This is the HG GM Quel, which is supposedly an acronym "Qualified to Use Earthly Law". It's a 2007 kit which is mostly a remold of the 2005 HG Hazel Gundam. It's so the most effort I've put into color correcting a kit but I actually enjoyed that part more than the build. In universe its an evolution of the GM Custom and it's thought to be overall similar in design, but the 2 kits don't actually share any parts except the visor piece (same runner) and maybe the shield, even the rifle is a slightly different mold because it has a hold for a rectangular peg for the later HGUC hands. It's limited posing compared to modern kits, and slightly worse than the GM custom because it doesn't have double jointed legs. It also has that federation bullpup assault rifle that's inconvenient to pose with.
If anyone is curious, for color accuracy it doesn't have any red plastic so you would need to paint all the thrusters (backpack, legs, feet, butt), the shoulder vents (which the color varies for depending on the sources I looked at), the giant screw things on the sides of the knees and ankles, head vulcans and the yellow upper chest vent because I hate the sticker it came with.
I also learned the trick to paint the inside of the visor silver to get it to show under the light, but it doesn't show on camera. I also could have painted the collar area gray but after it showed up as black on the plastic I gave up on that.

The most important lesson I learned from this however is that if/when I invest in airbrush, the first color I want to use for a custom is Titans blue.

RGM-79Q GM Quel! As stated previously, I fuckin love GMs so much. It's not as good as Sleggar's GM but it's damn close.
Next up is Gundam Pharact!

I can’t stress enough just how much I love the Hazel as a design. This bad boy was definitely worth tracking down the old MG Quel and the very obscure Advance of Zeta Hazel head parts from Dengeki Hobby. Given how many extra decal stickers I’ve boarded over the years, it was easy enough to spice up an otherwise 21 year old kit.

The 4th GM of the week is one of my favourite design; I present to you the RGM-79Q Quel; I have repainted it to look like the GM Custom because I just not a fan of the Titians Blue. Please check out my updated blog and support me at https://itisagunpla.com/hg-rgm-79q-gm-quel/

By early UC0086, the the potential for transformable mobile suits was clear, and Anaheim Electronics seemed well on their way to developing transformable mobile suits of their own. The Earth Federation Forces, not wanting to be outdone by a private contractor, rushed a program into motion to create a prototype transformable mobile suit of their own.
Leveraging technical skills developed during the RX-107 TR-4 project, a relatively straightforward transformation scheme was developed, centering around a rigid structural spine housing the reactor, propellant storage, and main engines.
The first basic RX-115 “Ramack” prototype completed its first untethered transformation and test flight in November 0086, and the type was approved for a proofing run of three units for performance testing in early 0087.
To speed production, the RX-115 used a laminated titanium/ceramic armor compound and shared the RGM-79Q GM Quel’s power systems and actuators, though its reactor output was boosted to 1550 kW through higher I-field compression and higher coolant flow.
The trials carried out by the Titans Test Team with the first three RX-115 Ramack units informed the Earth Federation Forces’ operational and combat doctrine with transformable mobile suits, as the Ramack’s mobile armor form boasted substantially improved maneuverability and greater armor coverage than the mobile suit form, forcing test pilots to switch forms wisely to trade off between offensive and defensive strategies.
The first limited-production Ramack was not desired with any built-in weapons, but it rapidly became clear that the single beam rifle it was fielded with was insufficient, with limited offensive capabilities both in MA flight and MS combat. As such, the series was retrofitted with forearm-mounted beam emitters, which could function either as rapid-fire medium-range beam guns or close-range beam blade emitters. This was supplanted by a pair of beam sabers accessible in mobile suit form. The Ramack exhibited impressive combat abilities despite its weaknesses, and acquitted itself well in wargames against the GM Quel, demonstrating the benefits of combining MA maneuverability with MS aggression.
The Ramack ultimately proved to EFF tactical planners that transformable mobile suits had substantial tactical and strategic abilities, and paved the way for future models like the RX-110 Gabthley and RX-139 Hambrabi. Those models would feature more complex transformation mechanisms that minimized their vulnerabilities while maintaining structural stability, making the Ramack obsolete within two years of its release.
Two more technical development Ramacks would be produced, joining the existing three. The final one was subjected to destructive structural testing during research and development for the RX-110 Gabthley, while the other was fitted with areas of Gundarium alloy to improve its defensive capabilities, a change that was retrofitted to one more of the initial three before the program was shuttered and the production tooling decommissioned.
The remaining four Ramack units would be handed off to a peacekeeping wing of the EFSF, and saw some combat experience in skirmishes in one of the translunar colony clusters.

