Silkling, I really love your writing. Could you please write a TFA fic of Isaac and Bulkhead bonding over growing up on farms?
You know, I always forget Bulkhead grew up on a farm. But I would be thrilled to! I hope it’s to your satisfaction!
———————————————————————————————————
Bulkhead was painting again. That in and of itself wasn’t something new. He painted a lot. What made this time different was that he was alone at the base. Sari had taken the others to something she’d called a “theme park”. He didn’t understand exactly what a park had to have to be called a theme park, but she’d told me it usually involved lots of things called “rides” and lots of games. He also didn’t understand how a ride could be fun, but then again he didn’t know what a ride was. He had a feeling that the way Sari used it, these “rides” weren’t the kind of ride that was defined by the dictionary definition of the word. She had also, helpfully, said that theme parks were always popular and the funnest part of the “rides” was the screaming. He had opted out at that point, being more confused by what exactly that weird park entailed. So, here he was. At the base, alone and painting with peace and quiet.
He rather liked it, actually. He knew Bumblebee didn’t understand, but it was moments like this Bulkhead found himself really getting Prowl. Stillness and quiet could be nice, sometimes. He was intending to do a big project today, wanting to take advantage of the rare peace to be found in their make-shift home. The others had said they’d be gone all day. He wasn’t expecting them back till close to sunset.
So when he heard a voice from the front of the base, he was rather startled. Thankfully, he didn’t ruin his painting as he jerked, and he sighed in relief before dropping the brush in the water pot. Then he turned to the voice, head tilting as it called out again. Oh, wait. He knew that voice! The large bot lumbered towards the unexpected guest, and as soon as the smaller form came into view his engine let out a soft churr of greeting.
“Hey, Professor Sumdac.” he said contentedly. “I didn’t expect to see you here.”
The human had turned at the sound of approaching pedes, his gaze locking on the Autobot at the soft rumble of his engine. He blinked rapidly, not having expected the largest of their alien guests to be the one to greet him. He would have thought it would be Optimus, or perhaps Bumblebee. Still, it wouldn’t do to be rude. He may have had more humble beginnings than most of his wealth, but his mother had taught him manners and he intended to use them. Besides, Bulkhead had been polite enough to come out and greet him, even though he was technically intruding on the gentle giant’s own home.
“Good afternoon, Bulkhead. It is very nice to see you. I apologize for the intrusion, but I was looking for Sari. You wouldn’t happen to know where she is, would you?” he asked hopefully.
Bulkhead only blinked a few times, looking a little surprised. “She took the others to something she called a theme park. I stayed behind. Screaming for fun doesn’t really…sound good. I’m surprised she got Ratchet to go.” he paused. “Actually, that may be because I’m pretty sure she has blackmail on him.” he added, as if to himself. Then he seemed to remember the point of the question, and he frowned at the older human. “She didn’t tell you?”
“That she’s going to a theme park or that she’s blackmailing senior alien robots?” Isaac said dryly. “She told me neither of those things.”
Bulkhead smiled sheepishly. “Sorry, Professor.”
“Ah, don’t worry about it. I’m certain she would have found a way to the theme park either way. I do wish she would stop skipping her lessons, though.”
Bulkhead blinked. “I suppose. You’re very patient with her. On Cybertron, if a youngling consistently misbehaves than their creators wouldn’t be as patient.” he said offhandedly.
Isaac blinked. “Youngling? Is that your word for a child?” he asked. Then the second part of the statement caught up. “Ah, pardon me for asking, but what are “creators”? I was under the impression you are living robotic organisms, not built by someone else.”
Bulkhead hummed. “Yeah, youngling! I’m one, technically. Though I’m closer to being considered a fully grown mech than Bumblebee. I’d be considered the equivalent of a 16 year old human?” he said, running the calculations in his head. “Yeah, somewhere in that range. Bee is the equivalent of a 13 or 14 year old.” He was pretty good with math. His numbers were mostly right, or at least close enough for his point to be understood.
Isaac was staring. “You and Bumblebee…are not yet adults?” he seemed stunned.
“Nope!” Bulkhead was cheerful. “Bossbot and Ratchet are. Prowl is too, I think? He’s really private but I’m pretty sure he is. He’s older than Bossbot is, anyway.” he smiled, humming to himself. “I actually think Prime is only just considered a proper mech? Like, uh….between 19 and 21 in humans terms?” he tapped his chin with a finger, only just then noticing the open mouthed gape the professor was sending him. The large bot squirmed, uncomfortable. “Professor?”
Isaac snapped his mouth shut with a audible click, then shook his head. “You and Bumblebee-“ he cut himself off, shaking his head again before he kept speaking. “You are not yet adult on your world?” he repeated, still internally flailing over that revelation.
