An Overview on Stretch Ceiling
The stretch ceiling is the ‘modern version’ of the decorated ceiling in the panel form or fixed on the plastic or the ‘metal profile’ on a ceiling. It combines security, safety and the bright style which is a good choice for the modern ‘interior designer’.
The Different Types of Stretch Ceilings
There are basically two types of stretch ceilings, that is the PVC stretch ceiling and the textile stretch ceiling.
The PVC Stretch Ceiling: The polyvinylchloride stretch ceiling depends on a vinyl film. During the procedure of mounting, the sheet of film is heated by the gas guns to a temperature of 70 degrees. Then the softened film is fastened and stretched on the prepared frame. These translucent ceiling panels are available in the satin, matte and glossy textures.
1) The Glossy Type: This type of ceiling creates a mirror effect which creates the illusion of a visually elevated ceiling.
2) The Mat Type: This type of ceiling accentuates easily any kind of interior. This type of ceiling can be called a classic choice. The absence of the mirroring and the reflections on the ceiling’s surface contribute to the right shade you choose.
3) The Satin Type: The surface of the satin type of ceiling is smooth but is very similar to the ‘matte stretch ceiling’. The moderate reflections of light betray the pearlescent ceiling shade.
The Textile Stretch Ceiling: The textile stretch or the printed stretch ceiling can be installed without any heating or processing. The ‘textile web’ polystyrene yarn is impregnated with the mixture of the polymer. This type of ceiling is available in a wide array of colors.
The Merits Associated with a Stretch Ceiling
a) The stretch ceiling’s canvas is made of the plastic material. It helps in creating even surfaces which make complex ceilings, which have multiple vaults and levels.
b) White satin or mat canvas helps in achieving the effect of a smooth ceiling.
c) It takes about 3 to about 5 hours for installing a ‘one-level’ ceiling and it takes about 2 to 3 days for installing the multi-level one, which depends on how complex the structure is.
The best thing about 3D stretch ceiling is that a wide selection of the textures and the rich host of colors make it very easy for choosing the right stretch ceiling for customers with different tastes.
