Custom Retail Product Boxes Value and Worth
Tumblr media
The client is going to feel if the one wrapping has all the correct features and allure, there is no point in going through numerous other goods. That said, the state can be the complete reverse if it doesn’t have the correct appeal. When packaging doesn’t have the correct appeal, the products lose their charm and elegance. But when your Product Boxes itself is grey and boring, forget about gifts; the goods will not be worth buying for the customers.
Product Boxes are Free from all Damages

Brands recognize they cannot keep their goods with them after engineering and wrapping them up. They want to send these to their endpoint, which means delivery to diverse places near or far. Well, seeing that, with this much wandering, the packaging needs to be robust and reliable. Since if the packaging isn’t robust, the products will be at countless risks of getting hurt. Retain in mind clients immediately cast-off goods that are not in their faultless condition. Retail Boxes are always in perfect condition.

So, you want to make sure you are presenting them with something that is fashionable and exciting. You must retain in mind one vital factor. Taking a Lighthearted Look at the World of Public Platforms while Standing Tall atop Soap Boxes
Tumblr media
The soap box is a little but powerful prop that has been used in many speeches, tirades, and impassioned pronouncements in the context of daily life. This simple wooden platform may not be as elegant as a podium, but for people with a lot to say and a small audience, it has shown to be a reliable ally when it comes to self-expression.
The Soap Box's Ascent
Once upon a time, in the busy streets of bygone days, custom soap boxes served a purpose beyond just holding detergent; they were a pass to the tradition known as soapbox oratory, which provided a voice to anybody with an opinion and a strong set of vocal chords. Imagine the following scene: a busy marketplace with people bargaining over prices, and in the middle of it all, someone perched on a soap boxes Brisbane, ready to share their opinions like a hyperbolic pint-pourer.
Dishes to Conversations
Have you ever pondered why these spontaneous monologues started to happen on Soap boxes Canberra? As it happens, these wooden marvels were the hidden heroes of the grocery store—sturdy, easily accessible, and great for promoting not only the benefits of soap but also the vocal prowess of the average person.
Thus, bear in mind that the next time you're doing the dishes and contemplating that empty soap boxes Hobart, you're cradling a possible platform for your very own stand-up performance, not simply a piece of packaging.
The Soap Box Speech: An Art Form
Writing a speech for a soap box is an art form in and of itself. A certain amount of humor, passion, and verbosity must be balanced in order to keep the listener interested. Similar to a verbal tap dance, the artist must watch out for stepping on audience members' toes and hope they don't hurl tomatoes.
Imagine it like a TED Talk, only on a more accessible and affordable platform, and with a greater likelihood of running into a pigeon audience criticism.
Soap Boxes in the Modern Era
In today's digital age, where everyone has a smartphone and a platform to voice their opinions, the physical soap box Melbourne might seem like a relic of the past. However, don't be too quick to dismiss its charm. The virtual soap box is alive and well, with social media platforms serving as the new-age equivalent.
Scroll through your Twitter feed, and you'll find virtual soap boxes Adelaide aplenty, where people passionately discuss everything from the meaning of life to the proper way to eat a taco. Who knew 280 characters could hold so much wisdom (or chaos)?
Soap Box Chronicles: Tales from the Streets
Let's take a moment to appreciate the unsung heroes who elevated the soap box from a mere packaging accessory to a symbol of free speech. In the annals of soap box history, there are legends of impassioned rants, heartfelt declarations, and, of course, a fair share of comedic blunders.
Imagine a passionate speaker making a grand point, only to have their soap box collapse beneath them, turning their eloquent speech into an unintentional pratfall.
Soap Boxes Come Together: The Social Aspect
The power of the soap box to unite communities as well as elevate a single voice is what makes it so beautiful. Street corners became impromptu debate clubs, and soap box speakers were the unsolicited philosophers of the people.
It's like a town hall meeting, but with less bureaucracy and more chance of someone selling artisanal honey on the side.
DIY Soap Box: Crafting Your Soapbox Legacy
Feeling inspired to join the ranks of soap box orators? Fear not, for crafting your very own soap box is as easy as convincing your cat to take a bath (and we all know how simple that is).
Step 1: Acquire a Box
Find a sturdy box – preferably one that held something interesting, like a shipment of exotic fruits or a collection of rubber duckies. Keep in mind that the box already tells a tale before you do.
Step 2: Reinforce the Structure
No one wants a soap box collapse mid-sentence. Reinforce the corners with tape or, if you're feeling particularly handy, duct tape. Because nothing says "I'm serious about my opinions" like the universal fix-all.
Step 3: Add Personality
This is your soap box, not just a soap box. Decorate it with stickers, paint, or glitter – whatever screams "you." After all, if you're going to stand on a soap box, you might as well do it in style.
The Soap Box Legacy Continues
As we bask in the glory of the soap box legacy, let's appreciate the simplicity of this unassuming stage. These platforms—from the virtual soap boxes Perth of today to the streets of the past—remain a monument to the human desire for connection, expression, and the odd laugh.
So, the next time you find yourself on a verbal tangent about the merits of pineapple on pizza or the proper way to fold socks, just remember – you're not alone. You're simply carrying on the time-honored tradition of standing tall on a soap box, making the world laugh, think, and maybe reconsider their sock-folding technique.

How to Find Cost-Effective Soap Boxes Wholesale Suppliers
Elevate Your Brand without Breaking the Bank
In the competitive world of handmade soaps, captivating packaging can be the difference between a forgotten bar on the shelf and a treasured gift in someone's bathroom. But while beautiful custom soap boxes can elevate your brand, the cost can become a slippery bar of worry. So, how do you find Soap Boxes Wholesale suppliers that offer budget-friendly solutions without sacrificing quality or branding? Don't lather yourself in stress; dive into these effective tips and discover the perfect Custom Soap Boxes partner for your handmade sudsy creations.
Know Your Needs Before You Sift Through Soap Box Suppliers:
Before you embark on your Soap Boxes Wholesale quest, take a moment to map out your packaging needs. Consider:
Soap Size and Shape: Will your boxes house petite guest soaps or luxurious bath bars? Are they round, square, or delightfully quirky shapes? Knowing dimensions helps narrow down Soap Boxes Wholesale options.
