sentimentally, Damian's original Robin suit by Frank Quitely is my fav - the blueprint for his hood and lace-up boots!! it always makes me think of Batman and Robin (2009) especially #4 🥺

Dick calls out the disadvantage of Damian's hood, even physically challenging him. then it rains and Damian gives Dick this smug look, but Dick just smiles in good humor 😭

The Batman Files has a drawing and note that says it's Dick's design for Damian's Robin uniform, which contradicts the comic but i still think it's cute to mention!! like maybe Damian wasn't satisfied by Dick's work until he would add a hood, so there's older drafts somewhere in the cave lol

Heizou ->

Has thousands and thousands of screenshots, pictures, and videos saved on his phone. Refuses to delete them because “you never know, they might come in use later.” Once in a VERY LONG while does his habit actually pay off. He’s paying for the cloud subscription service 1000% If he doesn’t his phone is borderline useless. If you go through it you’ll wonder how he finds jack sh*t in that phone, there’s no organization on/in that thing. That being said he doesn’t need to put things in separate albums because he had absolutely no issues with finding what he needs. (he’s literally me)

Sunday ->

Sunday likes to tend to his multiple gardens back where he lives. There’s two green houses back at his home. One is his and one belongs to his dear sister. If you want one too, he’ll gladly make some plans for yours next. When him or Robin can’t tend to the flowers, he has a gardener come tend to them in the meantime. While all of them brings joy to him he has a special soft spot for (white) calla lilies and spider mums.

Scaramouche/Wanderer ->

The definition of an annoying menace. He’ll put sticky notes with (sometimes with writing) on your back without you knowing. He used to do this to Childe too, only when it was Childe it would be way meaner. One fool read the ‘kick me’ note on his back and actually did it. Poor idiot guy learned a lesson that day. The worst he’s put on your back was a note with a stupid face on it. And if someone makes fun of you for it, he’ll give them a black eye! He’s the only one allowed to be an ass to you. :)

Furina ->

Does catwalk struts in her mirror when no one is home. She gets wayyyyy too into it. She’ll start on one side of the house and when she gets to her mirror she’ll strike a pose. One time you walked into her standing in front of the mirror doing pose 28. She couldn’t look into your eyes for a week afterwards. If you ask her to give her a lil show, she’ll do it but don’t laugh cause she might cry. lol. (she’s so me coded)

Sampo ->

He plays those driving games with the steering wheel and all. Sampo started streaming it too to make some hot cash$$ This man is DEDICATED to the act he preforms while streaming this game. If he gets into an accident in the game he makes it look like it happened irl too. He’s given himself whiplash from how fast and hard he slammed himself in his chair. think this.

Xiao->

BIG CONCERT FAN!!! Hates the crowds so much though (T ^ T) He’s so not a people person. Always manages to get great seats for you guys. He’s willing to see any performer if it’s for you, even if it’s not someone he likes. I personally see him as liking every genre of music, so there’s a fat chance he’ll still like the music being played. Xiao would put you on his shoulders if you ask him too. But I can’t guarantee you’ll be able to see any better this way because of how short he is.

Pela ->

Pela makes a crap ton of edits and fanfics. Any where between thirst edits and angst edits of anime characters. She’s got over 50k followers just waiting for her to drop the newest robin or satosugu edit. She’s also got of followers on the platform she posts her fanfics on. She’s big on x readers AND ship fics. That girl puts in work making sure both her edits and fics are absolutely perfect.

It was any other day and you were exploring some wasteland in hopes to try out some new tricks before going back to turf war, but what you had stumbled across some old technology

curiosity had gotten the better of you, you began to fiddle with the old tech, but suddenly it started to boot up???

meanwhile in Gotham they were fighting a villain who had some crazy experimental technology and as they apprehended the villain... the tech also began to glow !!!

BAM!!!! or something

A humanoid creature appeared from the other side....

as you stand up and wipe the dust off of your shirt you look around and see a some odd stuff.... and people... why were they dressed as ancient animals that no longer exist, and why were they so much taller than usual ???

Damian was apprehensive as he had seen the "weapon" on you

however batman stopped him seeing as you looked like a child, although odd

Batman began to question you but when you had answered there was a language barrier

As the few members of the bat family that were there (batman, robin, Nightwing, and oracle talking to them) they were trying to figure out what to do, the technology kinda went to shit but it'll take some time to look at for sure

as they talked you began to look around, then that evolved into wandering around

seeing a larger city and a new city, you had went out and explored ! eventually you found some alley ways and began doing some parkour and whatever cool trick you could do off of the environment

However on batman's end they must find you, a strange critter, maybe alien who doesnt speak a human language is out wondering Gotham city at night!!!

Oracle calls in a few more to help fan out as it seems you got far in surprisingly a short amount of time ????

after not too long Nightwing had found you and took note of your cool skills, like damn, lil critter has some tricks !!!!!

