there are a lot of eps that I don't really find enjoyable but my least favs would be : S5 two parts finale, Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri, and ABC of beth (which is an unpopular opinion i think?)

in the family = Rick (but i don't hate him tho- I just hope the writers finally decide what they gonna do with him) in the show = pissmaster, for some reason, i really don't like him lol

One last thing before I try to sleep…

I think without those last scenes in Liz’s apartment I would be sitting here ranting about how sidelined and disconnected she is from the main plot. Certainly, all of those scenes with her and Heath and the dancing were boring AF and felt like wasted time. Except that I do actually think that we’ve gotten somewhere now thanks to the ending.

Someone said to me sometime in the past week: “Season 3 is damage control”. And I think there is some truth in that, although we never will know the truth about what happened behind the scenes. All we have is what happened onscreen. Narrative decisions were made in S2 that sidelined Liz and created the LA plot line. What I see in these past 4 episodes is the writers working to plausibly write Liz out of that mistake.

Episodes 1-2 allowed Liz to be angry. It was classic Liz Ortecho. Angry and running away from her home and her problems. Avoiding facing them. That came out in both her refusal to talk about home, her obsessive focus on her work, etc. But we also saw a Liz who couldn’t settle. A Liz who had been in LA for a year and refused to take action to make it feel like home. Only when the obsessive work collided with home, was she forced to look within and face the latter a bit. Once two of her most trusted confidants called her out (Episode 3), she realized that she couldn’t settle because Max wasn’t there with her. But when he shut her down, her reaction was back to classic Liz… run away.

But it didn’t feel right. She was forced to look within at herself and face the consequences of her S2 actions. And that didn’t go away when she returned to LA. Instead of throwing herself back into obsessively working, she found herself thinking about consequences of the present…and specifically, what she would be giving Genoryx access to if she continued her research.

So she spent a boring evening with Heath, as he told her all the things she needed to do to schmooze for Genoryx. He encouraged her to keep going. He offered to do it under the table - something she is more than familiar with having to do. And he took her dancing as a metaphor for how she needed to trust him. And it did the exact opposite.

Instead of following his lead, his words about giving in, about trusting others made her reflect on the people that she loves. The people she trusts. And the epiphany she had instead was that she wanted to fight for them, to be with them.

For the first time on the show Liz Ortecho actively decided that Roswell is where she wants her future to be.

This is that epiphany that Jeanine has been talking about in all of her interviews. No idea how the handprint craziness will affect things immediately next week, but regardless, this is the moment they’ve been working Liz towards for the past 4 episodes. Personal growth and a decision to fight for her people.

What I saw, in short, was a transition where I am now confident that Liz will be reintegrated back into the story. Not because she’s pulled in against her will, but because she chooses to be.

And I just love that they finally got her to this place.