Branding and Design: Do you have a clear brand identity with specific colors, fonts, and logos? Will you need printed soap boxes or prefer customizable options? The more defined your vision, the easier it is to find Soap Boxes Wholesale suppliers who can match it.
Quantity and Order Frequency: How many soap boxes do you need initially, and how often will you reorder? Bulk discounts at Soap Boxes Wholesale suppliers can be significant, but overstocking can tie up capital.
Sustainability Concerns: Are eco-friendly materials like recycled paper or biodegradable options important to your brand? Look for Soap Boxes Wholesale suppliers that prioritize sustainable practices.
Diving into the Pool of Soap Boxes Wholesale Suppliers:
With your needs mapped out, it's time to explore the vast ocean of Soap Boxes Wholesale suppliers. Here are some effective ways to cast your net:
Online Directories: Alibaba, Global Sources, and TradeKey are excellent platforms to connect with international Soap Boxes Wholesale manufacturers.
Packaging Industry Websites: Resources like Packaging of the World and The Dieline showcase innovative packaging solutions and often feature supplier listings.
Local Packaging Companies: Don't overlook local printing and packaging houses. They may offer competitive prices and personalized service for smaller orders.
Recommendations and Reviews: Ask fellow soap makers, industry professionals, and online communities for recommendations on reliable and cost-effective Soap Boxes Wholesale suppliers.
Negotiating the Best Deal on Soap Boxes Wholesale:
Once you've identified potential Soap Boxes Wholesale partners, it's time to negotiate the best deal. Remember:
Compare Quotes: Get quotes from several suppliers, comparing prices, minimum order quantities, customization options, and shipping costs.
Ask About Bulk Discounts: Many Soap Boxes Wholesale suppliers offer significant discounts for larger orders. Negotiate based on your projected needs.
Consider Payment Terms: Some suppliers offer early payment discounts or extended credit terms. Choose the option that best suits your cash flow.
Don't Be Afraid to Haggle: Within reason, politely negotiate price and terms. Remember, Soap Boxes Wholesale suppliers are often eager to secure new customers.

here is my deeply cringe shelf of funko pops that started when i asked my family for an ugly christmas sweater that had tyrion on it and said “i drink and i know things” as a joke and my sibling got it for me bc they got the joke but my grandpa was scandalized that i was talking about being drunk on christmas so he compromised by getting the tyrion funko pop,,,,, and then I thought he looked lonely on my shelf 😭😭
unfortunately the Starklings have banished tyrion due to crimes of Being Insufferable but don’t worry he’s got new friends, he’s got his patchouli satchel, he’s got his fancy pumpkin, he is doing just fine, he’s even in therapy now!

And they were roommates
(Captain John price x F!reader)
Summary: that captain wants somewhere more homely to settle down and when an offer like yours comes alight on Zillow he must take up on it.
Warnings: none yet
Part 1 - part 2 - part 3 - part 4
Tumblr media
———————
“John Price, military captain, heavily decorated, and unmarried.” you read off of a printed sheet of paper. He’s the third person you’ve seen today that wants to rent the room available. You were praying this one would be a success. You weren’t looking to house the married couples or the rowdy in love teenagers you’d seen earlier on today.
“Yes ma’am that is me.” He says looking down at you, not metaphorically but physically he’s inches above you. You’re far younger than he imagined, beautiful and so awfully well spoken that he’d assumed you’d be either his age or older.
“If this is your job and you’re not married and don't have kids I’m sure you get paid well. Why do you need a roommate?” You say hoping you don’t sound rude but with a job like that this man could afford much better.
“I’m not home much and basically live on base but for the times I do briefly return home id like it to be in a place like your home, beautiful, deserted, quiet.” The last few places he stayed in were apartments and he wanted to settle into something he actually cared to return to, not just someplace that could hold some belongings.
“Well then Mr.Price let me show you the rooms and house, follow me.” You lead him into your home through the halls and the living room simply showing him around making small talk about your job and hobbies.
“If you don’t mind me asking why is it you need a roommate?” He later returns the question, you halt in your tracks and stand still for a second making John hope he hadn’t overstepped.
“I was in a long term relationship that ended two years ago and when we broke up he left me the house or I technically demanded I keep it and um bills have been hard to keep up with.” You Look him in the eyes and smile softly, relieving him of the anxious feeling he’s holding.
“Sorry for asking.” He sincerely apologizes.
“Don’t worry about it, I think it's better you did because this will lead us to the next thing.” You reassure him and continue walking through a pair of French doors.
“This will be your office, I’m sorry about the boxes, they're a little too heavy for me to carry through this house and throw away.” You point to a fair amount of them pushed into a corner.
“No, don't worry about it, I'll get them out.” He replies kindly.
“And then right through here would be your bedroom.” It's exactly to the right of his office, a huge room which must be the master. He wonders if this had been the room you shared with your ex and by the look that covers your gorgeous features, he’s right.
“It has its own bathroom and a walk-in closet. If you want to live here, I’d like the home to be treated as if we both own it, not like you just rent a room, especially for the price.” You explain and truly that is your hope. He’s the perfect tenant and on his submission form he’s looking for a long term place which would mean less worry about the future bills on your behalf.
“When can I start moving in?” He turns to look in your hopeful eyes.
“Immediately if you want it of course.” You say with excitement. The mortgage payments have been a burden and this was a huge relief.
“Is it okay if I have some of my mates help me take these boxes out?” You nod enthusiastically with a quiet
‘of course’.
“I'll be back here early in the morning, Thankyou for inviting me into your home.” He says turning to make way back down the path you took to the room.
“Thankyou Mr.Price.” You offer your hand as a settlement.
“Call me John please.” He shakes it politely.
“I'll see you tomorrow john.” You say walking him to the door and bidding him a goodbye.
—————-
“Be honest captain, is she cute?” John had the unfortunate situation of having to haul soap with him in his car while the two other men drove the moving truck that he only rented to get rid of the boxes you had.