He found you and you deemed him trustworthy to follow

they bring you back to the bat cave and truly take in how aquatic you look, the eyes, teeth and hair? tentacles????

after some more time they found that in a quick amount of time you were able to pick up a few sign language phrases

also batman the great detective he is gave you some pen and paper to draw out what happened

it was, something that's for sure!!

however you also conveniently had a small amount of photos on you to show where you were from

as Batman had looked through the photos he saw more humanoid aquatic creatures but you didn't live under the sea, he then saw the ink which was also odd

soon he had began to notice the odd things in your wastelands

I think rightwing would show you cool acrobatic tricks to polish whatever skills you have

since im thinking of a squid kid I think you be a little cringe fail, like trying to imitate their hero poses or something lol

They would be interested in seeing what you can do as youre a squid that can't go into the water

surprised at how chill you were with things happening but they saw how you missed your pals from back home, and turf

Plays card games with you/teaches them !!! A fun pass time

communication would happen through cards, sign language and eventually they would pick up on the phrases you say in squid language

The Sunday Ramble

Hello. I'm pen, and today im going to ramble about Sunday. If you dislike him, please get off my page. I cannot stress this enough.

So, why do I like Sunday?

short answer: he tickles my brain.

Long Answer:

As a character, he's super compelling to me because of 3 things: his design, his backstory, and his personality.

I enjoy both of his designs for a lot of reasons.

Old Design rant:

I think the eyes hidden throughout his design is such a neat detail because you don't see it a lot, and because I like to think that he had like a bunch of them that could kinda see (eventually ill do a redesign with the eyes). I also just think it looks really nice to wear. Like. I'd be cozy asf. Also, i do think he looks dashing.

New design rant:

Along his waist and legs there are these like thorns, yk? i think its kinda two things - jesus parallel, but also to kinda like. maybe symbolize the fact that he tried to trap everyone in ena's dream, and now hes the one trapped, kinda? also, maybe its because its like. a new cage, so to speak, cuz like wherever hes going is still not going to be enough - the night is still to short, after all- he is decked out in blues and whites and yellows and purples - white is typically associated with purity and priests, which make sense, but something about white also tends to symbolize youthfulness and naive/naivety and if i was designing a character like sunday, i would put him in so much white too so...yellow is like. most associated with like. happiness and hope, but also caution and im not going to say too much but i do hope if they are doing color symbolizism its the like. hope angle b/c i dont want to go thru another wanderer patch monent - blues can be either like. calm and reassurances but it can also be depression so. yk. - purples r like. spirituality which makes sense- also their the color of the nonbinary pride flag so im gonna die happy- also, note the like. chord (the lil like bars i think) design around his neck, which is kinda a call back to robin and yes i am going to be crying of this for DAYS.- also his pose 1 .) HPLY FUCK HIS WAIST??? �� DUCKING YUMMY sorry 2.) hes like reaching up to the fether but hes still unsure and hes still hesitant about like a lot of it and i wonder if he isnt like. super hesitant about like. what his path will take him on b/c like. his "path" was severed by the trailblazer, his ideals and hopes where kinda like a convo like "yes we uunderstand you want to protect the weak, but your equality isnt fair and jt isnt good to force onto others" and now he needs to walk a new path and idk what other people feel when they have to go thru big life changes but thats scary!! and ur unsure of urself the whole tome!! b/c like!! its TERRIFYING and yes maybe i need to get disgnosed but ive known that for a while and maybe its me wanting toproject but i think that he can be scared too

(i would also like to mention that i am no like. analyst, so if these are wrong they wrong. i just like him)

His backstory:

Holy. Lord. I could not stop CRYING. Maybe it's because he was just a kid when stuff started happening that never should have happened, maybe it's because every star rail update has made me cry, but holy. I was a mess, yall. Just a mess.

Secondly, I think his philosophy is Interesting too: It's kind of like a mix between order and harmony and idk man i just fuck with it. Do i think he went a little extreme? Yes. FUCK YES. Do i completely understand his character? no. But do i find his entire philosophy (which side note, halfway remind me of the beatitudes (the meek shall inherit the earth, yadda yadda) conpelling? YEAH.

Also, fuck gopher wood. All my homies hate him.

Personality!!

First, because i thibk ill forget to mention it: i am a "Sunday has OCD" truther. I forget if its canon...

Do i think he goes a lil too hard with everything? yes. However, i think you can tell through his conversation with Aventurine that he needs this or else his life will fall apart.

(Secondly, i do want to make clear that i dont support his actions. I think i may come off that way. Also, i hope that if they do ever meet again, Sunday will apologize for that stuff(/gen) he did and then they can kiss about it(/j)

I also just like his personality, i donr have the words to explain it.

HEADCANON TIME

Eyes: I think he has a fuck ton of them, and they can kinda partially see but its all like shadowy. I think he also literally had eyes in the back of his head.

Wings: I studided birds for him. I think that he does also gave waist wings.

i am so convinced that this man should be a stellaron hunter. I need him to meet blade. lord bless sunren (or avenday... or argenday..... or sunheng.... im insane ik)

A Small Date

Hello hope you guys like this lil story with Tim and Steph! This is like 3k so its not that long, have a good day!

“Just one more test and we should be done Tim, then we can finally get to work on getting you back to normal.” Bruce reassured as he carefully took another small blood sample from Tim and headed over to the batcomputer to start having it tested, this was not how Tim wanted his night to go.

