I know my experience is not universal, but I biked 5+ miles to do my errands today and I genuinely think we'd be much happier as a human collective if we increased residential density and switched to largely alternative modes of transportation.
#I don't know /how/ you'd do it exactly but this is my vision:#all cars are kept outside a certain perimeter. you can own a car and rent your outside-the-city parking spot;#or you can just reserve/rent a communally owned car when you need one#trucks and deliveries can cross the perimeter on a job but after the work is finished they must be returned to the exterior#inside the city perimeter you can: walk or run; bike or scooter or skateboard#or you can take public transit! there are many more buses and they can move much more freely in a car-less environment#there is also the option of cabs but - and this is key - the cabbies are unionized and the service is public#like the trains and buses.#there is no privately-controlled transit in the city. it belongs to everyone.#and because the lines of parked cars disappear from the streets; they are much better utilized#more kids play in the street. more block parties. more street fairs.#take back the space!!!#anyway this is my vision.#celestial emporium of benevolent knowledge

I’m becoming who I’m meant to be, slowly.
I’m inhabiting my body as a home as I make it such that it is a home for me.
💖😌✨
Also it’s a lovely studio! Masks required, hepa filters running, quiet area, but still near a bus route, was quiet once some of the people left (my artist was also super surprised that all of the tables were in use when they arrived at the shop too!!) and even though we didn’t chat (they put in their faq basically that they often forget to chat so bring headphones or whatever to do while they work) it wasn’t awkward or anything. It felt like such a safe space and I adore it so much :) (and it’s more local to get to than the other one that I’m definitely also going to go back to too at some point hopefully this year) (yay local queer owned covid cautious studios!!!!!)
#shatters’ tattoos#shatters’ fragments#ok time to eat something else#bc it’s been a while since my last meal even if I took breaks while tattoo#had a juice box for the first break before we drew the plant in there#and then before we did my leg while they were printing out the design I had a granola bar and water#and then afterwards I had a chocolate bar and another juice box and water#and then for the buses home I just had some water between buses but considered if I wanted a fourth juice box today but I didn’t really#but now I’m a bit hungry#today was fucking WEIRD at first#like popping in real quick to work?!?#class!! which I’m actually SUPER EXCITED for and about its great so far#and then walked around with a classmate who’s probably now my friend and popped into a bookstore#but it was super hot by then too#so I went off to get close to the studio#and had sushi in the shade of the parking lot before walking over#and trying to like. drink water and stay hydrated before going in#was definitely intimidated by how many people were in the shop at first#they said that it was highly unusual for all chairs/tables to be in use at once#(and they own the place!!)#but it’s such a lovely and welcoming space tbh#I’ve been to the studio once before for a market#but this is the first time I’ve been while it’s set up as a tattoo studio (it’s usual use)#and it’s just so good 💖#truly made my day really nice at the end#finally got to cool down quite a bit once I was sitting still and then laying down for the tattoos#(…actually I’m a little annoyed I paid $9 for coffee this morning actually but alas anyway)#and it was just. SO NICE#similar vibes but like cozier than the other shop I go to#it has less tables and its more private and accessibility is a huge thing there

public transit... *collapses to the floor*
#rich ppl have a disdain for it and it's so nonexistent in white suburbia but then you go to where rich people vacation.#public transit is so good at where they have vacation. free shuttles every 10 20 minutes. free! free!!!#I'm struggling to put the words together to make myself sound coherent but ultimately it's hypocrisy of the upper class#it's probably a bigger issue than just that really. obviously policy is not entirely dictated by individual and idk#it's just rahhh i wish public transit was like that everywhere! buses to go around towns! subways connecting towns! and cheap!! free even!!#there's also the issue of the loss of public spaces and loss of the concept of public in general#the other day there were kids screaming obscene stuff on the train for a whole 30 minutes. ppl were annoyed and everything#but one person's defense of their behavior on the train was dude you're taking public transit. and idk why that's. idk.#is a respectful peaceful transit also now a privilege only the rich can enjoy? only if you can afford a car and parking in the city?#the argument is that precisely because it's a public space that we all benefit from we have the duty to respect and protect it#because if the public space is uninhabitable then that's when inequality grows very apparent#you have to maintain it for the sake of everyone but especially those who might not want to or can't access the private#these kids themselves can't drive a car. if the public transit was hostile to them what other choice do they have for commute?#it's a failure of our society and education that we don't understand how important it is to protect the public spaces#by ridding of the public it's a fuck you to the children the elderly the poor the disabled or anyone caught in an unfortunate circumstance#twist your ankle accidentally? sucks for you. there are no benches here. to sit you must go buy a drink at a cafe.#car broke down? too bad. take an expensive uber to work because the public transit is broken down#having good public facilities is a safety net against drastic inequality and even then we don't have it done well enough#but societal issues take time to fix and I'd like to hope it's going in a better direction