Bulkhead blinked. “Well, no.” he said, tilting his head. “Why?”
“Because if you’re still so young you shouldn’t have been allowed off the planet!” Isaac answered, his hands flapping with his distress.
The Autobot frowned. “Well, I’m close enough to being an adult that I’m considered capable of any type of non-combatant work. When I flunked out of the Academy that left space bridge repairs.” he said. “My creators were fine with it cause they were sure I’d be staying in Autobot space territory, and since they know how well I know space bridges they weren’t actually worried about me being in danger.”
“What about Bumblebee? You said he’s even younger than you!”
“Ah….” Bulkhead hunched his shoulders. “Bee, um. He doesn’t have creators. He wasn’t cold-forged, which means he wasn’t just placed in a protoform after Vector Sigma spat out his spark, but he was a abandoned at a Youth Center as a sparkling. A, uh, a baby.” Bulkhead explained awkwardly. He squired at the probing stare. “Please don’t make me explain Cybertronian reproduction differences. Ask Ratchet.” he said desperately. He did not want to have that discussion.
Isaac sighed. “Oh, very well.” he agreed. He didn’t want to make Bulkhead uncomfortable, after all. “So, creators…I gather they are the equivalent of human parents?” he tilted his head. “Would you mind telling me about yours?”
Bulkhead perked up. “Yeah!” he confirmed. “My creators were real proud when I joined the Academy. I’m lucky they weren’t disappointed that I flunked out. They understood.” his gaze went soft and fond. “I do miss them. I know they were a little sad I didn’t want to continue on with the family business like my older brother, but…” he shook his head. “Breakdown didn’t mind staying at the farm. I always wanted more.” he sighed. “Roadbuster and Beachcomber, my creators, were just happy I was getting the chance to do something I wanted.”
Isaac stilled. “Farm?”
“An energon farm!” Bulkhead supplied cheerily. “The farm was built on top of a really big underground energon spring. Our job was to extract it, purify it, then refine it into different grades and types of energon to be shipped out to the rest of Cybertron.” He shot a fond look around the building. “This place reminds me of the energon refinery on the farm, actually.”
Isaac blinked. “You grew up on a farm.” It was a statement.
Bulkhead frowned. “Didn’t I just say that?”
Isaac smiled. “I grew up on a farm as well, Bulkhead.”
The Autobot’s eyes quite literally lit up at that little tidbit, and he shot a glance at the small lounge area they’d put together. “Sit?” he asked hopefully. “I’d like to know about earth farms.”
Isaac nodded, leading the way and taking a seat on the himself couch while Bulkhead sat himself on one of the odd tire seats. “It was a dairy farm, primarily.” Isaac smiled. “My family raised cows for their milk and sold it to stores and at farmer’s markets.” he sounded fond as he reminisced. “We also made our own cheeses. I still have the recipes!”
Bulkhead tilted his head. “What happened?”
“I…” a pause. “I was always good with machines. I suppose that I, like you, wanted more. So I went to school for robotics and then, well…” he put out his arms. “Here I am.”
Bulkhead hummed. “…I miss the farm sometimes. Even if it was annoying to have to get up so early.”
“Ah, yes. Early mornings.” The human groaned. “I remember those. I despised them. Especially when I had cleaning duty for my morning chores.”
Bulkhead made a look it disgust. “Tell me about it. Cleaning out the energon purifiers and refiners was the worst job on the farm, but I always got stuck with it cause I was the youngest.”
Isaac hummed. “I remember the smell, even years later.”
“I remember the slime.”
He paused, unsure if he wanted to know. “…slime?”
Bulkhead nodded. “Yeah, see, when energon is being refined and when it’s being purified, the process involves removing unwanted contaminates or components at a base level.” he tilted his head. “The finished product comes out looking fine, but then it leaves a very thick, sticky slime on the insides of the machines that has to be cleaned out.” He grimaced. “I really preferred the work of extracting the raw stuff from the spring. It was really hard and labor intensive but at least it wasn’t slime.”
Isaac found himself grinning. “I was much the same with the cows. I detested mucking out the barn, so much so that I would prefer to do twice my share of the milking. That was dull work, but at least I could plan out blueprints for my projects in my head while I worked.”
Bulkhead found himself humming softly. “I liked the farm. I would have been happy there, I think. But…”
“It wasn’t what you wanted to do with your life.”
He grinned. “Yeah.” he paused. “I do miss the songs, though. And my brother, though Breakdown is probably annoyed that I missed so many calls. I miss my creators too.” he frowned. “I hope they don’t think I’ve offlined. I was in stasis for a while.”
Isaac softened, sighing and feeling something fond well up in his chest. “I’m sure they held out hope. Speaking as a parent…well, I don’t think I’d ever stop hoping if Sari were to go missing.”
