QSMP WITCH HAT ATELIER! AU

HIII i have this idea for this AU for a loong time ago, and i'll keeping developing the characters to fit in this concept!

SO, this AU is centrified in Tallulah and her strange family bloodline, she's the principal protagonist, alongside with other characters that i will think of (probably Richarlyson, Cellbit and Quackity).

Tallulah is daughter of Wilbur, and his apprentice. He's a traveller bard and a music teacher for the pointy hat studants. Wilbur decided to leave his home to raise his daughter far from the danger, trying to give her a normal live. But, one day, dark spots appeared across Tallulah's body, which not long later turned out to be forbidden magic.

And this magic slowly drained Tallulah's health, even causing her to develop asthma. Wilbur despaired of that meaning, that connection that he had tried to sever for a long time, but it seemed to haunt him, he decides to return to his old home... The brim hats' hideout, and meet the gang leader for the first time in a while, his father, Philza.

Basically, the story is about Tallulah living a double life of being an outlaw and trying to live the life of a regular citizen, and dealing with the weight of having a family that is condemned by society while trying to fit in and also while trying to deal with his father, so overprotective and present, but sometimes very distant and who keeps many secrets

CHARACTER DESIGN EXPLAINATION:

•WILBUR: He's a teacher and a bard. I gave him pointy ears because I wanted to make it clear that he's "not like other witches", and he often tries to hide them. Wilbur in this universe is like a metaphor for those who are ashamed of their origins and culture, because it's not socially accepted and you try to fit in society to have a place to fit, but forget to embrace who you are. I also made his cape have a lot of patches, references to most of the designs I see from q!Wilbur. In this au, he plays Oud! Also, yes. In this universe, tntduo is canon (but in a slowburn way)

•TALLULAH: Wilbur daughter and apprentice! She never knew her origins until the forbidden magic manifested in her body, and unlike her father, she is very interested in the ideals and who the Brimmed Hats really are. She also attends another school with her friends, one where Quackity teaches. She is half deaf, and plays the flute very well. She is very attached to Phil and her uncle Chayanne.

PHILZA: Father of Wilbur and Chayanne, and also the leader of the brimmed hat gang. Philza is also known as "The Sweeping Angel", and he masters the forbidden magic of metamorphosis (being able to take on the appearance of a giant crow), time and death. He loves Wilbur very much, but is against his closed thoughts about fitting socially into the standards of magic dictated by the wise men (which in this universe, is The Federation). Philza wants to teach Tallulah everything he knows about magic, but at the same time, he doesn't want this to distance him from his son again. He is being actively hunted by the "federation". He is married to Missa!

•CHAYANNE: Son of Missa and Philza, also half brother of Wilbur. Chayanne is very dismissive of Wilbur's behavior, which causes them to always fight. Chayanne tries to kick him out almost every time he enters the brimmed hats' hideout, claiming he is a traitor. But deep down, Chayanne loves him and would be the first to raise his sword if anyone has anything against Wilbur's sake. He sees Tallulah as his little sister, and tries to teach her everything he knows about the origins of brimmed hats without Wilbur knowing, meanwhile he tries to help Tallulah with her conddition. Chayanne's forbidden magic is the ability to transform into a dragon (metamorphosis)

•JAIDEN: Brimmed hat! Jaiden used to be a pointy hat as well as a Kinight Moralis until she lost her son at the hands of the "federation". She then turned to the brimmed hat witches to help bring her son back to life. Philza then offers a deal: He would teach the arts of forbidden magic, but Jaiden would have to abandon her old life so that she and the other witches would not be at risk, and help to overthrow the federation (which means betraying her home). Jaiden then left her partner behind and disappeared, with the promise that she would bring their son back. Jaiden has the forbidden magic of manipulation and hybridity, she can manipulate her tattoos to gain shape and life, and she can fuse with any animal and take their abilities (she often does this with birds). Unfortunately, Jaiden isn't aware that her platonic partner has moved on and has a new life built. But wherever they are, they will always be praying for each other's well-being, as they are both very fragile. But at the same time, she is in doubt

BBH: I haven't worked out much for him yet, sorry chat :( But he is also a brimmed hat witch, but often opposes the leader's ideas. He doesn't have a physical form either, being made only of shadows. He also has a son, who is also his apprentice!

