summary: lando overshoots an overtake, and you go off the track. what then ensues is the most stressful and awful 3 hours of his life.

He overshot it, and you were off the track. 

“Fuck!” he screamed, looking in his mirrors. “Is she ok?” 

“Red flag, red flag! No info yet Lando, keep going-”

“Is she getting out of the fucking car?!” he screamed. Everything was too much, too fast, too difficult. Every single person in the stands was silent, or maybe his brain was just filtering it out. He couldn’t hear anything, just his own voice, his own breath, and the beat of his own heart in his ears. He needed information, he needed to know that you were walking out of the car. He needed to know you weren’t dead. He needed to know if he still had a fiancé. It was bad. He knew it was bad. It was the third lap of the fucking Sprint. 

“No info-”

“Don’t give me that shit! Is she getting out of the car?!” 

“She is exiting the car, yes.”

And fuck, Lando could breathe again. 

“Assisted,” Will added and his heart dropped. “They’re stopping the session, bring it back to the pits.” 

Lando screamed. As he slowly drove towards the pits, he could feel the eyes on him. The drivers, the media, the fans. All of them wondered the same thing as him. Had he really fucked everything in his life up? 

He parked in his own garage and ran out to the RedBull garage, needing more information than anyone was willing to give him. 

“What is going on?” he demanded of your race engineer, Ryan. 

Ryan sighed. “Have you seen the footage yet?” 

“Don’t show it to him!” Christian demanded, crossing the garage to get to him. “You shouldn’t be here, get out of my garage.”

“She’s my fucking fiancé, if I want information, I’m getting it Christian.”

“You’re the one who fucking killed her!” he screamed. 

The garage went quiet. Lando’s heart rate sped up, his eyes glossed over. He couldn’t have lost you. He didn’t lose you. He refused. He became so much more aware of everything around him, the dead silence in the garage, the way everyone else’s eyes were wide, or subdued. The way Max stilled. The way Christian just stared at him. The way everyone stopped breathing. He could feel every inch of his race suit on his skin, he could feel every curl on top of his head, every bead of sweat that fell from his skin. He took a deep breath. 

“She’s gone?” he asked in a broken whisper, looking at Ryan. Ryan looked down. 

“They got her back!” Henry, your lead mechanic screamed, informing the entire garage that you in fact, were alive. “She’s breathing, she’s awake!” 

There was a collective sigh of relief. With the aid of Max, Christian backed off enough to allow Lando to see the footage and hear the whole story. 

He watched in horror as the front left of his McLaren hit the back right of your RB and sent you flying. Somehow, you’d become airborne and flipped 8 times. 8 times. He counted it. The car hit into the barriers, and it split. 

You didn’t move. The cameras turned away. The marshals ran. George ran on, his car had been hit with debris, the same for Franco, Liam, and Alex. They ran over, trying desperately to help you out. George and Liam carried you over to the ambulance. You were limp. Unresponsive.

“She died for 3 minutes,” Ryan explained, a sombre tone in his voice. “She’s on her way to the hospital now.” 

He looked down, the tears flowing freely. You had died. For 3 whole minutes, you were gone. 

“We think it was the impact of the spinning, and then hitting into the barriers. And… her Hans device was faulty. It wasn’t put on properly, and it came off during the first spin.”

“What about the halo?” he asked. 

“It was crushed in the flips. She took the full impact of the last two with no Hans deivce. It was a miracle she didn't break her neck.” 

He felt like he’d been slapped. 

“We’ll get a car ready for you now. She’ll want to see you,” he explained, wrapping an arm around Lando and bringing him out into the paddock. Ryan, Max, and Henry shielded him from the prying eyes of the media, and got him into a car to the hospital. 

What then ensued was the longest car ride of his life. Sao Paulo traffic was awful on a good day, but fuck. This was excruciating. What was worse was the inner turmoil he was dealing with. Would you ever want to see him? Would you leave him after this? Was this the end? Would you ever get back into an F1 car?

When he finally made it to the hospital, he was rushed to the ICU, walking behind a nurse. 

“She’s in a stable condition, and she’s awake. She’s been asking for you,” she explained and a weight was lifted off his shoulders. You wanted to see him. You asked to see him. 

He turned the corner into your room and he met your eyes. Bloodshot, with a burst blood vessel in one of them. You were bruised and broken, too many casts to count. 

“Lando,” you smiled.

You smiled. 

He rushed over to your side, sitting in the seat at the side of your bed. “I’m here.” 

