Adult Dessert
Black impenetrable staining… SO staining I’m sure these glasses will never be clear again. Big buttery heat off the nose, a fruit so ridiculously macerated beyond comprehension it goes pond-water in warmth and growth. Alcohol with a tinge of Ajax or Comet curls nostril-hairs. Tasting it improves things a bit, so just lie back and think of England on this one. Chewy green ire vie for dominance…

Writing Notes: Liqueurs
Liqueurs
Also known as cordials.
Distilled spirits that feature flavorings such as fruits, herbs, and spices.
Heavy, sweet, and complexly flavored drinks.
These sweet alcoholic beverages are used to make cocktails, or can be served alone as aperitifs or digestifs.
Making Liqueurs
Involves adding fruits, sugar, cream, spices, herbs, nuts, and flavorings to a liquor base at a distillery.
The sweetness of liqueurs is their most common feature.
Although, they can range widely in sugar content.
Popular types of liqueurs: orange liqueurs, herbal liqueurs, and coffee liqueurs.
Liqueur vs. Liquor
Both are drinks with high alcohol content and similar-sounding names.
However, there are essential differences between these two categories:
Fermentation: Liquor—also known as hard alcohol, spirits, or distilled spirits—is a category of alcoholic beverages that ferment and undergo distillation. In the distillation process, heat and condensation increase the alcohol content, and a significant portion of the water boils off, concentrating the alcohol and particular compounds. Liquors usually starting with a grain base (distillers occasionally use fruits). The six main categories are whiskey, brandy, rum, vodka, gin, and tequila.
Flavorings: Most liqueurs begin with liquor as a base; then, distillers add herbs, spices, and other flavorings. Bartenders can serve liqueurs as-is or add them in small amounts to a liquor base to form mixed drinks.
Sugar: The main difference between liquor and liqueur is sweetness. Liqueurs are intensely flavored with the most predominant note usually being sweetness. Flavoring herbs and oils and added sugar provide flavor and texture.
Alcohol content: Both liqueurs and liquors have a range of alcohol content. Most liquor is in the 40 to 55 percent range of Alcohol by Volume (ABV), or 80 to 110 proof. Liqueurs typically contain more ingredients, so the alcohol content is generally lower, from 15 to 30 percent ABV or 30 to 60 proof.
15 Popular Types of Liqueurs
There is a wide range of liqueurs, from cream-based cordials to proprietary recipes.
Amaretto: An Italian liqueur made from apricot kernels, which give the liquor a distinctly bitter almond flavor. Its name comes from amaro, the Italian word for “bitter.” Sweeter notes of brown sugar temper the bitterness of the apricot pits. It contains 21 to 28% ABV and can be sipped alone or added to cocktails.
Amaro: A broad category of regional Italian bitters. Made from either a neutral spirit or brandy, this bitter liqueur is a staple in the Italian lifestyle. A curated blend of botanical ingredients—typically an inherited recipe that includes herbs, spices, and flowers, as well as barks and roots like gentian root, cinchona, and wormwood—gives each variety of amaro its unique flavor. Campari, Cynar, Fernet Branca, and Aperol are popular amaro liqueur brands.
Anise liqueurs: Anice, the primary flavoring agent in black licorice, is a popular ingredient in alcoholic drinks in many countries and cultures: Ouzo in Greece, Sambuca and Galliano in Italy, Pernod Absinthe in France, and Raki in Turkey, among others.
Chambord: A popular brand of raspberry-flavored liqueur. The ingredients are red and black raspberries, honey, vanilla, and cognac. Chambord is great for making Raspberry Mojitos and Raspberry Margaritas.
Cream liqueurs: Thick, sweet liqueurs made with the addition of milk or a milk substitute, along with sweetener, to provide a creamy sweetness to the drink. Baileys Irish Cream liqueur and Amarula are two examples of cream liqueurs.
Creme liqueurs: Creme liqueurs are thick, sweet, syrup-like beverages. Unlike cream liqueurs, creme liqueurs do not contain dairy. Instead, added sugar provides a thick consistency. Crème de cassis (made from blackcurrants), crème de cacao, (a chocolate liqueur) and crème de menthe are different flavors of this category.
Coffee liqueurs: These liqueurs contain caffeine, and the predominant flavor is coffee. Coffee liqueurs, such as Kahlúa from Mexico or Irish Sheridan, are generally served with cream and sugar.
