God I just fucking. I am so blown away when I watch any older movie. When they filmed on real sets and built elaborate props because cgi wasn’t an option. “Ohhh but you can tell it’s an animatronic it doesn’t even look reeaaallll” shut the hell your mouth. That is an actual physical thing that the actors could actually see and interact with. It is a billion times more “real” than the endless greenscreen bullshit you love so much.

I ended up listening to (so far) MAG 36 today, and one of those was the statement of Jane Prentiss. I'm pretty early in the show, but I've already got to the bit where Martin is now living in the institute and the worms are showing up there.

So in Jane Prentiss's statement, she talks about having a 'compulsion' to pick at her skin, and feeling this deep-seated itch in her body. And then also ofc the eventual worms in her corpse thing (idk but you know what I mean).

I have dermatillomania, definitely to the level described in the episode, and also to where I pretty much always have a number of open holes somewhere on my chest. It's been especially bad these last couple months, and at one point I had this really terrifying nightmare, in which I basically had a bunch of little bits of plastic in my face, and I had to get them out. At the end of the dream, my skin had been completely filled with miniscule holes, and basically just shredded up. Yuck. It was very disturbing.

So basically!!!!!! Basically. I found myself weirdly paralleling Jane Prentiss throughout her account, with the bits about dermatillomania, and like, loneliness(?)(but in a more normal way I promise), and also that 'itch' feeling, and how that sort of parallels how I often feel with certain OCD obsessions that I have.

There's just kind of a twisty web of interconnected themes, between actual dermatillomania and obsessions, conscious intrusive thoughts and unconscious anxieties (i.e. that dream etc), and the actual themes of Jane Prentiss's story (at least what I know so far by MAG 36)

I was planning on listening to TMA at work today, but for some reason every time I think about hitting play, one of my most vividly gruesome, TMA plot compatible dreams pushes itself into my head. So. Yay? Unpleasant.

Y'allllll I have a real dumb postal person and some reeaaallll honest neighbors because I couldn't find my five packages (😬) with my four special editions + signed cd, even though they said they were delivered by local postal service TO A MAIL LOCKER.

I triple checked with my husband that he didn't check the mail and that there was nothing at our door step.

Went back to the mail lockers at the end of the street to make sure I didn't miss a key in our box....something made me check the locker below our regular mail slot.

Tell me why ALLLL my CDs were in this (unlocked) locker. Mail person gave the key to someone else!!!!! I guess I'm glad I'm getting home late this week because of tech week so I was able to find the locker open with my packages inside??? Since the person didn't bother bringing them to me after realizing they weren't theirs???

sometimes you have to go for a bit of a scroll cause someone you follow is answering a lot of very heated asks in response to a selfie. and the selfie is fine. its a pretty person. but y'know i expected something reeaaallll slutty for all that talk. and its just chillin.

You're welcome! Well yea it could be a number of things, all those things are thighs that a doctor can help with. True, true. Sorry about all that smoke. If you need that walk, you can always gear up with a nice mask and goggles. Do what you gotta do. Consistency is a great thing, true! Ring fit is a potential good idea! But video games are reeaaallll easy to drop. Consider buying your self a pair of light weights, some bands, and maybe an exercise ball! Create a daily routine for yourself. Plus, using any one of those things can be used for a quick break from sitting down all day for your job, as opposed to setting up a video game.

True true! I got a couple of weights I should use more. Setting things up is always a pain. Even putting down my stretch mat demotivates me so hmmm easier work outs that dont require set up will probably help alot!