POMME: New recruit to the Knight Moralis (which are the french people!) She's basically like a daughter to them, especially to Etoiles and Baguera, who tend to spoil her a lot. She is quite brave and tenacious. She is Richarlyson and Tallulah's best friend!

RICHARLYSON: Son of MANY parents, he has a huge family and is a member of royalty. He is the son of King Forever! He is also one of Quackity's students (and also his son). Richarlyson is currently being treated to deal with a curse of forbidden magic placed on him. Because he is the son of the king, the federation is completely aware of the situation and helps in finding antibiotics and medical specialists, but it's all pointless. Richarlyson developed premonitions and visions of the past, which he express through art. Richas has no idea of his ability, as he does all this sleepwalking. I like to think his cape was designed by himself sleepwalking. He has no idea what it means, but he likes it!

Dream’s face reveal is hyped up for two seasons and it’s baited that he’s Tommy’s father.

Sam is green horse. Not a creeper hybrid just a green horse with spots that randomly turns into a shirtless human man for reasons.

Quackity sleeps with Ponk, he and Sam fight about it and it’s never brought up after that episode.

Karlnapity also magically heals Quackity’s trauma and they are the perfect couple until they suddenly ignore him for reasons.

Sam makes a tik tok in prison.

Tommy wears Nike in an obvious product placement.

Wilbur has PTSD from the Independence war for one episode and then it’s magically healed by Niki telling him it’s not his fault people died. (This is her entire character arc for season 1)

C!Foolish is a hahaha silly himbo.

Quackity wears a dump him shirt into prison.

Tommy is so jealous of Ranboo and Tubbo he tries to fight Ranboo

Techno is a literal pig. He turns into a man sometimes tho.

The writers want Sam to only have one life left after Dream kills him so Sam gets hit by a truck while he’s yelling at Quackity for sleeping with Ponk. Chasing cars plays while Quackity and Ponk sob in each others arms by his hospital bed.

Reivebur randomly grabs Quackity, throws him over his shoulder and runs away with him into the sunset in the mid season finale. The next episode Q is back and this is never explained.

Eret and Reivebur look at each other and it becomes a huge ship on on tik tok. The writers hate this so much they give Wilbur a girlfriend in Utah named Callie.

Straight phobia is real. Wilbur calls Phil a “hetro” and Niki beats him up for it.

Dream and dreamXD kiss. The writers get canceled for writing incest on twitter so they make it Gnf having a weird Dream and that’s worse.

qQuackity, and his struggle with sincerity

OKOK so. this stream was SUCH a good development for qQuackity and I think i’m finally getting what Q wants us to see from his character. For all his bravado and emotion, qQ is a very impulsive and self-destructing character. But this stream was really focused on how qQ thinks and feels: taking care of tallulah, reflecting about tilin, getting inspired by the Brazilians’ cultural builds, explaining to an un-judgmental entity like Sofia what “love” and “friendship” are supposed to mean.... qQ is learning more about himself. He is reflecting about the sincerity of his own actions and where they brought him. I think this is a wonderful route to bring his story

I am not 100% convinced that this visit from Maxo to invite him to talk to Sofia was by chance; i think there is a possibility that q and max planned this beforehand as a nice way to connect and develop their storylines. but the way its presented to the audience it really feels like qQ’s journey in finding love and acceptance is far from over. I’m so happy for qQuackity

Steve is on a mission! Spying isn’t his strong suit, but nevertheless he shall prevail! Nothing can stand against this mission! Nothing! Steve will rescue his Master or die trying! 