Your eyes were welling up in tears. “I wanted to see you before I left the track but they said I had to go,” you explained. “This isn’t your fault Lan. It was a racing accident. It was a mistake.” 

He stared at you for a moment. How was it that you could sit there, in pain, traumatised, and comfort him? If he was a better man, he probably would’ve told you it was his fault, and not start crying at your kind words. 

He started tearing up, bowing his head as to stop you seeing. “I don't deserve you.” 

“You do,” you whispered, cupping his cheek. “You do, Lan. You’re here. I know you, and I know you’ve been beating yourself up for the last 3 hours. You didn’t kill me. I’m still alive.” 

“I killed you for 3 minutes,” he croaked out. 

“Racing killed me for 3 minutes. My defence killed me for 3 minutes. My ego killed me for 3 minutes. It wasn’t you, Lando. I turned into you, I’ve watched the footage,” you assured him. “Don’t blame yourself. I don’t.” 

“I’m so sorry,” he whimpered, wrapping his arms around you carefully. 

“I’m ok,” you whispered. “You're ok. It’s ok.” 

You both knew it would take some time to get over this, but you knew you’d do it together. That was the important part.

summary: in witch aria won't let oscar's first win be ruined.

warnings: fluff all the way down!!!!! this is all fiction and i mean no hate towards lando, i'm a mclaren fan and like both their drivers. swearing, english is not my first language, had to sacrifice lewis 200th win for this.

"Oscar Piastri, P1! Oh my god! Always on my way!" Aria jumps in excitement as she enters the cool-down room, a cold towel around her neck as she smiles at the Aussie.

They are good friends; physically close, yes, but always professional and caring towards each other. Two rookies from the 2023 season, they've been racing each other since their earlier categories.

"It's my first job ever, you know." he chuckles softly, with a small shrug and a strange tension in the air as he approaches. "Good race to you too! I saw Babybull in my rearview the whole time."

"I’ve got to keep the pressure up," she jokes, wrapping her arms around his waist as he hugs her over the shoulders, playfully. "What happened? Is the car okay?"

"Yeah. Just team stuff." He shrugs again. "We’ll talk later."

And then it hits. A furious Lando Norris storms into the room, a frown on his face as he throws his Pirelli cap on the floor, his helmet making a loud noise as it hits the surface.

"Yeah, you guys surely can talk later." the Brit growls. "Good race, you guys."

"Would’ve liked your place, but yeah." Aria teases, something she often does.

Even a grumpy Max Verstappen on his worst radio days would crack a smile around her in the paddock. But not today, not the race vice-winner.

"Maybe if you asked... I was really supposed to give in. It'd be no news."

"Lando had to give me the position on the last lap." Oscar explains, trying to ease the tension and stop the sarcasm. "The team messed up."

"Oh— Yeah, that’s tough, guys." She sighs, now sitting down in her third-place chair, exchanging glances with the papaya boys. "I’m sorry. But hey! Double podium! Double the points, double the reason to celebrate!" Aria tries to lighten the mood, as the three of them now watch the race highlights on the big screen.

"Don’t act like Babybull and Madmax haven’t done this too many times."

Aria gets it. It’s a fucked-up feeling; swapping spots so late in the race might feel like a P20, it might be terrible. She usually gets along very well with both McLaren drivers, and that’s probably why she’s a bit surprised by the harsh tone in the older boy's voice.

Even the “Babybull” nickname feels off. She was given that name after winning her first race in her rookie year, driving for Red Bull and crying like a baby. Both RB drivers were together in an interview when Max jokingly called her a "baby driving a fast car." The name stuck.

"Never too many." she decides to let the conversation fade, trying to catch Oscar's eyes but failing.

The train of thought has its chance to choo-choo along until they’re getting ready for the podium.

She knows the Aussie driver well enough. He might be feeling terrible, and doesn’t even need to hear the whole situation to feel like the worst teammate in the world. Her head tilts up when she sees her engineer, as the winning trio walks up to the trophy ceremony, their bond strong enough that he knows what she wants to know, even from a distance as they prepare the backstage for the podium.

"Piastri had the lead, they messed up the pit call and Norris stayed out with the lead." the older guy explains, his lips moving just enough for her to read them. They had people in the way, so she has to use a bit if effort to understand. "They told him to switch, he didn’t want to. Obviously. Obviously. It took time to convince him, almost went downhill."