“She’s nearly a decade younger than me.” He answers hoping that’ll lay it to rest.
‘That doesn’t answer my question.” Soap never chooses peace.
“Yeah she’s stunning.” And really you were.
—————————-
“Hi good morning, come in.” You say opening the door letting the cold air sweep into your warm home. Eyeing the huge men that stood in the doorway.
“Good morning this is soap, gaz, and that's ghost if you couldn’t tell. This is my task force and certainly my best mates.” John replies quickly giving them an introduction.
“Nice to meet you all.” You say trying your hardest to not sound intimidated.
“And you as well, gorgeous.” Soap says gripping your small hand in his own.
“He’s a flirt, don't worry about him.” Gaz says, shaking your hand next.
“Nice to meet you.” Ghost offers you his gloved hand giving you the softest handshake he thinks he’s ever given in his life.
“Well you boys can get too it there is pastries on the counter and drinks in the fridge if you need anything i'll be in my room that’s down this hall.” You say smiling at all of them then reaching into the pocket on your paint stained overalls fishing out a pair of keys.
“Oh and before I can forget John these are yours, this one is too your office and bedroom door and this one is too the house door.” You say handing them over on the pink keychain you’ve kept them on all this time.
“Thank you.” He says before you walk away.
————————
“That little lady does not know how to pack these. They are insanely heavy, how'd she ever expect to get them out.” Soap says picking up a box from the office room that’s filled with papers.
“I don’t think that was her main concern.” John says as he also picks one up walking them outside and into the U-Haul he rented.
“She’s a true stunner though, how will John Price be able to resist?” He teases his captain.
“I’m with soap on that one.” Ghost surprisingly grumbles throwing a box down on the gravel.
“Should’ve seen the way she was looking at you captain.” Gaz enters this pointless conversation out of breath gently setting down more boxes.
“I actually think you're the only one here whose age is appropriate for her gaz.” Gaz makes a sound of disagreement.
“Captain 8 years isn’t what you’re making it seem, don't you remember when soap had a girlfriend like 13 years older than him.” The memory flashes through all their minds and ghost has to keep himself from giggling.
“And don’t you remember how it ended.” It was ugly, soap found that when time passes people get older and being 37 with a 50 year old wasn’t what he thought it’d be.
“All I’m saying is I think some romance with a pretty lady like that could do you some good. I mean your living in a home together tension will get to you at some point.” John rolls his shoulders back and sighs.
“Shut up and get back to work, all of you.” The captain says demanding as they all hurry back inside.
But what if?
——————-
“Wow, I don't know when’s the last time I've seen these rooms empty.” You say walking into the office.
“Was it all his?” John says giving you a one up at the change in clothes. You're wearing your pajamas which consist of shorts and a big shirt.
“Yeah it was, when will you be bringing in your own stuff?” You reply quickly changing the topic.
“I actually have all my stuff in my truck, only three boxes, I’m not a man of many possessions.” He laughs Gruffly swiping a hand over his mouth.
“I have clean sheets in my closet if you’ll be needing some.” You offer politely.
“Please.” He says and you nod, turning to go get them.
“I’ll just be bringing in the rest of my belongings.” He says walking down the opposite end of the hallway.
He brings the boxes in one by one, setting them in the office not paying mind to where you could have gone till he brings the last one in and hears you humming in the bedroom putting what were to be his pillows inside pillow cases.
“Oh love you didn’t have too. I've been making my own bed on base for longer than my memory goes back.” His deep voice slightly startles you.
“Sorry, it's just a habit.” You apologize softly and he wonders if it came off the wrong way.
“No, Thankyou is what I really mean.” He says slightly smiling at the floral print sheets that now adorn his bed.
“Sorry these are actually the least feminine looking ones I have.” You smile realizing how silly it looks for a man as manly as the one who stands before you to have blue and pink flower sheets.
“No worries love.” He nods to you.
“Well I'll see you in the morning, goodnight.” You say giving him a small pat on the shoulder and leaving to what he could only assume to be your bedroom.
He got changed for the night, ready to settle into bed. As soon as his head hit the pillows the scent of lavender and a perfume that had to solely be you was invading his senses. Something so feminine and warm and good, god was it good. He turned his head slightly more into the pillow taking a deep breath in and out enjoying it. The more he focused on it the easier the sleep had come and before he knew it he was sleeping like a bear in hibernation.

I’m ready for a new story.

Creating the Perfect Custom Boxes
Tumblr media
If brands want to be in the lead, they need to know that their Custom Boxes will make all the difference for them. Which is why they need to pay equal attention to the choices and ensure they are perfect in every way. With the help of the following factors, brands can definitely ensure they are on the right path.
Selection of Material Should Be Top Notch
There are plenty of packaging material choices brands can get. They can choose whichever they deem ideal for the product. But often, brands will not know which custom packaging material to go for. And they end up buying the wrong choice. The thing is, they first need to study their own product. Mainly for the reason not every material will go with their goods. Now if they end up buying a material that is not suitable for their item, the end results will be horrible. For instance, they have sensitive devices and they need to send them all over. But when it comes to the packaging, it’s not ideal. It won’t be able to offer the right kind of protection. Or it’s not capable of securing the product from external hazards. Or the quality is just not good enough to hold the shape of the packaging. The end result will be the product getting in trouble. Given this factor, brands need to realize they cannot do away without reliable packaging material. It needs to be top notch and the best thing for the product.
Material Needs To Reflect Finesse
The packaging is the true and honest reflection of the product that is packed inside it. If the retail boxes material is of poor quality, with no finesse, then the buyers will get a wrong impression of the product too. They will think that the product is being charged high for no reason, because there is nothing of quality inside. Which is wrong though. But they can’t help it. Because this is what the packaging is telling them. Mainly brands used low quality material because for them, it’s only the product that matters. But they need to know that to the customers, both matter. But first it’s the packaging that is going to matter to them and make the right impression. If it does, then they go to the product. With that in mind, the packaging material needs to be of the finest quality offering finesse and smoothness. It needs to be so sexy in finish that no one can resist it. Even the people that do not need the product.