So, now that I have... Returned and everything, there should be less of a wait between each picture, since my goal is to finish this comic strip soon because I’ve got several others after this I also want to work on. (At the moment I’ve got one about the first L’manberg arc, a fantasy au where Izuku is a halfling/hobbit- the idea was so adorable, I had to- and an mha ascendance of a bookworm crossover- which may or may not have an actual plot depending. Yeah... It’s a lot.) We’ve currently got 8 pictures to go! The end is in sight! I might do the odd ‘Steve and Orphan shenanigans’ picture after this is over, but I don’t plan to continue it past the prison break arc. Well, I might... But it’s not likely.

Authors Note: Hello hello my Angels, I know I promised the Jin fic soon buuuuuut Q posted this photo and everyone, including myself, went wild over it! So I just had to make a fic about it! I have decided to make a new fic category just for this one, flirty/extra flirty! This fic will also play off of the other fics I made about him! I hope you guys can enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it!<3

You had really come to know Alex over the past few months. Him becoming one of your best friends, especially after it came out that your best friend Lenai had been spreading lies about you. She had gone to Alex first, expecting him to believe her, but that was a big mistake. As soon as he noticed the negative way she was speaking, he hopped on call with you while also helping notify your fans of the girl's lies.

Nightly calls were almost a daily thing between you two, as well as constant facetimes during yours and his visits to the gym. His hat was always left on, despite feeling just a little extra hot, he wasn’t quite ready to show you yet. You fully understood considering you used to hide your face from everyone. 

The closer you got, the more you wanted to visit him. You were bringing much more in than you expected from streaming, so a plane ticket wouldn’t be a problem. You wanted it to be a surprise to Alex though, knowing that would make it more fun. Alex had often talked about you guys meeting in real life, and how exciting it would be. It was decided, you would be booking a flight to see him. You already knew where he lived, having reached out to karl to help you with the surprise. Making him swear he wouldn’t tell alex you were going to see him. The plane ticket was much easier to get than you expected, and packing was done in a matter of hours.

The nerves set in that night after you had finished packing. It was clear to you and the fans that you had a bit of a thing for Alex, and getting to meet him was making you nervous. You always wondered if you should tell him how you felt but was always too scared to let it slip out to him. You had come so close to saying it a few days ago but it just got stuck in your throat.

You hardly slept the night, and as much as you hoped you would sleep on the plane, you didn’t. You were too nervous and excited at the same time. Feeling bad when you had to decline a facetime from alex while you were on the plane, not wanting to spoil the surprise. Though you answered him as soon as you were off the plane and in a taxi. “ hermosa, why didn’t you answer any of my calls before? I thought you were mad at me! “, “ im sorrrryyyy, I was taking a long nap, I’m in a taxi now though “,  “ a taxi? Where are you going, hermosa? “,  smiling to yourself, knowing in just a short while he will know where you are.

That came sooner than you expected though. Getting out of the taxi and making sure the camera is angled directly at your face so he can’t see where you are. “ im just visiting a friend nearby. Hold on just one sec, alex. “. knocking very gently on his door and looking to the camera, nerves setting back in when you see him leave his room. “ someones here, but I didn’t order any pizza. if I die, it was the hut, hermosa. “, unable to hold back a giggle. Looking to the door when it opens and smiling brightly at the boy in front of you. “ guess now you know which friend I’m visiting, huh? “. He didn’t respond at first, probably still trying to process it. Just as you didn’t process what he was doing until you were lifted up into a tight hug.

Smiling brightly as you hugged back. Not even letting go when you were set down. His arms were wrapped to tight around your waist, if you were a balloon you probably would’ve popped by now. You didn’t mind it though, you felt safe in his arms. Your nerves being shooed away with one little hug. “ how the fuck did you manage to surprise me so well, hermosa “ ,  “ you know I like to keep you on your toes, ‘lex “. Smiling again when he lets out a light laugh at your response. 

