Another hybrid project, and another beloved OC brought to life! Repping more nylon from TheDollPlanetHair on Etsy, but not a reroot this time. The head was too hard for my rooter to get through, so I used the weft method to get the silky textured hair on. It was a laborious process, but I learned quite a bit! I can’t decide what I’m most proud of… her delicate, expressive face, or her ornate royal robes! Head is a Project MC2 McKeyla, and the body is a Disney Snow White

This Mattel Hattie Happy head arrived with rhinestones in the eyes, replacing the original (and fragile) eye chips. I painted irises and upper shadow over them, and that blended well with the rest of the original eye paint.

The head had been in the parts box for years, waiting for an appropriate body. I stuck it on a Cave Club body as a joke, and...it kinda worked? But I didn't like the lack of shoe options for the Cave Club feet. It turns out the Cave Club lower legs are easy to remove, and I had had some Bratzillaz (or possibly Project MC2) lower legs in for a while. I really liked the proportions of the lower legs on this body, but I was never happy enough with the actual legs to go ahead and paint them to match.

I dug the doll out again recently and noticed how much the Cave Club thighs looked like G1 MH thighs, just scaled down a bit. @musicalmeowsandcandiedlemons had sent some MH legs a while ago (thanks again!), so I cut them apart to get the lower legs out, then trimmed a bit of plastic off of the knee pegs, and they fit into the Cave Club thighs pretty well.

They didn't match, though. (they had been Draculaura's)

I still didn't feel like dealing with the airbrush, or with mixing (or buying) paint to match, so I rummaged through the Citadel paints in Husband's stash and thought Bestial Brown looked close. I applied it with a broad brush, and it is a little streaky and dark, plus I wanted to protect the paint from possibly sticking to the insides of the shoes, and hosiery addresses all of those issues.

I do not like sewing for dolls this small, but that also means I don't have much that fits them, so I have to make something sometime, and sewed this dress specifically for her today.

I got these rainbow high shoes for the Moniques: Verveine and Verlaine but they're for flat feet. The beach rainbow high? The junior dolls? Thanks to @cosmomoore and venivididolli: they are masquerade Mckeyla's boots

Either way, big feet Cali Lea was on hand and they fit perfectly, she can even stand alone. Maybe that opens possibilities for beach barbies to get shoes?

Please excuse the chihuahua hair everywhere, Talia is shedding her winter coat and I've not been well enough to do the daily heavy brushings.

I got these boots off AliExpress, I have no idea what they are from but they fit Barbies tall & curvy feet like a DREAM!

I must know what brand they’re from! Can anyone Identify them? I thought they were project mc2 doll shoes but they seem too short.

SHE CAME HOME

Here is my Mrs Toad, using Twilight Teenz head, on a Monster High Casta Fierce body with MC2 Project forearms and custom hands. This initially started as I actually bought the body without head or arms from @customdollhairAU ages ago and I just wasn't inspired to finish Mrs Toad as she has such drastic traits that's not very common to see in dolls.

I already started on her outfit as I finished sewing her tights, but I think being able to show off her custom body is fun before I make her dress.

I'm really, really, really proud how this doll turned out though because I really couldn't visualise how she would look as I was working on her.

The face is Project Mc2 Camryn (but I swapped the eyes out for McKaylas green ones) on a barbie made-to-move body and then I repainted the face, sculpted her ears, sewed the dress, crafted and attached the wings and did some curls to her hair. Idk I'm super happy with how she turned out this is something I've been wanting to do for a while. Fairy lady beloved TvT
