Weaving his production magic from his home in the vast oil-rich Tyumen Oblast, Mobilize has crafted a significant reputation for himself since his first production work in late 2009, showcased now with the "Reflection" EP for Apollo. Founder of the Mobilisiemusik label and Proton Radio show, he has attracted such leading lights as Gai Barone, Exoplanet and Abdomen Burst to his imprint while contributing over 75 Beatport production credits himself.

A relationship with the trio of Proton labels has also developed during this period and a 2010 contribution to the "Winter Particles" compilation marked a relationship that has reached almost a combined half-century of credits for the Particles and Apollo labels. Indeed, the conceptual 2012 "Evening Kisses" EP brought about a series of Particles radio show guest mixes as an adjunct to the production work split between the twin concepts of "Summer Days" and "Summer Nights". A subsequent remix EP illustrated the success of the concept while 2012's "Children of Babylon" EP for Apollo showcased a set of skills within the minimal and techno arena. 2013's remix of Dapple Apple shone another light on Mobilize's multi-faceted production personality as he now returns to Apollo with a brand new twin-track solo EP, enhanced further by a remix from Monojoke alter-ego, Telekollektiv.

Title track "Reflection" hits the techno high notes that Mobilize has perfected. A hypnotic straight beat and simple percussive accompaniment provide the rhythmic bed for an ominous and edgy chord phrase to play repetitively, creating a dramatic tension as a generous coating of reverb is added, before dropping once more back into hypnotic rhythm. Partner track, "Absorption" continues the techno theme as a frenetic sub-bass pattern partners reverb-soaked percussion to provide a playful ticking groove. Before long a stepped motif plays its part, lifting the mood in repetitive fashion before evolving effortlessly into fuller melodic glory.

Under his Monojoke pseudonym, Polish artisit, Jacek Gumbisz, needs little introduction. A veteran of the progressive breaks scene, work for Silk Digital and Carica Deep highlighted his talent as a multitude of releases for Spring Tube, Nueva and Electronic Tree further confirmed his production credentials. A regular contributor to Particles, a quarter-of-a-century of credits can be seen against his name, including 2009's "Five" EP and 2012's remix of Jorg Murcus' "The Taint of a Mirror".

Under his Telekollektiv pseudonym, Jacek has found a home on the ever-popular, Spring Tube imprint with 2013 EP "Double Ouzo" providing a notable highlight. Similarly, Nueva Deep's "Daydreamer" EP has further elevated the Telekollektiv name. Turning his attentions towards Mobilize, the Telekollektiv remix of the title track, takes the central chord phrase of "Reflection" and uses it as core theme from which to extend outwards into a glorious bass groove, developing a set of musical themes and vocal cuts hitherto unexplored in Mobilize's original work.

My hair is growing back in, as it has about three times before in my life—radiation, chemo, yada yada. I begin to remove the covering scarves and bandanas. I’m glad the baldness was small enough, but to think about my people and the observant strangers seeing the enormous head scar, I float back here to gather thoughts and display some scenes from these months. 

One, radiation—proton radiation, to be fancy. I’d had this before. I had it up in New Jersey, and now it has come to Emory. And they zapped the edges and the innards of my tumor, or something of the kind. I had it as Star Wars torture in my imagination. Which is not too comforting, but it did work. They pondered the lights upon question, and it was certainly for modern radiation decoration. "ProBeam."

It was every day M-F for about an hour, when they give you whatever music you want. It ended around Mardi Gras, so I did WWOZ that week. They hadn’t realized that radio stations worked.

And had an MRI, and it showed nothing good after all that. Various suggestive possible NEW blobs. So, they quit the infusions of immunotherapy drug Avastin. New drug—seems pretty good so far—Tibsovo. Two big blue pills every night. Another realization of how cancer treatment goes these days, like a constant mix of this and that, “targeted,” etc. Sometimes not referred to as “chemotherapy.” Not too bad, but it keeps going. Clearly. Yet never clear.

Fewer seizures, almost none. Fatigue, fatigue, the blank space that takes me back to my teenage effects from the more epic chemo. It really is that, an empty. Some other time, I’ll dig into the natures of such a thing. Thus it will not be wide space. 

I haven’t gone much with conversations upon cancer these months. Face to face, it’s hard to tell the whole spew of frightening labels to someone new, for it has not been in my face so much despite all this recent evidence of doom. To get used to it through the years is… it. Yet it shifts my personal identity again when the years have piled up enough to wonder. 

The stories come knocking, so I play some music these days, filled with pursuit of truths and fictions. As NPR shared this morning in an interview with an artist in pursuit of many paths—“Every age of your life should be a coming of age.” Changes are afoot if you know to let them be a new scene, a you a-shift.

Ukrainian resident Dapple Apple has been a regular producer and remixer on progressive labels such as Silk Digital, Silk Textures and Arrival; his remix of Soundprank's "Burner" a notable highlight. Also responsible for hosting "Silk Textures" on Proton Radio, the show has attained number 1 most-listened to status. Now, in slightly deeper vein and first released in 2011 on Apollo, his "Urban Landscapes" EP receives a trio of remix treatments.

As blogger for "You and the Music (www.youandthemusic.com), "dedicated to supporting new, original music of all shades", it is of little surprise to see UK's South coast Sumsuch also make his mark in the work of production, including remixes and releases for Avangardia, Sick Watona and Urban Torque. With a forthcoming vocal single on Apollo, his remix here is a superb combination of twisted vocal sounds and deep rhythmic bass that creates a superb groove when layered with other melodic elements.

Earlier this year, Alexander Daf was repsonsible for an impressive release on Festival Lounge, co-written with Spieltape and remixed by Rodriguez Jr. and Apollo progenitor, Paranator. With other work for Parquet, System Records and a remix for Proton, Alexander's remix has a trademark sound, full or textured layers and shimmering high frequencies, cast against ambient effects and samples.

Mobilize is head of the Mobilisiemusik label and radio show on Proton. With an upcoming 6 track ep on Particles and a series of guest mixes to accompany it, he is no stranger to the Proton family. An innovative approach sees him make full use of the ambient meandering textures and sounds that were integral to the original release, with the hint of a hypnotic background melodic layer to focus attention on the ever changing 'Street Market' sounds.