The Options Need To Offer Maximum Protection
Strong and sturdy packaging is the way to go for products. If brands want their items to reach out to the world safe and secure. Because when the packaging is not doing its thing, it’s the item that is going to suffer. Moreover, when the product becomes useless, there is no point of buying it either. This product is usually returned to the maker or thrown away without a care. In the end, it’s the manufacturer who suffers because first it spent a lot of money to produce the item, and then it didn’t get the owner any product. Moreover, it was sent back and the maker had to pay for that too. To avoid such instances, brands from the beginning need to ensure they are purchasing packaging material that will offer them the best in terms of protection. No matter what phase or process the packaging goes through, the product needs to remain usable, intact and in the best condition. In other words, the packaging needs to protect the item from all kinds of harm and damage.
The Soap Packaging Should Be Easy To Get Rid Of
Often brands are not careful with the material they are choosing. Yes, we know we have already covered the material aspect. But not from this angle. The thing is, the material needs to be the best in every way. From it being of the highest standards, offering the best kind of strength to it being eco-friendly. Yes, this is the one thing we did not cover. When a Soap Packaging material is something not easy to get rid of, it doesn’t recycle, dispose or cannot be reused, then it’s a flawed option. It is going to be something the buyers are instantly going to refuse or reject to buy. Because of the material alone. At times, buyers won’t even care about the cost of the alternate product they are choosing. They will pay a higher price if they have to, but they won’t afford to damage the earth any further. That’s how careful they are these days with their selection. Similarly, when it comes to design, they will go for a less appealing one if they have to, but they will not select a product packed in non-disposable and non-recyclable material.
Moving on, brands need to be wary about being sustainable as well. They needn’t use too much of packaging. From the very beginning, the material needs to be light in weight. But at the same time, it needs to offer the right kind of protection. Because when it doesn’t, brands need to take aid from fillers and other cushioning elements. Not only will this make the final product heavy in weight but there will be a lot of waste as well. That is why brands ought to be careful here and select a strong and lightweight option from the beginning to be sustainable.
The Packaging Needs To Intrigue the Buyers
When the packaging design has no appeal or excitement, it’s a failed try. It won’t appeal to the buyers, it won’t be selected. But it’s not the packaging that is being rejected here but the product in actual. Given this factor, the Soap Boxes needs to have the design that is super appealing, attractive, alluring and exciting. It needs to grab hold of the buyer’s attention to the point where it actually decides to buy the item.

here's what I've learned to never pay full price for, because people are giving these items away for free or almost free on Craigslist, Nextdoor, Facebook, at Goodwill, and on eBay (which has a local pickup section) in every sufficiently populated location in the USA.
cost of acquiring these items ranges from "carrying it home from the sidewalk" to "getting a friend with a car to help you pick it up" which is the same amount of effort as going to IKEA for worse quality that costs more, with the notable exception of it being a pain in the ass to coordinate with craigslist sellers, and you often have to wait and watch for what you want to actually show up. it took me about a year to find an acceptable gamer chair left out on the sidewalk, for example. but they cost $100+ new, so I chose to wait.
a lot of this stuff is the kind of thing you don't necessarily intend to keep, just to use in transitional housing or until you can afford a better one.
1. printers of any kind. basic office inkjets are free. ink is easily refillable or has generic ink cartridges way cheaper than brand name for any inkjet up to about 2015, not sure how difficult the newer smart printers are to hack but there's no reason to own a newer one because printing technology has not improved since about 2005. you want a color laser for making zines and wheatpastes? it's on Craigslist RN and someone's mom is desperate to get rid of it
2. bedframes
3. desks
4. tables
5. chairs
6. bookshelves, nice oak bookshelves that don't bend like al dente spaghetti when you put books on them, are rotting on sidewalks rn because they didn't fit in someone's house. go get them
7. scanners. I find a working scanner by a dumpster at least once a quarter, and I don't pick them up because I already have one that I picked up from a dumpster years ago
8. hot tubs. everyone thinks they want a hot tub and that the maintenance and upkeep will be worth it, and they are wrong. Craigslist.
9. sofas, with the caveat that if you are in a bedbug region like New York State you need to be very confident in your bedbug screening skills
10. quality leather shoes. these last forever and are expensive new. eBay is best for these
11. plates, glassware, silverware. all of these are able to be sterilized to whatever standard you feel comfortable with but if you eat in restaurants you've already put a fork in your mouth that hundreds of people have drooled on so try not to fool yourself
12. televisions and computer monitors
13. houseplants. similar to the bedbug warning above, you need to screen these for pests like fungus gnats and mealybugs
14. dressers, wardrobes, china hutches, cabinets, chests of drawers, etc
15. mirrors
16. clothes hangers
17. moving boxes
18. mattresses to a certain extent. I don't like secondhand used mattresses but unstained, unused mattresses are surprisingly common, especially since the foam mail order mattress boom started and people keep getting told by the mattress companies to just get rid of/keep any mattresses they want to return for flaws or wrong sizes or whatever. bedbug warning on this obviously
19. sheets and towels. you gotta launder them obviously
20. basic clothing, especially for kids. normie type clothing is so numerous people often just throw them away because they can't get anyone to take them
21. kitchenware like cooking utensils and pots n pans. don't use chipped or scratched Teflon/nonstick if you can help it. everyone needs one basic steel chef knife, which can be sharpened and maintained indefinitely. people throw these away CONSTANTLY
22. household consumables like laundry soap and dish soap. people often accidentally buy the wrong brand, scent, or develop allergies and want to get rid of extra
23. pet supplies like collars, leashes, dog crates, litter boxes, litter itself, dog beds, toys, carriers, etc
24. medical equipment of all kinds. people who take care of all kinds of patients end up with tons of leftover, sealed, miscellaneous stuff when that person recovers or dies, and they often give it away. adult diapers, hospital beds, IV stands, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, fracture boots and splints, knee braces, canes, catheter packs, ice packs, heat packs, sterile paper sheeting, gauze, slings, over-the-door stretching and rehab pulleys, mattress protectors, etc
25. washers and dryers, both the basic household cube type and the small twin tub or rock tumbler type. people upgrade these when the old ones are still working, just squeaky or a little weird or sometimes just old
26. vacuum cleaners. secondhand ones are sort of icky but you can get rid of the ickiness by wiping them down with a rag and isopropyl alcohol inside and out. use an exacto or utility knife to slice off the hair and string wrapped around the roller. buy a new filter on Amazon. people throw away vacuums that work perfectly all the time because they don't actually know how to clean them out or do maintenance. bedbug and pet hair warning obviously
27. microwaves
28. refrigerators
30. lamps
31. any kind of exercise equipment including stationary bikes, ellipticals and weights/weight benches
32. any kind of piano. there's a grand on my local Craigslist for free rn
33. scrap wood and lumber
34. pallets
35. wood shipping crates
36. newborn, toddler and baby equipment like breast milk pumps and storage, bottles, bottle racks, diapers, etc. anything a little guy will grow out of fast will end up being given away
37. air conditioners, humidifiers and dehumidifiers. these will be most numerous during their respective off seasons
list updated 2/13/24 based on recent Craigslist trawling
38. jars, both canning type jars and clean food jars like from pickled or jelly bought at the store
39. rugs. most of my rugs are sidewalk finds. rugs will almost always be dirty. a decent consumer grade rug cleaner costs under $100, it's cheaper to just buy one if you have the space to store it. flushing the scavenged rug with soap, hot water, vinegar, alcohol, etc will clean almost anything but huge bedbug and allergen warning on this item

grocery shopping with jason, beyond obsessed with doing domestic things with this big strong sometimes broody guy
Idk why the idea of Jason being the only sane person if the BatFam went to Costco or Sam’s club is funny to me.