Bulkhead glanced up, then smiled faintly. “Thanks, Professor.”
“You mentioned something about songs?” he asked with a smile in return, hoping to shift to topic in order to cheer up the green bot.
“Yeah!” Bulkhead brightened. “My creators had old songs that were passed down from their creators, and that they taught us. Whenever we were all working together we’d sing!” he seemed fond as he recalled the memories. “It was always really nice. When we were singing, I almost wouldn’t mind cleaning duty.” he shuddered. “Almost.”
Isaac barked a laugh. “I see! My family never had any songs, but we had recipes we shared and cooked together. We would all make dinner together after a hard day’s work. Those were my favorite moments of the day.” he sighed.
“Your parents must be proud of how far you’ve come.” Bulkhead mused.
Isaac smiled sadly. “They’re dead, Bulkhead.”
“Oh…” he reset his vocalizer. “I’m sorry.”
The human sighed. “It is alright. I have had time to mourn and grieve. And you are right. They were very proud. My father was proud even when I left the farm. He was happy to see me trying to pursue a better life. My mother was disappointed that I would not carry on the family legacy.” he sighed and tilted his head up. “But she did come to terms with it. In the end, she was happy for me and proud of all I’d accomplished.” He glanced at the Autobot, considering. “I own the farm now, though I no longer work there and I have far fewer cows. One of my cousins stays there when I am not to take care of the few cows there are, and I return with Sari during holidays sometimes.” he shot Bulkhead a warm grin. “In fact, I was going to bring her there again for the upcoming Fourth of July. Perhaps…you would like to come as well? I can show you life on a human farm in person.” he offered.
Bulkhead almost seemed to vibrate with glee at the prospect. “I’d like that a lot, Professor! And hey, if you’re ever on Cybertron, I’ll show you may farm!” he said brightly.
Isaac laughed, loud and free. He doubted that he’d ever see the alien planet, but the sentiment was still very nice. “I’d like that very much, Bulkhead. Thank you.”
Just then, he heard the sound of approaching engines, and when he looked towards the door he realized he could see the sun setting. Goodness, he and Bulkhead had been talking for hours. As the other bots stopped and transformed, Sari hopped out of Bumblebee before he did so and froze when she saw her father.
“Uh, hiiiiii, dad!” she squeaked.
Isaac sighed. “Sari, you should have told me where you were going! I was worried about you!” he scolded. “Come, we’re returning home. It’s getting late and I have the feeling you haven’t had proper food all day.” he said.
“But dad-!”
“No buts! The car is outside. Go, please.”
She groaned and grumbled, but after a quick goodbye to the others she obeyed.
Isaac turned to Bulkhead, smiling. “Thank you for taking the time to talk to me, Bulkhead. I enjoyed it.”
Bulkhead, for his part, merely beamed in response. “You’re welcome! I had a lot of fun! It was great to learn more about you, Professor Sumdac!”
Isaac smiled. “Please, Bulkhead. You can call me Isaac.” he said warmly.
The Autobot blinked a few times, and before smiling even more brightly. “Right. Isaac.”
Isaac grinned in response. The young bot’s joy was positively infectious. “I would enjoy talking further another time, Bulkhead. For now, I must take my leave. Goodnight!” he said, before walking out the door.
Bulkhead waved. “Goodnight, Isaac!” he called.
When the sounds of the human car had faded into nothing, Bulkhead turned to find everyone else staring at him. He smiled at his teammates, standing from his seat. “Hey guys! Did you have a good day?” he asked. Then he realized he had forgotten his painting. “Awe, scrap. You can tell me about it later! I have to go!” And then he was gone, hurrying to see if his art couldn’t be saved.
Even if it couldn’t, he didn’t mind. He’d gained a new friend today, and that was worth a thousand paintings in his optics.
Back in the main room, Bumblee could only stare after his friend. “Uhhh…what was that all about?”
———————————————————————————————————
And there it is! I hope you liked it! I gave Bulkhead a family because I wanted to, and yes his big brother is Breakdown. That means his brother-in-law is Knock Out. Ratchet is horrified when he learns this. Roadbuster and Beachcomber are very worried for their youngest. They were told he’s dead but like Isaac said, a parent never stops hoping. The team is currently very confused about what they just witnessed.
Also, poor Ratchet. Sari will never let go of her blackmail on him. How does a child get blackmail on a millions-of-years-old giant alien robot? It’s Sari. You could tell me she convinced Megatron to agree to peace purely by annoying him and I’d believe you. I love her. :D Anyway.
Until next time, folks!

What if Sari’s role is being the heir of the recently deceased Professor Sumdac’s Robot Company? ⭐️
*Sari’s father aka Prof. Sumdac had passed away from an illness 2 years before Sari meets the Autobots.
