With its progressive immigration policies, strong economy, diverse culture, and high quality of life, Canada has become a beacon for individuals with expertise in various tech fields. In this blog, we'll explore why Canada PR for skilled tech professionals is a coveted opportunity and how it can open doors to new horizons.
Why Canada?
Canada boasts a thriving tech ecosystem that encompasses industries such as artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, software development, biotechnology, and more. Cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Ottawa have become global tech hubs, attracting major companies and startups alike. The country's commitment to innovation, research, and development has created a fertile ground for tech professionals to flourish.
Moreover, Canada's inclusive society, universal healthcare system, excellent education, and stable political environment make it an attractive destination for individuals and families looking to settle abroad. The emphasis on work-life balance and multiculturalism further adds to its appeal, offering a well-rounded lifestyle for residents.
Express Entry System
One of the pathways for skilled tech professionals to obtain Canada PR is through the Express Entry system. This points-based system evaluates candidates based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability. Tech professionals often score well in these categories due to their high-demand skills and qualifications, making them eligible for permanent residency.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) under Express Entry assigns points to candidates, with additional points awarded for factors like a job offer from a Canadian employer, provincial nomination, or having a sibling in Canada. Tech professionals with strong profiles and in-demand skills stand a good chance of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for PR through regular draws conducted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)
In addition to Express Entry, many provinces in Canada have their Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) designed to attract skilled workers in specific sectors, including tech. These programs offer pathways to PR for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria set by each province. Tech professionals may find opportunities through PNPs that target occupations in demand within their field, such as software engineers, IT specialists, data scientists, and more.
PNPs often provide an expedited route to PR and may offer additional benefits such as tailored support services, community integration programs, and networking opportunities with local tech companies. By leveraging PNPs, tech professionals can enhance their chances of settling in a province that aligns with their career goals and lifestyle preferences.
Benefits of Canada PR for Skilled Tech Professionals
Obtaining Canada PR as a skilled tech professional brings a myriad of benefits:
1. Access to Top Tech Companies: Canada is home to multinational tech giants, innovative startups, and research institutions that offer exciting career prospects for tech professionals. PR opens doors to job opportunities with renowned companies across various sectors.
2. Permanent Residency Status: PR status grants individuals the right to live, work, and study anywhere in Canada indefinitely. It provides stability, security, and the opportunity to apply for Canadian citizenship after meeting residency requirements.
3. Family Sponsorship: PR holders can sponsor their spouse, common-law partner, and dependent children to join them in Canada, fostering family reunification and creating a supportive environment for personal and professional growth.
4. Access to Social Benefits: PR holders are entitled to benefits such as healthcare coverage, education subsidies, and social services, ensuring a high quality of life for themselves and their families.
5. Pathway to Citizenship: After fulfilling residency obligations, PR holders can apply for Canadian citizenship, granting them voting rights, unrestricted travel privileges, and a sense of belonging in the Canadian community.
Conclusion
Canada's welcoming stance towards skilled tech professionals, coupled with its robust immigration pathways and thriving tech industry, makes it an ideal destination for those seeking long-term career opportunities and a fulfilling lifestyle. The journey to Canada PR for skilled tech professionals opens a gateway to new experiences, professional growth, and a brighter future in one of the world's most dynamic and inclusive countries.

What Is The Best Provincial Nominee Program For Immigration In 2021?
Best Provincial Nominee Programs for 2021:
I wouldn’t really worry on which is the best program at the moment as due to Canada’s new targets and high goals that have been set, they are looking forward to inviting several individuals to the country by the end of 2022. Due to this whole new Goal several provinces have opened up their programs to invite various individuals across the globe as at the same time there are plenty of job opportunities in all the fields that are in demand right now. But however a list of the few provincial programs below will give you an insight of the various NOCS in demand and opportunities that are arising.
Tumblr media
#1 – SASKATCHEWAN’S INTERNATIONAL SKILLED WORKER
This program is designed to bring workers with experience in the province’s in-demand occupations. In order to be eligible, a candidate must have at least one year of experience in one of the jobs included on Saskatchewan’s in-demand occupation list. Also, candidates must have completed a post-secondary educational credential of at least one year and have some proficiency in either English or French.
There are two streams of Saskatchewan International Skilled Worker that are for Candidates outside Canada. First, the SINP stream, which requires an Express Entry profile in order to apply. Second, the Saskatchewan Occupations In-Demand stream, who doesn’t require an Express Entry profile but rather focuses on the occupation.
#2- ONTARIO’S HUMAN CAPITAL PRIORITIES STREAM
For those living outside of Canada, Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities stream is a great option!
 In-demand occupation NOC codes:
NOC 2173 - Software engineers and designers

Capital Priorities is aligned with the Federal Express Entry system. In order to be considered, a candidate must have an express entry profile with a CRS score of 400 points or higher. Ontario scans through all the express entry profiles and invites certain profiles to apply to the PNP.
Last summer, Ontario had begun conducting draws targeted to tech workers under the Human Capital Priorities Stream. To be eligible, applicants are required to have work experience in one of six designated NOC codes mentioned above. Since its launch, the province has issued a total of 4350 invitations.
 #3- ALBERTA’S EXPRESS ENTRY STREAM
The Alberta Express Entry stream selects candidates from the federal Express Entry pool and invites them to apply for a nomination by the province. One of the major benefit of this stream is that the minimum CRS score is 300. Receiving a provincial nomination will credit 600 points in the candidate’s profile virtually guaranteeing ITA in the next Express Entry draw.