For you see, Tim was not experiencing a normal side effect from some new rogue's gimmick, he was currently standing at 4 in tall and barely audible to anyone if he wasn't using a small microphone Bruce had gotten for him. Tim slowly sat down on the tray he had been left on bandaging up his arm. It had taken some time but Bruce had found a safe way to draw some blood from Tim and now could hopefully look into the serum that made him this size.

It had already been a very long night and this was definitely the cherry on top, only Bruce knew about the situation (for now) so Tim thankfully wasn't being too overwhelmed with how much bigger everyone was compared to him. That was about to change when Tim heard a motorcycle roaring down into the Batcave and quickly covered his ears as it got louder.

“Bruce!” ‘Oh no it's Dick’ “Why did you and Tim go quiet? Where is he?” Dick yelled as he marched over to the batcomputer and completely missed Tim on the examination tray, despite knowing the fight that was about to break out without his brother knowing his location he was a bit thankful for being ignored.

When Dick Greyson, the first Robin and current Nightwing, was angry you could feel it radiating off of him.

“He's fine, he didn't take any natural injuries after getting attacked by the new rogue we dealt with tonight.” Bruce stated bluntly not really trying to reassure his eldest son, Tim noticed Dick’s hands slowly balling up into fist and quickly grabbed the microphone he had been given.

“I'm over here!” Tim yelled and flinched as his brother snapped his eyes towards his direction, Dick found him quickly and started walking over to where Tim was.

His brother was normally taller than him but at this small size it was almost impossible to look up at Dick’s face, when Dick leaned over the tray placing both of his hands down on it. Tim stumbled back falling to the ground and still struggling to make eye contact with his brother.

“What the hell? Are you okay Tim?” Dick asked and Tim fought back from covering his ears with how loud his brother was, oh this was going to suck.

“Yeah-” Tim realized he didn't have his microphone and quickly grabbed it. “Yeah I'm okay, a little sore from the fight but besides that I'm fine!”

“I mean with the shrinking part.” Dick crouched down in front of the table, probably noticing how much his brother was struggling to meet his eyes well standing.

“Oh this? I'll be fine, you guys know where I am and no one that could pose an actual threat to me would be able to get into the cave so it's fine!” Tim put on his best smile and hoped that would satisfy Dick but with the way he narrowed his eyes at Tim and instantly went over to Bruce whispering something, yeah this was going to be a very long night.

And with how the universe wanted to mock Tim Drake it decided right now he would be getting an important phone call and heard his phone going off from the lockers, he looked over at Bruce and Dick to see if they were paying any attention to him and thankfully they weren't.

Tim thankfully hadn't had his gear confiscated after being shrunk so he still had his grappling hook and could easily get down to the ground without much trouble. Tim walked over to the edge of the table he was stuck on and shot his Hook off to wrap around the nearby med bay legs. With extreme ease and no real concern of anyone seeing Tim’s grand escape he got down to the floor and started making his way to the locker room.

It took much longer than usual with Tim being at such a small size but once the teen finally reached his locker and successfully got his grappling hook lodged in between the small window at the top of it Tim could finally make his way up and open the locker. Tim considered himself lucky he had so haphazardly thrown his phone into his locker, he didn't have a second grappling hook to get himself up onto the top shelf of the locker and there was no way with how smooth the walls of the locker where he could climb his way up.

So Tim slowly descended down to the ground and walked over to his phone that laid among the small pile of dirty clothes he had left in the locker. He quickly turned his phone on and checked the messages he had received well on patrol. Tim felt his body run a little cold as he saw the new message from Stephanie.

Hey, are we still on for tonight? Babs mentioned you suddenly went off the grid with Bats.

“Ah shit…” Tim mumbled to himself as he finally remembered what else he was supposed to do tonight. He and Stephanie tried to have occasional date nights where it would just be the two of them and they wouldn't have to worry about anything else, Stephanie had had to cancel two of their most recent dates well Tim had canceled three.

Tim already felt guilty about the reason why he canceled the last one and the idea of canceling four of their dates in a row just made the young hero feel worse, Stephanie deserved to do something nice and Tim was going to do his best to give her a nice night.

He would just have to change up some of their plans. He quickly texted her back.

Yeah, we're all good! But I can't really leave the manner so would you be okay if we have a date here? I'll get you whatever take out you want and we can watch your favorite movie?

Oookay we can do that, I didn't really want to wear heels tonight anyway. Be there soon!

Tim then quickly pulled up to one of Stephanie's favorite takeout places and started placing an order. Thank God he could do this over text because he genuinely did not know if his phone would pick up his voice. With how frantically fast Tim was moving he didn't even notice the large shadow that slowly fell over him and peeked down at what he was doing on his phone.

As Tim finished filling out his order for his and Stephanie's Chinese food a cold finger poked him in the back and caused his entire body to shiver, he very slowly looked up at his brother and instantly put on a nervous smile.

“So instead of canceling your date you're going to have one here? Do you really think you can argue with B like this?” Dick asked, resting his chin on one of his hands and still crouching down by his brother's locker.

Tim went from awkward smiling to pleading with his brother, there was no way he would win the argument at this size but if a particular older brother who loved and adored him very much was nice and helped him out? Maybe.