Grocery shopping at night only. Jason is your scary dog privilege. I didn’t mean for this to be so short, I’ll probably do a target run at some point 😅
“Smell this one.” You hold up two various body washes for Jason to smell. One is a creamy, soft vanilla, the other is a fragrant, artificial strawberry with lilac leaves printed on the bottle.
“They both smell fine,” he insists after smelling them. “Why’re you asking me?”
“Cause I know you use it sometimes.”
He says nothing at this quiet truth. Maybe sometimes he’d reach for your bottle during his exhausted showers. Maybe he didn’t care if the smell clung to him for a good while. He didn’t mind one bit.
“That one.” He points towards the scent he preferred.
Essentials first. That was the quiet deal before getting produce. You loved asking for his opinions on a lot of stuff, since you practically ‘lived in the same bed.’
Jason didn’t particularly mind when he’d tread along with you when you wanted a new soap or lotion. Sometimes it was kind of amusing the array of options their turned out to be. You had a good nose, picking out scents he adored smelling on you every time he held you close, invading his hoodies every time you wore them.
“Do we have popcorn at home?” Came your first question after his arms settled snugly around your waist, holding you content to his chest.
“Half a box yeah, why?” You try to tilt your head up, but fail when Jason purposely rests his chin ontop.
“Just wondering,” he answers. “You ‘bout done here?”
“Yeah. Why? Too many single girls making eye contact?”
“More like a ton of single mothers.” He chuckles, breaking into a laugh when you lightly slap the back of his hand.
Checking for produce was a team effort. Sometimes you can’t remember if you have enough of this or that, but Jason’s good memory usually came in hand.
“You had one of these before?” You question whilst holding up a spiky, untrustworthy vegetable after grabbing some cheery looking bell peppers.
“Uh, no? Don’t think so. Don’t know how you would eat those.”
“We could ask Alfred,” you reply while slightly rocking the cart back and forth. “Anything else?”
“I’m thinking.” Jason keeps still, tilting his head back in thought. “I’m thinking got everything. Anything else you want, babe?”
You would say yes, but you don’t really know what you’re particularly in the mood for after filling up your shopping list, having extra money to spend.
This led to the both of you wandering around the store, slightly vacant due to most people settling at home, eating their meals or spending time with their families.
You peer along the freezer windows as you stroll by, nearly coming to a stop after examining some interesting coffee ice cream.
Bump.
The sudden soft prod of the cart frame against your behind made you scoff, turning over your shoulder to peer at a smirking Jason.
“Oops.”
“Rude!”
“Sorry. You walk too slow.”
Scoffing, you grab a bag of frozen blueberries and turn around, witnessing Jason quickly and carelessly toss a bag of frozen avocado into the cart.
“Hey, theirs a system Todd!” You step closer, quickly rearranging the produce and snacks back into their ‘original’ spots.
“Says the woman playing Tetris with our food.”
“The avocados crushing the bread!” You gesture towards the produce. You click your tongue and scoff again to Jason’s delight as you left the bread untouched.
Good thing too. You almost saw the ice cream he had hidden underneath it.

"I told ye, she's perfect," Soap said, eyes on the window across the street. They could see you puttering around your living room, wearing a pretty flower print dress as you tidied up. "Good with bairns too, met her when I was pickin' up the niece and nephew from school. She was workin' for some rich family, an' they let her go because the wife found a pair of her knickers in her husband's briefcase." He snickered. He'd been the one to put them there, although, in his opinion, he’d been pushing the bounds for a long while anyway. Sure he’d essentially cast you adrift, jobless and with no one looking out for you, but, well, they were looking after you now, weren’t they? So it wasn’t all that bad.
"Good job, pup," Ghost said fondly, ruffling Johnny's hair. "Captain's gonna love 'er."
"How do you lads want to play it?" Gaz asked. "Could go in tonight. Won’t take much to knock her out, pack up her things, take her to the cabin. Get her nice and situated for when Price gets back."
"No point in waitin', is there?" Ghost asked. "Nice she's on the ground floor. Makes takin' 'er things easier. I'll go round 'n' check the windows in a bit. Should wait till after midnight. Don't want to be spotted by the neighbours."
"No' much risk o' tha'," Soap said. "Knocked over a bunch of bins last I was here and the cunts didna even turn on a light. Just the bonnie thing worryin’ while the rest of ‘em sleep sound."
Gaz lit a cigarette, nodding thoughtfully. "Small apartment too. Is there much to move?"