Her mouth forms a perfect "O" before the staff calls her up for the trophy. Aria could already think it was something like this. Mclaren been fooling around with their team decision and even though Oscar is just too polite when talking about it, she did hear some complains. This box call thing is a recurring issue, she listened to him talking about it and could notice the papaya cars having this problem during the races.

Minutes later, Norris is popping the champagne like he hasn’t in the past few races, while Aria’s mind holds her still for the papaya boys to celebrate their double podium. She slowly sets her trophy away from the chaos the area might become, looking at the center of the podium as nothing big happens. No big celebrations, just Oscar holding his trophy while Lando sprays the champagne with force, as he usually does, even if he hasn’t been in the mood for it in recent weeks.

Then Norris heads to spray the cheering crowd, leaving her best friend to celebrate alone. — Of course, if Aria wasn’t there. Her bottle spilling alcohol for a few seconds before she throws it towards Oscar, yelling a loud "2000s for the win!" and laughing as the boy is caught by surprise.

"You’re ridiculous." he jokes, spraying the liquid on her as they start to chase each other like two kids on a playground; their playground, the Hungarian podium of the Formula One championship.

For a while, the guilt and angst Oscar feels over such a controversial win can fade away, and that’s the thing about his friend, or whatever they don’t mind being called.

She is a stream of light — that’s what she does to people in her orbit. The boy is now grinning from ear to ear, finally celebrating his win, something he almost felt he didn’t deserve.

"Future’s looking bright, huh?" She sets the bottle down as they wave a last goodbye to the crowd. "I like sharing this life with you."

Osc nods, a few seconds delayed before he lets his eyes meet his friend's.

It really is like sharing a life; they’re around each other all the time, prefer eating in the common areas in the paddock just so they can have lunch together. They know each other’s parents, celebrate each other’s wins, and visit each other’s hotel rooms late at night. Physical intimacy, it might be happening tonight.

"Yeah, me too," he says, smiling, soaked in champagne, his hair hidden under his cap, his eyes squinting in the sun. "Thank you."

"For what?" Aria chuckles as they’re called off the podium.

"You know what for. I’m lucky to have you."

"We’re lucky to have each other."

Have some things to add here I think (on the official games side, idk anything about fangame stuff lol), Mania Plus and Unleashed are both excellent games but they're ones I personally would suggest waiting a bit on before playing. Unleashed because its pretty difficult and punishing compared to Generations, and Mania because its way way way more fun to play if you've played the original 90s Sonic games (otherwise called "Classic" Sonic). You can play all of these games in the Sonic Origins collection very easily!

Also, of course, the obligatory mention of how "Sonic Unleashed" is actually two different games made by two different teams - Xbox 360/PS3 is one game, Wii/PS2 is another. They have the same story and locations and so on, but the game design is completely different! Please play the Xbox 360/PS3 version when you get to it and just sort of think of the Wii/PS2 "supplemental".

I didn't either! Just find something that interests you and go for it, it has a little something for everyone. There's no need to consume anything specific or in any order; even if it's fan projects, I'm sure you can find something that interests you if you wanna get into it!

The Golden Age of Japanese Talent in Western Motorsports

So, the heavy rumor at this point in F1 is that Sergio Perez's position at Red Bull has become untenable. An expensive release clause and a lack of a clear alternative has protected Perez for awhile now, but a truly dismal end to the 2024 season has meant Red Bull is willing to pay the price to get rid of him.

Not unlike McLaren with Daniel Ricciardo in 2022.

So, who is getting the nod to Red Bull?

Liam Lawson, it seems. This has pissed off a lot of fans, who feel that Yuki Tsunoda has performed well enough and has spent enough time at Alpha Tauri/VCARB to earn a chance at Red Bull.

Red Bull feels otherwise, and it seems to be because Yuki Tsunoda is at RB as a favor to engine supplier Honda, and Red Bull does not see Tsunoda continuing with them once they switch to Ford.

This got me thinking about Japanese drivers in motorsports, western motorsports in particular. I know that sounds just a bit orientalist and I apologize for that, but a variety of cultural, linguistic, and geographic factors have created a lot of barriers for Japanese drivers to come over here.

Japanese talent instead seems to focus on domestic competitions: Super Formula, Super GT, the Suzuka 8 Hour, etc, etc.

Meanwhile, Japanese talent in the west is most often associated with a Japanese manufacturer. This is what I want to talk about today.