Dick seemed to catch on to this plan and let out a deep sigh as he slowly stood back up and headed towards wherever Bruce was.

Tim simply waited in his locker to find out what was going to happen, he really hoped Dick was helping him.

Stephanie waited by the door of Wayne Manor as she checked her phone and texted Tim again that she was here. She really hoped no one would intrude on her and Tim's little date but they were going to be having a date in Wayne Manor, the place was crawling with detectives who liked to put their nose in places they shouldn't.

No Stephanie wasn't going to be negative, she was going to have faith that Tim had taken the right precautions to get everyone to leave them alone. It would be fine.

Steph looked up from her phone as the door finally swung open and surprisingly instead of being greeted by Alfred she was greeted by Dick, Stephanie didn't think much of it as she walked inside and took her shoes off by the door.

“Hey Dick, is Tim still setting up where we're having our date?” Steph asked as she hung her coat on the nearby coat rack.

“Um, you can say that.” Dick bounced back and forth on his feet and Stephanie instantly catched on to his nervousness, oh god what did Tim do?

“What did my boyfriend do? Should I run while I have the chance?” Stephanie asked as she turned around to face the oldest Wayne and instantly became confused, Dick was holding out his hands revealing a small earpiece that was very different from their normal comms.

“So with the small incident that occurred that makes it so Tim can't go out you need to wear this special earbud, once you see him it will make more sense I promise.” Dick gave his award-winning grin to the confused blonde, Stephanie wanted to ask more questions but she had learned a long time ago questioning the bird boys was just a waste of time.

So Stephanie took the earpiece, put it in, and began her walk into Wayne Manor to find out where her boyfriend was hiding. Dick helped a little, only stalling her from finding the room once or twice, as usual Tim wanted to make sure things were perfect.

Once they found the room Dick slowly walked off, obviously waiting for Stephanie to go into the room, Steph simply rolled her eyes as she pushed the doors open and walked into one of the many living rooms in Wayne Manor. It was one of the more casual ones that obviously was reserved for the younger family members, the only odd thing about the room was the fact that Stephanie didn't see her boyfriend anywhere.

She hesitantly poked her head out into the hallway hoping to ask Dick where he was but the elders had already ran off to god knows where (hopefully keeping Bruce distracted so he didn't interfere with their date), so Stephanie realized she was on her own with finding her boyfriend.

Which turned out to not be too hard when she heard a quiet voice call her name from the coffee table in the middle of the room.

“Steph! Over here!” The blonde haired girl snapped her head over and narrowed her eyes when she spotted the small figure moving around on the coffee table, her mouth fell open as realization slowly dawned on her.

Tim was standing in the middle of the coffee table, he was no taller than the tissue box next to him, and well he was wearing more casual clothes. They were definitely clothes you wore during the colder season.

It was summer.

“Steph?” Tim’s voice wasn't very loud but thankfully it was still audible. “I know this is weird but-”

“Tiny.” Stephanie finally blurted out.

“I- yes I am.” Tim admitted not planning on denying his shrunken state.

“Itty bitty.” Stephanie continued.

“Steph please-”

“Tiny little man.” 

“Steph our takeout-”

“Super shorty. That's it, that's your nickname for tonight Super Shorty.” Stephanie's shocked face had disappeared long ago and now was replaced with a mischievous grin. She slowly walked over to the coffee table and sat down on the floor in front of the couch.

Apparently the fast sudden movements shook the coffee table as Tim lost his balance and fell onto his butt, Steph just continued smiling as she gently poked Tim’s face.

“Can you not? Also our takeouts going to get cold.” Tim shoved the large finger away trying to look angry but Stephanie could tell Tim was simply his normal annoyed self with her, if she really wanted to push it she could even say he might actually like the nickname she came up with.

“Yeah yeah, so what are we watching Tim thumb?” Stephanie asked as she opened up the bag containing their Chinese takeout, Steph was about to question why there was only one box but then remembered her boyfriend's very small size. 

“I thought my nickname was Super Shorty.” Tim walked over to the TV remote using his foot to hit the power on button and then started scrolling through the streaming service they were using to find a movie.

“Your nickname is whatever my brilliant brain comes up with next.” Stephanie responded as she noticed the small bowl that had been placed next to the carryout and started dishing some of her fried rice and a piece of her sweet and sour chicken into it, Stephanie rarely ever shared her food with anyone but with how little Tim usually eat she had gotten used to sharing some of her stuff with him. Plus Tim actually knew how to take a small bite out of something. 

“Whatever, I guess calling me mean nicknames is more important than asking what happened to me.” Tim said dramatically, pressing his hand against his forehead and pretending like he was about to faint, Stephanie couldn't help herself but laugh.

“You're not dead and you're obviously fine if you decide to still have our date tonight, plus you're good at giving me the information I do need when it's important.” Stephanie sneakily took the remote causing him to fumble forward a little and started typing into the search bar ’Honey I shrunk the kids’.

“Really?” Tim asked, crossing his arms and jokingly glaring up at Steph. “Don't you think that's a bet on the nose?”