Soap shook his head. "Nah, no' much. Sweet girl lives simply. I told ye, she's perfect for the captain. He'll be able to spoil the fuck out of her, once she's broken in, aye?"
"Know 'e'll like that. Man needs a wife to dote on. ‘e’s been goin’ a bit crazy, all alone. An' 'e can train'er up nice."
"Think he might share?" Gaz asked wistfully, exhaling a stream of thin smoke as he sighed. "Nice soft girl like that-- Plenty to go around."
Ghost laughed. "Thought we'd 'ave trouble gettin' Johnny to keep 'is 'ands to 'imself, and you're the one droolin'."
"Scuse me for having eyes, mate. Just think she looks sweet."
"We'll get to see first 'and soon.” Ghost clapped him on the shoulder. “Come on lads. Let's get ready."
Tumblr media
You wake up on the hard metal floor of a moving vehicle, your pounding head cradled in someone's hands. That's what you notice first, and the thumbs rubbing circles against your neck soothingly.
It has the opposite effect. Your eyes fly open.
“Hi, bonnie,” a somewhat familiar face grins down at you, blue eyes smiling, but too intense, glittering in the low light that filters in from the windows at the front of the truck. “How’s yer head?”
You grimace, trying to make sense of what’s going on around you. The back of the van seems to be filled with boxes. “Aren’t you Finn and Rory’s uncle?”
“Aw, ye remember me? Knew ye were a sweetheart.”
You try to sit up, but Johnny puts a strong hand on your shoulder and keeps you where you are. Your head feels too heavy to try and fight him, your muscles weak. “What’s going on?” you ask. “What— Is this a kidnapping?”
“Tha’s an ugly word, bonnie. We’re doin’ ye a favour, really. Settin’ ye up with someone respectable. Captain’ll take good care of ye.” He pats your cheek. “Whyna get back to sleep? Still a ways to go, aye?”
Maybe it’s just a bad, weird dream. You do feel foggy, like you’re not fully attached to your body, and keeping your eyes open is a struggle. You’ll wake up back in your own bed, and have a funny story to tell if you ever bump into Johnny again. He’s definitely too nice to be a kidnapper, right? Like, people don’t really do that sort of thing. It has to be a dream.
“Okay,” you mumble, letting your eyes close again.
As you suspected, you wake up again in bed. The headache’s receded some, and there’s warm sunlight streaming in through the windows. You bury your face into the pillows, and then bolt upright. The pillow smells weird, like sweet tobacco and spice, and you don’t get morning sun in your bedroom. The window faces a brick wall across a narrow alley.
The room you’re in now is not your room. It’s sparsely furnished, just a dresser under the window and the bed you’re tucked into, and two doors, one that’s clearly a closet, and one that must lead out into the rest of the… house? Judging by the sound of birdsong outside, you’re out of the city.
You pad to the window and look out. There’s a van in the driveway, and three men carrying things in. One of them looks up and spots you in the window, waving cheerfully.
Not a dream. Fear grips you, ice sliding down your spine, shards settling in your stomach, needling and uncomfortable. Your sinuses prickle like you’re about to cry, but no tears come. You’re too dehydrated to summon them. It’s hard to tell how long you’ve been out— It’s fully daylight outside, but you have no idea what time. A second look around the room finds a digital clock sitting on the nightstand, 3:05 glaring back at you in red.
There’s a knock on the door, and it pushes open. The man who walks in is handsome, smiling at you so beautifully that your automatic response is to try and smile back, although you feel that it’s flimsy, unsure. There’s no chance that this man is here to help you, but you at least hope he’s not here to hurt you either.
“How’re you feeling?” he asks. His voice is as pleasant as his face is, smooth and cheerful, although it makes you wary about him on principle. “You hungry?”
You shake your head. It’s not true, but you can’t trust that there wouldn’t be drugs in anything they give you.
“Well, come on downstairs, hm? Get some water at least. Maybe a tea?”
Your stomach churns. “I might be sick,” you manage to squeak out. He quickly ushers you out into the hall and into a bathroom. You don’t make it to the toilet, but you do manage to make it to the sink. If you had a little more fire in you, you might have tried to vomit bile onto the pretty man’s shoes, but it’s hard to shake the instinct to be good, not to make any trouble, to hope that they’ll just let you go. You’re not even sure what they want. You have no family to ransom, you don’t have any money to speak of, you’re just a fat little ex-nanny still paying off an English Literature degree from a second-rate college.
You turn on the sink to wash away the sick, and rinse your mouth out. Your hands start shaking when you realize your toothbrush is sitting in the holder next to the sink, like it belongs there. Your makeup bag is sitting on the counter too, and when you look down, you realize you’re standing on your own bathmat, taken from your home and arranged here, as if effects from your own house are supposed to make you feel comfortable. You look at your reflection in the mirror, and then at the man still standing in the doorway, his brown eyes all concern, as if he wasn’t party to a fucking nightmare.
You straighten up, gripping the counter to steady yourself. “What the hell is this?” you ask, trying to inject some authority into your quaking voice. “Who are you? What do you want from me?”
“I’m Gaz. Nice to meet you. Johnny had lots of nice things to say about you.”
So that hadn’t been a dream either. You look around the room desperately, looking for anything that could possibly be used as a weapon, but Gaz seems to know exactly what you’re doing, and he steps into your space quickly to grab your hands.
“None of that. Come on. You’ll feel better after a tea, yeah? Then you can get ready to meet the captain.”
He leads you downstairs. Questions spin around your head, but you’re not sure if it’s worth asking. Gaz only bothered to respond to one of the three you’ve asked so far, and it wasn’t the one that you were most interested in an answer to. So you stay quiet instead, taking in the layout of the big room. A front door and a back door, and windows that look out onto a forest on one side of the property, and more forest on the other side, beyond a large cleared space with a neat garden and a few fruit trees. There’s a second building that you can just see the corner of from the kitchen window, more likely a garage than a neighbour.