An early prominent example of this is Satoru Nakajima, who Honda tried to put in a Williams in 1986. Frank Williams refused, reasoning that Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell was a much stronger lineup. Thus, Honda went to their other customer team in Lotus, and Nakajima was put into the car in 1987, partnering Ayrton Senna.

Ayrton won two races and finished third in the standings.

Satoru Nakajima - nor Aguri Suzuki, who also appeared in F1 around this time - didn't accomplish much, but they did pave the way for the 1990s, which would turn out to be a golden age for Japanese drivers in western motorsports.

On the Formula One side of things, we had Nakajima, Suzuki, Naoki Hattori, Ukyo Katayama, Toshio Suzuki (no relation), Hideki Noda, Taki Inoue, Shinji Nakano, and Toranosuke Takagi all made appearances.

A number of these guys, most prominently Shinji Nakano and Tora Takagi, would also make appearances in CART, where Honda and Toyota were engine suppliers.

The racing series where Japanese talent shined brightest, however, was Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing, now known as MotoGP. Here, Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki made sure that Japanese manufacturers were well represented, and the 1997 season is probably the best example of that.

Australian Mick Doohan was dominant, yes, but behind him...the Japanese were all over the series. Teammate Tadayuki Okada won the Indonesian Grand Prix and finished second in the championship, whilst Takuma Aoki on a Repsol Honda entered NSR500V - a cheaper V2 variant of the V4 NSR500, meant for customer teams - finished fifth with three podiums.

Takuma's brother, Nobuatsu Aoki was third on another V4 Honda, taking four podiums and managing to just barely finish ahead of Repsol's Alex Crivillé, who was hampered by a midseason injury.

It wasn't limited to just Honda either, as Yamaha had the famous Norifumi Abe, who won three races himself - the 1996 Japanese GP at Suzuki, the 1999 Rio de Janeiro GP at Jacarepaguá, and then the 2000 Japanese GP, also at Suzuka - but was more known for wild and aggressive performances.

Norifumi was so famous at this point that a young Valentino Rossi used Rossifumi as his first nickname.

Before there was the Doctor, there was Rossifumi.

So yeah, in 1997, there were four Japanese riders in the top ten of the championship, and while none of them could quite match Mick Doohan, neither could anyone else back then.

So, what happened to all this?

That's the difficult question really. My first thought was that maybe it was the switch from 500cc bikes to the 990cc bikes of the MotoGP era. Perhaps the increased cost and professionalization of the grid reduced the number of Japanese riders.

The problem is that it doesn't quite hold true. Daijiro Kato in 2002 was shaping up to be the best Japanese prospect perhaps ever, before his career was cut short by a tragic death at the 2003 Japanese Grand Prix.

Did that death kill the Japanese stomach for motorcycle racing? I mean, maybe, but it sure didn't in the moment.

Abe was still around, as were Tohru Ukawa and Noriyuki Haga, while Shinya Nakano spent the mid-2000s dragging his Kawasaki into contention whenever he could, and Makoto Tamada won at Rio and Motegi in 2004 on the Camel Honda, giving us the first multi-win season for a Japanese rider.

It more just seemed to fade out over the course of the 2000s.

By the 2010s, Japanese participation in MotoGP was reduced to one satellite Honda rider and then maybe a wildcard ride or two from the Yamaha or Suzuki test teams at Motegi.

By the 2020s, that rider was Taka Nakagami, but for 2025, that seems to be changing.

The Idemitsu LCR Honda - the Honda reserved for Asian talent - will go to Thai rider Somkiat Chantra. Surprisingly though, this does not mean the end to a Japanese rider on the grid, as Ai Ogura has been signed by Trackhouse to ride an Aprilia.

This is a big deal, because it marks the first time in twenty years that a Japanese rider was picked entirely on merit, having denied a chance to go to LCR Honda to stay in Moto2 and prove himself.

And prove himself he did, because Ai Ogura won three races and the Moto2 championship in 2024. These wins were at Catalunya, Assen, and Misano too, so these are classic European venues.

He's not just a Suzuka/Motegi specialist, he might just be the real deal.

YOU HAD FINALLY WON IT ALL, the Monaco Grand Prix final wasn’t an easy track to complete, nonetheless you finished in the quickest time with only a few mishaps along the way. If you were being brutally honest to yourself, your ears were ringing with the words of your race engineer. “You’re P1, P1,” he repeated, your head echoing with it so much so that you zoned out the cheers and congratulations of people coming up to you, fans, teammates, and opponents; you could barely hear them, it was as if you had headphones in blasting music, you were only able to attempt to lipread them smile and nod as if you understood a word they were saying in your world of silence.