“Yeah but I'm kind of in a horror mood, y'know?” Stephanie responded back she found the movie and pressed select. Tim walked over to his bowl of food pulling tiny utensils out of his hoodie pocket.

(Where the actual hell did Bruce get that???)

“Horror? You think Honey I shrunk the kids as a horror movie?” Tim asked, looking up at his girlfriend, quite a spectacle.

“Have you ever actually seen this movie before?” Stephanie asked gently poking him in the chest with her chopsticks, Tim shoved the sticks away, sticking his tongue out at Steph.

“No but I highly doubt this movie is that scary.” Tim rolled his eyes as he started eating his dinner.

“We'll see about that.” Stephanie said ominously ignoring how Tim rolled his eyes at her, she pressed play on the movie that she started eating her own dinner.

Tim seriously regretted his wording earlier from when they started the movie, it was an old Disney movie before they had started to pull back their punches and wouldn't hesitate to lean into genuine horror of the situation at hand. Tim had very slowly since the bee incident in the movie inched closer and closer to Steph and sometimes even mumbling her name to make sure she could hear him, Stephanie must have caught on at some point as she would quietly whisper his name back instead of looking down to face him.

At this point Tim was hiding behind one of Stephanie's arms as they continued to watch the movie, Tim wasn't actually scared of any of these things happening to him but it was still a bit unnerving to think if he had gone any smaller than he was now something similar could have happened.

Thankfully it was Tim's turn to pick the movie once ’Honey I shrunk the kids’ ended, he decided to pick a generic movie. Tim ended up finding schoolhouse rock and just picked it without thinking much of it.

Surprisingly the two really enjoyed the movie and got completely engrossed in it, once the movie ended and Stephanie checked her phone. Stephanie instantly rolled her eyes and put her phone away in her purse and started gathering up her stuff.

“Looks like I need to get home now, my mom thought she saw a certain bastard and wants me home now.” Stephanie explained, obviously getting frustrated. Tim frowned as he realized he couldn't follow Stephanie home as Robin just to also make sure her mom had actually just been seeing things.

“Do you want Dick to drive you home? I'm sure he would do it since it would give him a chance to avoid having to stay the night here.” Tim asked, as he stood up on the coffee table and followed after Stephanie and she got up to walk away, he stopped right at the edge of the table staring up at her.

“Yeah I would appreciate it, I'll go ask him- oh wait I need to give you something!” Stephanie crouched down in front of the coffee table and gently scooped Tim up into her hands, Tim simply stared at his girlfriend extremely confused as she brought him closer to her face.

“Steph what are you-” Tim went completely silent as Stephanie gently pressed her lips against Tim's face and some of his chest giving him a small kiss, before the Raven headed boy could respond he was carefully set back down on the coffee table.

Stephanie quickly got back to her feet, turned around and walked out of the room. Tim looked over at the reflective surface of the metal cup Stephanie had been drinking from.

And no Tim couldn't decide what was worse. The fact that he looked like a cartoon character with the big lipstick stain Stephanie had left on his face and shirt, or the fact that he couldn't tell the difference between Stephanie's pink lipstick on his own face anymore.

Bonus-

Dick had just gotten back from dropping Stephanie off at home and doing a few laps around her neighborhood to make sure a certain someone wasn't around, the coast had been all clear thankfully but he had sent a quick text to the huntress to check out the area before she headed home from her patrol.

Once Dick had announced he was back Alfred had asked him to go check on Tim who apparently had been sitting in the living room completely quiet since Stephanie had left, and with Dick being a very good big brother he happily agreed and eagerly went to go check on Tim.

What he saw almost caused him to burst out laughing but he quickly composed himself and cleared his throat to get his little brother's attention.

“Hey Tim, how did your date with Stephanie go?” Dick asked, walking into the room and crouching down by the coffee table.

“Oh it was great!” Tim quickly answered, rocking back and forth where he sat. “We had a great time, ate great food, and watched really fun movies!”

“Mhm mhm, I've got to say I really love the new design on your hoodie.” Dick commented no longer being able to hold back his laughter as he started chuckling.

Tim only for a moment looked at his brother confused until he looked down at his hoodie and realized some of Stephanie's lipstick was still stuck to it. It's obvious he had tried wiping it off but bright pink mixed with dark green wasn't the easiest thing to hide.

Dick fell to the floor with laughter as Tim’s face slowly started to turn a similar pink color and looked at Dick with venomous eyes, he would definitely be facing his little brother's wrath later but quite frankly he found it worth it.

nooo your tags on the keys post making me think of steve being Expressive in front of the others and one of them saying 'wow you've been hanging out with eddie too much' and eddie gets flustered because 'oh my god steve picked up one of MY behaviours <33'. people never talk about steddie taking after each other!!! oh my god!!!??

omg yessss!!!! that is one of my FAVORITE things, i LOVE it when they just spend so much time together and are around each other so much that they just start picking little things up from each other!! like what is love if not blending so seamlessly together that you just become one like that!! (i SWEAR i read a nice quote about this kind of thing once but i cannot for the life of me remember what it was lmao)

steve starts talking with his hands more because eddie is always gesticulating wildly and flailing his arms around when he speaks. eddie starts doing the patented Mom Pose because steve does it so much that it's just second nature to him now. steve starts scrunching his nose up like a little bunny rabbit when someone says something he doesn't like because he sees eddie do it all the time and thinks it's adorable. eddie starts using those ridiculous phrases like "hold your horses" and "let's rock and roll" and other things like that because steve says them so much and he's subconsciously adopted them into his vernacular too.

i L O V E when that happens!!!!