Elderflower liqueurs: These herbal liqueurs provide a light, floral note to cocktail recipes. St. Germain is a popular brand of elderflower liqueur.
Limoncello: A liqueur flavored with lemon peel. Limoncello is strong, sweet, and bright yellow.
Medicinal: Some liqueurs, such as Chartreuse and Benedictine, were initially used for medicinal purposes. These liqueurs tend to be floral and highly complex, with an ingredient list that remains secretive.
Orange liqueurs: These liqueurs feature predominant orange flavors, and are broadly known under the labels curaçao or Triple Sec. Popular brands include Cointreau and Grand Marnier.
Schnapps: Some varieties of schnapps do not classify as liqueurs, but those with added sweetness and flavoring agents, such as peach schnapps and peppermint schnapps, are liqueurs.
Drambuie: This Scottish liqueur has a base spirit of Scotch whiskey and a proprietary blend of herbs and spices.
Frangelico: Italian liqueur flavored with roasted hazelnuts; comes in a uniquely shaped bottle, modeled after a Christian monk, complete with a rope belt.
Strega: Italian herbal liqueur that gets its name from the Italian word for witch. The distinctive yellow color comes from saffron, imparting flavor to the liqueur.

2024-09-08: Episode 08 (Delivery Deception)
Original airdate August 19, 1992
Episode Synopsis
Boris Ozonevich makes a call on a pay phone to his comrade from the former Soviet Union, Vladimir Polutov, to arrange the delivery of briefcase full of C-4 and the call is overheard by Dr. Beeker as she is passing by. Dr. Beeker asks the gang to stop Boris from getting his hands on the C-4, ideally by stealing it from SynCorp Tower. Getting into the tower is easiest if the gang pose as delivery personnel, but the elevator requires special access cards to get to the hazardous materials storage vault on the 50th floor. The gang can attempt to steal an access card from a guard, climb onto the roof and enter the vault through the ventilation system, or climb the elevator shaft to pry open the doors to the 50th floor. Once the C-4 is taken, SynCorp Tower goes into lockdown mode and the easiest way out is to get to the roof (or through a window). However, a group of security choppers are patrolling the sky around the tower; how will the gang get out of this mess?
Episode Sponsor: Hott Pants
Color-changing dyes and pigments were not new to the 1990s, and neither was their use in clothing. However, such dyes were almost always used in shirts and hats. The Hott Pants line of clothing was limited to athletic shorts in various styles and came in only four colors: red, green, blue, and purple. The dyes were embedded in a proprietary rayon blend that allowed the shorts to keep their color-changing abilities much longer than other fabrics. It was created after a the son of a clothing designer suffered heat stroke while playing outside, and Hott Pants were designed as a way to alert children when the ambient temperature began bordering on unsafe so they could come inside. The name itself is a play on words that combines "Hot" with "t," the abbreviation for temperature. Each pair of shorts began at a very dark version of whatever their initial color was, and lightened to become a neon version of the color when unsafe temperatures were reached.
Notable Element: Rat Snaps (Item)
Among the unconventional security measures in SynCorp Tower are the Rat Snaps. They are tiny rat-sized robots with oversized jaws that do 1d2 piercing damage on a hit (use the cat stat block, but treat the creature as a construct). Each Rat Snap can run and fight for up to 10 minutes before needing to be recharged, and they are usually stored in a special briefcase containing space for 6 Rat Snaps. A controller in the briefcase allows the Rat Snaps to be directed toward certain targets.
A Rat Snap has two other abilities that it can employ. It can discharge its battery after biting to deliver 1d8 lightning damage to whatever it is currently attached to, though it will no longer be able to fight, move, or use any other ability until it spends an hour recharging. The other ability is as a GPS tracker, because each Rat Snap has a tracking device in it. As long as the Rat Snap has power, its tracker is active and can be tracked with the briefcase. For each hour after the first, the tracker has a 25% chance of running out of power.

i wanna say that bloodwine is some super fancy thing, but it's kind of not. it's just the only wine that tastes kind of decent by itself and paired with other things. it's like... a palate cleanser, more than anything, that you can get drunk off of. it's also the only wine that can effect most nightfolk, some magical properties to it but nothing extraordinary, unless you count nightfolk being able to actually get drunk on it as extraordinary. it's plain and nondescript in flavor, but can taste the faintest bit sweet, tart, bitter, or dry depending on what you pair it with. recipes and blends are proprietary, so no one shares them.
true to its name, bloodwine is blood red, similar in consistency to fresh blood and stains just as badly. you'll never get it out of your clothes if you spill it, and that's really where it gets its name. no one knows who it was really invented by, what its intended name was, but it's been apart of their culture since forever ago. somebody somewhere once said it was 'what the gods drank the night they created the world' and, well, nightfolk and their drama.