The ringing in your ears finally commenced and sunk back to roars and cheers of your name, chanting it like a mantra. You took your helmet off and pulled your hair out the suit, waving to fans and grinning, it hadn’t properly sunk in for you that you had won, you beat everyone, you were first place, people were screaming your name and throwing scarves, balloons, miniature figures, flowers, and chocolates towards you from their fenced off area. You needed time to think it over and properly reinforce the fact in your head that you won it all, but you didn’t get that. Instead you were ushered up and towards the finishing podium, helmet held between both hands as if you were cradling a baby.

The climb up to the winners’ podium was intense, it was as if you were living life in slow motion, your ears now pricked up and breathing heavily. Either side of you were second and third place respectively, giving you a curt nod, likely appreciating their own close finishing time against yours with a grain of salt. You raised your head, facing forward on the podium, trophy and champagne in either hand with a grin up to your ears. You felt like you wanted to scream, there was a squeak in your throat that tingled and you wanted to let it out; let out your excitement, let out your inner feelings and hardships that went into this win.

You did. You raised the trophy in both hands, yelling at the top of your lungs, but mostly being blurred out by the crowd roaring with you; spraying the champagne, people beside you smiling to themselves and stepping away slightly to avoid the soapy liquid. You had your time to celebrate, and you were sure it would finally hit you when you left the ceremony and the race entirely — just to return to your hotel, or if possibly your house, somehow catch a plane and go home — but your mind was still warped trying to understand what you had accomplished.

With a glass of champagne in hand you said your toasts to the race engineer communicating with you throughout the race, of course, and all the behind-the-scenes individuals who helped you finally get what you well and truly deserved. Then retired, making your way to the exit until an individual who you recognised from media events, not just with F1 but many other sports, football being one of them, approached you. She was tailed closely behind by a much taller man, whom she was tiny in comparison to, and yet his hands were fumbling against each other.

You looked up, half in confusion, half-grinning; maybe it was the champagne getting you tipsy, or the raw feeling of victory finally overtaking you and coming over your senses, moreso the champagne. “Hello and congratulations on the win, Ms. Ramirez!” you have her a polite smile in return and an appreciative nod. “Thank you, thank you. It hasn’t really kicked in yet, I can't believe I’ve actually done it.” She laughed and you placed your champagne glass on a table near you, the man still hovering behind her and darting his eyes around anywhere but with yours.

“Bet that champagne has though,” you scoffed, chuckling alongside her and nodding admittingly. “Yeah, yeah.” She paused momentarily, looking behind her and up at the man and you questioned in that one instance whether she had come to introduce him or he was just waiting in line to speak to you, or something like that. It seemed egotistical, but you had just won the Grand Prix. You would have done the same with drivers you looked up to in your time, you’re sure. She then moved out the way, just to the side, and he eventually seemed to get the message, slowly shifting so they were side to side and you half expected them to break out into song and dance, but he just shyly stuck his hand out.

You shook it, albeit the action was a bit foreign to you due to how old-fashioned it may seem and how informal the event was, but you did so gratefully nonetheless. He coughed, clearing his throat and you watched his face. “Very nice to meet you,” he was still shaking your hand, you smiled at him. “Thank you,” you let go of his hand and stepped back courteously, the woman next to him unmoving, and he retracted back as if she was his cue.

“Do you watch football?” she asked, you shrugged. “Sometimes, if it’s on.” She nodded. “What team do you support?” you hummed in thought, your mind not settling on one clear answer, it had been a long time since you had watched football, all your time recently had been spent trying to win the Grand Prix. Now that you have done it, maybe you should start watching it more. “Arsenal,” you finally replied. The man sucked in his cheeks, grimacing and she chuckled next to him.

“This man here plays for Manchester City, have you heard of Haaland?” your eyes widened, nodding as if memory of him was coming back to you. “Ah, yeah, yeah. I’ve heard of you before,” you smiled at him, he grinned back with all teeth on display. “We’re rivals then, yeah?” you laughed, trying to ease the tension or awkwardness he was seemingly repressing due to his tensed position. “Do you wanna sit down?” you asked him, brown knit tightly together. 

“Lovely meeting you,” the woman shook your hand gracefully with a curt smile, and then left, likely introducing more players; maybe this was all just one scheme to get athletes from different professions to collaborate together. You had seen Sky Sports do it, maybe she worked for them. 