(honestly, i love it when it happens with all of the party, not just steddie! like 100% steve starts rambling more after spending so much time with robin!! and let's be real it isn't just eddie who does the Mom Pose now - they all do lol. and dustin starts stretching out his words in that dramatic way eddie always does. and and and-)

but yEAH. eddie getting soooo flustered the first time it gets pointed out that steve has started doing something that eddie does is SO GOOD. i can just see the way his eyes would go widewidewide and he'd try to like duck his head as a cute lil blush rose to his cheeks and he'd pull his hair over his mouth the way he does when he's shy about something. (and oh BOY if steve ever grew his hair long enough to be able to do that and he started doing that too, eddie would actually honest to god melt into the floor because that would be aDORABLE. and he would understand why it is steve's favorite thing to make eddie blush and hide behind his hair like that.)

it's even better if they aren't even together/haven't confessed their feelings/maybe even haven't realized their feelings yet either because oh man i can just imagine the Realizations that would stem from that kind of thing being pointed out - the taking after each other, but also the fact that they've been that attached at the hip lately for it to happen!! the way steve would be like oh, i guess i do do this thing that eddie does and WHY do i do it? and WHAT does that mean? and ohoho the spiral it could take him on there (a good spiral, a very very good spiral!! one that leads right to ~feeeeelings realizations~).

but also just eddie being like w o a h someone is copying me. he'd be so awed by that, especially given that this particular behavior - the gesticulating - is one that's probably gotten him in some trouble before (or at least has gotten him told off; he's heard plenty of "eddie, sit still!"s in his day). so to see someone else, someone he cares about so deeply, picking up that particular habit of his and like basically enjoying that part of him enough to emulate it, that just blows his mind!!!

My favorite Muppet of all is Dr Teeth, keyboardist and front man of the rock band, Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem 💚💚💚 In my ocxcanon-verse, the groovy lady who's captured the good doc's heart is a writer named Marisol~

She is a tv writer who works on scripts for the talk show Up Late With Miss Piggy and Teeth is part of the house band for the show; they probably met at work, though Marisol has been a fan of the band's music for years. (fun fact: one of Teeth's bandmates, Zoot, is her cousin!)

Unlike the flashy, loud, and charismatic Teeth, Marisol's a little more reserved, shy, and tends to overthink things. She's also a very sweet, fun person in her own right once you get to know her, and she and Teeth hit it off pretty well, being fellow creatives, fans of rock music, and lovers of good food/desserts. On occasion, Teeth finds himself turning to Mari to help him out when he has writer's block (and vice versa), and they make beautiful music together, in all senses~ ^^

Fun facts about Mari:

IMPORTANT: she is pretty tall! I don't have a "set height" for her, but she is noticeably taller than Teeth, and it's at least a lil visible when they're sitting next to each other. Love a cute height difference x)

has a fondness/superstition for good luck charms (her 'usual' outfit includes a clover necklace and lady bug skirt pattern)

has a little black kitten named Bea as a pet (she doesnt believe black cats are bad luck, quite the opposite in fact)

her favorite dessert are macarons

best friend is Yolanda the rat (she works on the Miss Piggy show, too, as one of Kermit's personal assistants. she's chatty and nosey, but has a heart of gold, always encouraging Marisol to get out of her comfort zone, and ask out that musician she's been crushin on for months!!)

(Egg)Shell Game

We've had breakfast, everyone's all rise and shiney, who's ready for a lil Chapter 1090? Hope you are because this was a great followup to 1089 finally getting us back to Egghead in pitch-perfect fashion which here means the perfect fashion for my lil pitch. This followup? Even better. We gloss over the night in the lab for the intrigue then Uno Reverse that shit by popping the bubble and showing it's a mixed bag. But this bit here is what has me downright giddy. Simply put...we could have chosen any detail to cut off in this fashion. Robin's right 100%, but put a pin in that. She specifically cuts off Luffy talking about who is all assembled up there. And if you want to write this off as coincidence...

We do it twice, this time more meta. I just think, given my whole oeuvre, this is the type of weird lil trickery I want to see. That said there's a lot to this chapter so lemme finish the thought on Robin. This is a fantastic demonstration of what I mean when I say personality wise Robin & Kiku are very different. Robin is the cool head here, but because she isn't exactly a specialist at this kind of thing she's missing the chance to execute Luffy's legitimately good mindset here better. Get what I'm saying? All New World we've had beats like this, I don't feel it's a stretch at all to say Luffy is thinking of the ability to solve this through theatrics at least partially because Bakura Town impressed him. We'll have to touch on this being another great "bookend" chapter for Luffy too. But let's get to the meaty middle first.