*In this story, her full name is Professor Sarika Sumdac.
*Sari is already an adult when she first meets them.
*This Sari is somewhat more mature and a bit wiser than her canon counterpart, but she has her issues; she’s one of those people that act happy to hide how miserable they truly are inside... she also can’t stand that people keep comparing her to her father or other inventors.
*She’s also way too curious and excited about alien-related stuff sometimes.
*Sari is one of those adults that look like teenagers, so some people don’t take her seriously as the true successor of her father’s company, including Powell.
*Instead of getting an Allspark Key that heals Autobots, Sari was wearing a robotic glove during the time she finds the Allspark, so it gave her an Allspark Power Glove.
*Sari is born a fully organic human in this story (either adopted or genetically created), but she becomes a techno-organic cyborg later on (maybe she was dying and Optimus sacrificed the Allspark Glove to bring her back as a cyborg).
*The Original Prof. Sumdac still discovered Megatron’s head a long time ago and used it to create his advanced, powerful robots that made him so famous... however, since he died before Megatron’s head got revived, Megatron had to trick Sari into helping him instead.
*Before Megatron got revived, Sari thought that his head was a weird giant robot prototype that her father gave up on creating.
*Sari gains a broken pedestal for her father when she learns that most of his inventions came from reverse engineering an alien robot tyrant’s head.
*She also feels super guilty for being tricked into helping Megatron, who made her think that he’s a nameless Autobot Ally.
*The Autobots never blamed her for what happened, because they know she was only trying to help an ‘ally’, but a lot of Detroit decide to blame both her and the Autobots over what happened when Megatron gets his body back.
*It leads to her losing her company to Powell, but she eventually gets it back.
*When she loses her company, it devastated Sari, but the Autobots comfort her and share their home with her.
*Sari later learns to live outside of her dead genius father’s shadow and become her own person.
*Sari is like a sister to Bumblebee, Bulkhead and Prowl.
*She’s also their teacher about Earth stuff.
*Sari sees Ratchet as a grumpy, but lovable grandpa that needs to sleep more.
*He teaches her about Cybertron (but he refuses to talk about the Cybertron War and Megatron, thus Sari didn’t know what Megatron looked like and made it easier for Megatron to trick her).
*Sari secretly views Optimus as a new father figure.
*They bond over trying way too hard to be perfect and never feeling good enough for certain people, whenever they make a mistake.
*They had basically become each other’s therapists.
*Their talks actually helped their mental health.
*Sarika is seen as one of them.
*Unlike in canon, Optimus was part of the first Cybertron War with Ratchet and Prowl.
*Elita died during the war, so Optimus retired as Leader (with Ultra Magnus later taking his place) and became a Spacebridge Repair Bot with Ratchet and Prowl (and later Bumblebee + Bulkhead) to live a more peaceful life.
*Megatron never forgot about Optimus defeating him.
*Blackarachnia was previously an Autobot Scientist named Stella born after the war and is interested in organic life and turned herself techno-organic to become the ‘perfect’ lifeform… she joins the Decepticons so they could give her the supplies to create more perfect lifeforms like her as warriors for them… Has a desire to turn Optimus into her greatest warrior ever… Secretly had a hero crush on him as Stella…
*Her servants are Waspinator the Wasp, Inferno the Fireant and the Dinobots (whom she brainwashed and made techno-organic).
*The Dinobots were created by Sarika and accidentally brought to life by her Allspark Glove; Megatron tricked them all into hating humans, because their cars cause pollution that destroys nature.
*The Autobots and Sarika all decide to spare the Dinobots and take them a human-free island near Detroit (until Blackarachnia had found them).
*Sarika’s twin inventions of music blasting giant robot birds. The Decepticon Soundwave hacks them to steal Sarika’s glove and use it on them themselves, giving them both a spark.
*After failing their ‘Earth Robots attack humans plan’, the birds became Soundwave’s loyal companions.
*Sarika later sees how the Autobots became kinda corrupt after their war and helps Optimus with fixing it.
*She hates Megatron and the Decepticons, but at the same time feels pity for them.

BFFS!
Bumblebee Friends Forever!
I have seen some good art of Sari being friends with Miko and I can see them having an awesome friendship, since they have similar personalities! But you know what would be really amazing to see? Sari having a friendship with Raf in TFA before they met the Autobots!
And here are my reasons why I think this:
*Their personalities are different, but I think that’s what would make their friendship interesting and fun!
*Plus they do have a few things in common: they both love Bumblebee, they both have busy families and didn’t have friends before they met the autobots and they’re both geniuses and hackers! (Though Sari does cheat with the hacking by usually using her key.)