“ come in, come in, sorry it might be kind of a mess “, Alex spoke as he gathered your bags and carried them inside for you. Only then did you realize just how big he had gotten in the muscle category. Eyes staring at his muscles as they flexed with each movement. “ alex, when the hell did you manage to grow those? “, unable to hold your filter. 

Listening to him laugh again before he flexed his arms to show off for you. “ are you checking me out, amor? “. That was new, he had never called you that before, and it was obvious to him you knew what it meant considering the blush coming to your cheeks. “ now don’t get too ahead of yourself, cowboy, you were the one purposely checking me out on call just five minutes ago “.

“ Did you expect me not too? You look really beautiful in that dress “. That was also new. Alex was constantly teasing you, but the tone in his voice was different now. It sounded so serious and dripped with confidence in how he felt. You found it hard to hold eye contact wit him now. Not even five minutes into the meet up, and alex already had you red.

“ Lets be honest, Amor, surely you didn’t expect me to hold back just because you’d turn all red and yell at me. You being here just means I can let it all out, times ten. “. His smile had you wobbly in the legs, there was something so different about seeing it in person compared to facetime.

Only now did you realize this visit was going to be a lot more different than you expected. 

Alex was going to be the death of you.

Authors ending note; So who else got butterflies reading that? I got jittery and I’m the one writing it! I feel like I’m slowly beginning to get better at portraying him, and thats probably because I study the way a lot of people write him while also paying extra attention to how he is in streams/videos. Perhaps soon we will get a confession, and possibly a hair reveal? Who knowssss, guess you guys will have to just stick around for the next one! Adding my own hat into the ring and I'm so sorry to be a toxic inniter but the dsmp was written by 3 dozen amateurs who refused to communicate behind the scenes. Which is gonna cause some inconsistencies, especially in the bigger storylines with more creators, and especially when those creators (who were, again, minecraft streamers with little to no writing experience) (not their fault) didn't put much thought into creating a story with a beginning, middle, and end.

Going into season 2, the majority of what Tommy did was done with a very small cast of characters at any given time (with Dream, with Tubbo and Ranboo, with Wilbur and Quackity, for example). He worked with a lot of people, but for different aspects of his character that he could separate from each other. The problem isn't when people try to make themselves the main character (that's how multi-perspective stories work), it's in knowing where you sit within other people's stories, which Tommy had a good grasp of. Along with this, Tommy already had experience with live theatre and an interest in writing. And you can tell, because his story was consistent and very well developed for a 16yo. Was it flawless? No, nobody's was. It was a passion project done over quarantine by a group of teens and young adults. But out of all the creators on that server, Tom is the one who went on to write a play, ykwim? So like, maybe his character was popular for a reason

All of the QSMP eggs as dragons!

Now for my design notes/headcanons! (There's a lot lol)

- The color pallettes are (for the most part) based off of their parent/parents. In lore terms, l'd imagine that more time they spent around their parents before they hatched, the more their color developed to mimic them. It would usually be used as a survival strategy with their dragon parents, however sometimes their personality overcomes this and they develop their own color.

- Being dragonets, none of them can fly due to their currently underdeveloped wings.

- Tilin's yellow spots would make Quackity think that Wilbur was supposed to be the other parent.

- Tallulah's colors/features are close to that of a duck. It would likely be a coincidence, but it'd be enough to Quackity to feel like the island was mocking him.

- Tallulah's "hair" is feathers. She's the only one with feathers, and it may either be a cause or effect of her being left in the attic (possibly being mistaken to be an egg from a different species and not a dragon, or the coldness of the attic caused feathers to form).

- Tallulah and Tilin have the same colored eyes since Quackity once said that she reminds him of Tilin.

- Chayanne has fins bc he likes doing mlg water bucket clutches and fishing with Missa.

- Chayanne's tail fin, Leonarda's ear, and Richarlyson's wing are ripped in a spot due to loosing a life. Bobby lost one of his after I designed him but one of his horns would be chipped, and forgot Ramón only had one as well so let's just pretend he's got a scar on his left leg lol.