“Good job on the win,” he said, looking at you from across the table. “I know you’re probably gonna hear it for the next three weeks, but you deserved it, best one there for sure.” You scoffed, laughing and grinning at him. “Yeah, that’s why I won. Thanks,” he shrugged, his compliment maybe not having the desired effect he originally wanted to achieve. Maybe you shouldn’t be so harsh on him, he was clearly a bit anxious despite his stature suggesting otherwise. “What’s your name?” you questioned, the corners of your eyes crinkling up as you spoke to him, smiling.

You had both exchanged surnames, not on a personal level, just by the fact the woman from earlier had introduced him to you and the fact that he had come to an event where your name was now plastered against every electric board, podium, and banner in every square mile. “Erling, you?” you took a sip of your champagne, placing it back down.

“Sara.” He nodded at your name, tucking his bottom lip in. “Suits you,” you furrowed your brows. “Yeah?” he now scoffed, he was just trying to be polite. You simply laughed it off, waving a hand at him and then sticking one up in the air as a gesture for a waiter to come over.

“Can I have champagne for him, please?” Erling shook his head and you frowned. “I don’t drink.” You pouted. “Just one f’me then, please,” you chuckled, staring at the half-full glass in front of you and downing it while the waiter walked off. “Why don’t you drink? Football get in the way?” he nodded. 

“You should support Manchester City instead,” he directed, sounding something between a question and an order. Moreso a question with the way his anxious eyes were betraying him; you almost laughed. “Why? ‘Cause I like Arsenal?” he shook his head. “No, because I’m in it,” you rolled your eyes, grinning until you heard your name being called out.

“Ramirez, your Uber’s here,” thank god, you stood up and went to shake Erling’s hand in response to him doing it earlier, but his hands fumbled with yours and you just went in for a hug, trying to tightly wrap your arms around this bear of a man. He huffed lightly, hands wrapped around your shoulders. “Thanks for meeting me,” you nodded, smiling at him. 

Upon pushing yourself through the crowd and to the exit you felt something against your jean pockets, assuming it was just someone bumping into you; as you turned round and no one was immediately a prime suspect to you, even Erling, now gone, disappeared from his original spot. Once you had finally reached the Uber you gave the man who called your name a friendly pat on the shoulder and a quick hug, and then went into the car, directions already taken care of.

The journey back to your hotel room wasn’t too long, it was probably just the intensity of the whole day and the fact it was getting darker now, that made you tired. Maybe it’s the tiredness that didn’t help you see the note stuffed in your pocket, only realising when you got off your seat in the Uber and it fell out when you were leaving the car.

A phone number, this could’ve been anyone’s, that’s probably what happened when you felt something prodding against your pocket. You scoffed, lightly chuckling to yourself at the audacity of some people, and, sitting down in your hotel room, typed the digits out.

“Who’s this?” you questioned over text. “Erling.”

Can't believe we're living a real life SocMed Universe, delivered directly from RBR's team. When you're in a "Pushing The Lestappen Agenda" race and your competition is RBR...

red bull is really funny as a social brand because you can tell something is going on behind the scenes. like the clear push of daniel on RBR socials before COTA, or the charles sneaks during charles' anti-ferrari-rebel period.

now, what i found interesting, is that they seemed to post charles for 3 days in a row now (the only charles break they got was announcement of their car launch for 2024). they seem to be especially hyping up the charles/max rivarly on track and friendship in the paddock.

daniel, their third driver, however, was last posted on their instagram a week ago. he isn't really featured lately, they seem to be going for throwbacks with seb instead. last time they posted daniel on tiktok was 18 days ago.

clearly, there's a pattern. one could argue that they're posting charles purely bc his posts perform well. and sure, that's something that mercedes is doing from time to time.

BUT, they seem to post charles/max as a duo rather than throwbacks between daniel/max as of late. again, daniel and max were a beloved duo by fans and always performs well. lately, however, they lean more towards charles/max. clearly, they could be posting on track battles with other drivers that do well on social, like lando or fernando. but no, charles seems to be their driver of choice.

i could also go on about daniel's social presence which is lately kinda nonexistent. that makes him then less marketable and less approachable by the newer fans who don't remember his RB prime.

and i checked, daniel, indeed, was active on linkedin 2 days ago. how would linkedin benefit his PR? who the hell knows lol. it's more like a joke that people are getitng daniel notifs from linkedin comments lol.

so yeah, it's definitely interesting to see how RBR is currently moving online and i'll be on a lookout to see if the pattern once again changes