*Raf is a nice and patient kid, so while most kids wouldn’t like Sari cause of her quirks, Raf would roll with it and want to be Sari’s friend.
*Meanwhile, Sari is a brave and loyal friend that would help boost Raf’s confidence and would make sure nobody is mean to him ever again. (You don’t wanna mess with someone who’s friends with giant alien robots, has a smart and rich father and has a body made of metal!)
*When Prof. Sumdac learns that Sari is using her key to hack her robot teacher, he decided to make Raf his daughter’s new teacher and pays Raf’s family to let this happen! XD
*Raf could use his computer skills to upgrade Sparkplug’s AI for Sari so the robot dog could talk.
*Whenever Sari is angry or being stubborn, Raf is the most likely person to calm her down and convince her to listen to reason.
*Raf gets scared whenever there’s an autobot vs decepticon fight, but Sari makes sure he doesn’t get hurt and vice versa.
*When Sari learns that she’s techno-organic and she’s mad at her dad for hiding it and didn’t want to speak to him for a while, Raf tells Sari that he doesn’t care that she’s a robot or that she’s possibly made of Megatron parts, cause she will always be his best friend no matter what. Raf also tells Sari that her father still loved her despite knowing she’s robotic and that if the professor really didn’t see Sari as his daughter, he wouldn’t treat her like she is. This convinces Sari to accept herself and forgive her father for keeping the truth a secret.
*When Sari get upgraded, she doesn’t like that she’s a teenager and finds a way to make herself a child again so she could grow up with Raf!
NOW here’s some things with Raf interacting with TFA autobots and decepticons:
* Like Sari, Raf views all the autobots as the most awesome heroes ever!
*Sari and Raf both love Bumblebee. Bee is always there to support Raf and make Raf smile. Bee is surprisingly quiet and listens to Raf whenever the boy wants to talk. Raf dressed up as Bee for Halloween while Sari dressed up as Optimus. Like Sari, Bee is very protective of Raf.
*Raf looks up to Optimus and sees him as a father figure.
*Raf loves making art with Bulkhead. Raf and Bulkhead also bond as fellow geniuses.
*Raf goes to Prowl’s room whenever the boy wants peace and quiet. Prowl welcomes him inside every time.
*Unlike Sari with her key, Raf became interested in Ratchet’s medical skills and wanted to learn these skills. Ratchet appreciated this and became less grumpy with Raf.
*Megatron and the cons learn Raf is almost as smart as Professor Sumdac and sometimes tries to kidnap him. Starscream tries to kidnap Raf too, but only to anger Megatron and the autobots. Starscream underestimates Raf. But Slipstream knows how smart Raf really is. Raf has mixed feelings for Blackarachnia. He pities her for what happened to her on the spider planet, but he also doesn’t like her for trying to drain the life of everyone in Detroit and then throw Sari of a building for annoying her.
*Raf is Soundwave’s nemesis. Raf didn’t like Soundwave’s music, even before Soundwave became evil. For some reason, this bothers Soundwave and he wants to impress the boy before he destroys Raf and Sari. Because Raf doesn’t like the music, he’s immune to Soundwave’s musical mind control. Which makes Soundwave more obsessed with making Raf love his music.
And those are my headcanons!

How would the AutoBots React If they suddenly get an invitation for a wedding and find out Megatron and Starscream are the ones getting married And the two are actually happily in love? And would they take it smoothly? (For TFP, TFA and G1) (Bonus: Optimus and Megatron are brothers)
G1
Op is shocked when he gets a request for a temporary cease fire.
he’s even more shocked when he finds out it’s for a wedding between Starscream and Megatron.
the Autobots reluctantly agree, and bring extra cubes of energon for the celebration.
The humans are confused, but go along anyway.
Optumuis notice that Soundwave, Skywarp, and Thundercracker are the only one’s armed, and that they were aiming at Megatron.
Ratchet notices that Starscream has a slight bulge in his cockpit.
they put two and two together and figure out that Megatron sparked Starscream up, and now Starscream’s trine and Soundwave want Megatron to step up.
Op congratulates Megs over a private com.
After the wedding, Megs and Op mend their relationship and the war ends
The humans want to know how a giant alien robot had a baby.
TFA
OP and Megs aren't brothers in this, because they didn’t meet until Team Prime found the alspark
First it’s a funeral, because Starscream thought that Op killed Megatron
Star had originally given the bomb to Megatron so he could explode the Team prime’s ship
The humans tag along, because Proff. Sumdac knows that Megatron isn’t dead and wants to comfort Starscream. Sari wants to see a Cybertronian funeral, and Fanzone wants police presence around a dangerous indivisual. Powell is trying to get rights to own Starscream, so he can sell clones of him to human war mongers. Mayor is there to make it official.