- Its kinda subtle, but Chayanne has protruding bottom canines, similar to my (and many others') Techno design.

- Fun fact that usually in my style I have the neck spines start from the top of the head. Ramon is purposely "bald".

- Ngl I don't have much to say about Trump bc he died so quick (rip) and I never saw much about him; but his hat is too big for his head.

- Bobby is a wyvern bc it's easier to slap everyone with his wings. He also headbutts and slaps ppl with his tail (those hurt more).

- Bobby's colors are less based after his parents, but the orange/blue complementary colors are kinda more of a nod to Jaiden being an artist (which doesn't make a whole lot of sense now idk my brain just defaulted to that), but feel they match his personality as well. Also his scleras (part of eye that's not the iris/pupil) are black unlike the rest who's are normal.

- Leonarda has a tiny mushroom pin on her hat and their back has mushroom-like spots for the hat she always wears.

- People keep saying that Leo somehow looks like Foolish which is funny bc that wasn't even intentional- in fact was worried that she would be one of the only ones who didn't resemble her parents enough. I did try to make her slightly taller but I'm going to guess that it's the jawline lol

- [Edit bc I just thought of it] Leo's wings are bigger bc they've grown faster due to using them more to glide off of Foolish's/Veg's builds

- Dapper is built to be more bipedal than quadrupedal (their dewclaws on their back feet act more like a normal toe for better traction/ stabilization). This makes it easier to grab (or steal) things for their collection. And hold a taser.

- Richarlyson is based after an iguana! thought it would fit well (it's kinda hard to base him off of 5 different people lol)

- Had to go off of a secondhand info + auto translations (I can understand a decent amount of Spanish but have no idea when it comes to Portuguese so this could be off) but think there was something about Richarlyson having a bad leg both in and out of rp, and think maybe Cellbit said something about him having a prosthetic for it and I thought that was so so cool! It's based semi loosely off of a dog hind leg prosthetic and a human running one; probably wouldn't actually be functional but tried to keep the general shape of the leg.

- Richas and his dads cover it in stickers :)

- Juanaflippa's tail and probably the lower half of her front legs (which aren't visible) are semi transparent from Charlie (yellow comes from Mariana), and it shifts around a bit! It looks more like slime than it feels like it. I've been calling her Bananaflippa endearingly

- Gegg intentionally looks like Juanaflippa a bit (but he's way more slimy)

- Gegg's inventory basically consists of him absorbing random things which are sometimes visible (he is so full of avocado toast). He's like Bob from Monsters vs Aliens or smth idk haven't seen that movie in forever.

There some smaller less exciting details and other headcanons I have for them (such as extra accessories they'd have like Tallulah wearing sweaters) but that's about it! Feel free to ask about anything I like talking about them lol

it got to the point where it was a shock to not see his name pasted on their screens whenever you started a stream.

and just like all the other times, today was no exception.

laughter filled your office as you and quackity held wine glasses in your hands—the crimson liquid swirling in your cups while you both answered questions that filled the chat.

most of them were harmless. it was just people questioning you both about your lives, what things you liked, and what future plans you had for streaming. some were stupid, like asking what your favourite type of cheese was or what lego movie character you were.

but as the stream went on, and the wine bottle slowly grew empty, you stared to notice your chat getting more curious.

"alexis..." your words were mumbled as you drank from your glass, and his small hum rang out in question. "chat wants to know if we're dating."

"i wish."

"WHAT!?" quackity let out a loud laugh as you grinned widely—narrowing your eyes at him. "you're lying!"

"NO!? i actually wish that—like, every time i hear your name, i wonder what it would be like if we dated."