#☿ || Headcanons.#/ it goes veeeery well with all kinds of things#/ but especially desserts and cheeses

fuuuuck can inquiring minds get a recipe for the uterine blaster blend. or is it proprietary for now
Omg yeah well I should preface this by saying I’m not a doctor I’m a food scientist for gatorade (they don’t employ me or know who I am). But it’s just a simple blend of raspberry leaf & wineberry leaf (virtually the same, wine berries are closely related lol and I only add them bc they grow all over my yard and I like to put fresh leaves in), red clover, and motherwort. But because I’m super willy nilly and only drink teas that taste good I also added lemongrass lemon balm and chicory for flavor. But I super highly recommend even just raspberry leaf from your co-op, it’s that wonderful combination of good for you and really yummy (see also: tulsi). This tea doesn’t even need extras for flavor bc the raspberry and wineberry and clover are so nice.
Also another disclaimer is that a lot of people touting this shit are like scarily trad sometimes so like also see your doctor and whatnot and not pictured in the teas are the multiple Tylenols and ibuprofens I also take even though I know how to make a perfectly good willow bark tincture lol. And third disclaimer even a cursory google search is a good idea before heavy use of any herbal medicinals bc some like ashwagandha or whatever can build up their effects over time or mess with your meds and stuff but everything I’ve put here is super safe just research before you go too crazy :-)
#a personal choice I’ve been making lately is to do loose teas for flavor control and bc it’s much cheaper#you can get a to. of loose teas at the co-op for sooooooo cheap if ur in an American city#but I used to get Smooth Move tea for constipation relief and choking it down was suuuuuuch a struggle bc I hated the licoricey flavor so#much so then I just started buying looseleaf senna (the active ingredient) and flavoring it with mint family herbs instead and it’s made#such a difference in my life#asks

Banish Yellow Teeth
Yellow teeth can be a source of self-consciousness for a lot of people, but understanding why they occur can help us take steps to prevent them.
What is yellow teeth?
One common cause of yellow teeth is the natural aging process, as our enamel thins and reveals more of the yellowish dentin underneath.
Additionally, certain foods and drinks like coffee, tea, and red wine can stain our teeth over time. Poor oral hygiene, smoking, and certain medications can also contribute to yellowing teeth. But don't worry, there are steps we can take to prevent and treat yellow teeth, from regular brushing and flossing to professional teeth whitening treatments.
What causes yellow teeth and how to prevent it?
Foods and drinks with high levels of acid, such as citrus fruits, soda, and sports drinks, can erode the enamel on our teeth and make them more susceptible to staining.
2. Dark-colored foods and drinks like coffee, tea, red wine, and berries can stain our teeth over time, especially if consumed frequently or in large amounts.
3. Consuming sugary or starchy foods and drinks can create an environment in our mouth that promotes the growth of bacteria, which can lead to yellowing and decay of our teeth.
4. A diet lacking in certain vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, vitamin D, and vitamin C, can weaken our teeth and make them more susceptible to yellowing and decay.
Overall, a balanced diet that is low in sugar, acid, and dark-colored foods and drinks, and high in essential vitamins and minerals, can help keep our teeth healthy and prevent yellowing.
What can I do to whiten my teeth and prevent yellowing in the future?
For an extra help, other than dietary changes (let's face it, coffee is too good to let go of anyway) I recommend NuSkin AP24 Whitening Toothpaste.

This has to be the tartest Paso Cab I’ve ever had. Fairly transparent in the glass: deep murky ruby with wide clear edges. Not much of a nose. Really nothing other than light burnt-rubber on bright cranberry. Shockingly thin on the palate, the brace of acidity also shocking where one *expects* Paso chub. Gorgeous fruit: a rather deep black cherry polished with bright raspberry and everywhere:…

Title: Only one top catboy!
Oh. Oh no. I hope this fulfills your wishes.
Only One Top Catboy!