When Starscream is about to give his speech about Megatron, the devil appears.
Professor Sumdac finished Megs body before the funeral.
The mayor marries them on the spot, fanzone calls off the force
Team prime is so confused
Lugnut and Blizwing show up with oil
That’s good enough for Bulkhead to not question it
All of the bots and cons (except Optimus and Lugnut) get drunk.
the next morning, Ratchet checks the team.
Blitzwing leaves Bee with a suprise, two of them to be precise.
Tfp
My personal opinion was Megatron was using Starscream to get over Optimus
When Team Prime gets word of the wedding, Op is suspicious
They do end up going with the humans
Mostly because of June
June made them go
Before Starscream gets to the alter, Optimus yells that Starscream’s making a mistake and steals the seeker off.
Megatron runs after them.
Team prime and the cons just sit in silence
they’re just trying to process what happened
The first one to speak is Knockout,
“Who knew that Prime had a thing for seekers!”
Team prime returns to base after that
Team prime finds out that Optimus used to be bonded to Megatron and that they got it removed when he became a prime.
If Megatron got bonded again, then the bond between him and Megatron would be reignited.
Starscream burst out in tears
Megatron told him that he would be his first bonded
the team treats Starscream like he’s made of glass
June actively tries to help Starscream
Starscream medical care ended with Knockout, June is now his physician

162 “I’m just scared you’re going to get tired of me.” “Why?” “Because everyone gets tired of me.” Bulkhead x Reader????
Tumblr media
Prompt: @ourwritingprompts‘s #162 “I’m just scared you’re going to get tired of me.” / “Why?” / “Because everyone gets tired of me.” || Pairing: With TFA Bulkhead || As requested by a mysterious Anon
A/N: Heyo, anon! You didn’t specify which continuity I should work for Bulkhead so I’ll go with TFA then.
For the first time since forever, I have fulfilled a request on time! I really really really have to try doing this if I really want this blog up-to-date. Other than doing requests, I also have one-shots in the works and I’m really really really doing my best, this time, that when I have a story in mind, I should type it down in my phone (since I carry it all the time, obviously). If you also want to request a drabble prompt, check my blog description for the link of the rules.
Other than that, I really love how this one-shot turned out. It’s a pretty wholesome BFF goals kind of thing. Teehee!
Enjoy! ✨
-
He ex-vented heavily. From what his optics can see, you were enjoying the company of, yet again, his closest friend, Bumblebee. He couldn’t say if it made it worse when Jetfire and Jetstorm, and even Blurr came into the picture. Ever since Bee befriended those three, it was like they were the best of friends already, playing Bee’s favorite ninja warrior game. And now, they added you in their ‘circle of friends’.
Truth to be told, even before the Elite Guard came to Earth, you, him and Bumblebee were the ‘circle of friends’. Going for a drive and learning more human customs were your favorite things to do as friends.
When the Elite Guard came, though, everything changed. First, it was Bumblebee. When Jetfire and Jetstorm got fascinated with the yellow Autobot’s videogame, they challenged him and Bee obviously took it. Whenever Bulkhead invited his best friend for a drive, he only replied, “Later, Bulky. These twin losers just challenged me for some ninja warrior clashing.”
He was saddened by that, but when you told him that you can have driving all over Detroit with just the two of you, he was ecstatic. He even got to enjoy the stars with you.
Then, Blurr came. He also got fascinated with Bee’s videogame. And the worst part? Bulkhead never gets the chance to ask you to have a drive or go to the park with him anymore because the blue speedster gets to you faster equal to the speed of light!
Whenever this happens, you could see Bulkhead’s disappointed expression. As much as you wanted to decline Blurr’s invitation, he would already transform and open his driver’s seat door. You would just nasally sigh and just get inside his car mode.
And so, those were the times again that Blurr took you to drive and Bumblee was playing that ninja warrior game with Jetfire and Jetsorm. Bulkhead was just at the side, his art tools with him and doing painting. He was trying to paint the three of you together (though as usual, it was abstract-looking). Prowl approached him and observed his work-in-progress.
“I think you should talk to them, Bulkhead,” Prowl remarked. He had observed the big green Autobot to always be sulking at one side. “They’re your friends. I’m sure you’ll be able to work something out.”
Bulkhead grumbled. “I’m okay with Bumblebee spending time with the twins. I’m more worried with (Y/n). I care for (him/her/them), you know.”
“Then go talk to (him/her/them). Because if you don’t, you may grow apart in time.”
“What am I supposed to say? That (he/she/they) (doesn’t/don’t) spend time with me anymore? That I really don’t like Blurr being in the way?” Bulkhead lowered his ‘paintbrush’ and stared at his work solemnly.
