking around when I do that, but this comic was a standalone, so instead pretend that I’m spinning the theoretical cameraman around on an office chair or something. or that the camera is a ghost.)

also because titling something Carrion Eater and then NOT having it get a little mean and nasty in the dialogue seemed. like a waste.

eventually, I'll figure out a design for lucullus that I like, I keep wanting to draw other characters when I draw him, so he might need a new hairstyle.

Hey, real talk for a second, I'm considering not uploading anymore and only turning this is to a reblog only account because of the AI choices from Tumblr. I truthfully feel incredibly guilty that, even though I was crediting the artists and linking everything, I was still submitting their work to be used for AI thru Tumblr and that is not fair to the artists that worked incredibly hard on their art. I'm gonna try and do a bit more research before I make a final choice in the matter but I want to thank everyone for thier kindness the past couple of years and im grateful a small community spawned on discord!

I'll update this post when I think I've figured everything out and any artist out there please give me any advice on how you would handle this situation please! My options right now are to delete all the pictures I've uploaded or maybe nuke the blog entirely? I'm not sure but again, I'm grateful for everyone's kindness and I hope we can keep being kind together.

DnD 5e has done a lot of bad in the TTRPG space but the worst thing it's done as far as I'm concerned is completely erased people's ability to distinguish between whether they want to play a "wargame with roleplay" type TTRPG or a "guided collaborative storytelling" type TTRPG. This is because 5e has (somehow?) convinced people that it's both, when in reality it's just kind of a poorly made wargame with roleplay type.

This makes it extra hard to recommend them another game. It's so hard to find people to play other system with nowadays because "I like DnD" could mean "I would probably be happier playing Pathfinder" or "I love trying to force an indie 1 page rpg into the DnD rules" and there's no way to know which one, even if you try and talk to them, because the distinction has been so thoroughly erased by WotC that people don't even know there's a distinction between the two. And good luck trying to get someone to try 2 new systems.....

wips to look back on to for myself and wonder quietly, why i have zero chill.

I wanted some sort of funny lil "oh we go to a competition" intro comic thingie like I saw others do and was like "eh.. 3 or 4 pages right?" I worked up 20 so far because idk flow?? Madness?? Zero chill? No idea but I am loving the ride I am on honestly. And yeah sketches / undersketches /linework all over the place because I sketched out almost all the pages roughly and instead of going page by page I just... jump back and forth on what I like to do first and build it up from there. Also like.. 8 characters to bounce around. And horses. Can't forget there are also some horses because they decide to take along some of them for bribery or to endear themselves to their competition to maybe team up and get past the prelims together. As normal people do. Jus.. a "little" comic for the @tmntaucompetition prelims in the works with my "The Unicorn Paradox" crew

The idea of fantasy elements in a modern world has always interested me. So for my modern muses I'm placing them in such a setting. Everything is the same except with adding like Elves, Dwarves and the like as well as magic, though magic isn't as common as it is in medieval fantasy.
