I always make these so long XP, so there's a little bit of a personal experience under the cut

Ace means so much to me because when I was playing Reborn, I questioned whether I was nonbinary or not. No negative experiences, but I still felt dysphoric. Then, Adrienn and Ace roll along, and I'm like "well shit, that's me???" And it motivated me to eventually accept that!

Enby solidarity really goes a long way! Like, you yourself are such a big inspiration! You not only inspired me and my sister to start a tumblr (although for the past year, we've been on and off about activity), but you really motivated me to come out! (I have the best sister in the world! She accepted me and was there for my dysphoria.)

Sorry for rambling, but you and your characters, especially Ace, made me who I am today!! This felt so ethereal having YOU ask ME for a request! Like, I look up to you so so so much!!! I've been humbled!

My art did a complete 180 and I drew a lot this year. It’s always been hard for me to be proud of the things I make but I think I can say that I am genuinely proud of the art I made this year. I honestly didn’t think getting into Sleep Token would inspire me this much to start enjoying making art again.

So yesterday was my first day and it was really okay. I was extremely exhausted because spending eight hours listening to people talk about everything from the Romans to Indiana Jones was exhausting, and I was in bed by eight. Approaching my 1 year anniversary since posting en masse on the internet and it has revealed much. In short, I've gained: ✨ 200 combined followers between all my socials, some local, some far away ✨Have commissioned about 10 major art pieces that help demonstrate the different versions of the characters I'm portraying ✨Wrote (and yes, this is real) almost half a million words, not counting my prototype script that initially featured Lucifer and Eve. Based on hit count, that's 44 words per minute I type to get one view (which is fantastic, by the way, given I mostly do original, weird ass shit) AND ✨Have gained a collective amount of 1.2K views between my website, A03, and WattPad. I'm not even counting the responses to my Angel quiz or the Spotify playlists I've made!

I'm not pretending I'm the most popular, I just hope to be consistent in what I do. And, since I have, you as the audience have kindly shown me what you respond well to. Sometimes a thing I write that I think is a 'throwaway' gets way more hits than I expected. Then, even with fanfic-related content tied to another plotline like Hazbin or Lucifer (TV), you show your strong interest in what I have to say while getting that lovely dose of Michael/Lucifer we're all in need of since Supernatural is now a decade out.

Really, all I have to say is that it means the world to me that you even wanted to click on a post and read it, even if it's just 2 seconds. Those 2 seconds do more than you realize, which is partly why I won't give up doing what I'm doing. I just hope to evolve it and engage in great conversation with you about what these 'characters' mean to you when the world is coming down to its last lifeline.

I woke up with a ball of anxiety in my gut at 4am which didn’t go away, despite going back to sleep. Had a dream I can’t recall now, but I woke up from it tense, thinking ‘well, I’m glad that was just a dream.’ I had to go to the supermarket - overwhelmed as always by the sensory excess of all the noise added to the social anxiety - an amazing time. Had to rush away from the the fridges crying, having witnessed a very elderly lady being helped with her shopping by a carer - reminded of mortality, or my grandmothers already lost, or both.

I got home and just curled up in the sun in my backyard for a while, feeling utterly wrecked.

But into this mental landscape came an urge - so I opened up AO3 and started reading - after months of being unable to really engage with fiction (which happens a lot) I read and I read and I was taken somewhere else, somewhere better - out of my head, out of my own overload.

I share all this here not with self-pity or asking for pity from y’all - the gods know this is just my life and it is what it is - but to say to all you fanfic writers out there:

Thank you. You are truly a blessing. Your stories are incredibly valuable. You never know when your words may be the thing to drag someone out of a shitty headspace or worse.

Keep writing. Keep publishing. Ignore the numbers. You’ll never know how valuable your contribution is.