Gaz backs you up against the counter and leans down slightly, his hands gripping your thighs. You panic, the touch surprising you, and slap him across the face. The sharp sound makes you freeze, like it wasn’t you that had done it. He takes advantage of your surprise to shove you up onto the counter and grab both your hands with one of his, all the friendliness draining our of his eyes in an instant as he points a scolding finger at you. You feel like you’ve done something naughty that you’re not fully aware of the implications of yet, a badly trained dog or a child. “I’m going to let that one slide, because I understand that this is a big change for you. But you’re not going to like what happens if you try that again, understood?”
You nod quickly, your own eyes wide. “I-I’m sorry,” you say, the instinct for appeasement rearing it’s skittish little head.
And then the smile returns, as pretty as before, storm clouds blowing away as though they’d never been there to begin with. “It’s alright, doll. Just don’t do it again. And definitely don’t try that attitude on with the captain.” He taps the pointing finger against your nose playfully, and lets your hands drop back into your lap.
The rules seem simple enough. Be good and sweet, and get friendly faces in return, to a degree. No matter how cooperative you are, you doubt they’re going to let you go home. Fighting back means consequences, and you’re not sure how far those consequences will extend. If you’re too much trouble, it’s not a stretch to imagine that they’ll just kill you outright and try again with a meeker woman. You don’t yet know if death would be the more preferable outcome.
You pull your sweater down over your thighs. The black zip-up hoodie isn’t yours (the word Riley is stitched onto the front of it), but it’s big, and even though it smells faintly of cigarettes, it affords you at least a little modesty and comfort, more than the tank top and the sleep-shorts you’re wearing underneath do. Riley must be the third man. Was he the captain? Or was there a fourth one somewhere?
Johnny comes through the door carrying your suitcases, and he grins widely when he sees you, the charming, boyish one that you’d thought was handsome before. It’s only unnerving now. “Didja have a good sleep, bonnie?”
“You drugged me,” you accuse.
“Weel, of course. You were no’ goan ta come all peaceable, and LT wouldna be patient if ye were cryin’ the whole way here.” He trots upstairs, and you can hear him drop the bags with a thump, before he’s clattering back down the steps and leaning against the counter next to you. “How’d’ye like yer new home, bonnie? S’a nice place, aye? Better than tha’ little shoebox back in the city.”
“I like my apartment,” you protest.
“Psh, ye’d say tha’. Puttin’ on a brave face since yer such a good girl. But it wasna verra safe, was it? No’ a single neighbour paid us any mind while we were loadin’ up yer things. No’ a good place for a single girl, aye?” He reaches out and puts a big hand on your knee, squeezing lightly. “Now ye’ll be taken care of, like ye should be.”
“I don’t want to be taken care of.”
“Nonsense. Ye’ll be glad, once ye get used to things. Already looks real homey in here, don’t ye think?” He gestures at the living room.
You twist to look, and your stomach sinks. Your throw pillows are on the couch, one of the afghans you crocheted hanging over the back of it. You recognize the titles of your books on the shelves. These men were nothing if not thorough, surgically removing your entire life and transplanting it to this house in the woods, with it’s wood panel walls and big, overstuffed leather couches.
He continues blithely, like he’s not delivering some of the most horrifying news you’ve ever heard. “Most of your furniture’s in the garage, ye can sort tha’ out with Price, aye? But we brought all yer clothes and decorations and whatnot in. Figure ye should wear tha’ pretty black sundress, an’ those long stockin’s with the clippy belt, ye ken the one? Cap’ll like those.”
They’d been through all your things. If you had anything left to throw up, you might’ve again. Gaz sets a glass of water on the counter next to you. “How d’you take your tea, doll?”
“Milk, two sugars,” Johnny answers for you. “Our sweet lass has a sweet tooth, aye?”
“How do you know that?” You can hear the quiver in your voice, and it doesn’t slip by either of them.
“Come oan, hen, ye ken I didna jus’ pick ye off the street. Did my research. Wouldna pick just anyone for the captain.”
“When he said he’d found the perfect girl, we didn’t believe him at first,” Gaz says, leaning against the counter on the other side of the kitchen while the tea steeps. “But Ghost and I knew he was right, soon as we saw you.” He nods at the glass. “Drink your water. You haven’t had anything since last night.”
“Is it drugged?” you ask flatly.
“No, want ye awake for when Price gets here. Yer a real cute thing asleep, but we want him ta hear yer pretty voice and see that smile, aye?” Johnny reaches past you and picks up the glass of water, taking a big swig to demonstrate it’s harmlessness.
You take a careful sip when he hands it back to you, and then another, resisting the urge to just gulp the whole thing down. The door opens again, and the biggest man you’ve seen in your life walks in, wearing a black t-shirt and a mask with the jaw of a skull printed on it, pulled up over the lower half of his face. He looks at you dispassionately, and then at Gaz and Johnny. “What the ‘ell have you two muppets been sayin’ to the poor thing?” he asks, his voice rumbling like an avalanche. “She looks like she’s gonna faint.”
“Figure she’s just peaky,” Gaz says defensively. “I’m making her tea.”
The big guy swats Johnny’s hand away from your knee impatiently, and cages you in against the counter, one huge arm on either side of you. “How’re you feelin’ bird? Be honest.”
“Terrified,” you admit.
He chuckles. “Sensible, considerin’. But you don’t need to worry, olright? No one’s gonna hurt you, so long as you’re good. And you want to be good, don’t you, bird?”
You nod. You’d thought Gaz and Johnny were big, but this one’s huge, broad and tall and even scarier. It’s clear why they started off introducing themselves to you in the order they did. If this man had been the first thing you’d seen after waking up you probably would have gone into hysterics.
“Use your words, pet.”
“I want to be good,” you say obediently, because you don’t see any other options, at least for the moment.
“Good girl,” he says, and there’s the slightest hint of a smile in his dark eyes.
Somehow, this is the most comforting thing that you’ve experienced all day. You won’t be hurt if you’re good, and you are being good.
He pushes back from the counter slightly, giving you more space, takes the mug of tea from Gaz, and hands it off to you. “Small sips,” he instructs. “And maybe a biscuit, if you think you can keep it down.”
“Are you the captain?” you ask nervously, gripping the mug with two hands.