"what do you think it would be like if we dated?" you questioned, and you watched as quackity shrugged. "i mean, we could find out—"

you both fell silent before bursting into a fit of laughter—the alcohol hitting your mind a bit harder than it usually did. though, you didn't understand why you thought it was funny. it wasn't. he just admitted to liking you, but maybe you just thought it was funny because you didn't believe it. he was drunk.

but even if he was drunk, it had you questioning what it would be like if you both dated.

you stared at him as you leaned against your armrest—examining him.

it's not like you hadn't noticed him before, but now that you looked more deeply at him, he was fairly cute. his eyes were a deep brown—just like his hair. speaking of his hair, it looked good in a beanie, but you liked it better when he didn't have a hat on.

he was also sweet, and funny. you both had a lot in common.

you both had been friends for a while.

would it hurt to give it a shot?

your thoughts were cut off as you heard quackity let out a breathy chuckle, and you could only stare at him in confusion before he spoke.

"stop staring at me with those eyes, amor..." his words were slightly slurred as he took another sip from his glasses—his eyes never leaving yours.

you didn't understand why he was commenting on how you were staring at him when he couldn't even look away from you. his eyes were coated in a gleam of admiration, and he peered at you as if you had just given him the world on a silver platter.

"with what eyes?" your sarcastic remark only earned a drunken smile from him as he placed his glass down on your desk, and he leaned towards you in his chair before tilting his head.

"like you wanna kiss me..." his taunting words trailed as his lazy smile slightly faded—his eyes falling into a lidded gaze before they flickered to your lips. "do you wanna kiss me, amor?"

you stared at him for a minute before you placed your glass next to his—the glasses clinking together as you hummed. "i don't know..."

"well, i know. i want to kiss you, and you should kiss me."

"you're only eager to kiss me because you're drunk, alexis." you words earned a frown from him—though, it looked more like a pout as you slightly smiled.

"drunk words, sober thoughts."

a laugh left your throat at his statement, and while you thought he was joking, the serious expression on his face shut down that thought.

"please, amor? if you're okay with it..." his words seemed so saddened as he asked to make sure you were content with his words, and you could only let out a quiet sigh. "you do realize this is going to get clipped, right?"

"i don't care." he mumbled while you shifted your chair closer to his, and his eyes lit up while one of your hands cupped his cheek.

"you say that now—"

"and i'll say it until the day i die. can you just kiss me now?" you smiled at his question before you placed your lips against his, and you could practically feel quackity melt into the kiss while one of his hands placed itself on the back of your head. the other one grabbed your free hand as he gently squeezed it.

the taste of wine on his lips was evident as you eventually pulled away, and your eyes glanced at his tinted lips due to the alcohol.

"does this mean that you like me back?" quackity blurted out the question while you let out a snicker, and he frowned at you as he gently squeezed your hand. he wanted an answer.

"yes, it does, alexis."

Wilbur

He wasn't ready for that, but it seemed natural. Will got feral with that, as soon as your hand grabbed his hair he let out a big moan and he rolled his eyes. He smirked and grabbed your hips, looking at you a little more needy than before. You two were in his room, he sat on your lap while he was riding your cock. Your body was feeling funny, with a mix of horny and worried. He didn't want people to find out about they making out, especially after the allegations. Wilbur always tried to make the best for you, even if that means keeping you as a secret.

He wanted more of it, begging you to do that again. With sweetness, he grabs your hands and spreads a lot of kisses on them. Will knows that you liked that too, so he made everything to see you doing that. His eyes close when he leans to kiss you, way more soft and passionate than before. One more pull, and he's already crazy for you, his hand going down to touch your zipper. He looks at you with those eyes, so needy and possessive, you love it. Tommy

You two just got home. As soon as he closed the door, he had already jumped on you. His hands touch your chest under your shirt, touching the scars of your surgery. He was surprised when you pulled his hair, and he suddenly widened his eyes. Just a second after it, he giggles and kisses you again. He denied the whimper, just smiling at grinding more aggressively. Tommy was weak for this. He needed more of you. It would never be enough. His legs were getting weak, and he could feel himself lost on the thoughts of his boyfriend pulling his hair. Then, you did it again, and he whimpered. A small moan and his smirk at you, not innocent, totally nasty and lustful.