The apron strings were digging into his waist. The skirt barely covered the tops of his thighs, but he’d insisted on wearing opaque leggings underneath so at least he wasn’t flashing anyone everytime he bent over.
He smirked. Not that anyone in the cafe would mind.
The owner had presented him with a pair of ridiculous, huge, fuzzy cat ears at the beginning of his shift. He’d baulked at first, but the softness of the fur brushing against the top of his bald head actually felt nice. Not that he’d tell anyone.
“Letho! Are you paying attention?” Aiden asked, setting the rest of the cups of tea and sandwiches on his tray and frowning up at him.
Letho considered for a moment before shaking his head. “Not really. You were complaining about your boyfriend’s girlfriend again and I tuned it out.”
He picked up the tray and headed back out into the cafe proper before the other man had a chance to formulate a reply. Carefully he maneuvered his way around the tables, smiling politely back at the regulars when they smiled at him. He placed the tray down on one of the round tables decked out in dark red fabric embroidered with tiny gold cats and let his face relax into a proper smile.
"Good afternoon Miss Priscilla, Miss Essi," he rumbled, setting the delicate teacups out in front of the two women. "I trust your day has been good so far?"
On his left, Priscilla laughed lightly. "It's warm and sunny, and we're finally done with uni for another year."
Essi grinned up at him. "Now that we're here it's even better."
It had been weird and not a little unnerving to have so much attention focused on him, but after six months he'd slowly gotten used to it. Now instead of being apprehensive everytime he walked in the front doors, he looked forward to it.
"I'm glad to hear it," he answered, stepping back slightly after removing the rest of the tea service and sandwiches and picking up his tray. "Is there anything else I can do to make your time at Coen's Cat Cafe more pleasant?"
Both women smiled at him, full unabashed smiles with not a hint of guile or fear.
"No no!" Essi replied. "Thank-you, Letho. You're such a gentleman."
Letho smiled back before turning and threading back between the tables, maybe wiggling his hips a little to make the tail attached to his waist twitch back and forth.
So of course he was a little jealous when Coen hired a new guy. Maybe. Just a little.
Gaetan was lithe where Letho was bulky, sleek where he was rippling, cunning where he was implacable.
Letho hated him.
"Why do you keep staring at him like you want to eat him, then?" Aiden drawled, pouring them both cups of tea after they'd finished cleaning up for the evening. It was a proprietary blend of black teas that Coen had gotten made especially for the cafe. Letho liked it because it tasted like a warm Autumn evening. Aiden liked it because the caffeine content was on par with an espresso.
"What? No I don't," he protested. Wrapping one massive hand around the steaming chipped mug, he inhaled the comforting aroma as his brows furrowed downwards, pulling at the scar between them. "He's a nuisance. He flirts too much. Talks too loud. It's like he's hiding something."
"Are you sure you don't want to eat him?" Aiden pressed. He raised one eyebrow in challenge before taking a sip of his too hot tea.
"Never even crossed my mind."
They were silent for several long minutes, each staring into their own mug before Aiden sighed.
"Are you worried he's going to take away your title of top cat boy?" he asked slyly.
Letho choked on his tea.

Who’s Turn is it to Call OSHA?
Okay, I turned this one a little to the side. I hope you like it 💚
OSHA is a Place
Vesemir leaned back against the wall of the gym, watching his youngest son wrestle unsuccessfully with the new equipment. He took a long sip from his coffee mug and checked his watch. Nearly 6.30. Still another half an hour before their regulars started to wander in.
Cursing loud and foul enough to blister paint made him wince. It wasn't as if he hadn't warned Lambert that everything needed to be set up before his shift started. It was his own damn fault that he’d waited until the last minute.
Vesemir was certain that as the new piece of gym equipment went together, there were possibly several screws missing and some pieces that didn’t seem entirely flush in their mounts. He was contemplating what to tell Lambert when Geralt came sauntering over from the direction of the locker room, taking a swig from his own insulated mug.
They watched Lambert for several minutes as he struggled.
"Is he -?" Geralt started, gesturing with his mug.
"Yup."
"Does he know - "
"Uh-huh."
"Well okay then."
They stood together silently, brows furrowed as they both decided what to do next. It was nearly 6.55 when Eskel came to lean on the wall beside them, crossing his arms over his chest and frowning.
Something fell off the top of the cross bar and landed with a load clank on the bare concrete floor.
"Who's turn is it to call OSHA?" Vesemir asked conversationally.