Each of these PNPs has various streams that allow them to search for immigrants with different skill-sets with different requirements and one of those streams is the Occupation In-demand stream. These provinces choose candidates who would best fit in to the Province. Most immigrants choose provinces like Quebec or Ontario or British Columbia in search of their future opportunities. However, there are other provinces too which provide great opportunities while also being low in living cost. One such province is Manitoba. Manitoba not only has few of the best opportunities possible, the province also provides pay scales which are at par with other cities.
Manitoba is one of the most proficient provinces which is rich both in terms of economy and in terms of the minerals possible. Manitoba is good for students, young professionals, families and elderly to relocate to. There is one pathway from Manitoba which works in tandem with Federal Express Entry Program. The MPNP or Manitoba Immigrations has 3 main streams –
i.                     Skilled Worker stream – There are two pathways which are set under this stream, one is the Skilled Workers in Manitoba which was defined for those foreign skilled professionals who are working in Manitoba currently. The other pathway is the Skilled Workers Overseas program which was defined for those foreign skilled workers who apply from outside the country.
ii.                   International Education Stream – Under this stream there are 3 pathways defined. One is the Career Employment Pathway for all those post-graduates with a job offer in Manitoba. The second pathway is the Graduate Internship pathway for all the international masters and doctors graduates and the third pathway is the International Student Entrepreneur pilot pathway which provides opportunity for Manitoba graduates to start a business in Manitoba.
iii.                  Business Investor Stream – This is the Entrepreneur pathway for all those aspirants who intend to start a business in Manitoba or those who would want to invest in a business in Manitoba. Farm Investor pathway is another pathway defined under this program.

Canada is all set to invite one million immigrants by 2021
Canada Immigration has been the chart bursting topic for the last decade. The rate of Immigrants is increasing tremendously every year. The latest buzz related to Canada goal of inviting around one million new permanent residents by the end of 2021 has gathered eyes of many seekers. The recent statement disclosed by the BBC and others has drawn that how three-year target of Canada has been the center topic on the global platform. Canada’s admiration towards new residents has surfaced as the other developed nations like the US has stricken their immigration policies and are adopting stringent rules for the Immigrants.
The opinion piece by New York Times has enlightened this topic further, stating that the U.S. should follow the footsteps of Canada and accept the immigration intake in order to boon the economy of the country. Recently, Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Ahmed Hussen, said in his department’s annual report in the parliament last fall that boost in immigration level especially in the Economic class helps in supporting the labor force as well as provide immense support that helps in escalating the economic growth and prompt innovation.
Canada’s Multi-Immigration level plans
Canada’s latest three-year Immigration levels plan includes intake of 350,000 new residents till the end of the year 2021. This year, around 60% of the new permanent resident population is expected to come under economic immigration programs. There is an expectation of nearly 75% of all economic admissions, under all the four programs – the three Federal High Skilled programs are managed under Express Entry system and the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The three Express Entry managed programs – the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class has the highest target for the year 2019 at 81,400 new admissions among all the economic immigration programs for Canada.
Introduced in the year 2015, Express Entry System is customized for the candidates who are talented, highly educated, has relevant work experience as well as is proficient in English or French language. There are the factors that are taken into consideration to examine the eligibility of an aspirant which ultimately helps a newcomer to contribute to the economy of Canada.  As far as the Government figures are concerned for January to October 2018, professionals like software engineers and designers, information systems analysts and consultants, and computer programmers and interactive media developers lead the list of workers that received an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canada permanent residence under Express entry in 2018.
The reason to introduce Express entry system was to speed up the processing of applications of skilled workers. IRCC said that they have achieved their goal of six-month processing time in almost 80 percent of cases.
Provincial Nominee Program allocations 2018
Family Reunification and Refugees
The Family reunification plan is considered as a central pillar of Canada’s Immigration program by the Federal Government as it contributes to the financial, communal and cultural opulence of all Canadians. There is an estimated target of 88,500 in 2019 and 91,000 in both 2020 and 2021 for spouses/common-law partners, children, parents, grandparents under Family sponsorship programs. Canada has also inclined its support for the refugees and vulnerable persons, in spite of the arrival of asylum seekers for the past two years that has overwrought the government’s resources.  In its annual reports, IRCC mentioned that their three-year plan will help refugees to relocate in Canada to start new lives. The Maple Syrup land is all set with their overall admission target for protected person and refugees of 46,450 for 2019 that will increase up to 51,700 in 2021. The dream of Canada to invite new permanent residents by 2021 has emerged as the good news for the ones who are looking to make Canada their new home as well as for Canadians.