Quackity

Quacks is wearing his beanie, always with some hat or anything to cover his hair. He was caressing your thighs, running his hand up and down while he worked on something on his computer. Probably a new video or adjusting stuff for a stream. You lay your head on his shoulder, and he leans closer. His hand on your chin as he kisses you. It was soft, nothing too much. But, both of you were needy.. he moves from his chair, pinning you on yours. His arms are blocking your way out, and you bring your hands up to grab his hair.

He says a "what the fuck?" with a chuckle. He loved that, nodding for you to do that again. He's a simple man. If he liked, of course, he would want it again. He's strong enough to keep himself quiet while you do that, even tho his hands are directly on your belt, opening it while you're busy with his hair. He wants your dick so bad. He wants to taste you before you go away again or before he needs to work.

Gonna throw my hat into the ring here, as someone who very recently had a streamer they loved and supported go down for serious allegations and crimes. Feel free to skip around my long ass response, I'll break it down into parts:

---Public Reception

Part of the reason I despise these situations is because people online don't ever know enough to make 100% accurate assessments, but will act like they do anyway (I don't care if its authoritarian, I want a bill where people on Twitter can't post about drama until after at least 5 minutes of being forced to critically think). Having said that, here's my opinions on how everything should go forward:

-Shelby shared her story in order to spread awareness on domestic abuse and the signs, so that others can read those signs and keep themselves safe (or leave an actively abusive situation they've been convincing themselves isn't that bad). That is the priority here, that is what people should be focusing on. If you make this situation about stirring drama with the other CCs, you're a dumbass and you need to stop posting. Give support to Shelby, uplift the voices of women like her sharing their stories, spread awareness on what domestic abuse can look like so everyone can learn, and wait for more information. Its that simple.

-CCs don't owe statements for conflicts they weren't involved in. Philza, Tommy, Quackity, Charlie, and other CCs close to Wilbur who aren't part of this don't owe you an explanation. They're people, they're most likely having to come to terms with the fact that a dear friend, someone who could've been like family, isn't who they thought he was. Have a fucking heart and cut it with the parasocial entitlement. I'm hoping Quackity will remove Wilbur from the Qsmp, but just like with Forever, he probably won't make a big announcement of it, and that's perfectly ok. I understand wanting to make sure you're not supporting a CC who would defend someone guilty of committing domestic abuse, but its still not your right to get anything from these people. If they share, they share. If not, then they don't. If you can't handle that, then leave.

-Having said the above, its worth noting that CCs aren't just a fun group of friends, they're coworkers. Much of what they say publicly and when they say it can be shaped or restricted by situations that can affect their careers or get them in legal trouble. You don't know these people personally or what goes on behind the scenes, its a network and you can't measure their responses the same way you would your own opinion piece. The CCs will always need to be careful about how they respond to an issue, and they will most likely respond in "safe" ways considering what's on the line. Not accusing anyone of anything, nor demonizing them for it, just something to keep in mind. They're human, but they're also working a job.

-If you have Lovejoy or Wilbur-related merch, DON'T THROW IT AWAY OR DESTROY IT. I've seen lots of people pointing out merch can be donated to thrift shops or shelters, and its more eco-friendly than burning or trashing. Remember, anything can be repurposed; a book, a hoodie, there's always someone who can find a use for it. Likewise if you want to keep your old merch, that's fine to. You can wear it if it brings you comfort, or if its something you just like the look of. As long as you're not supporting the source, you already have the merch so don't let people pressure you into thinking you're bad for keeping it if you're not ready to let go/throw away those $70.