Tell me why the last bus to the train station is an hour before my train. And why the bus after that is three hours after my train. What the fuck is that about.
#I hate the public transport in this city it’s so useless it’s so unreliable#half the time the buses come five minutes early and don’t wait. which means that even if you get your timings correct to schedule you miss#them. and then they go ‘oh to correct it we’re sending the next bus five minutes later’ what? why? how does that help me?!#I hate that two singles is cheaper than a return.#I hate that if you’re in town for less than an hour or if there’s more than one of you it’s cheaper to drive and park than get the bus#I hate that half the time the ‘live map’ on the app with the live timetable is just blatantly wrong#I hate that the buses to the surrounding villages are so indirect and so infrequent#I was calculating how to get to a class I teach by bus last year when my car was out of service#and a drive that takes me 14 minutes would have take me 48 minutes by bus because I’d have to change over twice#I hate when people say I’m lucky to live in a place with good public transport when it’s really not got#and also all run by private companies who are only in it for the money. we should really think about nationalising public transport

re: this post
i’m so glad you’re one of the few people who doesn’t follow her blindly and criticizes her. i know she’s very famous so she can’t do tour buses like many of my faves do, but she can very well reduce the amount of private flights she takes. it’s very fair to criticize her for that because she’s harming the environment by doing this, and in the process harming us since, surprise surprise, we all live in the same planet that’s going through an environmental crisis. i don’t know, just thank you for your willingness to criticize her when it’s deserved, love you <3
Thank you!! Love you too!
#and yeah i get that tour buses and public flights aren't really an option for her#but she doesn't need to fly this often....#there are ways to go about using a private jet in a moderate way#asks#logan

Exploring the Benefits of Private Charter Bus Services
In the realm of travel and transportation, convenience, comfort, and reliability are paramount.
For those planning group outings or corporate events, opting for a private charter bus service can significantly enhance the overall experience.
Whether embarking on a scenic tour from Vancouver to Banff or organizing a corporate retreat, the choice of transportation plays a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey.
Anthem Bus Charters understands these needs and offers tailored solutions to meet diverse travel requirements.
Safety and Reliability
Safety is another crucial factor when choosing transportation services, especially for group travel.
Anthem Bus Charters prioritizes passenger safety by ensuring that all vehicles are well-maintained and operated by experienced drivers with excellent safety records.
This commitment to safety extends to adhering to rigorous maintenance schedules and complying with industry standards and regulations.
Furthermore, private charter buses offer reliability that other forms of transportation may not guarantee.
Drivers are familiar with the routes and logistics involved, minimizing the risk of getting lost or encountering unforeseen obstacles.
This reliability instills confidence in passengers, allowing them to focus on enjoying their journey rather than worrying about transportation logistics.
Comfort and Convenience
One of the primary advantages of choosing a private charter bus is the unparalleled comfort it provides.
Unlike public transportation or carpooling, charter buses offer spacious interiors with ample legroom, reclining seats, and often amenities such as Wi-Fi, power outlets, and onboard entertainment systems.
This ensures that passengers can relax, work, or socialize comfortably throughout the journey, making even long trips enjoyable and productive.
Moreover, private charter buses provide unmatched convenience. They eliminate the hassle of coordinating multiple vehicles or relying on unpredictable schedules.
With a dedicated charter bus, groups can adhere to their own itinerary, making stops as needed and traveling directly to their destination without unnecessary delays.
This level of flexibility is particularly beneficial for tours, corporate events, weddings, and other special occasions where timing and logistics are critical.
Cost-Effectiveness
Contrary to common misconceptions, private charter bus services can be cost-effective, especially for large groups.
When compared to individual car rentals or air travel for each participant, chartering a bus often proves to be more economical.
The cost per person decreases significantly as more passengers share the expenses, making it a practical choice for budget-conscious travelers and event planners alike.
Moreover, the transparent pricing structure offered by Anthem Bus Charters ensures that customers understand exactly what is included in their package, from mileage to additional amenities.
This transparency eliminates surprises and allows for accurate budgeting, further enhancing the appeal of private charter buses for group travel arrangements.
Environmentally Friendly Option
In an era where environmental sustainability is increasingly prioritized, private charter buses offer a greener alternative to individual car travel.
By consolidating transportation for a large group into a single vehicle, charter buses help reduce carbon emissions per passenger compared to multiple smaller vehicles on the road.
Anthem Bus Charters is committed to minimizing its environmental impact by maintaining a modern fleet with fuel-efficient engines and promoting eco-friendly travel practices among its clients.
Conclusion
With a commitment to exceptional service and customer satisfaction, Anthem Bus Charters stands out as a premier provider in the transportation industry, dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of its clientele.
For those seeking stress-free and efficient travel solutions, a private charter bus is undoubtedly a wise choice.

This was a WWI centenary remembrance initiative between Purfleet Heritage Centre in Thurrock and Ensign Buses - 26 buses carried the name and details of a solider from Purfleet who died during WWI . Since Ensign also have buses for hire this one must have been taken out of service and used for the filming. Given that all the plaques were removed from the buses at the end of 2018 it’s rather lovely that William’s memorial gets to remain on film.
Hi Neil. I hope this is ok. I don't mean to be disrespectful to anybody. I was looking at the bus when Crowley and Aziraphale go back to London. It has a sign on the side that I was expecting was an ad for something, but instead it reads: "Private William Watkins 8th Batallion The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 21st August 1916" I was a little curious and found out he was a real person who died in action at the Battle of the Somme. So I guess my question is whether there is a GO connection somewhere or not at all and maybe it just came with the bus
The sign came with the bus.
