  Flagging Off Pune Metro and Marking a Visionary Journey
On August 1st, Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will embark on a significant visit to Pune, Maharashtra. The day will witness a series of momentous events, starting at 11 AM when the Prime Minister will perform Darshan and Pooja at Dagdusheth Mandir. At 11:45 AM, he will be conferred with the prestigious Lokmanya Tilak National Award. Following this, at 12:45 PM, Prime Minister Modi will flag off the metro trains, symbolizing the inauguration of services on completed sections of the two corridors of Pune Metro Phase I.   Pune Metro - A Vision of Modern and Eco-Friendly Urban Transport The Pune Metro, envisioned under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, is poised to revolutionize urban transportation in the city. The newly inaugurated sections, spanning from Phugewadi station to Civil Court station, and Garware College station to Ruby Hall Clinic station, will provide seamless connectivity to vital locations such as Shivaji Nagar, Civil Court, Pune Municipal Corporation office, Pune RTO, and Pune Railway Station. The design of some metro stations draws inspiration from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, adding a touch of cultural heritage to the city's urban landscape. Notably, the Civil Court metro station stands out as one of the deepest in the country, with a unique architectural feature that allows direct sunlight to grace the platform.  
Striving for Sustainable Growth - Waste to Energy Plant Inauguration
Continuing on the path towards sustainable growth, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Waste to Energy Plant under Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). Developed at a cost of approximately Rs 300 crores, the plant aims to utilize about 2.5 lakh MT of waste annually to produce electricity, contributing to environmental conservation and resource optimization.  
Housing for All - A Transformative Vision
As part of the mission to achieve Housing for All, the Prime Minister will hand over more than 1280 houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana by PCMC. Additionally, he will also hand over more than 2650 PMAY houses constructed by Pune Municipal Corporation. Looking forward, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of approximately 1190 PMAY houses to be constructed by PCMC, along with over 6400 houses built by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority. This transformative initiative aims to provide dignified housing for countless families, realizing the dream of Housing for All.  
Prestigious Lokmanya Tilak National Award
Prime Minister Modi's visit to Pune will culminate in a moment of honor as he becomes the 41st recipient of the esteemed Lokmanya Tilak National Award. Instituted in 1983 by the Tilak Smarak Mandir Trust, the award stands as a heartfelt tribute to the legacy of Lokmanya Tilak. It holds great significance, recognizing individuals who have made remarkable and extraordinary contributions to the nation's progress and development. The award ceremony takes place annually on the 1st of August, serving as a poignant commemoration of Lokmanya Tilak's death anniversary and celebrating the extraordinary achievements of distinguished personalities. It has honored luminaries such as Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Shri N. R. Narayana Murthy, and Dr. E.
