Hi! I’ve beaten Octopath 1 (not like the fully fully beat but I did all chapters) and Octo 2 (not extra fights but like closing in on 100% and I’m gunning for it just have super bosses left) for like qualifications

I found that for both games I never found the need to grind for money or levels (forgot to use money mid game after early game being frugal cuz I couldn’t afford anything then mid game most shop gear is meh), but also my gameplay experience was after the early game I tried to fully explore the map and definitely fighting those areas (and for Octo 2 also bosses I think my best was I fought a boss 20ish levels below recommended) put my levels either on par naturally with the progression or sometimes over leveled :) I will say I found lategame money becomes basically free especially if you typically use steal over purchase

#Pro tip for fighting when way underleveled USE POISON!!#it does damage based on enemy I don’t know exactly how much but it’s one action every 2 turns #and poison does so much damage to non-bosses (like 1/4 or 1/3 it’s crazy)#for boss fights it does have a cap (I think for said 20 levels under fight with occasional boosted hits accounted for like 100 turns)#TLDR explore and fight map bosses if you’re underleveled it’s fun :)#also I found especially for octo 2 which I’d played octo 1 already having those really hard fights of underleveled glory were fun #Took resets and strategy and fight tempo very fun