I like this beat. First, gotta note this is a banger Nami chapter. Love seeing mah girl prime just wail on York. Beat the shit out of her. I love her being a savage little shit. It's just like the best parts of having Caesar around, I adore how everytime he comes up Nami cannot let it go without wishing he'd die. Also, Future Kick! from a little while ago is a modern classic. Getting distracted by my sweet tangerine of Cocoyashi.

The log, this moment carries a lot of symbolic weight and it's something we've had a lot to say about. Think about it in contrast with Jaya, where we had a time limit before it would reset and we'd miss our real adventure. A lateral move. Not to say we haven't broken from the Log Pose plenty, just that while Elbaf is an attractive idea tempering it with something so foundational to the series really feels like it could be a way of saying we're not done here. Consider that plus how this chapter ends, but I'd also note there is that subtle but very Kiku-like story structure in casually making a plan now. Oh...y'all just got things relatively under control in 1089. You haven't even fully dealt with York.

Before that though, something else feels like it has begun in earnest.

Think about a shell game, this is the part where the dealer starts shuffling faster. Teasing you with Lilith's excitement, Bonney admiring Sanji, Stussy's intrigue with Lucci, Vivi on Morgans's ship. These are all things that we can see in fandom reactions, it's the type of thing that raises questions. None of it's really substantial, it feels like a scattershot more than anything. Quantity over quality. None of this is selling me on the idea we've had our fun and we're scooting off to Elbaf in a handful of chapters. But I don't feel we're taking a lot longer here either. It's very interesting the other shoe drops as we approach the ship with a small group:

Did Luffy pull a Kin'emon? As in, did his blunder incidentally bait Kizaru into the dome alone because he's misjudging the bluster? This can be very interesting from here. It's really just putting us right at where I mentioned as we pulled away. Kizaru leapt in alone, especially with the Sea Beasts in front...the Grand Fleet would tear through this Marine Fleet like paper. Gold star friend of the blog and lifetime Admiral's club member Fallensnowfan actually laid this out bizarrely well before reading this chapter. What's really cool is how Egghead has shaped up to be a sci-fi encore of Wano.

You're 100% right about that. We had a meandering time early meeting this famous faction and some other stuff on the side that relied on similar themes. Broke away for a big segment away from the main cast and had the nighttime battle up in a cordoned off space where no one really knows what went down. Playing with that idea explicitly. And now a smaller group is broken off to clash with an admiral. Bookends, just like the last Admiral bookended a big theme of Wano centered squarely on our girl.

The Boy Wonder #3 by Juni Ba rambling about how cool this series would be to read in a single sitting...it's all so connected!!

rambles for issue #1 and issue #2!

i don't have as much personal interpretation for this cover besides it being a solid piece of art in shapes and silhouette! ALSO. bi bg lighting lol. Damian's "X" posing of his cape and swords parallels with Tim's "X" chest straps + the Robin emblem in the center. Tim's closed Red Robin wings frames Robin's own outstretched cape wings; and on top of that, the shadows cast inside the wings nicely frames Damian's demon mask.

Joe and Merle's dynamic has been so fun, especially with the mutual enthusiasm over the storytelling 🥺 Joe also opens up about his circumstances that led him to this moment, which perfectly sets up the setting of this issue! Even his very first introduction becomes a relevant detail when a fancy rich couple drops a champagne glass, uncaring of the people literally below them, saying “some poor sap down there’ll appreciate it” when it bonks Joe’s head.

it all comes around!! and tbh this issue proves how much this series would slap to read in a single sitting (GET THE COLLECTED EDITION)

Going beyond first impressions seems to apply to the color palette in this series. From #1 in the first page of Gotham, we see the gold of upper society to the blue of the downtrodden → from issues #2 and #3, it’s the warm gold of inner Gotham to the cold blue of the rich. there’s a sense of community displayed among the poor - even part of Jason’s intro avenging Bill, a generous man mourned on panel by many. The rich gives off a sense of individualism, celebrating themselves and their excess.

With the change in scenery, this issue steps into the more civilian side of things through a spy theme - fancy suits and lil gadget intros! Going down the civilian route with Tim feels very fitting since it's what makes Tim's run as Robin so charming!

i love that Talia’s taught Damian to be conscious of the rich’s effects on society, especially in the following page of small panels zoning in on the details of wealth and overindulgence. but also LIL DAMIAN. HIS LIL ROUND EYES AND HANDS 🥺

Damian’s aware of the facts, and his disgust is clearer after having just been through lower Gotham and seeing firsthand the poverty directly caused by the wealthy (also not sure if that old lady is the same one from #1 with similar hair and clothes, but pls she can't a break…)

i mentioned Damian’s “inciting incident” for this journey to be the intro of a demon for Damian to prove his worth but i’m correcting the use of that term!! the intro of the demon is more the beginning of plot, whereas the actual inciting incident is beheading the thief!! it’s the main reason he’s in this situation where he felt the need to prove himself, and atone. Most notably is that the beheaded thief is a consistent character that quite literally haunts Damian every step of the way.

The statue of Batman’s head being popped off becomes a significant visual, because while Damian started this journey to prove something to Bruce, the only one that really seems to have (quite literal) eyes for Damian’s journey is the thief. Why does he make more of an appearance than the actual Bat? Even his statue’s head doesn’t make a figurative presence; whereas the only one looming over Damian is the thief. Guilt over killing him may be driving him just as much as his desire to be worthy. Alternatively, it could be that Damian needs to reexamine his motivations since the thief is really getting in Damian's face now.