“You don’t need to be too forward. No matter what happens, we’re all friends here now and that makes Blurr as (Y/n)’s friend. Just say what you REALLY feel,” Prowl patted his big friend’s shoulder plate. “If you say what you truly feel, it’ll be fine. (Y/n) is important to you so I know you’ll say something that won’t destroy your friendship.” He then smiled.
Bulkhead mimicked the smile. “Thanks, Prowl.”
***
Blurr just got you back in the base and you could’ve swore you wanted to puke again. You always tell him to drive carefully since you were on a road with actual people in their cars. He would listen, but after some time he would speed up.
“That-was-fun-we-should-do-it-again-oh-wait-we-do-this-all-the-time-so-let’s-have-another-go-tomorrow!” Blurr said in his usual fast-paced tone.
“Blurr, you do know I don’t speak your really fast language. Can you repeat that?” you tiringly asked. The blue Elite Guard bot can be a good friend to be with, but if you can’t keep up with his speed, it can get pretty tiring.
“Fine. Let’s have another go tomorrow,” he reiterated, this time, slower and straight to the point.
“Uh… Can I pass that for the time being? I think I’m going to get sick if I do more of those drives you do.”
Blurr shrugged his shoulder plates. “Fine, fine.” He zipped to Bumblebee’s side still playing a videogame with the twins.
Then, Bulkhead spoke, “Hey, (Y/n).”
You turned to him happily. “Oh, hi, Bulky! How have you’ve been?”
He just hummed, a sad tone evident in his vocal chords. You got worried at once.
“Hey, what’s the matter?”
“I just…” He glanced at Bumblebee’s group then back to you. “I’m just scared that you’re going to get tired of me.”
Your eyes widened. “Why would you think that?”
“Because everyone gets tired of me.” He lowered his helm. “I almost lost Sari back then when Professor Sumdac gave her a Soundwave toy as her new friend during her creation day. Now,” he glanced at Bee’s group again. “I think I’m also losing Bumblebee because of those three.” He looked at you next. “And maybe I could lose you, too, because you’re always with Blurr.”
“Oh, Bulkhead…” You could feel his sadness and anxiety of losing his best friends. You moved closer to him and patted his lower leg joint. “I guess it’s only natural for you to be this worrisome. Well, you don’t need to be so worried, Bulky. One of the things you should take in mind that in life, people come and go, but not true friends. No matter the distance and who we’re with, we’ll always be friends. I may be friends with Blurr and Bumblebee with Jetfire and Jetstorm, but you, me, and him will always have that strong bond of friendship we have with one another. It doesn’t mean that we don’t get to spend time much with you that we got tired of you. Changes are scary, but these also mold us to become better persons. Or, better bots, in your case.” You smiled. “So, all I’m saying, Bulkhead, is that you’ll always be our best friend no matter what.”
“(Y/n)…” Bulkhead’s spark warmed up and he could just shed some coolant in his optics right now.
Then, Bee yelled, “You can’t really defeat the champ, losers! And also, Blurr, STOP PRESSING THE BUTTONS HARD AND FAST! YOU’RE GOING TO DESTROY THE CONTROLLER!”
“That’s-because-I’m-freaking-out-I-couldn’t-win-even-with-my-fast-fingers!” he exclaimed.
Bee just ex-vented. “You know what, you three, you need practice! I’m going out for a drive.”
“We be making sure that practice will defeat you this time!” the twins stated.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, you two.” The yellow Autobot ran to you and Bulkhead. “Hey, you two! Wanna have a drive?” he winked.
You peered at the big military green Autobot with an upward curve on your lips. “See? Eventually, we’ll just come around.”
Bulkhead could feel his faceplates widen into a joyous expression.

Why Sari is so loved, while Miko is a broken base...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sari and Miko have similar personalities and hairstyles, yet they’re treated differently by the fandom...
Sari is so well-liked and probably has the most fanart out of all the human characters while the fandom is split by people that either liked or hated Miko...
Are there reasons for this?...
I think there might be:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Backstories:
Sari: Sari is the 7-year old only child of famous inventor and scientist, Professor Isaac Sumdac. Although her father loves her, he is usually too busy to spend time with her. It gets to the point where Sari has to remind Isaac to take care of himself...
So her dad created robots to both educate, entertain and keep her company. However, the bots weren’t actually alive or sentient. Sari was also home-schooled, had to spend most of her time in her dad’s building and most kids her age didn’t like Sari, cause they thought she was ‘too weird’...
Sari had no real friends, until she met the Autobots...
Miko: Back in Tokyo, Miko (who’s 15 years old) has loving parents, has two pet cats, went to the best school and took piano lessons. But Miko believed her life to be boring, so she temporarily moved to America with foster parents to find some excitement. Her past is never elaborated on after the first 5 episodes...