---My Opinion Regarding His Response

Everyone and their cousin has been dogpiling on Wilbur's response (rightfully), but I think people online don't understand how public responses work when there's legal team and PR interference. The tweet for me had a weird lack of personal touch and emotion from the guy I've observed to be very personal in his writings, whether its his music or a community post about a life update (blah blah parasociality I know, but I'm letting you know the observations I've made of his behavior simply as someone who notices these things). He also never explicitly stated Shelby's name, rather saying "that person" (you even had the textbook 'black text on a blank white background' screenshotted response). Finally, there was a consistent standing on Wilbur 'not being aware of how the other person really felt' regarding his actions. What I'm trying to say is... y'all really gotta start putting two and two together. Its a textbook PR response. As in, I'd be surprised if Wilbur had over 50% involvement in making it because the wording is exactly how it reads when a response has been initiated by someone's lawyers rather than themselves. The reason he doesn't take more accountability and openly admit to having abused Shelby (other than the obvious public backlash) is probably cause his lawyers are banking on the feigning ignorance angle, that Wilbur didn't intentionally abuse Shelby and was ignorant to how his actions affected her. Its the best way to get him out of hot water on the legal side, because again, this isn't messy drama; its a genuine accusation of a crime. I don't think the response is tone deaf and unaware, I think its a deliberate and measured legal move not even fully created by Wilbur himself. This isn't to say I think he's innocent, but I do know that Shelby and others have brought up some serious accusations, and Wilbur is lawyering up as a result.

---Nuance

Prefacing this part by saying that things are not looking good for Wilbur in regards to what other CCs have brought up about him, and I fully believe and support Shelby, hence why I support that the community should start distancing from him and his work. But I would like to take this opportunity to look into the greater aspects at play. We are within a system that brings up men to do what they want without teaching them to be considerate and aware of the consequences. Men are taught their harmful behavior is perfectly fine, often at women's expense, which makes these situation a very different story depending on who's telling it. Its because of this that we need to critically analyze the system and how it causes men to turn out as they do, instead of giving an immediate opinion without any nuance.

There's a possibility that Wilbur is being genuine in not realizing how bad his actions were. There's a possibility he truly is a manipulative liar who knew exactly what he was doing. He could be a piece of shit. He could be genuinely trying to improve and do better. We don't know. I'd say its pretty cut and dry that he hurt Shelby, and for that I'm glad she's getting justice for herself and spreading awareness. But if we're to entertain the idea of redemption, we need to look at situations like these with nuance so that we can understand the "why". I'm not trying to justify Wilbur's actions or even give him the benefit of the doubt, I have no idea what's going on in that guy's head. I'm just putting this out there because its something I want everyone to think about, especially when it comes to topics regarding narcissism and mental health issues. Don't support him or Lovejoy, just keep something like this in mind for the future.

---The Community/Now Displaced Fans

To everyone who's immediately telling Wilbur's fans (the ones that don't support his actions and are actively mourning no longer being able to enjoy his stuff) to just listen to other music or move on, and who are celebrating each negative new thing that comes out about Wilbur's current status, sincerely, shut the fuck up. You are completely lacking in empathy or emotional intelligence, and what you're doing is the last thing the community needs. Wilbur and his work could have and for many did get fans through some of their hardest moments, and losing that wonderful sense of community you get from streamers and their work (especially with the roleplay stuff) is awful. It fucked me up losing that after almost a year, for some of his fans its been even longer.

If you're a (former) fan of his, its ok to feel like shit. We're human, we get attached and we grieve losing something like this because that's how capable we are of loving. Take your time, as long as you know where to stand (supporting Shelby and raising awareness on domestic abuse), you're doing good. You can keep enjoying his characters and work and making content about it, separating the art from the artist (though don't stream his music from platforms that would give him the money, find a way to pirate it).

This sucks. I feel it as a casual fan who was once hugely into his content, I can imagine what its like for those who were huge supporters all the way up until now. You didn't do anything wrong supporting someone you thought was a good person, its just a thing that happens and its so fucking shitty. You ain't alone though, I know some of you have that knee-jerk reaction to avoid anything to do with him but reaching out to others in the community and actually processing it all is way better, you won't be bottling it all up. Don't be afraid to continue engaging with this part of your life until you're ready to move on from it in your own time, and be kind to yourself. From someone who went through exactly what you are now, trust me, you'll get through it.