Damian is proud to be a positive influence on Tim, but the moment is short-lived. It’s an ironic moment to me because Damian doesn't even know the impact he's had on Jason just in the previous issue!! 😭

Damian's so desperate to prove his worth, yet he's been making choices in every issue to help others!! Helping the old woman up in #1, being vulnerable with Jason in #2, and now sacrificing himself for Tim!

The Ra’s "Weakness" panel has been reoccurring since #1, but it's the first time Talia has been included. Being great figures in his life and mind, their silhouettes consume Damian's, similar to a few of Batman's appearances below. This latest disappointment was such a blow to Damian, that Talia (who he might have the most respect for) becomes an added voice in his head.

Final thoughts!!

Like Rok, does the thief actually have a connection to the al Ghuls or is this beard just in fashion at the moment.

Lex is clearly referencing one of the Underwell warehouses that Joe and Merle are presently, so wondering if whatever he and Tim discuss here will be affecting them later.

Ending with Talia’s cover for extra hype!! i’ll probably go back to this for the next ramble, but i’m already gearing myself up to wail about Talia just based on this cover. The Mary and Jesus imagery (more prominent with Damian’s lil crown as a “prince”) but most importantly Talia weathering the flames for Damian…her own shroud/shawl wrapped around Damian and burning… oh boy

One Piece Chapter 1077 - Initial Thoughts

Sentomaru's trying to evacuate the island, telling the people that Ohara may happen to them

The shaky alliance are still fighting off the Seraphim, who keep getting up from the combo attacks

Zoro finally clicks on to the fact that the Seraphim look like King, prompting Shaka to confirm that the Seraphim have Lunarian properties

Did we know that it was Punk Hazard they were testing on them? I mean it makes sense given the DF but still

We get the gag of Zoro listing the clear telltale signs of a Lunarian though, but at least they know how to fight them now

Shaka meanwhile suddenly has a clue where the Stella body may be

And back to Nami, turns out she was being attacked by S-Shark

Unnecessary ass shot though

Seems like S-Shark has been busy, beheading Brook and beating down Edison, which only allows Nami to convince herself against her instincts to not hurt a child

The thunderbolt seems to hit hard, but S-Shark sank into the ground to flank Nami

Brook was about to make the save but then Sanji charged in, triggered of course by her scream last chapter

Although Sanji hit S-Shark hard it is worth reminding that the fire is still on its back when he hit them, but I can already tell that twitter's gonna zero in on it

WAIT! SANJI'S TWIRLY BROW CHANGED SIDES AGAIN!! I wonder if that means he's gonna tap into Vinsmoke powers again, maybe he has an anger shift?

With Team Lilith, Lilith manages to deter S-Snake with the Bubble gun

Turns out the Bubble Gun has the same effect as Sea Prism, and Sea Prism still works on Seraphim because of the Green Blood

Lilith's lil pose as Usopp and Pythagoras cheer for her XD

Franky uses the bubble to properly subdue S-Snake, but falls prey to the Seraphim's crocodile tears

Hit with a Perfume Femur, Franky is partially stoned, while Usopp and Lilith get fully stoned by being hit with her cutesy act and DF

Is this the thing I read Usopp would 'never do'? Honestly I thought it was something more dramatic than being caught in the DF powers

I wonder if Franky got fully stoned in transition, but since we know through Boa vs Blackbeard that only the user can undo the Stoning it's worrying for us right now

I do at least hope that Franky (and Usopp and Lilith but not as much of a priority) get unstoned given how an arc about Vegapunk always felt like it was gonna be Franky Season

The place the Stella is being kept is called a 'Devil Fruit Laboratory'

Shaka does arrive there to surprise, so I guess it wasn't him after all

We have all the Seraphim accounted for though, only Pythagoras and maybe Franky are still active around S-Snake, but it was a shame to see Lilith and Usopp shafted even if it's temporarily. Key note though that Seraphim have the same DF weakness, could use those Sea Prism cuffs Lucci and Kaku had on some of them.

Sentomaru evacuating the island is important too, 100 Warships, an Admiral and a Gorosei are on the way, so it'll definitely be worse than Ohara, Egghead is gonna turn into a Warzone.

Guess who finally got around to buying and playing the Engage DLC?

So apparently I just head to the Lookout Ridge to pick up the 3H bracelet.

Okay, so I’ve already beaten the game at this point on this save file, so I’m getting a neat lil Byleth dialogue that I’m assuming is a bonus since they can be unlocked WAY earlier than when you get him.

I’ve heard that Tiki’s paralogue is pretty tough, so I find it interesting that in the same DLC wave as her came a new Emblem that you can just get by walking to a specific spot and has a starting weapon that is effective against dragons. And I mean that in the sense of there being other Emblems that also have later weapons that can be effective against dragons, but if you bought the DLC on launch and started it as soon as it was unlocked, you wouldn’t any of those Emblems or weapons unlocked yet.

And now we have “Dream well, Emblem of Dragons!” for the list.