As if on cue, the chime on the front door sounded and they turned in unison to watch Valdo and his clipboard enter the gym.

My #1 post of 2022
I would like to submit "a bird in the hand is worth a kick in the ass" as a title.
<3
Thank you
And finally, the last title prompt!! I hope it was worth the wait 💚💚💚💚
A Bird in the Hand is Worth a Kick in the Ass
"What we have here is a situation."
"That - that's not even remotely correct."
"What would you call it then?"
"It's more akin to a disaster."
"I think you're exaggerating."
"A situation would be something easily solvable."
"You don't think this is easily solvable?"
Jaskier barely suppressed the urge to scream. "Valdo, my dearest friend." Valdo snorted. "Unless you can somehow miraculously get the king to dismiss the charges, release us from this dungeon, and give us all our clothes back, I can hardly see how this is easily solvable!"
To his credit, the other bard was quiet for nearly five seconds before speaking again.
"I. Have a plan."
"Oh my gods we're fucking doomed."
"You're such a pessimist." Valdo shifted from where he was sitting on the cold stone floor of the king's dungeon. Jaskier could barely make him out in the gloom, only the light from a couple of smoky, flickering torches set in the wall outside of their shared cell providing any light. He could hear the clank of heavy chains as Valdo moved, but he couldn't see what he was doing.
After a moment, Valdo made a triumphant little "Ah ha!" sound and a warm golden glow started emanating from the pendant still draped around his neck.
"What the fuck is that?" Jaskier blurted, leaning forward and squinting to get a better view. The chains binding him to the wall behind him prevented his moving closer to make out much more than the fuzzy outline of the small pendant. But it was definitely glowing, that much he could tell for sure.
Before Valdo had a chance to answer, there was a bright flash of light and a loud popping sound that made both of them flinch and Jaskier cry out in alarm.
Into the silence that followed, a familiar voice said, "What the fuck did you do to get yourselves thrown into a dungeon? And why are you both naked?"
"Lambert!" Valdo exclaimed cheerfully. "So good to see you! Don't suppose you could do anything about our current incarceration?" He turned to grin smugly at Jaskier. "I told you I had a plan."
The Witcher - who had definitely not been there a moment ago and was standing on the other side of the bars, outside of their shared cell - eyed them speculatively. Or so Jaskier surmised, he still couldn't see much.
Before Lambert could answer, another voice broke in.
"What the fuck is going on here?"
All three of them turned to look towards the far end of the dungeon. Where before they'd thought the other cells were empty, now they could see the enormous outline of another person - person? it looked more like a mountain made flesh than an actual human being, Jaskier mused - was leaning against the bars.
"Arnaghad? What the fuck are you doing here?" Lambert blurted, tromping across the bare stone floor to peer in at the other Witcher.
"Trying to get some sleep, what does it look like?" Arnaghad returned sarcastically. "Are you here to rescue these two idiots from their own incompetence?"
Despite both said idiots' sudden protests, Lambert laughed.
"Something like that, yeah. You want out, too? Can't see how it's comfortable down here for you either." There was a nervous edge to his voice, like he wasn't quite sure he wanted to free the hulking Witcher.

The Ultimate Guide to Bath & Body Works Candles: Scents That Elevate Your Home Experience
When it comes to luxury home fragrances, few brands capture the hearts of candle lovers quite like Bath & Body Works. With their vast range of scents, seasonal collections, and high-quality products, Bath & Body Works has become synonymous with indulgent self-care and creating inviting home atmospheres. Whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer looking to dive into the world of candles, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know about Bath & Body Works candles, from why they're so popular to how to find the perfect scent for your home.
Why Bath & Body Works Candles Are So Popular
If you've ever walked past a Bath & Body Works store, you've likely been hit by an irresistible wave of warm, inviting fragrances. The brand has mastered the art of scent marketing, but their success isn't just about what you smell in the store. There are several key reasons why Bath & Body Works candles have become a household name:
1. High-Quality Ingredients
Bath & Body Works prides itself on using high-quality essential oils and proprietary fragrance blends that create long-lasting, true-to-life scents. These aren't your run-of-the-mill candles with artificial smells. The careful crafting process ensures that each candle has a powerful yet balanced fragrance, whether it’s a fresh eucalyptus blend or a sugary sweet vanilla.
