both of the sims pirate githubs you linked are taken down. most likely for posting a pirate on GitHub, but i also - it doesn't do any favors to publicly advertise where to pirate things. i understand the enthusiasm, but please, please share these things directly to your friends. public lists of pirates/rom sites/etc are the fastest way to get them removed. i massively support the motion to archive and share games but please be more mindful about it

the repacks, that had been publicly linked on the sidebar of the huge sims subreddits for multiple years were taken down because of a tumblr post that didn’t even get as many notes as members on one of the sims subreddits. okay

also the sims 1 and the sims 2 were abandonware which means it was legal to share and host them. it wasn’t piracy. the only reason they’d be taken down now is because they’re no longer classed as abandonware due to the rereleases

it’s very foolish to think ea were not aware these things existed, and that somehow my tumblr post made ea aware. especially when both were also hosted on the extremely popular abandonware website myabandonware.com
