Uno de los lugares con mejores y más completas panorámicas de Buenos Aires es el ICBC Edificio Madero, también conocido como la torre Madero Office.

Se trata de un rascacielos de la empresa desarrolladora de inmuebles RAGHSA, que se encuentra en el extremo del dique 4 en el barrio de Puerto Madero y tiene una altura máxima de 140 metros.

Aunque en un comienzo había proyectado un edificio de viviendas, se definió por las oficinas para alquiler, y el proyecto diseñado por el estudio de Mario Roberto Álvarez estuvo listo a fines de 2007.

Las obras comenzaron a mediados de 2008 y el edificio fue inaugurado en marzo de 2011.

Es uno de los últimos edificios diseñados por Álvarez antes de su fallecimiento.

El cuerpo central, donde se ubican las oficinas, desde el piso 2 hasta el 27, está recubierto en ambos lados por un muro cortina vidriado cuya modulación coincide con la de la planta libre.

En los pisos 1, 2 y 5 al 15 están las oficinas del banco ICBC Argentina, que el 2 de julio me invitó a celebrar el día del periodista con una idea original: ver el eclipse total del Sol desde este mirador privilegiado.

La actividad se desarrolló en un salón de reuniones en el piso 15, donde se entregaron anteojos especiales para observar el eclipse.

Desde ese ventanal que mira al norte fotografié con un teléfono móvil Motorola Moto One Vision la dársena norte, el puerto nuevo y la zona de Catalinas Norte.

Debido a una entrevista pactada con anterioridad y que no podía postergar, tuve que retirarme antes del eclipse, pero demoré unos pocos minutos para ir a la sala de reunión del directorio del banco.

Allí hay un cuadro con camisetas de los seleccionados argentinos de fútbol, rugby y otros deportes de los cuales el banco es uno de los principales esponsors.

Sin embargo, el principal atractivo no son las camisetas sino la increíble vista de la reserva ecológica de Costanera Sur, Puerto Madero y el centro porteño.

Una pena que este edificio no tenga un bar o un restaurante en uno de sus pisos o en una terraza para disfrutar estas panorámicas, como ocurre en otras grandes ciudades del mundo.