2. Long Burn Time
The three-wick candles, one of their most popular formats, burn evenly for up to 25-45 hours. This extended burn time makes them a cost-effective choice compared to other luxury candle brands, providing many hours of soothing light and delightful fragrance.
3. Seasonal and Limited-Edition Scents
One of the reasons Bath & Body Works fans are so loyal is their ability to continuously surprise with seasonal and limited-edition candles. Whether it's a Pumpkin Spice Latte scent for fall or a Peppermint Twisted holiday blend for winter, Bath & Body Works always has something fresh and exciting for candle lovers. Collectors especially love the seasonal offerings, which come in limited-edition packaging and often sell out quickly.
4. Variety of Scents
From florals and fresh linens to desserts and exotic spices, there’s a scent for every nose and every occasion. Their expansive collection makes it easy to switch things up based on your mood or the season. Whether you're trying to create a calming space in your bedroom, an energizing environment in your kitchen, or a festive atmosphere for the holidays, Bath & Body Works candles have got you covered.
Best-Selling Bath & Body Works Candles
While the store offers an extensive selection of fragrances, certain candles have become iconic in the Bath & Body Works lineup. These fan favorites have earned their place in homes across the world.
1. Mahogany Teakwood
One of the brand's most recognizable scents, Mahogany Teakwood is a sophisticated blend of rich mahogany, black teakwood, and dark oak. It’s perfect for those who enjoy woodsy, masculine fragrances that bring a sense of warmth and luxury to any room. If you love the scent of cologne, this candle is a must-have.
2. Eucalyptus Spearmint
Part of Bath & Body Works’ Aromatherapy collection, Eucalyptus Spearmint is the ultimate stress-relief candle. Its crisp eucalyptus and cooling spearmint scent help soothe the senses and promote relaxation. This candle is a popular choice for those looking to create a spa-like atmosphere in their home.
3. Sweater Weather
A seasonal favorite, Sweater Weather combines fresh sage, juniper berry, and aromatic eucalyptus to create a cozy, invigorating scent reminiscent of cool autumn mornings. This candle is a top pick for fall and pairs well with a good book and a hot cup of tea.
4. Leaves
Leaves is another fall favorite that epitomizes the cozy vibe we crave as the weather cools. With notes of crisp red apple, golden nectar, and clove spice, it brings the essence of a brisk walk through a leaf-strewn forest right into your living room.
5. Champagne Toast
For those who prefer lighter, bubbly fragrances, Champagne Toast is a celebration in a candle. The scent combines champagne, sparkling berries, and juicy tangerine, making it a great option for special occasions or simply adding a touch of glamour to your day.
How to Choose the Perfect Bath & Body Works Candle
With so many options to choose from, finding the perfect candle for your home can feel overwhelming. However, by considering a few factors, you can easily narrow down your selection to the scent that best suits your needs.
1. Consider the Room
Each room in your home has a different purpose, so choosing scents that match the vibe of the room is important. For example, in the bedroom, you may want to go for calming, soothing scents like lavender or eucalyptus. In the kitchen, you might prefer something fresh or fruity like lemon or cucumber. For communal spaces like the living room, warm, inviting scents like vanilla or cedarwood work well.
2. Match the Season
Bath & Body Works excels at offering seasonally appropriate scents that reflect the mood and weather of each time of year. For example, in summer, you might enjoy tropical, citrusy scents like "Island Margarita" or "Waikiki Beach Coconut." In the fall and winter, spicier, warmer fragrances like "Marshmallow Fireside" or "Hot Cocoa & Cream" can add to the cozy, holiday ambiance.
3. Personal Preference
Ultimately, choosing a candle comes down to personal preference. Some people prefer fresh, clean scents, while others gravitate toward gourmand fragrances with vanilla, sugar, or chocolate notes. If you're unsure of what you like, start with a variety pack of mini candles, which allows you to experiment with different scents before committing to a larger jar.
How to Care for Your Bath & Body Works Candles
To get the most out of your candles, proper care is essential. Here are a few tips to ensure your Bath & Body Works candles burn evenly and last as long as possible:
1. Trim the Wick
Always trim the wick to about ¼ inch before lighting your candle. This helps prevent the flame from getting too large, which can lead to uneven burning and produce excess soot.
2. Let It Pool
Allow the candle to burn until the wax melts across the entire surface, creating a full "pool." This will prevent tunneling and ensure that your candle burns evenly over time.