The HG RGM-79Q GM Quel Titans Mass Production Mobile Suit. In spite of the age of the HG Advance of Zeta kits, I have to say I really enjoy the build of the kits and the results. They have really good poseability and are very solid design. There is very little meed for color correction and you get some good weapons in the kit.

[12-11-2019] Finished building this 1/100 MG RGM-79Q GM QUEL. Old School MG from 1999 (I hate the hands on the older kits. They can't hold onto sh*t). I think I could one more before the year is over. RGM-140 Vadroc
As the Gryps Conflict came to a head, the Titans came to rely more and more upon high-performance mobile suits like the RX-139 Hambrabi to perform competitively in engagements with the AEUG’s own brand-new mobile suits. These Titans experimental units, like the RX-110 Gabthley, the Hambrabi, and the RX-140 Byarlant, exhibited stellar flight and combat performance, but imposed severe operational and deployment costs as well. These mobile suits were expensive to build and maintain, and demanding on pilots, requiring the best aces the Titans forces could offer in order to perform to their design specifications. The Titans leadership of course realized the superb technical advantage that mobile suits like these represented, and came to view their continued development as the key to Triumph against the AEUG and Karaba. With their masters breathing down their necks, the Titans’ mobile suit design wing came to view a truly mass production-ready successor to the Hambrabi and its ilk as the “silver bullet” that would fix not only their technical development woes but also beat back their opponents.
The new design would be powered by the Hambrabi’s 1540 kW ultracompact fusion reactor, and borrowed elements of that machine’s transformation mechanism and power systems. Other parts of the new machine, dubbed the RGM-140 Vadroc, would be derived from RGM-79Q GM Quel components. The Vadroc skated through a fast development period, due in part to its highly derivative mechanical design, but also because of existing test data from the Hambrabi development project, and only one pre-production Vadroc was ever produced before series production was greenlighted. Unfortunately for the Vadroc and its development team, this speedy engineering design process wasn’t speedy enough, and the RMS-154 Barzam was approved for series production first, and not only boasted a higher-powered reactor, but also lacked a transformation system, resulting in a simpler and cheaper frame despite its larger size and weight. Though the Vadroc was a more technically sophisticated mobile suit, with a simple and fast transformation scheme that maximized offensive and evasive capabilities, its survivability and unit cost were not competitive.
Despite this overwhelming defeat by the Barzam program, Vadroc series production somehow happened anyways (pundits suggest that internal nepotism was the cause). The RGM-140 Vadroc’s superior maneuverability and higher maximum acceleration (1.6 G to the Barzam’s 1.29 G) was enough to justify small-scale incorporation into spaceborne Titans regiments. Full-rate series production began in January 0088 UC, and 48 units were produced before the Vadroc production line at the Gate of Zedan arsenal was shut down in May 0088 in light of the Neo Zeon war and its demands on mobile suit production.
The RGM-140 Vadroc was typically deployed with the same beam rifle as the RMS-108 Marasai, and its offensive capabilities were augmented by a 4 MW beam rifle on the dorsal fuselage, as well as a pair of beam sabers stored in the side skirt armor. While forearm claws akin to those of the RX-139 Habrabi were included on the pre-production prototype, these were deleted to simplify the design, and because it was argued that such crude weapons were not tactically relevant in the changing, high-tech battlefield of the Gryps Conflict.
One RGM-140 Vadroc would be upgraded with improved maneuverability and combat capability in June 0088, and was designated RX-140. This unit would later be lost in action.
