So within the first 4 episodes I felt the plot finish… But somehow there’s more? Watch the trailer Let me start by saying the story is about a bookworm who is the daughter of a duke who catches the eye of a Prince then he proposes to her. Somehow she’s so enthralled in the books that she doesn’t realize that he has loved her since the moment they met. (That’s a good 10 years fam.) And not only…

Can't believe this is all we got of Alfred and Anna in the end. I wanted to see them dancing or something!!!

I was actually so eager to see whether Anna said yes or not, that I ended up skimming the light novels... here's how that went:

While she ultimately agreed, Anna is pouting a little over having 'lost a bet', which can only mean one thing...

Alfred won Anna's hand via a battle of wits

and it's a damn shame we didn't get to see it.

I also want to complain to the anime staff about their clothing!! Anna was noted to be wearing a blue dress in the LN, but that pallet seems to have been given to Lilia in the anime while Anna is wearing green instead. And Alfred? Alfred's clothes were meant to be matching hers, but the anime just has him wearing his same old outfit from other episodes. Boring! Weak!! My day is ruined, and my disappointment is immeasurable.

Well, maybe the manga will cover it in a nicer fashion... I'd say read the LN but I myself dislike most LNs as I'm picky about writing styles. So if you're like me in that way, I do think the manga has been a great alternative so far!