3. Use a Candle Snuffer
Instead of blowing out the flame, use a candle snuffer to extinguish it. This minimizes the smoke and helps preserve the fragrance for your next use.
4. Reuse the Jar
Once your candle has burned down, don't toss out the beautiful glass jar. Bath & Body Works candle jars are reusable and make for excellent storage containers for small items like cotton balls, office supplies, or even makeup brushes.
Why You Should Stock Up During the Annual Candle Day Sale
If you're a true candle lover, you’ve probably heard of Bath & Body Works' legendary Candle Day Sale. Held annually in December, this event offers significant discounts on their famous 3-wick candles, with prices dropping as low as $10-12 per candle. It's the perfect time to stock up on your favorite scents, try new ones, or buy gifts for friends and family.
The sale usually draws huge crowds, both in-store and online, so it's a good idea to plan ahead. Pro tip: Create an online account and fill your cart early, so you can check out as soon as the sale starts to avoid missing out on limited stock.
Conclusion
Bath & Body Works candles are more than just a way to scent your home—they're an experience. With their wide variety of high-quality fragrances, long burn times, and seasonal offerings, these candles are perfect for any occasion, room, or mood. Whether you're looking to unwind after a long day, add ambiance to your dinner party, or simply fill your home with delightful scents, Bath & Body Works has a candle for you.
So go ahead, light up your favorite Bath & Body Works candle, and enjoy the magic of transforming your home into a cozy, fragrant haven.

Some Flora, Some Fauna (P1)
⸻Flora
Meekish Snap-Traps are an equally carnivorous cousin to the Yellow Trumpet Pitcher Plant, though they are nocturnal and somewhat shy, quickly snapping themselves shut at the faintest hint of movement, instantly trapping and devouring anything stuck on its flower or lip or protecting themselves from perceived harm. It is much larger than its cousin and is typically purple or red in color, though its flower may be a white, yellow, or orange. Their digestive fluids and nectar emit a faint glow when digesting prey, and for this reason, they are commonly kept as house plants. Their nectar is also used in medicinal remedies and high-end potions, as it also contains a neurotoxin which effects can be likened to morphine. These plants can digest small insects, large insects, leeches, and even rats and small birds. They also do not like to be watched when they're digesting.
⸻⸻⸻⸻
Deathbloom is simply the name of the magical American variety of the Japanese Spider Lily, except worse, as they are thought to be both extremely dangerous in herbalist applications as well as bad omens. They grow wild near mausoleums, cemeteries, and even unmarked gravesites, and are thusly thought to be signs of death itself. Instead of finding any use in potion-making that wasn't explicitly for the creation of potent poisons and otherwise ailment-inducing side effects, they were adopted for use in funerary rights by sorcerer communities across the southern states from North Carolina to Louisiana. As such, the Deathbloom has been increasingly linked to death as both a symbol and application of it, yet beautiful and sorrowful in that beauty, thus its name.
Flower colorations don't vary much. Typical petal colorations are nearly always the same, with white petals toward the tips and a deep bloody red in the center of the flower in a mottled pattern. There are parts of the plant that aren't poisonous, but instead have a soothing effect like chamomile, specifically the roots. Deathbloom root is often used in a proprietary tea blend at Simone's - family recipe. All other parts of the plant are viciously poisonous, and consuming these parts will result in near instant death.
⸻⸻⸻⸻
Brachio are swampwater plants that are almost indistinguishable from riverbed plants. They vary in overwhelmingly typical colors and they are truly very ordinary on the whole, but what sets them apart could never be their appearance. Brachio snap and dance in the water, their arms defying the current and snatching small prey, coiling around small river shrimp, snails, baby fish, and insects, and draining them of life and substance - much like a Meekish Snap-Trap. These plants make for nervous pets.
They can be used for one of two things: Strange companionship, or magically. Brachio are often used in home remedies for generalized lung problems, or in Extended Breath potions. To properly make use of brachio, it must first be dried and ground with eggshell and salt in a mortar. Abuse can result in worsened lung problems, so it is recommended it be used sparingly or in small doses. Some supernaturals have cultivated gargantuan specimens, and such specimens have been mistaken for Frogmen, regarding some recorded deaths over the years. Specifically, supernaturals of a more sinister nature.
Ownership or cultivation of brachio is regulated but not entirely restricted. Sorcerers need only be 18+ and possess a permit, of which there are three: Government, Research & Education, and Guild of Herbalists. This regulation is strictly upheld in places like Florida.