We don’t truly know Miko’s past, except for what she told us. And there aren’t any later episodes that tell us something like; Miko’s parents are loving yet smothering and overprotective people that hate the things that Miko enjoys... or maybe Miko was lying and her parents were actually neglectful as well as strict... If TFP gave us details like these, then Miko would be more sympathetic like Sari and it would also explain a lot of Miko’s behavior and personality...
However, we never know what Miko’s parents are really like, so it makes Miko come off as kinda ungrateful. There’s also how Miko treats her foster parents; she seems to think pretty poorly of them and ignores them a lot. But we also don’t know what Miko’s foster parents are like, so it makes Miko seem somewhat like a jerk in this situation.

How They Interact With The Autobots:
Sari: Sari views all the Autobots as her friends and family. (She probably views Bumblebee, Bulkhead + Prowl as her big brothers, while Optimus + Ratchet are her robot dad + grandpa respectfully...)
She spends a more-or-less equal amount of time with all of them. She bonds with them as well as help teach them new things about Earth. She was like their guide on things about humanity and their culture. The Autobots also sometimes teaches her about their world.
Miko: Miko cares about all the Autobots too (like her thinking Arcee is the coolest bike ever), but Bulkhead is clearly her favorite. She loves Bulkhead and is quite loyal to him, meanwhile Bulkhead is willing to literally die for Miko. However, their relationship does have it’s flaws... Like for example, Miko usually doesn’t listen to Bulkhead when he tells her not to do something and Miko also doesn’t seem to care about Bulkhead’s past as a builder (before the war), only likes that Bulkhead is big and can destroy things.
Also, Miko never teaches Bulkhead how to create things like music or art, even though she’s both a musician and an artist (meanwhile Sari teaches her own Bulkhead about art). It sometimes makes me feel like Miko only loves Bulkhead for WHAT he is and not WHO he is as a person.

When They Both Make Mistakes:
Sari: Ever since Sari got the Allspark Key, she’s used it to help or heal the Autobots, but she’s also tends to sometimes overuse it’s power for fun.
Which sometimes lead to trouble for her and the Autobots. Although it’s frustrating that the lesson to use her key less didn’t stick, I cut her some slack cause Sari is a 7 year old kid, who was isolated for most of her life and had no friends before the Autobots. So it’s kinda hard to blame her for wanting to use a magical key that can fix, control and transform machines to have fun.
Also, Sari does eventually get her key taken away by Optimus as a punishment for overusing it in the finale episodes of season 1. Then after Sari gets her key back, she used it more responsibility from then on.
Miko: Miko is known to sometimes sneak through groundbridges during important Autobot missions, which usually leads to a situation that almost gets herself and her friends killed. Although she does take responsibility for her actions, she never learns her lesson and never gets properly punished or scolded for her recklessness (unlike Smokescreen, who does get properly scolded). The closest thing Miko got to being scolded is when Jack got mad at her in a few episodes in season 1.
A few times, she even gets rewarded for sneaking off. (Like when she wanted revenge against an insecticon and when she stole the Apex Armor from Starscream...)
I think if she was banished from the base for at least a week, she would’ve probably behaved better.

Comparing Who They Were At The Start Of Their Shows To How They Are At The End:
Sari: Sari is a brave and sweet yet sassy kid, though she does have her bratty moments too when it comes to overusing her key.
Then around the ending of season 1 and start of season 2, she goes through some trauma; She temporarily lost her key and then her father got kidnapped by Megatron once she gets it back and then later she got kicked out of her own home by her father’s jerky rival, who smugly tells her that she doesn’t legally exist. Sari became depressed because of this, but the Autobots stay by her side and keep trying to help her.
Sari also goes through other shocking and traumatic things, but she fights through them and comes out a stronger person then before.
Miko: While Miko is somewhat less bratty and aggressive in season 3, compared to how she was in season 1, she’s still basically the same and she still sneaks out (with Wheeljack’s help) to dangerous giant alien robot battles.

Conclusion:
Sari has more character development and character depth compared to Miko... Also, Sari is somewhat more mature compared to Miko as well, despite being younger... Miko probably felt like a knock off version of Sari to some people... (And it’s kinda hard to blame them, considering that TFP did technically borrow/steal most of the main Autobots from TFA...)
Miko had potential to properly develop as a character too, but one of the problems with TFP’s writing is that they added too many main characters. TFA made a wise choice to only have 1 main human character instead of 3, cause it gave us time to see what Sari is like and it gives her time to properly change/grow. It was time that Miko was never truly given...
If Miko was given the time (and the writer’s changed a few things), then she might’ve become almost as loved as Sari herself!