“Hm? No. ‘e’s still about an hour out. I’m Simon. Ghost to these two.” He fishes an open package of biscuits out of the cupboard and sets them next to you. “Once you finish your tea, we’ll get you ready. Want to make a good first impression, right bird?”
“Not really,” you admit. “I’d like to go home.”
He laughs, at least finding your honesty amusing. “That won’t be ‘appenin’. If Price dun’t want you, I’ll keep you myself. But I’ll tell you right now, you’ll like Price better. If you’re good for him, he’ll be real good to you, understood?”
You bite your tongue. It won’t do you any good to point out that a man that would accept a person as a gift is probably not capable of being good to anyone. Good is subjective, and the three men in front of you are lunatics. Their captain probably has the slightest bit stronger a grasp on his sanity, or a consistent moral code, if not a particularly righteous one. So you just keep your mouth shut, and drink your tea, and eat two chocolate digestives while Gaz and Johnny start collecting things to make dinner.
As soon as you set your empty mug to the side Ghost pops you down from the counter and ushers you upstairs with a big hand placed a little too low on your back. He tells you what to wear (down to the lingerie), but blessedly doesn’t insist on watching you get dressed. He does sit on the edge of the tub and watch you put on makeup, however, requesting red lipstick and winged eyeliner. Your hands are still a little shaky, but you manage to do as he asks. His eyes smile at you just a little when you’re obedient. You feel pathetic for not making a fuss, but you’re not sure what you can possibly do, except something stupid that will make them angry enough to hurt you.
He helps you into a pair of strappy red heels that had been languishing in the back of your closet before they dug everything out, and straightens the seam of your stockings, running his big hands up your calves. It’s like you’re a doll, dressed just how he wants, something to look pretty and say less than nothing, a gift for some other man you’ve never met to keep on a shelf.
Or worse, to play with.
You hear Johnny and Gaz greet someone downstairs, their voices loud and excited, and your heart skips nervously.
Ghost rises to his feet, smiling so big you can see it even with the mask. “Wait right here, pet,” he says firmly, leaving you sitting on the edge of the bed while he goes off to greet his captain. “Want to introduce you proper.”
So you sit, and you wait, shaking and nervous, for what feels like eternity, until you hear Simon’s surprisingly light footfalls on the stairs again. He offers you a hand, and hoists you over his shoulder as soon as you’re on your feet, carrying you down into the living room.
“We all pitched in,” Gaz says, as casually as if he meant throwing in five dollars for a card. “But she was Soap’s idea.”
“Picked ‘er out special, Cap,” Johnny says. “She’s perfect for ye.”
“She?” an unfamiliar voice asks. “Don’t tell me you got me a dog.”
“Better than that, skipper.” Ghost laughs as he circles around the couch, and drops you carefully into the man’s lap, stepping into line with the other two. “We got you a wife.”

I've been low-key thinking about this concept since I read ohbo-ohno's Don't Leave Me Locked in Your Heart a while back (If you haven't read and you like a good dark fic, you should click that link, you may enjoy it). I think getting someone a person as a gift, or being given as a gift, rather, is a fun fucked up fantasy to explore. I'm not entirely sure where I'll take this but I promise to put in content warnings. Let me know if I miss something, I don't want anyone to be surprised by what they find!

Penpals with the 141
Tumblr media
Warnings: stalkerish behaviour at the end teehee 🤭
Notes: if only I had a hot military man or men to send letters to 🤷🏻‍♀️😩

It started out as just another way to keep the boredom away. Sending care packages to military members was also a plus. You'd be staying busy and doing a good deed at the same time. You found some trustworthy-enough organization, signed up, and sent out your first letter along with a few goodies like choclates and warm socks.
The 141 had never really thought much about getting care packages from civilians. In their eyes it was just a good way to get the things they missed out on while on deployment. Most of the letters got tossed as soon as they opened the box.
That was until they got yours.
The stupid little smiley face drawn on the cardboard shouldn’t have stopped Simon in his tracks, but he found himself staring down at the doodle.
"L.T? Y'been standin' there fer a good 15 minutes." Soap remarked.
"S'that your favourite candy, right?"
Soap was swayed by the chocolate oranges, finding himself reading your letter as he scarfed down each wedge. The curly handwriting, the crossed out and rewritten words had him showing the letter to Gaz, and then Price. Soon you found yourself in an almost penpal situation. Over the exchange of more and more letters, you were able to dicern the personalities of each man who was writing to you.
There was Soap, who wrote in barely legible chicken scratch, often skipping words or even entire sentences, like he was thinking too fast for his hand to keep up. Always calling you 'bonnie' or 'lass'.
Gaz, who wrote much more formally. His hand writing was the best to read, neatly printed on the lines of the paper. You got the sense that he sat down and put his whole attention into writing back to you.
Ghost, who's name you were yet to learn, tacked on his responses at the end of the paper. It was rare to get more than a few sentances from him, and even rarer for them to be anything but small talk. Slowly, he began to open up, asking you how you were or if your boss had resolved that HR issue yet. How did he know that?
Price, who'd quickly insisted on you calling him John— makes me feel old, luv— was the one who you seemed the most interested in your life. You chalked it up to him wanting to have something to think about other than his life threatening job.
Questions about your living situation, your job, your hobbies, it all seemed like small talk. Easy enough to look over. And then came the questions about your bills. Does your job pay enough? When's the last time you've been on vacation? What does your ideal living situation look like? Are you in a relationship?
It wasn't just John who was asking. So were Gaz, Johnny, and even Ghost began to inquire about more personal details. Every time you got a letter, it was almost a pavlovian response for your cheeks to blush. You looked forwards to the letters from your far away military men, and they even sent you gifts!
A watch, just like the one on your pinterest, wrapped up in a pretty pink bow. They added on such a sweet note too.
"Synced up to our watches." Ghost.
"Thought you needed a little treat." Gaz
"Here you go, bonnie! Now you can know when we're awake!" Soap.
"Let me know if you need it tightened, sweetheart." John.
They didn't feel the need to tell you about the favour they called in with Laswell to get the micro-tracker added, or about the camera and microphone they planted in the watch face. You looked so pretty with it on anyways, they'd need to make sure nobody stared too long.