⸻Fauna
Frankenleeches are a massive cousin to the standard North American leech and have vastly different coloration, with some resembling rainbow trout, brown trout, blue gills, and various other fish found in the rivers and lakes around the Southern states. The strangeness and variety of their coloration paired with the small almost-dorsal fins on two sides of its body and their massive suckers with multiple rows of hook-teeth has earned them their name, as well as the electrical properties of the enzymes found in their intestines. Adults don't vary much in size, their typical length being roughly 12in. They can consume enough blood to kill a horse. They are commonly used in potions whole or kept as oddities, though there are some healers who still use them in their practices with close regulation. The largest Frankenleech ever recorded was 18 & 1/3 inches long.
⸻⸻⸻⸻
Red Wolves, once hunted to near extinction by poachers and aggressive predator control programs & habitat destruction, encroached upon by humans and sorcerers alike, this particular breed of wolf is an extreme rarity in the groves and woods surrounding Belle Valley. Their species carries Gray Wolf and Coyote DNA, so their general build and facial shape reflects as much; However, they are much, much redder in color, a rich auburn, though there may be some pattern variations.
These animals were highly sought after by sorcerers throughout the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries for their mysterious yet impeccable timing as guardians in lethal (or nearly-lethal) circumstances their sorcerer masters would find themselves facing. That is to say, they would either take their master's place and suffer the killing blow themselves, or they would uncannily lead the way toward something Big & Important or protect their masters from general harm. Rumor has it that a potion derived of the Red Wolf's blood and saliva could heal all wounds, and bless the drinker with extended life. This led to an accidental culling of their populations in the Southern states in the early 1900s, about which the Director of the US Department of Regulatory Sorceries conspired with the government to cover it up by establishing predator-control policies, upon which a number of people took as permission to hunt them down - poachers and hunters alike. They were declared extinct in Louisiana and Texas - take a look at Belegerande's faculty and see if you can figure out who took part in this.
**These are real life animals. They're cool, look 'em up. I'm sort of just playing around with them.
⸻⸻⸻⸻
Crocodingos, or Haint Dogs, are an exceedingly rare beast with dubious origins native to Tennessee. It was forced into near-extinction and remains critically threatened due to habitat destruction, poaching, and over-hunting from both sorcerers and non-magic folk. They have become so rare that they are believed to already be extinct, however small populations exist in isolation throughout Belle Valley and pockets of Louisiana and Mississippi. They are rumored to be a bizarre magical experiment that happened to get loose and reproduce, their existence purportedly heralded by an explosive flash of green light in a more dramatic vein as NY sewer alligators (which do exist, ironically). Public opinion is split on whether that's even true, though there are wiser supernaturals who know better.
Haint Dogs were, in fact, the creation of the researcher Shoshanna Bathory in 1839, who specialized in an array of sorcery and applied them to unfeeling magical research. She was obsessed with the 'synthesis of chimeral creatures', which she justified with the potential for limitless magical resources that wouldn't result in the desolation or extinction of endangered beast populations and lead to repopulation instead. A sound idea on paper, but when put to practice, countless animals were subject to cruel magical experiments the deeper she fell into her obsession - which perhaps was truly about animal conservation, but her goal was corrupted, and countless animals suffered needlessly for it. However, she'd proven it possible to even create a chimera in the first place, which led to a scientific renaissance in the supernatural world, though the credit was never afforded to her and shouldn't be. In fact, all record of her and her experiments were destroyed with prejudice by the presiding Sorciers at the time, and she was locked away in Bermuda for the rest of her life.
Haint Dogs are characterized by their physical similarities to the African dingo dogs, however their heads are that of a crocodile's. That is, sandy brown fur and dark scales. Known alternatively as Crocodingos, they behave similarly to dingos themselves, with one difference in their hunting styles: They thrash and death roll their prey. This is known only to those fortunate enough to have become familiar with them, but, predictably, comprehensive information on their behavior, physiology, magical properties, and more, thanks to the Sorciers of Tennessee.
Where small populations still remain, they are said to appear lingering around ruins hidden deep within the swamps, only venturing from their limited territories to appear before those who are lost, dead or alive. Like flickering lights to guide you down a road that will lead you back to safety, which are characterized by a greenish glow. This glow is emitted by their eyes and are commonly mistaken for fireflies or witchlights.
